The crux being that grey knights are distinguished from other psychic forces around the galaxy by their gestalt squad aura. They’re super linked to and coordinated with each other

It’s also a nice contrast to 1000 sons who are explicitly lone sorcerers trying to outdo each other and commanding a bunch of automatons

And there’s sort of an echo of the Emperor’s vision for humanity of apes together strong & maybe even of his own origin as a gestalt being
