As a game dev student it’s perfectly reasonable for things like this to happen. For example today at university my group had each part of their own changes working perfectly on their machines but as soon as we pushed it all together the game was in ruins with over 190 reported bugs. This was 10 mins before our game demo to the class!

After debugging for 30 mins we got it to finally work, and then when we put it on the lecturers computer the project (with 0 changes made) completely broke and it took another 20 mins for the lecturer to then fix it for us.

This is what game development is like. This was with just a 2D game too and our group are all respectable programmers so imagine what it’s like on Ark rn. Give wildcard time to get the issues sorted

My Astraeos server used to run smoothly with few users, but in the last few weeks, with more people joining, the connection seems to have dropped 4 to 6 times during 2x farming. There are multiple stages to testing. The difference between development testing and actual server testing is huge. There’s so many issues that won’t pop up until proper instances of servers are made for the game (which is what happens when the servers download the update) and a lot of the time these things don’t show themselves until there’s A LOT of stress placed on the server.

I bet 90% of these problems wouldn’t show up without enough stress being placed on servers

It’s an amazing concept but they released it on ASE after years of having already been improving upon Ark ascended and shutting down the old official servers. People had lost everything and moved on, and then they made it exclusively pc only, used AI in the trailers, it was an expensive DLC, and ended up being very buggy.

Ark's servers are like adults trying to wear children's clothes; if the game grew, they should release more servers. They say it's better to build 10 small bases than one giant one; maybe if you could place machines directly on the ground, it would significantly reduce the number of constructions.

I play on console and it is not loading at all for me it's just showing a black screen i have mods installed but i'm only using a few of them , not all of them to try to make it not as crash eminent if you get What I mean? I've never experienced a game with so many problems. This is by far the most incompetent team I've ever encountered. You have to expect to be kicked out at any moment, potentially dying or losing a lot of things, or you'll be too incompetent to release a working update, which will then break everything again. The only way the community can help is by opening tickets and reporting any problems they find. I know it's frustrating wanting to play and the servers being under maintenance, but you just need to be patient (you can even read a book while it's down or find other activities). Flooding the chat with random messages only overloads the chat and doesn't contribute significantly.

I doubt GTA uses that much data as Ark. Because the map doesnt change. Its only interactive during your sessions which only has people moving.

Ark has to keep all the saved information which is always changing due to builds and decays and what not. So I bet the servers take so much more data than any other game out there. Just my honest opinion.
