No I'm using audible
Man the app is literally 9/11 for Warhammer epubs i swear
Orks when their skull gets crushed but it only damages their brain
Got the first one they gave out today!
that cover looks so cursed without the other priests lol
Dont you like her hair?
Descent of Angels is still one of the greatest Warhammer books of all time.
Picking this one up for my bf
very based
The recent space shark books have been a treat, solid pick
Kinda funny how angron is a side note even in his own book
It's even called BETRAYER
As in
KHARN THE BETRAYER
As it should be
The hate game is
Insane in Infiniti and divine
KILL HIM KILL HIM. ALL OF YOU KILL HIM
Prime Hater vs Prime Hater
Trazyn is a hoarder
I feel like both of them in some matter
Definitely going to be a topic with my therapist today...
Trazyn is 100% a kleptomaniac yea
Woah, Trazyn is romanian?
Warhammer got good
Yes
false gods does not hook me like horus rising did
horus rising is truly something on its own level
False gods is really where the plot begins to unravel
Erebus sets his plan in full play. The chaos gods begin to surface, we see lokens decline and we get to see the beginnings of the dropsite massacre plan.
You also get to see Horus begin to buckle under all the new high lords plans, bureaucracy and the wedge between the Primarchs and the emperor.
But where will he keep his collection of fine wines
"But sire, you dont.. drink wine.."
Yeah I know but the narrative isn't thatgood tbh, its something about how Abnett writes I think that compells me more during Horus Rising
the change in personalities from both Horus and Abaddon is cool tho, the way how both are quick to anger, they both act the same
yet Abaddon refuses to be called an equal to Horus
god, its cool
I think abbadon was an asshole from start to finish
He was pretty cool in HR but in False Gods hes a bully
tbh hes a literal human supremacist dickhead
idk what people expected him to be lamao
I liked them all didn’t care for Abbadon but HATED Abbadon and little Horus by the end.
I think he's just boring villain, like his whole schtick is just grrrr im angy at everyone, like most of the named notable chaos astartes started out with some redeeming qualities
Thats basically every single 40k villain
I felt very bad for lil horus
I will never forgive them for what they do to my king torgadden
Tor Gyatton?
Meh, argel tal recognizes the fact he's in the wrong, even kharn can be pretty insightful with the nails implanted
Lucius is just a prideful dick but even that's kinda understandable
He realies hes wrong and still works for the bad guys, Kharn is also a cunt, hes the entire reason the Nails were implemented across the legion, hes a piece of shit
Lucius is hilarious
Hes just a dipshit, thats his entire character
He’s hilarious in crimson king too
Talking of lucius did he reborn from the raven guard that killed him in angel exterminatus or is the big eternal plan still in the makings?
He doesnt because reasons
its just a plothole more or less that they dont really expand on lol
the entire series is a mess
Dang
its one of the weirdest parts of the book lol
he was more chill during the horus heresy to loken but then he starts to act like a highschool bully
still like him but the change is quick and nasty xd
A cunt is a cunt
"But he was SOOO chill"
Literal mass-murderer
Yeah he kinda just wakes up after being stabbed and bounces before fabius gets his fingies on him
It is not quick
This is just the beginning
To be fair every astartes is basically a mass murderer, even loyalists
Wait till you see what they do to torgaddon
yeah i know im speakin from one book to another
i know what awaits him but im scared...
Didnt he die in istvan 3
Yes he does
Like super early
No but istvan 3 is super early in the heresy
Yeah they all suck
even when HH tries its best to make Loyalists look good lol
But the actual battle he lasts until the very end
The HH novels are too sympathetic to the imperium lol
They are imperial books so yes
Somehow vulcan has returned..
Every book from one sides pov is always going to make them look better
them being Imperial books doesnt mean anything, it isnt a recording of events, its just author bias
LOYALVENGERS....................
ASSEMBLE.........................
🗣️
@plain gust I remember you like Nightlords so I recommend reading the thramas crusade books. It is just full DA vs NL peakness
I know who the king in yellow is
I like how people still spoiler that too
"OMG THE KING IN YELLOW IS-
"
bro everyone knows its Valdor lol
No it’s Dorn
I reckon not everyone read that far in the eisenhorn shenanigans
He is literally yellow marine dad
its not about reading its more its spread across the entire internet
unless the person lives under a rock
ive not even read ravenor
First time I got to that part I was like "who the fuck is constantin valdor" and googled it
Never heard of him

LMAOOOOO
fuck thats funny
Im watching you
btw, gimme some books
i want to learn more!
Are Necrons even capable of eating
How from the start?
Night Haunter
They just smear meat on their faces when they start getting the flayer disease symptoms
very based
From book 1 he was portrayed as a grumpy guy me thinks
Didn't seem that way to me
No I think that was the point of that interaction
Seemed quite confident in himeelf like the rest of the mournival
And the mournival was also a political tool for horus
So the asshole-ry was in part from horus
I guess he starts out milder but I think he was the sourest of the mournival easily from the start
Bruh
He was grumpy but social and even interacted nicely with Loken, but by book 2 he's an asshole

comedic genius
Ok I admit decent pun
thats literally the name of Little Horus' sword, Abnett is a moron
hmm
Probably missed it
Well I liked the name
Little Horus Aximand...

