If you haven't already, but looks like you shaded it with Agrax or Reiksland shade? So use Stormhost silver and gently edge highlight the sharp points on the gold

The metal parts look almost gray(?) so you can get away with a heavy blue-gray layer highlight (eg Dawnstone)then gray-white edge highlight (eg Fenrisian Gray)

You could use regular 1,2 or 3 sized brushes and use the tip and repoint or dry brush method

So i have a question regarding the starter set and the datasheets that came with it. I haven't compared the rest of the Units but the Terminator datasheet is completely different to what i find online. Is it specifically made for the given scenario or was it just not updated correctly? For example the invul save is +5 in the starter set while its at 4+ online. Only the Captain in Terminator armor gets a 4+ save. The powerfist also hits on 4+ instead of 3+ and some other things including their skills are missing or different. Can anyone explain that to me?

Combat patrols will use a different rule set, they are meant to be played against other combat patrols

Dankhold troggboss is really good pretty much regardless of what army you stick him in. Armor saves on 3+ ward saves on 4+, good heroic action, can bring a free spell for giggles too. Just a chad.

They're mostly utility casters. Buffs and debuffs and teleports. They have like one decent AoE and one decent single target nuke and otherwise the casters are useful but they aren't exactly powerhouses

Oh yeah I mean I often throw like... 400-500 points or like just shy of a quarter of my army as spellcasters, you can get up to some stuff. Okay so i'm currently just playing with my friends with the starter pack but i want to slowly add to both of my starter armies. I want to get a Librarian character to add to my Infernus Squad. Would you recommend the Librarian in Terminator armor for sustained hits or rather the primaris librarian that has a feel no pain +4 for more survivability? Also are there any good Tyranids comparable to those 2 so i can evenly grow the armies and not make one completely OP compared to the other one?

Since these were the first models I painted I tried not to do too much. I basically painted Ahrimann blue around the edges and then drybrushed white over it. Dry brushed macragge blue over it again to clean it up and then just applied white to the edges

Most factions now have "bespoke" killteams. Set lists of operatives to use but there's a little wiggleroom in there sometimes

Other factions that don't have a bespoke team yet have..a little mire leeway but with less special rules specifically for them, tyranids for example don't have a killteam yet so you use their Compendium rules which are..eh but they're still pretty fun

If you go to Wahapedia's killteam section, it lists all the teams and all their rules which is nice

Lil tip for finding small things on tje ground. Hold a flashlight wether it be your phone or whatever near the flow and have it shine across it. Small objects will cast long shadows and be easier to find

Yeah I've found with basing it's just a matter of finding something that looks good across your whole army, I feel like the ferns on the Kroxigors is a good motif, it'd give your whole army a vibe like they're hiding in long grass or coming out of a treeline

I haven't really played a proper game of 40k yet and I have a question regarding melee since the starter set isn't really clear on it. So if I charge an enemy unit and am able to kill the enemy models within 1" of my unit and I don't consolidate does the enemy get to pile in for his melee attacks or does more than 1" mean they are not eligible to fight anymore?

If you have any old warhammer boxes you can cut an outline, glue it over and the sprue acts as like a "skeleton" for lightweight homemade terrai, that was you don't have to worry about it creating weird LoS issues

I use PVA for gluing clear plastics, everything else seems to cause frosting, you could try replace the damaged area with clear plastic from a blister pack
