Fair play that would look awesome
I need to practice using green stuff as I want to make ERA bricks for my IW tanks
Hmmm 🤔
What about such things?:
https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/silicone-moulds/647-silicone-molds-bricks.html
I think this could help making ERA parts
Oooh not a bad shout
😎 i'm glad i could show some possible stuff
with that you could make mass production
Absolutely
The only other thing I want to try is rear cage armour
But we’ll worry about that another time
😄
cope bricks
why do you want to make cope bricks?
I think of aesthetics reasons?
I don't know if ERA would be useful against laser, plasma, melta weaponry...
it wouldnt be at all
its explosive reactive armor, it barely works against the weapons they were designed for High Explosive Anti-Tank. Mostly because they do tandem warheads these days
but also because they were always fairly unreliable just like SLAT armor aka cope cages
though cope cages are really stupid and never worked in the first place
🤔 okay but for aesthetics i think it could look cool... i also did some gear additions to my tanks for aesthetics...
Aesthetically pleasing
It fits the iron warrior look quite nicely
I think a predator with ERA on the front and a cage around the back could look really good. Throw in some extra details and it could be a very good looking tank for them
First time I've made a real effort to make an OSL plasma gun. I'm pretty happy with it.
Now just gotta finish the helm and paint a void war base from him.
Very clean
that Tony Starkson?
White undercoat?
No, black undercoat, it's Vallejo dead white with citadel contrast medium, washed onto Baharroth Blue.
Drybrush highlights of Ahriman Blue.
Looks good
mnhm the white is clean 🤤
Blu
Do you mind if I ask how you did the blue glow on the barrel? I’m doing a plasma gun soon and I was thinking about doing something like that
That bone aquila is Uber clean looking. What paints did you use?
For the aquila: reikland fleshshade and serapim sepia (I think that's how you spell it)
Reikland? I would've never guessed! I use ushabti bone and sepia wash for mine. The bone is a layer and it's agony to base with it on black.
If just for the barrels.
Baharroth Blue base in the holes
Vallejo White + Contrast Medium 1:2 into bottom of hole recess.
Baharroth Blue mixed with Ahriman Blue on top of hole recess.
Ahriman Blue around the very edge of the holes (inside).
Stegadon Scale Green on casting around the holes, use like 3-4 very watered down layers.
Stegadon Scale Green + Ahriman Blue 1:1 around the very edge of the holes (outside).
decent print of my coldstar model someone did. even printed the fusion staff
So general idea I’m getting is white at the bottom blue at the top, is that a correct assumption?
Pretty much yeah.
It's called a 'inverted plasma glow'.
I can't wait till I have a space to paint again X_×
Models would be in danger at my current location
Apparently people take their minis on airplanes and paint in their seats, I could never haha
I'd be too scared my paints would be taken
I'd be clutching my case the entire flight
On the warhammer grindset
I'd lose track of time and be caught out with a messy table right as the meals roll by
Assembled my Neroweb System Jammer Pathfinder
The lad with the best gun
AAAAAAA TAU RUN
you mean charge, right?
Charge is just running forwards
When my destroyers comes in maybe. When it’s just my warriors and immortals, hell nah
just get into melee, tau are supposedly useless in melee
My friend plays Necron. One turn he managed to wipe 6 fire warriors with just 3 Warrior models shooting. I was so sad
I wish. For some reason our bayonets don’t have a weapon profile so we just punch with fists
FOR SOME REASON
True story, my Commander was safer in melee with Warrior blob coz their puny fists can't scratch his suit, while he still gets to shoot in melee
It’s so wild. Immortals are supposed to be close in strength with a space marine. So why do my fists do jack shit
Probably because your gauss weapons are so scary
AP -2 on your basic infantry is no joke
To be fair, I'm useless in melee, too. Tau are my spirit animal.
Combine with my will be done and techno ocular targeting. It can melt people
Guys i’m playing my first match next week is this a decent list that won’t get absolutely trashed? We’re playing 1200-1300 points
Have 't worked with it before. FYI maybe it looked brighter because of the lighting.
Being a layer paint, I wouldn't recommend it unless your model is primed white. Shitty painting experience ngl
I stuck my Marines to the Pre heresy scheme of the Dreadwing. So some of them having bone colored limbs really fucks with the black base coat.
Great work for so early in your career
My first
Second model? I don't t believe you. That looks like your 5th squad at minimum.
I just take my time
Too clean and brush control is amazing.
