PlayStation Survivors: We’ve hit a snag, unfortunately the holiday certification pipelines are currently backed up, with the process moving approximately 10x slower than the typical turnaround time. Because of this, there is a possibility that the PlayStation version may not be ready to release by that time and will be a few hours later. The team will be standing by waiting for the green light and as soon as that approval hits, we will set PlayStation live with the other platforms.

We know splitting the launch isn't ideal, and we plan to release a fresh batch of Official Servers when the update goes live for PlayStation. We’re doing everything we can to expedite things on our end, and hope to have good news for our PlayStation players soon.

I’m not sure what some people are missing here, but this delay isn’t because the devs are “doing nothing.” Console releases especially on PlayStation have to go through a certification process, and during the holidays those pipelines get massively backed up. That’s completely outside the devs’ control, and right now it’s moving far slower than normal.

The team is literally standing by, waiting for approval so they can push the update live the moment they’re allowed to. This isn’t laziness or incompetence it’s how console platforms work.

At the end of the day, no one is forcing anyone to play. The fact that they’re continuing to push new content at all is something to appreciate, not attack. There are real people on the other side of this who are working long hours to get this out, and the way some of you are speaking is honestly disappointing for this fan base.

A little patience and understanding goes a long way.

Technically, yes, they can do something about it. They can get an update certified and ready to go before actually releasing it. AKA: They should start telling us a date 1 week after their expected time to get it certified, minimum. Pretty sure that's how other companies don't miss their "update" schedules.

Xbox and Steam are now expected to release at 10:30 PM Pacific at the earliest. We are in the final stages of preparing the release server.

PlayStation Survivors: We’ve hit a snag, unfortunately the holiday certification pipelines are currently backed up, with the process moving approximately 10x slower than the typical turnaround time. Because of this, there is a possibility that the PlayStation version may not be ready to release by that time and will be a few hours later. The team will be standing by waiting for the green light and as soon as that approval hits, we will set PlayStation live with the other platforms.

We know splitting the launch isn't ideal, and we plan to release a fresh batch of Official Servers when the update goes live for PlayStation. We’re doing everything we can to expedite things on our end, and hope to have good news for our PlayStation players soon.

When we have more updates, we'll let you know.