It was cute :(
A loser
Its a neat read
Abnett is a literary genius!!!
The glaze marines annoyed me personally but the battles should entertain you
How many times does he repeat the phrase "the end and the death" in the final three
LMAO
als odont forget
"FOOL you think this is Terra? Its TERROR!"
(i was gonna kill myself reading that)
Peak writing right there
like a black legion
Say it in full
"They marched like a legion, a black legion"
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
DO YOU GET IT
Lmaooooooo
💀
Here
Its literally the meme holyshit.
Even in the first book he HAD to shoe horn in "in the grim darkness"
OH OH HE SAIID THE THING!!!
Genius stuff
I watched like 1 episode of this timothee oliphant cop show where he shoots people and then he says the title of the show ina line like "it was.. justified"
Could not finish the first episode
also reminder that we also ahve the legendary line of
"This isn't Horus' treachery, IT IS HIS HERESY."
What the fuck
Semantics lol
Stop. Please
This is horus shenanigans
🗣️ 🔥
🗣️ 🔥
u're a good man...
Then I like how some of the audiobook narrators clearly exaggarate when the title of the book is mentioned
Like in angel exterminatus he takes a weird pause before he says "angel.. exterminatus"
It's almost like not only it breaks the flow but also gives the VA brain damage
It is the end.. and the death
For the 70000th time
Is that in false gods
"In the far future, there will be only war" (i think it was sigismund)
"Indeed, Brother." Said Dorn, his voice low with the knowledge that his undying feud with his other brothers was now far darker than he had ever anticipated. They had gone beyond childish rivalry into a hatred so deep it darkened his soul.
"At first, there was Horus Rising. But he was tempted by False Gods, and put the Galaxy in Flames. Not even The Flight of the Eisenstein could warn is in time. Fulgrim led the Descent of Angels, and doomed his Legion, while we fought the Battle for the Abyss. The Mechanicum even turned upon us, and so there were Fallen Angels, and not even A Thousand Sons could stop them. Their Nemesis made sure of that when Prospero Burns, while The First Heretic Led us to an Age of Darkness among only The Outcast Dead, our Deliverance Lost. We would Know No Fear, but Fear to Tread admid the Shadows of Treachery and the Angel Exterminatus, fearful of our Betrayer. Even though Vulkan Lives, the Mark of Calth left its Scars, and the Vengeful Spirit of the Unremembered Empire lives on amid the Damnation of Pythos. The Legacies of Betrayal has only been Deathfire and War Without End, even in the Eye of Terra. Our Path of Heaven has been put off course by The Silent War, fought by the Angels of Caliban, the Praetorian of Dorn, as Corax, the Master of Mankind, and Garro have fought with them and the Shattered Legions. Old Earth will lie forever lost by the Ruinstorm of the Crimson King, and the Burden of Loyalty shall feel forever heavier. The Slaves to Darkness, Born of Flame, would be the Heralds of the Siege, as even the mightiest warmachines crumble in their Titandeath, from wounds inflicted by a Buried Dagger."
"The Solar War," he continued, "will be remembered for the Lost and Damned amongst it. The First Wall manned by the Sons of the Selenar, Saturnine and the Fury of Magnus, and the God-Machines Mortis flying like a Warhawk as we prepare for the Echeos of Eternity as we face the End and the Death followed by an Era of Ruin and the Ashes of the Imperium."
Roboute nodded solemnly.
The other far end
Final 3 end and the death parts 1-3
WHAT THE FUCK I WAS JOKING.
WHAT THE FUCK
Get to reading
Wtf lol

No fucking way they actually did that my eyes are not true
Have we said the imperial fist one yet?
Oh my GODDDDD
Absolute fucking cinema
It gets worse every line
Fucking combo breaker
You did a great job
Unfortunately you did. Very well.

I know king. Not as much a good guy as loyalist space marines though.
u lost my respect
Murdering men women and children in the name of the blo- God Emperor.