And do my homework
If that's taking your time, then I must be working with Adderall in my system in comparison. You're damn good at your coatings.
I watched A LOT of videos to make sure I made as little mistakes as possible
My green was layered at least 4 times
It's as thrilling as watching grass grow but it gets results
Still no transfers tho
Makes me sad ngl
Results is an understatement for this kind of patience. I'm just really impressed with the smoothness of the colors. With a little highlights and shades, those base coats would be godly.
I agree, I'm just nervous with the highlights. Also I need to invest into more paints. I'm also considering kitbashing a dark angel captain.
But those fucking inceptors are a pain in the ass ngl
I'd recommend kit bashing whatever you can whenever you can. Just don't drain your wallet too much.
As for highlights, with your brush control it should be a breeze, but I understand what you mean.
It can be nerve wracking to ruin a base with a wrong move.
I'm considering dry brushing the highlights. The manual highlight would just take too long and I'm lacking in free time.
If you pick your colors well and stick to the visible areas, I'm sure you could finish a model within one or two sits.
My highlights are just one colors that's two shades brighter than the base and nothing else.
It's how I did this predator
As for shade, I used a contrast paint for the red and used it like nuln oil in the recessed.
I like it. I impressed you managed to write anything readable on that parchment.
Respect
So wait, what chapter did you pick?
Barely. I have heavy hands so I shake when I hold the brush.
My chapter is called the "Umbral Knights". They're DA successors based on the dreadwing. So lots of grav and pre heresy gear. Chapter Master is a Dreadnought I'm currently painting.
A Leviathan named, Enoch.
Cool idea for a CM. Is he a redemptor dreadnaught?
Through sheer willpower inherited from the Lion's Geneseed; he manages to stave off the machine spirit killing him from running the aegis of that machine.
Weapons are sold separately for forge world models
It's like 26 dollars for a single arm
But since they're getting rid of legion specific dreads for the.. lesser looking upgrade plastic kits.. I had to get this guy before they do.
Damn, poor wallet
I need about 4 more paints before I start on him. If he's gonna be my chapter Master, he HAS to look the part.
Since I'm just doing the standard DA chapter, I made it so that they are all 3rd company. Because I was 3rd company when I was in basic.
A question
Ye
I don’t know a whole lot about minis but how much is it just for one mini and the paint?
I'm running on the lore of the six wings of the old legion. (Because let's be honest, dark angels never split their legion to begin with.) So I'm gonna be making some dreadwing specific Termies with Cataphractii.
Usually if a model is sold on its own, it's a hero or leader. They're usually same price as a small squad. So for an example, a squad of 10 tactical Marines (old ones) was about 30 bucks, and citadel paint is 5 bucks per tub.
For ultramarines it would be about 75 dollars for paint and the miniatures.
Though you only need to buy the paint once if you take care of it and store it right.
Thank
Best advice I can give: only buy models you think look cool. It's not fun to paint something you don't like to look at.
Never catch me painting eldar or tau.
3rd company is the mainline infantry, right?
1st company is the Deathwing. 2nd was the.. uh.. damn I forgot.
Also, depending where you are from. You might be able to find stores that sell it for cheaper.@stone lily
^^^ always check hobby stores
People usually sell their old models and half of mine are pre-owned.
All good condition
No fucking clue. I just thought they were regular company markings.
Greenwing then Ravenwing
Yeah that makes sense
Even tho it don't make a damn, 2nd company can be their purple destroyers if you wanted

Though I don't think those are their companies. Just the three core branches of the chapter.
Some of them are derived into companies
But I believe it's the green wing alone that has companies
I'd have to touch up on the lore
Lucky me, didn't break the lore too much
My army breaks the lore in 4 different ways. But I still find ways to justify it. You can too if you wanna do something different.
Are they doing it for the Leviathan too? I thought it was just the Contemptor.
Leviathan is inevitably next. GW don't sleep on plastic crack money
I like sticking to the lore. Makes things easier.
I do too. So now with the lion back I can make their fallen colors justified.

As for my Leviathan Chapter Master.. he deffo should be dead from the machine spirit alone.
Doo doo brain covid
It was fate that made me choose the Dark Angels.
I just thought they looked cool. And then I read the lore afterwards and fell in love.
Keep in mind that I was only looking at the combat patrols
And legit nothing else
It was the Knight aesthetic for me. I'm a medieval meth head, and froth at the mouth for anything knightly.
