Because the police and the military there actually does shit.
24/7 gang warfare
And genestealer and custodes warfare
But there are also gene stealers
Normal day in Commorragh.
The military does shit lol
and galactic city doesnt cover the planet fully and it can still produce some of the resources needed to support said city
Also comorroagh is unironically safer then terra
And eveeyone once and a while a custodian cones around and beats the shit out of your neighbor
Comorroagh is bad
Commorragh is basically so big that theres "safer" areas
But a lot of areas are safe
And that’s where people live
Because if you commit a crime you’ll become a new flesh painting
Yeah it has an entire mercenary "district" thats as big as a country
Yeah
Also ironically xenos mercenaries
thanks writers
Sslyth Gang
Lol
well yeah, the mercs cant just kill you and take your place in the hierarchy
With the Dark eldar > eldar > everything else
Yeah theyre not gonna kill you for being a different race
They’re gona kill you because they think it’s funny
They will just direct a nid swarm to you instead of them
And then go
thats the craftworlders
dark eldar wont kill you because they need your pain to live and avoid being vored by Slannesh
Sec Maegra gaming
Eldrad has such a silly name
Beat game against eldar i ever had i killed eldrad turn 1 with 6 Custodes jetbikes
Because it is lmao
Humanity literally kills its population in the trillions daily
nobody is gonna miss a few planets
Shouldnt have summoned the kink vore god
Shouldn't have fed 4 chaos gods and split the galaxy in half
hey, no one said the xenos get to do that

Atleast when we did it, it was cooler and got a whole book series
Yeah and it SUCKED
oof
Yeah o lt bumans are allowed to do that
At least the Asurmen book is nice
Bad take boooo

Anyway yeah Terra is just China but as a planet
enjoy the smog
hey now, at least Abby actually won and didnt get his ass beat by some MacGuffin of a Mary Sue space marine
it does but we are used to it at this point as a fandom
theres a reason they are the Heel faction
Good
yeah GW needs something for their beloved SMs to punch
Look i get it
Your average imperial player will huff copium daily thinking they are the saviors of humanity.
Meanwhile most chaos players reasoning goes to "Lmao I like killing."
Not all factions can be as cool ad blood angels
I wish that was the most reasoning they did
Saving humanity? Fuck thay noise
Im here to kill xenos and heretics
Protecting humanity is barely a side effect
which is why i love it when the imperium is shown as having that exact same mentality and those fools still fail to see that
huffs copium
The Chaos gods aren't evil!
huffs copium
Yeah
"he'd totally care if I killed a baby!"
Im sure its why the poxwalkers ingame are begging for help
I mean he would
But onlt because thats more blood for the blood god
Yeah I'm apathetic and melancholy and I sure as shit ain't happy
omg, friend of mine got into warhammer recently and got hooked on that copium almost instantly, im still trying to break him off it :/
My brother did that lmao
Just explain to him that they off themselves once near blanks
i did
That or just
dead
You ever see an unironic chaos worshipper
I have
Interacting with them was not pleasant
and he managed to do some impressive mental gymnastics to make that out to still be that Nurgle cares about his follows lol
it was, painful to hear
Yeah he cares
About how much worse he can make the disease eating away at them
yeah
Also Xenos only exist so Chaos has something to stomp on when le Imperium hero kills a random chaos lord
Just give them the exerpt of the plague marines being cut off the warp
And then screaming
And dying
i need to find that
It’s in one of the gathering storm books
The Cadia one
It happens when the pylons get turned on
Darkfiend Maulslayer of the Baby slayers is beheaded by Droogus Dingus
Baby slayers blow up a craft world during temper tantrum
i hate how possible that sounds
Yeah Warhammer naming conventions aren't particularly good
The total war random name generator is great
They added "Chungus" to the ogre name pool and idk how to feel about it
throngler will never not be amusing
"I'm totally not chaos hehe" - Sarpedon, Chapter Master of the Soul Drinkers while talking to guests awestruck at his set of arachnid legs
Lmfao
that is one of the most cursed and blessed things i have read, so same
It do
yes
As long as it's not Slaanesh.