No we oil them up
I mean they use performance enhancing suit oils
Dang missus you know what
I’m getting really sick and tired of coming downstairs on Christmas and not finding lion El’Jonson oiled up in a bow under my tree😖
I very much thought you asked abominable intelligence to string those all together.
not enough bullet point symbols
Fair, although you can influence style quite dramatically these days.
Probably, its just prompts anyway
Valid
Lies. That's only 43 books. It still isn't any better if you finish all of them though.
summary of like 97% of the entirety of 40k
Maybe there were less then
It's a post from 2025, the last book was released in 2024. Not counting the anthology follow-up leading into the scouring
So it's lies.
All trash.
I’m so sad I missed out on grabbing a copy of this book’s edition. I went to the black library celebration at my local warhammer store this past Saturday, but I didn’t notice the new releases shelves where they had two copies of this book. But by the time I noticed, they had already been taken
7 months is pretty fuckin impressive going for the whole Heresy
It takes a year at best
idk what kind of number that is lol
you'd literally need to finish a book a day
Genuine question is that not a doable pace though
Unless you're unemployed lol
Some
Fulgrim was a fucking slog
Absolutely boring
The only good parts of fulgrim were ironically the Ferrus parts and then the dropsite massacre
Like yeah there’s a gay murder-sex orgy in la fenice but like by the time you reach that point you’ve fell asleep because the lead up is so boring.
And Fulgrims fall is so stupid like ohhh evil sword corrupted me I can’t put evil sword down ohhh it’s so silly.
Just throw the evil talking sword away Jesus
i wanna read it purely for his fall idc if the book fucking sucks
His fall is legitimately just boring except for the istvaan 5 part but it’s up to you
Like
The might like it
tho people overhype the ending extremely
I just thought it was boring and the action was extremely far and few between
Yeah i didnt mind it too much but its definitely not an amazing book lol
Big battle yay, 3 hours of talking, big orgy yay, 4 hours of talking, istvaan 5. End.
i read fulgrim after reading the fabius bile books and the difference was stark
Ferrus parts are the most boring parts lol
Book is overhyped but fine/10
orgy...?! SEX?!
Man I like Ferrus
Im really happy I picked up the Necrons book. I thought it was going to be real boring but I really like how Trazyn establishes the theme of Entombment and preservation.
I feel Orikan is going to symbolize the Necrons technogical advancement
Due to his utter disrespect of relics lmao
And focus on the future
to be fair its like universally praised
one of the most famous 40k books i think
it got re-released like 3 times
NOW its getting a fucking illustrated edition, its insane, no xenos book ever got this treatment lol
Oh shit.
Hell. Yeah.
What I want most are visuals because I am starving for Necron animation
The unfortunate part is
Its gonna be a minute before its downloadable
:(
And prolly expensive...

I'll read kingmaker after this probably
also the illustrations are like 6 or so in total and are really spread out across the book lol
also good call yeah, one of my fav 40k books
really fun, nothing depressing, tons of black comedy
also has an actual happy ending which is funny
Yeah actual comedy is what I want most
thats not lamia...
Yeah dont worry theres ton of it lol
the book literally has a bit where the Vindicare assasin is trying to explain what their mission is and briefing his team
and the Callidus is like
raises hand
"Why is a loser like you leading this mission"
🥀
FAHHHH
Shes so mean to him 😩
YEAH
its so funny
but dont worry yeah the book doesnt have anything depressing, its basically a fun action adventure, tons of likable characters
just be sure to read a bit of knight lore on the lexi beforehand so you arent confused
Yeah Kingmaker has tons of Knight stuff
stop being freak with random ones, be respectful girl
freaky time...
I wasnt expecting Big G in betrayer
Did I have a fever dream or is there a book where erebus goes around wrapping up loose plotlines after horus heresy
@tall phoenix ||Playing it out that a loyalist on a Tau world sabotaging the railgun ammo 40 years ago looked like the work of the psyker was absolute cinema||
Oh, very good.
“It is also a war-hammer”
“Horus’ Heresy has been ended, it is now the time for the Scouring.”
||Its actually hinted outright to be the work of Tzeentch as it outright says he laughs when the sabotage happens when its aimed at Hesh, ||
probably one of my favorite chapters of the book lol
The end was something
Man
the end made me feel tired by the end of it
just lying in the mud lol
"I think im gonna... rest for a bit."
||If Katarin didn't gaslight him, it's pretty ironic Valian ended up killing more people than her for the goal lol||
||Yeah she outright says as much which is great lmao||
Hesh might be the best depiction of a commissar ive seen, id legit place him above Cain and Gaunt
who are more romanticized versions that barely kill anyone which is impossible as a commissar
Gaunt tbh also had the polar opposite role of being a regimental commander at the same time, Cain is just a walking meme
Yeah agreed, Hesh i think says it best during the Tau mass assault
he has to kill dozens/hundreds to save thousands
while Kat outright says none of it matters, "do you know how many people die making a lasgun chargepack?"
Shes that ultimate Stalin "statistics" mindset
And Jens at the end ||just formulates a KIA report in her head and walks away lol||
YEP
After all of that
she really is just a piece of shit like most Kriegers lol
this man treated her like a human being and in the end it all meant nothing
Colonel Bronner seemed more down to earth than her despite being surrounded by kriegers all time
Ikr, but i do appreciate how this book basically established for me what Krieg are; just meat robots.
They are simply not human in any way, theres nothing inside them.
Lance ||just gets vibe checked by armsmen for breathing wrong lmao||
LMFAO MAN that shit made me sad
literally zombie movie trope of "ITS THE MILITARY THEY ARE HERE TO RESCUE US!"
😭
But yeah, if anything, the author would be better off writing Inquisition or other self-contained plots in the future, his framing for big battles is confusing and sloppy tbh
Anything outside that was 10/10
I can get the idea of how it might have played in his head but it kinda gets lost for a reader with just the words to see
Agreed the huge battles were the only parts I skimread, everything else is pure kino
It's nothing I minded but it wasn't memorable to me except John Cadia
"Yeah there's Glup, Shitto, Bobius and... the Cadian."
Guys, omnibus is the full Dan abnett collection right?
Which omnibus
But in a single book
Eisenhorn Omnibus by Dan Abnett
I do enjoy Backclotj for a Crown Additional
Can’t remember the Keeler Image though
its where he goes to an auction for a painting of pre-heresy horus iirc
It doesn't have Ravenor's trilogy, which is placed between Hereticus and The Magos
And unsure if all the short stories included in The Magos are included in this one
honestly wanted mostly the big 3
Ravenor is a direct continuation (and better)
There's no omnibus that includes them all though
and being all in one book certainly helps
wait is there an omnibus for the millitarum? i wanted to get 15 hours after but i belive its in one single book too
you've got a Eisenhorn omnibus and a Ravenor omnibus but no Inquisition Saga omnibus afaik
later there will be a Bequin omnibus for sure, after the last one gets released
There's like several of them + anthologies
i see
anyways, here's the Inquisition saga timeline