I even own my own knight helmet
Same here. I didn't even know they were knights either. I just saw the clean, green primaris and chose them.
A proper one or a cheap piece of crap?
Proper 14 gauge bellows sallet
I personally cannot stand the green, and when I saw their pre heresy colors. The steel and black.. god it felt like a crime to turn them green.
Their lore before the lion arrived was dope. Just KGB exterminators.
Honestly the one thing thats held me up painting my phobos marines from Moroch has been deciding on either Ultramarines or Salamanders. Ultramarines would be hella fun to convert, adding things in like pelts and kilts. Parma style shields and generally roman-ing them up.
But Salamanders would be simmilarly dope with hides, tools, hammers and weathering them with ash.
Also, got lots of old 'nids I can cut up for bits for Ultramarines.
I would recommend salamanders solely on the fact not enough people play them. They're VERY unique aesthetic is always eye catching and the magma lights you can do for bases would be glorious.
I too don't get the change since I'm a bigger fan of red on black. But I like this too. And besides, the heresy is history.
That and their conversions are easy to replicate with some home materials. Like making crackled salamander coats out of plastic card.
True, salamanders are underated
Their old dreadnought model was fucking phenomenal. Wish they still sold it.
The FW one?
Yeah
Ironclad boy
But if you wanna do Ultramarines I wouldn't deny it. If you leaned very high into the roman aesthetic and away from the primaris, you could create a marvelous entourage of crested bastions, tempered gladius', and crested Aquilas.
That was kind of the idea, there is a bit of Ultramarines artwork I always loved....
Their heresy era Marines were drowned in the roman aesthetics to the point where they barely looked like Marines. It was gorgeous. Wish GW returned to that look.
That said, Astartes are way down on my list of armies.
I've got Nid kill team, Moebian 6th to make, Collab with the missus for her Heretical Khornate Sororitas order, I want to do a Chaos Hashut themed Votann too and Got Aeldari corsairs killteam still in box and I kind of want to do a tau or kroot inspired kill team with a Ronin/Kurosawa vibe.
My pile of shame grows weekly as shit arrives XD
All I hear is heresy
Whole lot of heresy in this household.
I want to make a feudal world guard regiment to compliment my Dark Angels
Like proxima auxiliary the chapter uses with their Main Astarte force. Just as ultramar has its own roman-themed regiments.
I want to be able to make a diorama or at least get structures that would fit Dark angel temples.
I really enjoy kill team, mostly because games are over fairly quickly.
Cathedral, rocks, and torture devices. All you need for them.
The same artist also drew my pc wallpaper art of a pre heresy dark angel. But I don't know their name unfortunately.
Where could I get these things?
Plenty of websites that sell terrain and objects for these things. I recommend DND models.
You can also just craft your own cathedral out of foam, Warhammer bits, and plastic.
Plenty of tutorials out there
But yeah, when Votann came out I thought they'd look sick basically turned into Duergar from D&D. My thought was their ancestor core has been twisted by chaos and has become Hashut (Chaos Dwarf god from WH Fantasy) and the radiation from their home sector and their diet of farmed fungi and mushrooms has turned their skin dark grey - simmilar to the salamanders. They then strip mine hulks/asteroids/planets without heed for sentient life other than that which can be used for slave labor in their great forges.
There are some good MDF terrain kits, Tabletop Time did a really sick ruined cathedral using them recently.
Salamanders are pitch black. Not grey. They're basically living charcoal.
Yeah, like I said, going for more Duergar/Grey Dwarf vibe
Meant more simmilar to how Nocturne's radiation has shaped the people of Nocturne
The big appeal with starting with Sororitas and Traitor Guard as our two main armies though was mostly because even if we can't chaos-ify them in rules, the loyalist rules will still be valid. Neither of us care to make the games more than LGS legal.
Though I hope renegades and heretics get their own rules with 10th.
Especially with Darktide and the return of the Fallen.
Miniature Scenery are pretty good if you don't mind wooden kits. I splurged and managed to hide this when it arrived from the SO, hopefully I can build it up and give her a custom KT board for her birthday.
Miniature Scenery Forsaken Ruins Set - The complete Forsaken Ruins set. MDF kits supplied un-painted and un-assembled. Instructions can be downloaded from each piece's page as a PDF document. We recommend using PVA glue to assemble the kit. If you would like to have a go at adding your own windows to the Forsaken Ruins
Thx for the link man. Looks interesting
Planning on doing a resin pour over the interior to have blood flowing from the altar then down over the steps of the cathedral. It'll either go really well or ruin it XD
gonna seal the hell out of the wood though, should hold up.