Penal legion names be like
the penal legions have names? outside of the 2 special ones
A couple
Actually only one doesn't have a nickname from the "known" ones
(btw we are literally just Inquisitorial Chem dogs)
I really do like how you dont even use real "money"
its just makeshift currency for the legion you cant use anywhere else, and the only real "money" is for the Premium Shop, its really funny
of what i know of the imperium's economy that is exactly how it works lol
all the currency is local
literally not even exchangeable afaik lol
its like the company stores but on a galactic scale
Yeah in this case I meant more that you literally just earn "Inquisitorial dockets" which is just made up currency for the battallion to use
because why pay these expendable soldiers real money
ye
Thrones meanwhile is mentioned in a lot of books so its just what you use for actual money
what about logan's world
afaik the local pop doesnt even use those. they just use whatever the fuck monopoly money they get given from their workplace/hivecity kek
Yeah its never really said i think
btw, what was Cadia like? was it just endless trench lines battlements bunkers and hablocks?
Imagine if every city is also a fortress
And everything that's not a city is covered in defence lines
Heavy, very heavy defence lines
imagine growing up in a place like that
with the literal gateway to hell hanging in your sky
Hey, you get purple eyes in return
You don't really grow up in a place like that
no you dont
You train up in a place like that
yup
Eat clen tren hard and see red before you kick heretic ass
this says a lot about what living on Cadia was like
First thing a newborn hears on a fortress world is "welcome to the guard"
yup
Some of the careers also dont make sense admittedly
like the Progena one especially
I'll be honest I don't remember my choices
same
like i think what is implied to have happened is "you where very young when Cadia fell and ended up in the Mobian sector
Not like I can look em up anymore anyway
i literally made this vet 2 days ago so that is the only reason kek
Technically the vet saw cadia fall
yeah but just as a kid is my guess
I think it was more like what made him a vet, then the regiment post evacuation got relocated to the fringe worlds
that could only work if said regiment was made into the Mobian 56th
Tbf the regiment is never given a name
Or wait if was?
Anyhow, it could still happen
most of the vet options for the 3rd choice says the Mobian 56th
i think Ogryn also mention the 56th
This may sound silly I know they have emotions but do Astartes do "fun" things like have hobbies? Or joke around like we humans do?
but yeah i can see a case of the 56th being made up of cadian survivors and sector locals
depends on the chapter and how much they have on their plate
Some chapters let their marines have hobbies
Blood Angels and a lot of successors encourage the arts
Space Wolves get shitfaced
Its just hard to imagine them not being these serious, almost cold superhumans despite being normal humans before their transformation
Just purely curious
literally inventing the only alcohol that works on astartes
so it would kill a normal human with a single sip?
Perhaps no ones lived to tell the outcome
That one vahallan ice warrior that tried it and lived
If I remember right yes
yeah but, he was a Vahallan, their blood is pure potato wine so they dont count lol
Basically think of it as a 150% pure alcoholic beverage
Its not when you read their books believe me
in the Devastation of Baal just before the tyranids arrive in the sector
all the BA and their successors dress in robes
drink wine and do mock fistfights
since its just their version of having a last bit of fun before the nids arrive
Space marines are super powered frat boys
The true reason for no fem marines is the no girl allowed rule
Because after all they are giant 12 to 16 years old frat boys
hell some of those are literally just fratboy hazings when you think about it
like it's still really high %
Tbf pure alcohol is not healthy either
Ik
I do need to read more Astartes books tbh
it shuts down thier liver
to let them get drunk
that's why it kills normal humans
Ask r/40klore for some recommended readings
Space Marine books are either Pure Shit or Pure Gold
no in-between
Thank you I shall when I get round to it 😄
Btw I want a mentor legion animated series where it's just them fucking around with failing weapon tests
Having seen primaris CSM mentioned a few times recently, I recall vaguelly in one of the Iron Warriors books that the Main Character is an Iron Warrior that was made with Imperial Fists gene seed. Is that an isolated thing or more widespread that CSM harvest gene seed to build their ranks?
Because I'd imagine that'd explain Primaris CSM away fairly easily if they ever did a model refresh.
CSM usually steal gene seed yes
iron warriors def do
idk about the others but I assume they must a little at least
yeah daemon worlds dont have a lot of the stuff needed to make geneseeds or most other SM kit, so the CSM have to steal
That said, with most CSM being super old. They could probably explain a refresh away by them just being ancient and geing swole.
the whole of the cursed thing that is annoying to bring up was to make using stolen geneseed easier iirc
Only problem I can see with primaris chaos marines is that they need the Rubicon too
iirc there is a lot of lore about how CSM will pounce on the body of a slain brother to strip it of anything they can use
I mean that weapon ain't gonna use itself
Only required to make Firstborn into Primaris though right?
