Because you will be able to log back in when they have fixed everything. Your character and inventory will be as you left them. Those of us who logged in normally as we do everyday during the bug (imagine ALL characters and dinos who were out on the map flying in an amorphous bubble at 50,50 coordinates) lost our inventory and more. THAT was the reason we lost all, so if you couldn't log in this morning, then you're lucky.