Got my knight done. Wanted to showcase the size difference with my other ynnari units
Shiny
Thanks guys! And yeah, they are very iconic I think
I've considered a few times starting a full wraithhost force
It's apparently not that amazing on tabletop, but they looks so cool I don't care haha
Lighting is not great, but there is my ynnari progress so far. Still need to get the walker done
I'd basically go for all of these as a full army build
With some troops of course
Probably just Guardian Defenders
I gotta stop talking about it though, I already have 2 unpainted armies hahaha
Yeah, I’m trying to go through my pile
Been working on a Moebian 6th inspired traitor guard
This is Ulfyard i dont give a f***son xD🤣
Some lunar auxlia I have been working on
what models are those.
So I’ve been considering what chapter of marines to use and I had an idea. I thought of an idea about an army of AU World Eaters that never became traitors. If I were to do this, which chapter codex should I get to make them as similar to the World Eaters as possible?
that would be custom, so do what ever you want
What ever codex that utilizes nothing more than melee assault and war crimes in the name of the emprah
Could’ve worked if uh
The emperor wasn’t a bitch
And actually saved angron’s revolution
I’m pretty sure somewhere is like a rendition of what if the sides were switched.
Sad that they mostly all died on istvaan
The dornian heresy if memory serves
There's like
The captioned it as lionel
5 crappy alt heresy scenarios
I would say World Eaters still, no?
That's the name I've heard at least, haven't looked into it. c:
Black Templars? Fists?
There's Dornian, Lion, Roboutian, and I think some more
People aren't particularly original
They're at least forced to because copyright most of the time
They're forced to alter things enough to not infringe
It's that one regular human
Zweihanda powa sword
A proper claymore, nice
you son of a bitch he just said what type of sword that is
Does preacher have a power sword aswell that looks like that?
the dark souls fans will have your BLOOD
now he's gonna keep calling it a claymore just to annoy me
i will not stand for this
Not quite it but it does the job
Wishing there was a class rn that is all purity seals
Just like smack everything you see with a never ending purity seal
speaking of which I should print myself a purity seal
Just need to have incense burning as you use it
IT ARRIVED WOOO
Grey resin, red, wash.
or better yet print a stamp and actually make it out of wax
Just make a big wax seal? You could print the inverse in something heat resistant
And no, it's just easier to type claymore than zweihander since my phone doesn't try to correct it away
Everybody gangsta till they start getting letters stamped with the inquisitor logo

Just get that staring at them
Properly washed with a crimson red to emphasis the shape
"oh heck, who do I owe money now"
“Penalty is death and planet wide exterminatus?”
I love this guys lion el heresy stuff
Death guard is best to draw because you can always just replace hands with tentacles
Then only draw that one with variations saying he just likes to switch armor with his fallen brothers
Next thing you know you have to draw him a a tzeench nurgle chaos marine
Then you start drawing him in battle scenarios
Sooner or later he gets the marks of khorne
Then you take him out of those fights and retire him to a chaos ridden world
And he starts a new life
And gets a wife
And then find an eldar
Sacrifice the eldar
Easy slaanesh mark
It’s Lion ’El Johnson
Easy way to start the 14th black crusade
yeah Lion The Johnson
It’s Johnson the Rock
Why go through the trouble if sacrificing an eldar when you could just, uhm, indulge in excess?
Or The Lion
You guys got it all wrong
I’m not putting my plague marine through that hell nah
Fair enough, gotta have some standards
Decency
Plague marine
I'm not sure decency is an option when your innards become outards
Because of Nurgle’s blessing
They’re probably wise
Just like
Spew out the cosmic horrors beyond your comprehension in one go and in simple terms
Cause you to go insane and become a daemonhost and ship you off to some difficulty one starter mission
And have a boy shoot it a few times
And wipe out a squad because you somehow decided sending a squad of bulwarks
Speaking from experience?
I think Angron was doomed to fall to chaos as soon as he was enslaved on the pit fighter world. No amouny of intervention could erase the damage done to him
I think he should do what he always did with the still loyalist ones and hit him
Is angron the name brand bloodthirster?
Angron is primarch of the world eaters
And also the worst primarch and a huge jobber
Meaning he loses almost every fight hes a part of
Yeah, but his model looks kinda like the bloodthirster, right?