I bolded mainline novels and put italics on short stories, hid some spoilers
yknow any book where Fifteen Hours by Mitchel Scanlon is present?
There was an omnibus in 2019 but it's OOP, 15 hours also had an anniversary edition last year, fat chances to find it physical
Fuck
Backcloth for a Crown Additional 🗣️ 🗣️ 🗣️ 🗣️
So audible is having a sit wide sale which means like 3 dollar audio books im intending on buying the full hearsy collection any others I should pick up ( I finished gaunts ghost and the fall of cadia )
Dark Angels Audio Collection
Descent of Angels
Fallen Angels
Luther: First of the fallen
Cypher: Lord of the Fallen
Lion: Lord of the First
Lion: Son of the Forrest
Merir Astelan: Master of The First
Angels of Caliban
Savage Weapons
Night Haunter
The long Night
The Prince of crows
The lion (if you want to see Nemiels death)
Infact anything Dark Angel or Nightlord is peak so get all of them
Well a couple Dark Angels related books are peak, most are alright
Son of the Forest is the best of them because it finally does something interesting with the Fallen
I don’t think so honestly
Repentant fallen and those who were misled has already been told in previous stories
it's not just that but it also does it well
The only difference is this time, Lion forgives them so there’s no consequences.
I did like how they portrayed him basically having to plead his case that he didn’t fire at Luther first and the meeting with the first four risen basically has him at their mercy and if they believe he is a loyalist and Luther was a traitor.
I like this one too. It’s a repentant fallen who has forced all he did out of his memory and through telling his view of the fall of caliban he comes to terms with what he did.
The difference is that now it's not some few random fallen that might feel bad about what they did, but rather it's about Lion seeking for his wayward sons not in hatred and revenge but in redemption. The old way of just seeking out the fallen just for the sake of finding and killing them because muh secrets lessened the Dark Angels as a whole
I mean it’s a bit more than secrets
They hide it because of the shame that any one of the legion could betray the lion and emperor, That it was their own legion that burned their home, that it was their legion that killed the lion. They also take testimony to learn fully what happened.
This shame is also on both sides because if it wasn’t the fallen would have made themselves known and not do everything to hide their identities even when they don’t need to.
Totally unbiased
Unbiased is not a thing when every fan has favourites.
Get every Warhammer Crime and Warhammer Horror you can
Then get Valedor, Death Rider, and Twice Dead King Ruin
Seconded
But get Lords of Silence along the way
and lords of silence
Heresy collection as in every 68 book?

Don't ever touch the Salamanders HH books
Yes
I work third and have alotta tine to myself and have adult money unfortunately
Christ lol
Unironically ill listen to about 5 or 6 books a month i listened to the entirety of ganuts ghost over tbe corse of 2 months
tbh the entire Heresy is extremely disjointed and filler so its your decision but just be aware most of these books have nothing to do with each other and are pretty mid
so imo its a huge waste of money in comparison to reading actual essential books
Just check Ian's review of the Heresy in less than 20 mins and choose between the books rated 3.5 stars and above
never read
Yeah this
The Horus Heresy series spans 54 books and a ton of short stories, but with the move to the Siege of Terra, it's finally over! So let's run through every single book as fast as we can, and rate them from one to five er.... THINGS. It's time to review Black Library's Warhammer: The Horus Heresy novel series!
Check out EVENTS and buy MERCH on the...
This is probably the most "normal" and actually critical/unbiased review you'd get of the entire seires.
especially without a guy going "OMGGG MARINES LOOK OMG THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME I CLAPPED WHEN THEY SHOT THE BOLTERS"

i clapped until my hands bled after reading big marine crying because he got 9/10ths of a planet killed
Yeah also the loyalist propaganda gets really boring.
I will be checking this out tbh alot of it is i just need something to listen so I dint go insane listening ti my machene cut shit for 8 hours
Yeah I know but like some of the books are *EXTREMELY numbing, they'll ironically make your work feel longer
see all the Salamander books
Like I losten to an obscene amount of shitty creepy pasta my brain is numb already lmao
bro is COOKED
Most of the time it's the big world ending plot that ends in a wooops it was all for nothing back to the status quo and horus is slowly going towards terra
Ultimately 90% of the books don't matter
^
only like 15 out of 68 of them matter yeah
Working at 4 am be like that nobody to talk too so I will not sit here with this thing blasting noise in my ear
Special shout out to battle for the abyss and nemesis
I work on a laser cutter my job is babysitting a suicidal 5 year old that machene wants to kill itself and im there to make sure it dosent have the chance too
average hiver job
Shoutout to the movie Elysium that has a machine that shoots radiation that will tell you when its detected a human inside but doesnt automatically stop. It just sorta lets you know its killing someone
Nah tech adept that thing would def have a temper metal machene spirit and I gotta fix it or figure out why it has suddenly quit on me and Honestly I feel like I dint even know how I fix it 25% of the time
Praise be the ommnisiah
"Harley Quinn, you gave me cancer?"
Why are cadians so self righteous when they pushed Lorgar to chaos?
better question
Don’t listen to Dilara she’s tau biased
We have exterminatus’d before and we will exterminatus again
I’ve been going through the Vaults of Terra omnibus, definitely recommend. I’m on the second book atm
Nah Fallen Angels are peak homie
you cant even get up
But we get down
dont just stick with 30k, get some 40k books, i cant stress that enough