Even loyalists do that, it's a side effect of "oh hur humanity forgot how to make the best stuff"
That's true my bad
only those chapters that dont have good ties with the admech
because while yeah the good stuff is not being made anymore the standard stuff is still easy to make
with the CSM they dont have that
Btw this made me imagine a emperor children going into the Rubicon more for the kick of the operation than the results
OK so 40k is set in a hypothetical future of our real world so I have an important question
How much do you think a first edition holo charizard is worth

Mint?
I bet big e had one
I was about to say somewhere in the 6-8 range because of how old it would be but I can see trazyn having one mint in stasis so yeah mint
The entirety of trazyn collection
I don't know why but for some reason thinking about that made me want to make an Inquisitor OC based off Montague Summers
in first of the fallen, he was a pyker who taken up the roll of cypher after they departed Caliban. i just assumed they were the same person but htinkinga bout it probably not lol
DID SOMEONE SAY LORGAR>?!?!?
it's the reward if you find a fully functional STC device
I did in fact mention the bookboy
It's by itself a fully functional stc device
We need more Lorgar
I really feel like the community often overlooks his raw devotion and fanatical beliefs. It could be a really cool thing to explore

the new arks of Omen campaign in Warhammer 40k is shaping up to be pretty wild. The first book has introduced us to a brand new villain, Vashtor the Arikifane. a mechanical demigod of the soul...
so an Ark of Omen is a space hulk brought to life
how big is the rock?
Its basically the piece of a planet
so very big, dwarfs most imperial ships
Note all the vessels on its sides
It's quite a few times bigger than a Gloariana
Does a Black Stone Fortress rival in size with it?
Prolly not
phaalanx is comaprible in size with a blackstone iirc
it's also conveniently sword shaped
which as silly as it is
is fucking rad as hell
True
Has there been a stated comparison to the rock in lore I wonder?
it's like
a cored out chunk of a planet
it is an almost perfect sword shaped piece of caliban
that they made warp capable
it's size is yes
I understand that it’s a chunk of a planet. But as far as I know it’s just been called one of the biggest imperial vessels
It's hardly a vessel
The Phalanx and Blackstone fortresses are the size of like, a small moon
The Rock is a massive chunk from a planet that blew open
as big as it's needed to be for the story
It's just big
it is aproximately 10 non descript units in size
true
We know the rock is large enough to have the entire fortress monastery and have room left over
Imperial Craftworld
A space hulk but it actually works as a ship yes
I though the rock was literally a giant boulder, like an ork asteroid
It's a piece of Caliban
I knew it was a chunk of their planet, just didn't think it actually somewhat resembled a ship
As in, literally a chunk of the planet that got blown off and was made warp capable
I need to look at more space hulks too, in my head they are all giant balls of scrap and rock with guns and engines pointed out
I want to draw
Farith Redloss
As the first Supreme Grand Master
I forget though, did the DA pick up the green straight after Caliban?
And should I give him a helmet?
compared to the black colour from rogue trader during the great crusade?
Ye, they ditched it because of the whole Caliban shebang but I'm not sure exactly when
i love people debating why the cicatrix maledictum shouldn't be visible from the entire galaxy due to how light travels when it's a tear in reality
Is that the Dawn of war artifact thing?
Id rather suspend my disbelief for a good visual
Not like 40k is ment to be hyper realistic
no thats The Maledictum
how could you mix up such a thing, shame on you

I know I already asked this but I forgot, what loyalist chapter/successor does the most cannibalism?
Loyalest Cannibalism just is perfect 40K for me and idk why
Dragonspears.
flesh eaters maybe
Mortifactors, flesh eaters, blood drinkers, dragonspear are the big ones
Wasn’t flesh eaters eating flesh just a myth?
No they still eat flesh
They don’t canabalize imperial forces is the myth lmao
Oh my fault, not the best at remembering stuff
Weird that fantasy slurs exist in 40K, IE green skins
When the BA successors start killing friendlies
This message was approved by Gabriel Seth of the Flesh Tearers
Makes sense but like, it’s not like there’s more then 2 species of orks
While AOS and fantasy had like 7
(And in AOS 2 of them don’t have green skin but what ever)
Tbh greenskins isn’t even a slur in 40k
Considering the orks call themselves the green tide at times
Oh lol
green is the bestest so why would they be offended by it
Basically green skins is just the other races trying to insult the orks but they forget one thing
Orks don't care
No matter how many words you called them it won't matter when they you shoot you in the head with the giant gun that has five chainsaws attached to it
Knife ears for eldar
Greenskin a the name the Orks give to themselves
I know there’s another one
The orks call them panzies
If anything green skin is a compliment for the orks
Because green is best
Which means having green skin means you're the best
I mean, I never seen a purple ork
OH yeah admech probably has the most slurs, because only admech like admech
wherent the blood angels has a whole a lot like that before they found sanquinius?