Yeah he got turned into a daemon prince during the horus heresy and now lives in the warp
Big red dude with wings a sword and an axe
Aight, cool, then I know which one it is
Didn’t he just like get out of it now
He’s just a big red lizard now
Hes been brought in and out of the warp a few times
Most recently in the lion book which im still reading
T-Rex in power armor when?
Angron and a lot of green stuff
Dinosaur daemons when
When gw needs to print money
Stegosaurus siege weapon
GW knowing there are full groups of people who won’t print there own and buy from them
Titan herding dinosaur
Guilty as charged (mostly because resin printer in a one bedroom apartment sounds like a terrible idea)
I don’t know how loud they can get
Probably just shove it in a secluded room or something
It's not the noise, it's the toxicity + fumes
I have more money than common sense so I have bought more than I should have from GW
But i also may or may not know a Chinese store that sells quality resin recasts for dirt cheap
And use those for casual games
I wish GW could just provide quality minis at affordable prices
The minis are quite quality. The price is dumb tho
"Haha assemble and paint your own dudes that'll be 70 bucks a box"

Their plastic is 10/10 tho for fit and finish
Ive got so many grey world eaters to paint still
8 bound arent even assembled yet
Kharns done tho
Cant show his backside because discord thinks its a LEWD IMAGE
What
Anytime I try and post the back of kharn discord gives me a pop up that says "do not post lewd images"
His dump truck is 2 thick
Joegryn
Too thicc
They are lunar auxlia designed by the evil one you can buy the files to print them
Some 28mm scale titanicus hosted by my local heresy group I took a gore crows warhound and a group of malinax knights
Bigtanicus
Is that Blood for the Blood God?
that is an expensive picture
It is that. unfortunately not everyone made it so its only a portion of our groups titans
Yes but I mix it with mephiston red
I mean thematically, Fists, Minotaurs and Ultrasmurfs all have that roman vibe. But Blood Angles have the best setup as Loyalist melee focused.
Aren't the black templars also melee focused?
Ah, true.
I always forget about them.
Could probably reskin the whole crusader squad as a ludus thing.
I lost an arm for one of my lych guard so i put the gun arm of a praetorian on him. Can i still use him in the tabletop and just not using it as a weapon?
could always use a few spare bits to make the gun look less like a gun.
Even carve some bits of sprue into claws.
But I don't think a LGS game would care.
alright thanks
only a huge douchbag would complain about that as long as you are clear about the weapon not being on the character's statline.
Anyone know any good helmets/masks that would fit on my deamon prince model?
I’m trying to go for a fully armored style for my army and want a helmet to cover the deamon princes face but not sure what would work?
could green stuff it,
Archaon helmet?
A late reply. He is being assembled soonish. This month has left me with very little time to make minis.
Yay looking forward to it
Assembled them all in one day, now i have one week to paint it all for a match i’m gonna play
This is pretty dope, is it from a Fantasy/AoS model?
Sword hand is from bayard's revenge. Sword is from the new chosen from aos, the other hand is from artel w's definetly not night lords model line
Looks sweet.
imperial knight face plate
My piss poor excuse WIP Black Templar. Still figuring put plasma and whites correctly but in due time.
Also excuse the rudimentary backdrop it's just an old cardboard box I had lying around for rn
I believe in doing whites in like 4 ultra thin layers
Just Mega thin
It takes an age
But the effect is smooth enough to get a decal without the need for microset
Which noone in my erae sells
Also hand shaking my paint for an hour
Some wip and completed as of late
Chapter Master slowly coming along.
Guys are necrons a good matchup against death guard?
immovable object vs immovable object
Warhammer the tower defence game
Tell me more
Is that The Rock?
How did you paint the plasma? Pure tesseract glow?
Based with corax white then layered tesseract about 3 times
I didnt just bucket it on it was layered once it dried
How long do you let each coat dry?
You just made me revise my entire 9 model old painting technique... which honestly needed to happen
aw what was your method? Does my plasma really look that good?
It shines. As for technique I used fewer coats and should have let it dry for longer
Oh does yours look more matte or dimmer in comparison?
This is how my plasma looks like
Thats still good looking. Perhaps edge highlight with white along the top of the coils to give it a glow effect?
Yeah that might work. Means I need to buy white
Vallejo do a nice white although any white will do tbh
Like i used corax white as its the only white i own rn
For reference this is the final touches I did on the plasma. Its by no means perfect but also running some very thinned white at the bottom of the coils helps it give a more glowing affect
The power vents were just pure tesseract tho as I cba to fill them white and then do them lol
I'll try it with my next plasma gunner
Check out my new 40k army
He's a golden boy
Finished building the chosen
Is he a custom character or?