Finished chem dog
Good book
2 for 2 on guard books this year already
One tiny complaint about the ending but w/e
tell me spoilered i wanna know

||ending is a little abrupt and I want more, feels kind of like sequel bait||
AH fair, also tbh prob is
its like how the Short was literally a setup/sequel bait for this entire novel
yeah
Have you read "There is no anti-memetics department"?
I saw a reddit comment mentioned there is a related short story for the Chem Dog novel. Anyone know the name of it? I forgot
Those Without Mercy
It's the prequel to the novel
Thanks. I want to read that short story before the Chem Dog novel
Any of y'all read this guy's short stories?
new
And Vets of the Fall is like 6 short stories and a new novella from Crowe
all covering the same kasrkin squad, I think
Cadians.
Yey. [:
Steel Legion by James? Let's fucking go
Ghost Legion getting an audio release on the 17th
My nickname in college
the book called rok crackers should just be the movie deep impact
have a character who looks like bruce willis deliver an atomic to the rok on a dangerous mission
Only if it also stars Liv Tyler
Last day for the sitewide audible sale you filthy animals
are there any books about ephrael stern?
Are the cawl books good
There is Ephrael Stern Heretic Saint but I've heard it's middling
Very fun reads
id recommend all 3
lexi should have the reading order as well iirc
cries in sororita
Think her stuff is mostly in comics
also hasn't she been recognised by now?
like by the ecclesiarchy
Not really no
her name is literally the Heretic Saint
lol
most of her own Order doesnt even trust her
Genefather, The great work, and archmagos?
yeah and i think it has some Shorts in between again prob lexi it just to be sure

||Is there a shortened name for The Infinite and The Divine ||
||It took me rereading a page or two to realize Orikan was repeating time 💀||
I was told this book is worth rereading, it definitely is
||Orikan is. such. a sly. cunt. ||
TIaTD is one I often see
you prob then had the same reaction as Trazyn
"Wait a fucking minute. ARE YOU REWINDING TIME?"
"Uh no?"
fucking, literally.

|| "The Ammunos Dynasty", Trazyn paused to let the message sink in, "Will not come to claim it" ||
like 3 times over
its so funny
especially when you the reader and Trazyn are on the end of the time travel trick
Anyone got any good Tau book recommendations? I'm painting my pathfinders Kill team and I always like to listen to a book from the faction I'm painting to get me in the mindset
Elemental Council 10000%
one of the only tau-related fandom wide universally praised novels lol
which is a rarity
Hell yeah
Elemental council is peak
Alright it's in the queue, let me see what other kill teams I have to paint and if you guys have any other recommendations
Chaos cult, goremongers and tempestus aquilons are the only faction I don't have books for
Biased but the Cawl and Fabius trilogies are great. Main character is a guy who likes making things and stuff
I hate it, ||it's too short, damn GW and their 300ish page limits||

What's the Tau book where the dude kills an entire DA fortress
i still need to read the good tau books
i feel like they should be a heinously bad matchup for the IG but maybe thats why they keep winning the Damocles gulf wars
enemy has guns with twice the effective range, computer assisted targetting
the same goes for armor and artillery
The Tau would realistically win most engagements against the Imperium just from a tech standpoint.
They simply dont because plot
i guess numbers is all the imperial guard usually has anyway lol
Its not really that
like... the tau would just bombard them back, but they also just dont lol
but yeah from the tech its like a musket line trying to engage assault rifles
numbers dont mean anything when the enemy is outright annihilating you
which we DO see in shit like Taros where the tau destroy supply lines through guerilla tactics against a gigantic imperium force
and uhhh the guardsman literally just get shattered from starvation and morale drop lol
if they actually wrote the tau some computer guided artillery i feel like it would destroy the setting lol
driving around in leviathan
hypersonic round silently comes over the horizon and cores the whole thing
delayed boom
Correct lmao, i think the biggest wakeup call for how nerfed tau are was the stuff/footage that comes out of Ukraine.
People have NO IDEA how demoralizing and OP drone warfare is.
A single pack of cloaked railgun drones can probably decimate entire Guard companies, but again they just dont lol
true
yeah and tau got over like 50 drone types
they're small and nimble and have 2 guns each
"computer... destroy the enemy..."
if gw werent evil they'd write the tau as something that generals in the region are increasingly horrified and terrified by but the rest of the imperium looks down on because aliens
Lmao basically
soulstorm letting them have a railgun on a moon that just shoots any map was probably the closest thing i've ever gotten to that
Yeah Tau also literally constantly innovate lol
"they just MAKE ordinatus!!! they dont have to dig them up or anything!!!"
my dream situation that will never happen is space marines having to go "oh shit theres hammerheads get all the land raiders into cover"
but they hate us
the tau even have super great morale because they get the same amount of propaganda but also dont have the worst lives imaginable
tbh the hilarious part is the railgun would just penetrate those too until the authors goes "nuh uh"
yeah legitimately the whole idea of tau vs imperium conflicts is predicated on the idea that a group of armor railguns wouldnt obliterate any tank formation they came across with no casualties lol
along with guardsmen getting to shoot back
When you die to one shot your better off just forgoing any armor and just focusing on speed