I heard cog head and metal man
The revenant legion yeah
Cog head, metal man, tin head
There’s more
All hilarious
There’s probably an admech database with every slur ever made
Corpse Grindr is a very strange concept
Aren’t those the guys who make corpse starch?
idk, calling the only person able to maintain your kit a slur when they are in ear shot seems like a really really bad move. so they may not know about a lot of them
I love all the different words different places in the imperium have for fuck
we got kark, frak, frag
in Darktide its Kark and i unironically use it irl sometimes
They used their Cartoon Network free curse word 25 years ago
ogryns say grut at least in game
Also just straight up fuck
As well sometimes
The local swears in 40k are always funny
ah the English language and its ever cursed evolution
I know there’s an AOS slur for nurgle worshipers
enlighten us
It was ‘rot men’ or something
Roters
yeah
thats a bit more slur sounding yeah
I’m 80% sure it was in the best/worse story in the AOS audio story collection
what would you call the other gods worshippers
Where the guy joins every chaos god (somehow)
both khorne and slaanesh can be skullfuckser or something
piss them both off
nerds for tzeentch
Bird boy
i thought they was a death sentence unless your name was Archaon
Some guy was a chaos undivided warlord, and then met a girl and joined Slaanesh
And then his legion died from over eating
So he murdered her and joined a nurgle cult
And then a tzeentch guy came and was like ‘hey wanna be cool’
And then he agreed and transformed to normal
that tzeentch fellow
sounds like a good lad
surely he won't betray him
does he?
oh ok so he wasnt trying to join all 4 at once. just moving from god to god
Plenty of people follow Chaos as Undivided
yeah but i thought Mag meant getting the blessings of all 4
Those are rarer
its hella risky afaik
Some dudes having minor blessing from more than 1 god can exist, but all 4 would be very difficult to do
yeah
but they never really get talked about because they aren't usually very important
And then when his tzeentch legion was attacked by khrone he is told he was chosen to be a lord of khorne
And then wears his armor and kills everyone
And then he attacks those flying dwarves
And does
Dies *
No his best friend does
and then his son
It’s funny because they ahve been planning how to kill each other and their plans foils the others plan
And then his best friend was sick of it and grabbed a knife and he just went
that's very tzeentchy
crunch
that is literally pure Tzeentch
Yeah it was the shortest but best part of the story
The Slaanesh part was the longest but porbably the worst
As there was a much much better Slaanesh story in the collection
fitting for the worst chaos god
That award goes to the rat
hey now, the horned rat and the skaven are cool
‘Hey guys let me help you out’ makes a hole from the one of the biggest under cities to the bottom of the ocean
‘Whoops-‘
‘Anyway’
bah its just one undercity
minor skaven victory
lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPEN039QB2M i still dont know if i like the Nagash model or not
like he looks cool but at the same time a little generic
You mean 4 billion traitors yes yes
Uh oh
like i love him and the nighthaughts
also about that video, couldnt Nagash just delete Manfred in like a millisecond even before being a god?
tbf Starscream was far from useless, the dude was the master of harvesting and refining energon
he was just unreliable and always trying to take the top spot
plus Megatron always had Soundwave to help him slap Starscream back in line when ever he tried to take it
He finds it amusing to boss Manfred around
i bet
Soundwave was the real MVP its true
who else would you have deploy a tape casette from his chest and kill someone with it
100%. Soundwave is the best Decepticon hands down
Bay movie decepitons
They at least sort of look cool, unlike later autobots
Like the Einstein looking goon who gets executed war crime style
imo the decepticons have always looked better than the autobots imo, save OG megatron
bad guys always get cool designs
who had his whole look ruined by that giant scope on his arm lol
That was supposed to be wheeljack
he turns into just a gun
yeah
My favorite transformer designs are the ones in prime
Then again
I grew up with those so
bias
I liked Smokescreen
i dont think i wantched that show, was he at least the logical and dependable one of the 3?