Oh yeah, he's my chapter master
Proxy for Helbrecht rules wise. Since I use BT rules.
But Mexica based chapter.
He's mexican?
In the photo doesn't appear, but i painted while mounting him
"By holy Sigmar, look! A vermintide 2!"
New to the discord but have been painting and playing the table top game for a while
Pain. Guess I cant link pictures.
okay, worked the second time
I rate this paintwork 5/5
6/5 if the snow looks less creamy and more white irl
Yeah, I am just a bad photographer lol
na colour correction is just automatic function, happens to the best
also discord desaturates shit all the time
ye that's pretty damn epic bro
I like the little guys that have mixed shiny and matte objects
Thanks homie. I have been so focused on army painting that getting to do a character was a great break.
I split an ironcrawler door at the centre so i can turn it into a troop transport
Bonus cat pic
Marnael Calgras (👀) of the First
Is that a kit bash?
Finished building the ogroids
just an old school metal capt
You cannot suppress the power of Bosnia
Srebrenica
Taste the rainbow HERETIC!!!!
Without a doubt, I think I know what models he used.
GREG THE GAY KNIGHT!!
I wanna know, it looks super dope
Deathwing terminator for spear, DA veteran squad for helmet (I think), That also looks to be gravis armor it could be a primaris captain. The jetpack idk.
That is all I could tell from that angle.
Boo.
Making a Dark Angels army after settling for them. Here’s the Sergeant.
I am aware he looks like shit. I’m trying my best
What paints are you using? Looks like it could be Testors or something.
Your coats don't look exceptionally thick or anything, maybe your tools are part of the problem
He looks a helluvalot better than my first goons
Not the stuff GW used
That’s for sure
Got this shit at Mikes
This stuff
looks like a fine basecoat, on the armor at least. try doing some washing or panel lining
then some drybrushing to add some wear or dirt
Working on a Fallen army currently, here's two of my wayward sons. Someone's gotta stand up to this Lion fellow, eh?(Hoods sculpted in milliput)
pretty neat hoods
What we’re those words and what do they mean?
Chimera (Wip)
It's citadel's terms for certain stages of painting (panel lining is a separate term though)
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/06/28/citadel-colour-just-what-is-battle-ready/
panel lining: https://www.gunpla101.com/panel-lining-for-gunpla-101/
Maybe you’ve noticed that your first Gunpla doesn’t look as good as the photo on the box. One of the easiest ways to make your Gunpla look nicer—with relatively little effort—is panel lining. Panel lining is the process of drawing fine lines around the detailing of model parts. It is one of the simplest things...
Behold the fabulous sister
That thing makes me MutaHard.
I'm practising my brush control as I don't really do the "eavy metal" style of edge highlighting or black armour at all. So far I'm happy with it so far as there's always room for improvement
Green plasma kinda hit different, in a good way
The base isn't of my own creation it's from the Blood Angels hero range I've just painted him to be a BT
Inquisitor (left) and Rogue Trader (right) power couple conversion complete!
Now to just wait for 10th 😅
There isn't a kill team ruleset for an inquisition warband, is there?
Besides taking one of the guard ones and saying "counts as"?
Sorry for the bad angle. Tiktok limitations. An army I am rebuilding for the 3rd time and trying to get done before 10th is released and probably wont get done in time like usual. https://www.tiktok.com/@virtuallyidiotic/video/7222480866377846059?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7147519486719215146

Sadly the case
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/02/13/imperial-agents-datasheet-inquisitors-and-assassins-join-the-battle-against-the-arks-of-omen/
Not the exact thing but this is the closest for now
Maybe they'll get expanded to kill team, eventualyl
You also have their boarding patrol
Inquisition has been neglected for a while now. Ever since SoB and GK got their own codex, Inquisition just been sort of sidelined as supplementary items. Not something you can build an army around and even what is in the game 40k right now, they are not really worth taking outside of fluff. It is disappointing not seeing a Killteam of an Inquisitorial retinue yet either. It is something you would think would fit well into the whole killteam theme. Hopefully that will change. I really do miss the Inquisition and do think they need some better loving.
Does anyone know what they plan to reveal on the 1st of May for Killteam?