its not like a railgun has appreciable travel time to change course in
(at nonartillery ranges)
i think one thing i always loved about the tau is that their railguns even vaguely suggested the idea that they used two rails and werent actually coilguns
scifi authors and artists take a college physics class challenge
Yeah again the Tau are just not written competently ever
because the moment they do that the entire opposing human army is dead lmao
its about as funny because a normal Fire Warrior of like 2-3 could literally kill a space marine from their pulse rifles
i think the tau as described but not written are a bigger threat than the tyranids lol
They would be if they got any good lore tbh
one of my biggest wishes was each edition expanding the Tau territory as well but they got like THE tiniest territory in 40k lol
unless their innovation hits a wall it seems like its outpacing the hivemind lol
tau is like a village
they gave them more territory but on the other side of a wormhole so they didnt have to fight the imperium and win
lmao yeah bsically
i didnt actually know they were in the region of ultramar lol
the absolute funniest thing GW could do is have the 500 worlds campaign come to a screeching halt at the tau
500 worlds having all the tau worlds by accident omegalul
i imagine they're not in the original 500 worlds because they never had imperial settlements and i dont think they counted uncolonized worlds but thats no reason to not collide
god their lore is literally "primitive race the imperium was monitoring got cut off by a warp storm for a while and when it went away they were a spacefaring militarily competitive civilization" its such a shame they get written like this
like the tau got to where they are from hunter gatherers in less time than from like, the middle kingdom of egypt to now
Basically yeah thats one of the funniest parts of their lore too lol
they're not just better at technology than the imperium they're better than humans as a whole
which i guess they at least finally gave them non warp ftl that's good
iirc the drives that tore the startide nexus are in service again now
wait what the fuck
even if this isnt up to date why was this ever the case
the T'au were retconned into possessing no true FTL until the invention of the AL-38 Slipstream Module.[1a]
so they colonized the rest of the area slower than light? and are still doing that now during wars?
because apparently the slipstreams arent back in service
Yeah its one of the most universally hated retcons on their side lol
and like one of THE weirdest
also more dumb lore
"hey im the ftl inventor dont run more than like 100 of these at once"
"ok we'll run 5000 thanks"
...
"wow these are so dangerous put them away"
Initial test flights were incredibly successful and allowed any vessel equipped with one to traverse the entire span of the Empire within a few days, a journey that previously required many months.[1a]
i guess the empire is only light months apart lmao
pretty lucky that they got even one star that close much less dozens of habitable planets!
(the nearest star to earth is 4.3 lightyears away, but we're kinda in the low density stellar boonies)
homies cant catch a break
oh huh despite stellar density being low proxima centauri is actually unusually close to us for a neigbor outside the galactic core
too bad the core is where the votann live instead lol
somehow
you uh, couldnt live in the galactic core either lol
scifi writers take an astronomy class challenge also
i know thats literally got its own page on tvtropes but god
i honestly hate how much it annoys me considering how narratively convenient bad astronomy is
dense asteroid belts are cool but they dont exist
sci-fi writers moment
i think the math is that if you take any arbitrary straight line through the center of an asteroid belt the odds of you hitting something are like .000001%
for crossing the whole thing
i guess the earth mars asteroid belt specifically probably the kuiper belt is even less dense
nasa doesnt even plan for crossing the asteroid belt they just assume its gonna be fine
Death Rider good
correct statement
Perfect* but yes
Known Krieg enjoy Dilara giving Death Rider a perfect score, checks out.
Rare dilara liking anything moment
Imagine the headline. "Dilara, watcher of Sopranos and hater of anything- exposed liking the Krieg!"
||Yall mfers not realising this is barely a Krieg book and more just focused on a Commissar who spends 2/3 of the book trying to find them while having 1 Krieg character whos his aide||

I'm hoping on the discussion for the slander.
Facts are irrelevant, it's all optics and now we have you on record as a Krieg enjoyer. Front page news.
Facts are always relevant, none of this will be pressed and ill make sure to hire the best Boeing assassins to remove you all