Yes, he’s easily the most competent and rational of megatrons Lt’s
good
nice
You ever stop and think how stupid most of their names are
yes and its great, just like with dragon ball names
Dragging Balls is very well named yeah
Lmfao
lol
Comedy
Someone should be shot for those movies in general
LMAO
best line in the movie
Especially the newer ones
The first transformers is great
the others are just
more complicated lore than 40k
3-4 times "Transformers were on earth before"
Now from what I hear, Chicago had it coming
LOL
okay so
lets start from the beginning
so the allspark
landed on earth and the arctic like
around the 60's i think?
or even longer, since Sam's ancestor finds it
I thought it was like 1800s
Yeah that
now next movie
we got the uhh
pyramids
and it does show african tribesmen i think?
so thats even BEFORE
suck the power out of the sun or something
Yep, because landing ships
and the 4th movie goes crazy and transformers were like
in the napoleon era
WW1
WW2

Then 5th movie
King Arthurs buddies as well
was fucken merlin a transformer
By the way you guys forgot Earth Is Unicron
No Merlin and Arthur were still just dudes
Merlin was a drunkard
Merlin was the one that found the transformers
GOD
Mark Wahlberg is a descendant of Arthur or something, fitting considering he's racist
I mean
Yes
seriously, if this keeps up it will reach a point where the humans use to be transformers that got made into organics
I have like
Bumblebee was a war criminal in WW2
one of the really old movies for transformers
and god like it's not a bad movie
but the names
OMEGA SUPREME
turns into a mf battleship
Also all the other autobots get completely written out if the lore after the US accidentally wipes them out
tell me you are running out of ideas for names without telling me you are running out of ideas
Meanwhile in the new one they just did a weird mesh of g1 and beast wars
That was fucking hilarious
because apparently
the U.S government has no idea
its the CIA doing it
LMAO
Pointless Hub?
Oh no like
the joke is IRL too
the US government has no idea
what the fuck the CIA does half the time
since they act like the Inquisition almost
it has no idea what more than half its Agencies do
The CIA and FBI having a proxy war with each other in the Middle East
There once was a series about robots that turned into stuff. The series itself would perform the biggest transformation of all. Into a horrific abomination spanning five movies.
But before that happened, there was a single movie. A single dream. A single spark of actual integrity. The one and only decent Micheal Bay Transformer movie. Transfo...
If I had a nickel
He released the latest one
For everytime the CIA and FBI had a proxy war with each other
Ik watched it
I’d have 3 nickles
Which isn’t a lot
But it’s weird it’s happened 3 times
On 3 separate continents
the NSA are literally just irl ordo hereticus
If only Wahlberg got a brick, apparently he's very accurate with them
LMAO
"I'm an inventor!"
Said by the most Un-Inventor person
I agree lmao
Donnie Wahlberg, boy band singer and Band of Brothers star
And there's the youngest guy who made fucking
"Wahlburgers"
Meanwhile Mark here does crappy movies and gets slammed for racist stuff he did 30 years ago lmao
I love Cody
Truth be told, the more I think of it. Prospero Burning was objectively a good thing. TS was already walking that line of the Sith. I think we can safely say they would have went Chaos one way or another. At least Russ and SW managed to cull the herd before they did.
🍿
🍿
Had Russ and the Wolves not attacked, would Magnus have used his power to warn the Emperor ? And in doing so causing thr Rift on Terra and all that jazz ?
Magnus did that before the wolves attacked
in fact it was that very act and lead the emperor to send the wolves there
btw, who raised Magnus on Prospero after he crash-landed there?
it was also horus that told leman to kill magnus
yeah
and iirc leman actually tried to contacy magnus before going in
but magnus didn't pick up
we sadly dont know what plans the emperor had for Magnus
they where using the wrong vox channel iirc lol
i read that on reddit so i hope its not
Bunch of the scolars from prospero
but it is sadly well within GW's range of dumb as fuck writing so it may be true
He was going to fuel the throne.
It's pretty plainly stated
He was the throne's battery
Magnus tho fucked up and wanted to kill himself by the time Russ arrived
So he sabotaged Prospero's orbital defenses
And didn't even want to join the fight until basically all his sons told him to go fuck himself
lol
yeah i literally forgot that
It's a pretty massive misconception that Russ never actually got the order to grab him
Because he did
In Leman terms (heh), he was just following orders.