Not a clue
It might actually be an Agents kill team
Since they've gotten a boarding patrol along with some free rules for TTop
Have some raptor bois. Need some highlights and touch ups.
I was just thinking that considering darktide is a thing, an inquisition kill team would be perfect to make. Would pair nicely with the chaos guard one.
hell yeah
First steps on my leagues of rage aka angry votann....
I'm glad I'm not the only one who paints the head and limbs separately
I'll never understand how people who glue it all together before painting get to the areas behind the arms or the guns without mucking it up
you paint those bits first.
Well that was painful
surprisingly good results for such a small piece
Update on my Militarum Auxilla army.
I should post my whole "Mad Mork" crew at some point
Cool! What chapter is that? Doesn’t look like Ultramarines.
Hard to tell in the picture, but he's crimsion fist
The best advice any of us can give you is to go do your homework.
Do research, choose paints wisely, observe painting techniques, and watch a shit ton of youtube videos of people painting their models. There are a good amount of dark angel tutorials to follow. So do that before you mess up any of your models.
Best of luck to you man. I hope to see you improve!
Love that grimdark!
Wow! I did none of that
Seeing how I barely had any idea what I was doing I’m surprised they didn’t come out worse
Good on me
How old are you? Just curious.
Current WIP \o/
DE-SPAAAAAAAIR
This of course happens in an alternate universe where Angron is a Disney princess and snow is sugar, giving diabeetus to everyone.
Question: since I’m working with Dark Angels, if I get Termies, do I have to use the Deathwing models or can I use any I just gotta paint them up like Deathwing
Yes.
It means you can do both
there's nothing on the deathwing models you need to represent on the tabletop you won't find on the average termie.
Thinking about how this knight would rip a chaos knight apart then just go over the intercom “yasss queen, slay!” Has me cackling
What’d you do to kitbash that orgryn holding the las cannon, I really like that
I got my novitiate killteam ready
I Present: The lord of Baal himself, Sanguinius, Sire of the blood angels.
This has been a long project, and I've learned a lot, still not quite finished yet, But until I get his scenic base there's not much I want to touch.
In the meantime enjoy my new favorite model, and a black rock that took an amount of time I don't wish to share.
I can make a video trying to explain it if you want too hard to explain through words.
Or: I basically just chopped off the main body of the ripper gun and then filed down the laz cannon until it fit. Then I use green stuff for the body so I can position the arms in a way I want.
Very nice. Doesn’t seem too complex honestly I should be able to replicate it. Thanks
Oh yeah not hard at all I'm just too dumb to explain it properly lmao

Kitbashed some recon marines because I didn't want more forge world resin in my life
Nurgle needs some warcrys ong i cant just ring bells every time i go to spread his gifts
"accept nurgles blessing"
"Embrace the grandfather"
"For Grandaddy Nurgle"
“For peepum!”
Oh ok thanks
I know this is going back a few days but I'd avoid doing this if at all possible - because the metal plating is what's holding the actual magnet together so you really want it to be as intact as possible. Like the inside of a neodymium magnet is basically compressed and heated powder, they can shatter quite easily.
Use a little dab of super glue, or contact adhesive works really well because there's some flex to it
Green stuff will hold a magnet in place nicely too, make sure it's all pressed up right against the magnet and the suction will hold it in and it's got some flex to it as well
Oh also the magnet will rust if you sand off the coating, also not good
Idk if I wanna work on my next LRBT, my RGBT, my commissar, or finish my Cadia stands box by working on the two FOBs
Work on all of it!
Inevitably yes, but what first…
Fair enough. Never done it myself, just seen people recommend it. Haven't found it necessary myself but I drill a size smaller than the magnet and slowly twist it up to size for a really snug fit
Whats the oldest thing?
The FOBs
Slowly getting through my Pathfinder unit assembly. This is the communications specialist.

is it time to try this?
Here it is, my first completed Black Templar. I could go further with more highlights and touch-up but im satisfied with this finished result. I hope to paint more in the future along with many more projects in mind
I will at some point apply transfers for him when I get them hence the lack of markings
I need to stop being lazy and cut the rest of my unused bits off the sprues, bag them, label them, and go from there
I must say, for certain parts I regret cutting them off the sprue. At least on the sprue you can see what part number they are, and look up which part they're supposed to connect to.
Time to be sneaky again
I was thinking just assembling them all into bits
My little McFarlane collection 🙂
I love the Tyranid Flime
I must ask, would anyone here be interested in the Warmaster Titan I am building? Or heck any other 3D printed miniature or titan?