I know people at Boeing all it'll take is one phone call
All it takes is more money
💰
Main headline, "Darktide mod Dilara sends millions to Israel's aid"
Me describing the PR campaign I'm going to launch to convince everyone Dilara likes Krieg
Ok so when at the end of betrayer stuff happens and ||argel tal is killed by erebus, lorgar clearly doesnt like it since argel his fave son but why doesnt lorgar go rip his head off hinmself and just tell kharn who dids it||
Was that the plan
Or like
Didnt he just wanna get his hands dirty
||because kharn is infinitely worse to piss off than lorgar||
I always liked that they named it after a Poe story but its not the story
Because Erebus is in 40k. Nothing is gonna happen to him.
Its just contrived plot armor
Ohhhh
The title of every episode is also named after a Poe story and each ||death|| is themed after a Poe story as well, but it's never 1 for 1. It's always a spin on it.
Well he did teleport away
It's so peak
I also think every Usher is named after Poe character
Roderick and Madeline Usher from "The Fall of the House of Usher", Verna is an anagram of Raven who she represents, Auguste Dupin is from "The Murders of Rue Morgue", "The Purloined Letter", "The Mystery of Marie Roget" and "The Fall of the House of Usher", Arthur Pym is from "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket", Frederick Usher is from "Metzengerstein", Morella Usher is from "morella", Lenore Usher is from "The Raven", Tamerlane Usher is from the poem "Tamerlane", even BillT aka William Willson is from the story "William Wilson", Victorine Lafourcade is from "The Premature Burial", Camille LEspanaye from "The Murders in Rue Morgue", Napeolon Usher is from "The Spectacles", Prospero Usher is from "The Masque of the Red Death" and then finally Annabel Lee Usher is from the poem "Annabel Lee"
and like that's not even it, Longfellow the rival CEO is named after a contemporary "rival" of Poe's, the company Fortunado is from "The Cask of Amontillado", Roderick and Madeline's mother is named Eliza after Poe's mother and her death in the show represents a common fear of Poe's (being buried alive)
and so much more, it's such a masterpiece of a show
Like it's Poe references the entire way down yet still manages to create a new story that doesn't feel derivative or rehashed
I cant remember every bozo who survived
Like I knew he wouldnt die when I was reading it
Erebus is literally the guy that started the Heresy
hes the biggest asshole in all of 40k

This bozo still has shit to do before HH is over
Yeah I know I hate him with passion
Yeah hes great
I love ts guy
same
I cant forgive what he did to loken
"I cant believe evil satan man betrayed the super space nazis"
Loken was gonna make Abbadon think cringe
Sycar was right
Should’ve have had to wait for the Erebus to do it first smh

that scene is too comedic to be taken that seriously imo
he literally appears out of nowhere like a TF2 spy
and Abaddon just does nothing because plot armor
A: Why you kill?
E: He stop you from becoming sigma
A:Trvke
abby is basically just comically evil calgar equivalent
thats basically every chapter master
Erebus is also mad aura for having the balls to explain Samus while Abby’s got a sword to his throat and a bunch of Justaerin ready to rip him apart
plot armor is so comical in warhammer
instead of regular plot armor where dudes usually don't suffer from a normally fatal injury, they survive a fatal injury while suffering from it like nothing happened
this literally happens to the Khan in Siege
I’m the hand of destiny I can’t fucking die lalalalalalla
Big E then said no, not dead
I really hope at some point in a book some named space marine looks at a gaurdsman or something and says he won't bother learning there name because they'll be dead soon
LOL
Uriel ventris does this

Nahhhhh
most characters visibly recieve very lethal injuries and somehow suvive
bolter bullet in the back of your head ? nah im fine
melta turning my whole body to patty ? nah im fine cuz im angry
Jokes aside yes I would like that
Huron got shot in the face with a melta and got better
I think that’s the most absurd like
“How the fuck did you not die”
feel no pain +2
Like he got shot in the face with a melta, a flamer tank exploded in his face
And his armor fucking blew up
And he lived
he was just really angry and had good friends
because apparently anger increases your survivability
warhammer logic
I think huron is like
the equivalent of surviving diving on a frag grenade
only to end up as angry robocop
@severe trail also finished Chemdog
I think its good but goddamn the bolterporn DRAGS
i found myself skimming some of it lol
There's a lot of bolter porn but that scene of the tremor cannon was beautiful
So... Apostle had potential and it ended up in a midfest
I give it a rating of nicecoverart/10
Started Valedor last night
(From the Great Devourer omnibus)
Is the story where that space station gets swallowed by a bio ship and everyone gets digested alive in this?
thats the white scars one
Ahhhh shame
tbh thats like THE only famous part of that entire book
I really enjoyed that excerpt
ive never seen anyone shared any other excerpt from it but that scene
also yeah exactly for that reason lmao
an avatar of khaine gets rekt'd in the first few pages of Valedor
thats tradition
Almost every time a avatar of khaine shows up it gets killed
Avatar of Killed
Vaul works at BL so Khaine must die at all times
I just looked this book up and I need to buy it so fast 😤
I can’t remember where I heard this but apparently there are kind of detective thrillers in the 40k universe and I’m wondering if you guys know any
Warhammer Crime
its literally called that
its not all detective stuff but its all that sort of stuff adjacent
So simple my dumb ass didn’t think of it
Start with bloodlines
then pick literally anything and go from there
Bloodlines is the only book of the bunch thats mandatory before you read the rest
Ok thank you
I cant find it as a paperback. I did by the 30 bucks bl audio book tho. Albeit that i havent found time to listen to it yet
Why I read astartes novels, we are not the same
Should I start the Yarrick, Gaunt's Ghosts, Ciaphas Cain, or Macharius books first?
Entirely depends on what you wanna read tbh
- Yarrick and Macharius are self-contained books, extremely underrated and largely forgotten by the fanbase but are pretty good/fun reads
- Cain is a generally outdated comedy series where the moment you read 1 book you basically read all of them as the author always rehashes similiar plots, tropes and structures
- Ghosts is great but just has way too many books and is a series you should prob read on and off.
Are the Vaults of Terra books good?
Yeah they are.
But depends on what you are looking for
Absolute goat, everyone might think hes a freak but so are the greatest artists 😔
Yeah. Like Thorpe. Who's kink it is to talk like an unholy amalgamation between a 13 year old "ahem akshually" nerd and a guy that recently discovered Kant and Shakespeare....
Like eating shit
what did he mean by that...
Yeah. Fits a monastic order of braindead super soldiers.
he doesn't know
Ask imperial fist||ing|| fans
At least he wasnt heinlen
"This book also needs a hot secretary who's in love with a man as elderly as i am" (and more!)
Fits the Imperial Fists
Such is the power...
Of nagash
Been reading Cadian Blood, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
Bro I cannot fucking take it with how Necrons process time bro
STANDING AROUND. SILENTLY THINKING OF AN ANSWER FOR 3 YEARS