Leman russ came in with the steel chair
yeah the emperor ordered Russ to drag him back to terra
Horus lied and told Leman "actually father wants you to kill Magnus"
Silly puppy, listening to the Chaos man
Don't think we know what he said iirc, but I figure he just gave him the idea that if Magnus happened to die it wouldn't really hurt
With the return of Lion, I found myself pondering what the general disposition of a Primarch would be towards a corrupt, secretive, and bureaucratic Imperium absent the Emperors daily governance?
Do they follow the orders of the governing body?
Do their own thing?
Do their own thing
Guilliman currently holds the second most authority in the imperium and I doubt Lion would listen to a corrupt noble
Does this create a power imbalance? Primarchs have the ability to gain much public support
Primarchs are literal demigods to the people
They have immense public support on most worlds
yeah
btw. is the fact the black library in the lore is filled with clowns and ruled by a clown god some kind of meta joke on GW's part?
Most likely
thats great
Was from the time GW was having more fun
That is a meta joke
They are calling themselves clowns
is it really a joke when its the truth?
lol
I can’t wait for GW to mention the planet Birmingham again
Only to have it consumed by the great rift
Are they hobo clowns or regular old circus clowns
would that even effect the world? afaik its already a world no sane person wants to go to
It raises regiments and is a space marine recruiting world
So sorta? Not really

Are there any Admech(Or affiliated) members that aren't heavily modified with cybernetics? Like a normal human face that doesn't look like its been shoved with Ethernet Cables? less...grotesque I guess?
Genetors?
The newest additions to the Admech tend to be the least modified and they change more over time.
There are also magos biologis who focus more on the biological but a lot of them end up modifying themselves anyway to prolong their life.
Magos Biologis
"Subject species "Ork," height is 218.6cm, 25.56cm above observed mean. Mass is 163.15kg, consisting mostly of dense skeletal structure and musculature, and 31.4% above observed mean. Epidermal layer is thick and lacking in nerve endings compared to the human norm. Pain response is... less than anticipated, demonstrating extreme tolerance for di...
Their beliefs are incredibly based
imagine the moment a biologis discovers how to make human ork spores and starts cloning itself
Now that I think about it... Skitaari army with ork bodies as a biologis skitarii legion
Would be a bit of a problem for the model size maybe
Didn't they tried that but with genestealers, at least unknowingly
They can already clone themselves without that.
yeah the imperium has cloning tech
Oh yeah in……Day of Ascension
There's a group of spire nobles in necromunda that are clown themed
Don’t forget those clowns have some of the most brutal close combat weapons at their disposal.
lol

Thats what we call BASED
If spongebob taught me anything, it's that bubbles are dangerous
Teleports goblin into your ribcage
The bubble chucka literally throws bubble force fields at you that explodes
But of course that thing is just as ridiculous
It's definitely effective
It's like throwing a blender inside the target
Yup. The Harleys can definitely do the anime thing and turn people in to clouds of blood.
Brother there's a gun that literally deconstructs the target, atom-by-atom
I don't think that's the most ridiculous thing in warhammer
Plus I just find the whole razor wire as a weapon thing to be viscerally awesome.
And these aren't even the dark eldar
Yeah the Harley weapons will kill you. The clowns aren’t trying to keep you alive.
Unless they are
The razor wire kill means your death will be painful but at least will be quick.
If you get hit with one of those two weapons you aren’t getting back up.
Looks at tyranid bio weapons
I agree
I’d rather get turned in to a cloud of blood instantly than get eaten alive by a tyranid gun shooting beetles at me.
Or brain burrowing worms
When the gauss doesn't kill you instantly
Oof
That is definitely painful
Im late but
These are just random movie clips I compiled together but its an accurate showcase of what the "effects" of most Dark Eldar weapons are like
You know what, these are very fitting in 40k
Its pretty much what some of their weapons do yeah
Mostly black hole nades, monofilament wires, dark matter, etc
What are some tendencies with homebrews you guys dislike
Warhammer homebrew or dnd?
Severe Mary/Gary Sue symptoms
For me it's
Obligatory Slaanesh SoB
or
Obligatory "fuck the codex" while knowing nothing about it
Warhammer
God
these hit close to home
Not at best at homebrew my knowledge is pretty much surface level so
Can't provide any answers
Who've just been
"They did the sexing now they omega slaanesh champion"
It's annoyingly prevalent
I'd be reading like, a living saint character
And randomly it'd just have "She fought a Keeper of Secrets who teleported a slaanesh piercing into her heart which is slowly corrupting her"
This card sums it up pretty well for me.
What's the worst chapter you've seen
Probably a dude who wanted to make his BA successor chapter master have actual working wings thanks to a suit of power armor made for him by the Eldar.
