It's officially been 1 year since I started playing Darktide, and since Skuld was the first reject I made, it's also her birthday! I would've liked to make a big fancy piece, but this was kind of a last minute idea lol, maybe next year.

With the latest additions I consider Enginseer Aliexandra Morgana's reference sheets pretty much done.
Serves me right for choosing to start off with the character with the most details 🫠
But honestly, it gave me the chance to iron out some details, show some cool stuff about her and her design is probably one of my favorites.
Could eventually take the time to draw a couple of difference expressions, but for now I'm more than happy just like this.

Alrighty, I finally have new art for one of my first and most cherished homebrew factions, and my main-to-go imperials since before I became all about those fancy xeno lads: The Order of the Gallant Cove.
I already talked about them in a previous post with a quick sketch, which you can find here: #darktide-fan-art message.
Suffice to say, they're an order of irish-inspired corsair-knights hastily integrated into the Sisterhood by an Ecclesiarch that wanted their stuff, and now everyone has to deal with it in one way or another.
From left to right, ending with the big glowy lady in the back:

• A common sister of battle: just to show what the average Battle Sister looks like.
• Grand Mhaol III: High Canoness of the Order. After centuries of war, she is as ferocious against the enemies of Mankind as she is cautious about the imperial oligarchs she is so often forced to waste her time talking to. She and her inner circle are the only ones that truly know what is hidden within the inner chambers of the Dun Croga.
• Sister Repentia Liona: A near legendary figure, she is the greatest success and the greatest failure of the Repentant Cult. She took the Vows after the rest of her squad fell in battle, leaving her alone to deal with the crushing guilt of her survival. After decades of reckless battle, however, her brutality and prowess have proved such that she is yet to find a foe capable of killing her. Despite having earned her forgiveness ten times over, she still refuses to abandon her quest for doom.
• Saint Medea: Once a Sister Superior, she was the only one to survive the initial onslaught of the Knights of Joy Chaos Space Marine Warband and return to the Order, having lost her right arm and both legs in the process. Returning to war against the forces of the Arch-Enemy, she ultimately ascended into a Living Saint to face the Greater Daemon Gana-Masha and destroy its physical form.

Being a consumate professional, on the other hand, The Kid always takes great care his audience never sees the actor behind his masks, and quickly shows his fellow reject the error of his ways.

Tragically that's a welding tool, most prosthetic arms made on Ghibella have a couple of gadgets in them, because the mechanical order just cannot chill about extra modules and accessories.

They dont need to be neat at all, mine certainly arent when you look closely. im not an expert, im just doing it for fun, but the most important detail about making emotes is to really simplify or alter your character's design and make the features you actually want to be visible at that size the main focus. black is good contrast that draws the eye to the subject, so ive tried to save the most black towards their expression, so i made runt's hair mostly white rather than how it actually is in their design

Well, when you put it like that- perhaps my issue is just overthinking the process as a whole. I'll give it a shot today and I'll figure some ideas out for emotes. Simplifying sally shouldn't be hard (given he's already a simple design) but getting a good contrast for his eyes and the lineart will be the challenge. Ty for the enlightenment.