Reading infinite and the divine I see
Ever so slowly
But yes
Is it bad I sorta wanna be a cron overlord? Probably not thinking about the grander issues
One primarily being boredom
Oh yeah and the fucking politics of being one
God
Just everything trazyn and orikan has is so fucking cool
No physical pain or strain. So much that you don't even need chairs anymore bruh
Holy fuck
im glazing this book too hard
its like crack
I guess being a necron makes even that more bareable, no actual headache
But are they as cool as Baknephet the Fathomless
Mental Health and physical health are two entirely seperate things with crons which is a huge plus.
your body is just steel, your mind is uh, something idk.
Something is there
I like chronomancy a lot in this book
Its just so fucked.
it's a good time
And the idea of just pausing time/slowing down your chronosense to just think for a while
I just wanna take a moment to glaze Baknephet some more, look at how cool she is
is that a diff book
nice
I quite like how it is done in Twice Dead King, read One Million Years and Twice Dead King also
the author of Twice Dead outside references crons experiencing body dysmorphia which is a huge thing
i didnt think about that part ngl
It has one of my all time favourite necron writing bits
About the nerves firing that aren't there and wanting to breathe but you can't
you should read it, go on
im busy playing csgo and finishing off this chapter at the same time
csgo? a person of your talents? really?
✅
im trash at this game
We know
Can anyone recommend me a cool book from 40k thats not 1 million dollars or sum
Im new to 40k btw
pinned messages has a good list of starters
also any books selling for 100s of dollars are after market out of production books by people hoping to get an easy buck, almost all novels are available digitally and most recent ones are available physically. They do reprints every now and then too
Infinite and Divine
gets constantly printed out
Cuz its very popular
Just as a helpful quick-link: #40k-book-club message
Death Rider, the only good Krieg book?
Is it really?
I haven't been able to finish a Death Korp of Kringe novel.
Not familiar with the author though.
There was a lot of talk about it here a month back after it had been released
Everyone here who read/listened it here liked it a lot
Even Dillara?
Especially her
Good lord.
Well, I guess I'll add it to the list.
I came here to make my annual bitch-post about Pandaemonium still not being out. Got talked into considering a Krieg novel instead.
Dan R. R. Abnett
The book is probably already written, GW is just pushing back it's release to fit some other in world event they want to tie it in with probably
Pretty sure Abnett said it’s done
They just won’t let him release coz
of the Amazon Show apparently
Of which there is also zero information right?
Yes
The amazon show being a reason or part of a reason is pure speculation, no?
I’ve heard claims he said so
I’d consider it speculative for now
But it’s all we have afaik
I guess now that everything's Era Indomitus we'll never see that live adaption of Eisenhorn/Ravenor. Cavill would of been great as Gregor.
He's not scruffy enough
Agreed
but something original could be nice too
Before I judge either of you too harshly, who would be your choice for Eisenhorn?
Ralph Ineson probably
I've not done much fancasting ever tbh
But he has the voice and bearing for it
Jason Isaacs could work too
Depends on which book
Early on Isaacs
Maybe Fiennes later
Isaacs definitely, Ineson I can't abide.
Eh, I think casting different actors for different ages a bit much.
I'll throw Rufus Sewell into the ring.
I'm going with the assumption we'd get to see one age eisenhorn
Never heard of him
Haven't watched it, nor anything else he has been in it seems now that I looked him up
besides The Legend of Zorro
been meaning to at some point
Ooh I think he’d do a good Ravenor
The guy described as Aeldari looking XD
Ravenor is described as a tall and slender man with high cheekbones, almost elfish
Think Cillian Murphy but less scruffy
Though he isn't that tall
Cavill would do a better Ravenor than Eisenhorn, but I wouldn't want to see him as him either
Glaw
Yeah sure
Pontius Glaw, the guy who exists in a non corporeal form for much of the series?
Yeah
You'd waste that face on it?
I mean he could do a killer voice I’m sure
I don't think his face is really the main selling point for something like 40k
Just do what everyone else does and get Mark Hamill.
Idk who to put it on
Commodus Voke maybe
to be frank I'd prefer he didn't have a role at all but would focus on producing the show