I saw an IG regiment based on the Rhodesians once
yeah, but that's guard, it's fine to do that
GOD
Its not lmao
references to cringe IRL military groups is always bad
I’m painting my guard in light gray, white, and black. Going for that urban camo look.
yeah but it's guard, you buy a bunch generic army dudes to save money, then you deal with your army getting tabled every game because it's the guard
Guard is really good rn though.
Their Born Soldiers ability is a bit broken.
give it a couple codexs

Short version, Born Soldiers let’s them autowound on hit rolls of 6’s. Doesn’t sound too bad until you realize they can throw tons of dice at you to fish for them.
Like yeah the AP is low but when you get hit with 15 auto wounds you’re bound to fail a few.
Not counting the other damage rolls.
Im pretty sure most peopel would rather not have people fielding racist/offensive armies half the time
that's all the canon armies in 40k
Not really
GW has been very careful with that
Yeah but funny knight guy isn't on the same level as a guard army with SS dress gear and armbands
^
Only if they realize it. For example, if you put the guard painted as the Rhodesians in front of me, I wouldn’t even realize it unless you specifically told me.
And someone almost always does realise it
so it doesnt really make too much of a difference at the end of the day
the historical wargame nerds notice it right off
then they start with the jokes until they repaint those dudes.
Hell my army color scheme probably looks like something and I don’t even know what. >_>
a wheiraboo is no match for historical gaming grognards, those guys have no sense of pity
I just went with an urban camo look, I wasn’t trying for any specific reference. XD
Its pretty easy to avoid it for the most part honestly
it only sticks out like a sore thumb when you are doing shit like SS camos
I mean don't get me wrong, I really like WW2 German camo smock and stuff
But like, cmon
Yeah its a case of people usually wanting to get away from reality and play with dumb plastic guys
so reminders of that sometimes tend to be "Really?"
just watch for obvious dress uniforms, and catchican armies with way too many black dudes
Catachan are probably the hardest to mess up but god knowing 40k fans I have no doubt.
Since they are less Vietnam and more "80's action movie" but still
Krieg are absurdly 50/50
Though most of their fans probably don't know what a model is tbh
krieg are generic WWI dudes, so unless you see something unusual on the tanks i wouldn't stress it.
I almost got the krieg plastic kits but I like the rebooted guard line sculpts way too much.
I think they look great.
Yeah theres a reason they are even MORE "World War 1 guys" than their previous itteration
Everyone in catachan basically just watched the movie Rambo and decided their entire personality is just that
Once I figure out if they even fucking ship to me which is way too hard to look into as it turns out
I'm not even outside of Europe
I cant even order books from Turkey on the GW site
i have to open a VPN for some reason since its "not shipped to your location" even though its a fucking file

Unfortunately the catachans have been forever ruined by one of the more recent novels. Sadge.
It reveals a bit of lore about them that completely destroys any coolness they once had.
ok i have to ask, where the dark eldar dick guns ever real or is it just some meme about oldhammer? and i really hope its the later
true
I tried filling out an order to gauge import costs to Serbia but the "Rest of World" option is bugged and doesn't actually let you place an order or edit your cart
My condolences dude
Also in short
Literally EVERY OTHER weapon in this meme is actually real
just minus the dick-gun like said above
It ships to literally every country bordering us
Found a club that might sell Warhammer stuff but they ignore my emails so lol
still one of the best parts of TTS imo
ngl that does not surprise me at all
yeah
honestly the murderdick is probably in there somewhere in an art piece, it's just not named (yet)
who ever made that did an excellent job with the placement btw
What book was it?
Wait what happened there?
I just ignore the novels
What happened specifically? I always remembered one line about them in armageddon's jungles comparing the patrols hunting for orks as "Akin to paid leave" compared to Catachan's jungles.
I do like the new models, honestly if I was ever gonna make Loyalist guard it'd be Catachans.
Only the jungle fighters have a character that killed a tyranid by crushing the neck with his biceps and I respect them for that
Also only catachan managed to survive alone in the great rift with no supplies against a full-on daemonic invasion before the indomitus crusade arrived
Is it still canon that The reason why catachan is so australian is because of tyranids that got cut off from the hive mind?
