So no PlayStation 5 mod storage increase an update so bad you can't even play single player. The game is now corrupted. Chances are everyone just lost everything and even if you did a role back it wouldn't fix anything for single players or anyone that now has a corrupted save file. Well, the unofficial servers are still failing; they haven't fixed anything. The game keeps freezing or crashing, and they don't even have a community update to explain if it's caused by a mod or if it's directly Ark's fault. Please just fix the lag - we can live with crashes but the lag is horrible . Reduce number of cloners in an area , less 2x in weekends so breeding slows down . Take down servers for all platforms when a new map release . Don’t go on vacation when a new map drop and don’t put out a new map with Christmas event

I do enjoy the game, around the constant crashing, and tbh it’s far less than 90 % - the game crashing so much, and each mega update breaks it more and more. I can truly enjoy playing without frustration and crashing and accessing server probably 60% of the time - if that. Depends on these updates.

All I truly want at this point is to move my crap from my servers to SP but the obelisk bug exists and somehow hasn’t been fixed. So I pay for nitrado in hopes WC fixes the damn bug - but I’m hopeless at this point.

I love mods, but the times I do go back to ASE, it’s somehow a breath of fresh air. I thought ASE used to be buggy on my ps4… lol.. no. Nothing compared to this. I just want them to fix the bugs that have existed for months..

I’d probably invest some of the money into better fiber WiFi, with a lan connection while getting a nice router, or if in some universe you already have the best WiFi but still crash, switch to a PC. ARK is complex, no question. But the current state of ASA is not just “because it’s complicated.” Wildcard is responsible for the technical decisions that shaped it.

A lot of core systems clearly come from ASE. Reusing code is normal, but carrying over old technical debt without properly rebuilding it leads exactly to the kind of instability we’re seeing now.

If the game allows massive bases, thousands of structures, hundreds of tames and constant automation, then the servers and backend need to be built for that scale from the start. If they are not, that is not unavoidable complexity. That is a scaling and optimization issue.

It can absolutely be done better. Other large scale online games handle heavy persistence and large player interaction far more consistently.

This is not about attacking anyone. It is simply about accountability!

I don’t think it’s the servers necessarily. Adding any 1 thing can cause a ripple domino effect that can then break everything that was working before. Like finding the domino that fell. Except the domino is a grain of sand on a beach. Might work great on every test server etc, but suddenly can break when someone does a random combination of things and they can’t realistically test all the billions of interactions people do. cause @civic bison isnt answering and cause ive run 2 alpha king titans in the last 2 weeks last weekend the bossfight crashed my whole extinction server on smalls for 30 minutes, and as soon as i start the boss again after re farming the tributes the servers are taken down with no notice so i lose all my tributes again

lol brother the waste of your time is trying for months to do something that doesn’t work. Maybe a email could get a dev to personally help you transport cross server so you could get on to doing better more efficient things. I’m saying, if you care so much about the issues, this could be a solution but if it wasn’t that big of a problem to begin with I understand. Good luck in the trauma center, I’ll be in a data center doing an IST tomorrow 👍🏽

someone forgot to change the thermal paste on yalls servers now the shit is burning up. almost as bad as the lost colony implant. give us club ark to play in the meantime it will stress test servers and not allow ppl to do anytihing to progressive while people are eager to play
