the climbing also isnt that great since it requires a surface to jump towards, and attempting to jump without a surface just drops you to the ground, which prevents you from getting over the top ledge of a cliff. The cliff latching itself also seems a little unreliable, it wont latch unless the surface is perfectly flat. I can see the climbing being useful as a way to escape and regen stamina, but i dont see it being useful for general mobility. The glide also isnt that great since you cant turn, the terror bird has a better glide in this department

If anyone has played ark you know Dino’s like Rock drakes and deinonychus are always bugged when it comes to their movement, gliding, and climbing. It always has and always will be buggy. Server lag can affect it, ping, etc..

Best ways to use deinonychus is to latch attack and make them bleed, and jump away. Repeat until Dino’s are dead

oh the rock drake's climbing is way more reliable, since you can actually climb up after latching on. The latching also always sticks with rock drakes, unlike the deinonychus which will just drop you to the ground 50% of the time

Deinonychus also seems to be described as a glass cannon. Its bleed stacks, which would make it a powerful boss tame (assuming its bleed works on bosses). The bleed takes time and heavy micro to set up though, so it wouldnt be super useful for just general use outside of boss fights. Its a better raptor, yes, but the bar set by raptors is really low

I want to like this tame but every ability it has is just slightly too underwhelming. Its mobility seems like its almost there, but not good enough to reliably clear cliffs, so i wouldnt use it as a mobility mount. Its damage mechanics are finicky and micro heavy, so i wouldnt use it for general dps either. Literally everything it does can be done better by something else

Not one single: Mosa, Tuso, Plesio - these three don't seem to exist at all.. and without Tuso it's not possible to tame a Helicoprion as it's required for the only food they seem to eat for taming progress. I've never tried it. Personally early on, I use Pyromane to kill fire wyverns. Completely immune to their fire attack.

the level of the rex and the level of the carch do not matter, one baby rex is always enough

make sure the rex is less than like 8% growth when you kill it though, otherwise you may not be able to drag it

trap may work, but it will be expensive and time consuming. Currently you dont have any tames capable of killing the carch out in the open either, so imo the fastest way of getting rid of the carch would be to tame it. You dont have to keep it, you can throw it somewhere on aggressive and then forget about it

probably not too bad if you have good resource tames, i guess personally i just hate farming resources for traps that im only going to use once. Carch traps are massive, expensive, and unnecessary considering how easy they are to tame without a trap

Just use giga trap, 4 gates and 1 bear trap, you build 3 gates wide enough in a rectangle shape and lure it inside into bear trap you put inside, when its trapped you build the 4th behind it to complete the rectangle and its done

Try checking the server you were on before transferring if you haven't already

alternatively, you could use 4 foundations, 4 walls, 4 quarter walls and 4 ramps. Trap is reusable without any form of rearming and does not need the player to manually close the trap, since the giga will already be trapped as soon as it walks in.