Dunno
But considering it's a death world I wouldn't care about the reason, not like it's the only one
It's a place where there's a giant flying thing the size of an ogryn
Reasons don't really matter just survival
(btw no one considers that the sheer fact sly marbo is canon makes human powerscaling in the 40k universe much more fucked up than how it already was)
Trying to powerscale things in 40k can be very very very hard
If Marbo's feat are true, and if Marbo is a normal human, even if Catachan
I mean, the model box come with a lore blurb that lists a lot of stuff
Like:
"on Tarloth he killed a little over three hundred enemy combatants using nothing but a {REDACTED}. Unconventional? Yes. Heretical? Verging upon it."
What is it again, "everything is canon, but not everything is correct" or something of the sort ?
Alpha Legion be like:
That lore bit literally starts with "my lords, this man is a menace" and ends with "Thank the emperor he's on our side"
Yeah but that lore bit is supposed to be a tranmission of someone to a segmentum high command so that marbo may be deployed, and he's always listed as working alone, so that means he's capable of Atleast 50% of what he does imo, and tbf even 10% would still make him the maddest of lads
That's never been canon.
Its just a fan theory people ran with before it got widespread.
Catachan is just deadly for "some reason", we dont really know why
Oh thank God
if you want an actual powerscale then the tabletop has that for you. otherwise in lore it's a lot of rule of cool tbh
I thought they were going to lose the thing that makes the planet nice
If you look at the Catachan Devil page in the 40k lexi it will mention that "it could possible be a rogue tyranid"
and at the end of it, it says:
[citation needed]

you know the situation is bad when a wiki has citation needed
And even then it's just one species in a whole planet that wants you dead
You can pick up a leaf there and turn it into a hand grenade
You can pick up a leaf and the leaf would try to eat you, your family and also your off-world friends*
people focus a lot on catachan even though there's tons of planets in stories that sound even more horrific
I mean it's cool
But like i said you don't have to make a religion for something you love
ever seen a chaos planet described
Tbf, "Death World" is a category for a reason
that just reminds me of the planet nicknamed murder at the start of the horus heresy series
a planet is truly deadly when space marines are having a hard time
That chaos xenos planet from Eisenhorn pissed me off because it gave me a headache thinking about it
@heavy bison @crimson kayak There is a scene in the book where the jungle fighters charge the ork position. The author describes it like a Flying V. Not so bad in of itself! The issue is the way he describes them running.
Yes really.
That is actually how they run.
Once that was added I could never take them seriously again.
I like the fat kid in the back running normally
The point being catachans Naruto run as part of their standard charge.
And I can never get that image out my brain whenever someone mentions them.
it would be pretty terrifying to see rejected 80's action hero movie protagonists running at you that way
Lol on what book was it?
The author probably read they had headbands and assumed they were like Naruto or something stupid
Catachan Devil.
It’s a Catachan vs Orks book.
man I love GW's naming for books
"What should we call a book about Krieg?"
"Uhhh Krieg™️?"
"BRILLIANT"
horus heresy book titles take some liberties
which makes finding their chronological order a lot harder
and a lot are just named by what the main subject is
Surely it can't be that hard
what is?
you'll need to go on the wikipedia article for the book series to find the order
and don't call me shirley
If you want to find the chro ological order of the heresy you need to read the books chapter by god damn chapter
Like
Youll read the firsy few chaoters of the first heretic
Then the first part of know no fear
Then a bit of thousand sons
Etc
There really isnt a chronological reading irder as the first 20 or so books are all about the backhround to the herrsy and then the final acts of betrayal
I didn't actually mean anything with it I just needed an excuse to call him Shirley
Its not until book like 30 that they start to become reasonable
Simple easy to the point
Shooting you in the face?
Correct
now hold still

Literally 1984
Do me Do me
I'll even post dumb stuff
Also
New art just dropped
Finally Primaris veteran rework?
Oh yeah thats neat
considering the big spires i guess that's not a planet
Kek
Guilliman teamed up with Eldrad's dudes
Things are currently quite fucked up so they need as much help as they can get
Plus Eldrad is probably doing his prophecy stuff
Most craftworlds haven't actually done this
Eldrad is an ancient, ancient farseer
So old that he's mostly crystal
He's the main eldar figure basically
As for what kind of prophecy, no clue, but that's his AO
Also new hive fleets
proceeds to get discarded and do nothing after being introduced

Allies of convenience, basically when the option is stick together or the galaxy dies factions tend to group up either on one or the other side
They aren't the worst
There are good factions in 40k?
That's enough for thr Imperium
Oh, then yeah, surely better than being monched up by whatever eldritch calamity is pointing your way
