Honestly, I think it'd be cooler and more unique if climbing wasn't its main focus. Just an added on perk.
Should act more like either a wolf spider, or a trap door spider.
Or possible a tamed version of the net gun that can web down wild creatures completely.
Make it that they can web up most creatures, even rexes, and a good saddle on it. It might help mitigate the usage of traps.
Not that they're an issue, just a more interactive way of trapping creatures then just traps.

I've tried this out on a singleplayer game = all custom cosmetics are available. If you are playing on cluster, they are disabled/invisible.

Okay what is the issue nowadays with the mods with ark?
Everytime theres even a smallest update, with the mod itself or ark, the mods won't load at all. It will never start the downloading of the mods and if you try to join the server with mods it will just say "pending" on the bottom without actually doing anything. Wtf is happening with ark