Mainly the Warmaster since i am moving to a smaller apartment and it doesn't have space for it
DM me if interested, international shipping can really gut you
And so the great work begins
Shiny

Did you just prime it?
So I attempted to magnetize the Leman Russ turret for the executioner plasma, the demolisher cannon, and the rotary cannon. All magnets are flush with the plastic.
However, I get three different results despite this. I’m trying to figure out what I did wrong and if there’s any chance to fix it
So any idea where I went wrong? I think the Gatling cannon is good but the other two are off
Whats the issue?
If the magnets are flush, thats all you can do
GW kits were not built for magnetization, so “Good enough” will often have to do
Might it be a manufacturing fault? I doubt it but all possibilities and what not
Maybe I can green stuff the other two turrets idk
that or milliput
Milliput?
Its like a putty. An alternative to greensstuff
I gotcha. Alright good to know
Here's a chart comparing greenstuff to other putties, milliput being one of them. They have different physical properties before and after curing
Thanks for the extensive list
It's straight from greenstuffworld, they sell some pretty neat stuff
That’s good to know. I’m just glad that I at least have the basic magnetizing down and it’s not something fundamental
Any superglue you’d suggest for the magnet? The stuff I have is more liquid than gel
Super fun to paint.
Milliput is much finer than GS, so is good for fine detail and its easier to sand back later if need be.
I mostly use GS if I need something to deform less easily as I put it in place. Great for stuff like chainmail, tubes etc.
doesnt list any of the primary non hobby brands such as apoxie sculpt which are the same thing but way cheaper.... wow
GJ GSW
Really good about making a good list there
It lists greenstuff, which is a common point of reference, milliput, which is the point of discussion, and some other products that GSW sells, so it serves well enough for the purposes of clarifying what milliput is to someone unfamiliar with it, and is certainly more than what I've seen on other hobby websites. It's not a comprehensive breakdown of the market of 2 part epoxies, and it doesn't need to be.
Yeah but there are so many more wonderful epoxies that just wreck greenstuff and miliput as a whole
Whats a good paint stripper for my minis? I wanna redo some of my earlier models
Some people swear by simple green, or dettol products. Would not recommend isopropyl alcohol, since although it strips the paint, it also ruins the plastic underneath, so that it falls apart after X amount of years (not personal experience, deferring to @plush swift on this one).
Also depends on where you are, certain brand names people use are harder to come by in certain countries
LA's totally awesome
Don't suppose they sell that at Tesco's huh
35 quid for a bottle?
I can buy new models for that much
Nvm found cheaper, is this a soak or a scrubbing kinda stripper?
And any alternatives for UK cuz Google ain't showing no local stores that sell them
Adeptus Arbites Killteam
Damn i want that box so bad but its not available anywhere
And im still waiting that votann beastmen box
There is this https://fuze-products.co.uk/guide/stripping-paint-off-miniatures-with-biostrip-20/
Don't know how it affects the long term health of the model. Price for 1L seems alright.
Nice work man
Did you get the arms yet?
Nah, they're still out of my price range
Biostrip 20 for plastic minis, apparently Wilco paint stripper is the same stuff https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-all-purpose-paint-varnish-stripper-500ml/p/0299049
Shop for Wilko All Purpose Paint and Varnish Stripper 500ml at wilko - where we offer a range of home and leisure goods at great prices.
It's really good, just leave it in for 20 mins then scrub with a toothbrush
would make the hood grey or something bone colored, would be a cool contrast to the armor
Assembled this Blooded Pathfinder. She's really cool, I love the scarring on right side of her face and the bionic right arm
Trying out oil washes for the first time. Think it came out p well!
Looks good. How did you apply it? Did you varnish the mini before applying oils?
Looking great
I did not varnish first in fact! This was a wash I just applied all over the model after the acrylic paint had had a day to dry. Decided to try it out after watching Cult of Paint's video on painting Possessed on youtube. I did some varnish afterwards to bring down the glossiness a bit tho
And I applied it with a brush, I don't have an airbrush
What arms do you plan on getting?
for UK, biostrip is the one you want
its not, its vastly worse and can melt plastic
it feels worse because I paid $80 for one of those bottles to import it because we needed them for testing... it preformed about the same as IPA, so basically not well
Hot tip: don't waste money on an air compressor. Learn to play the bagpipes and hook your airbrush up to them. Sick tunes while you paint
@plush swift how does that LA’s super awesome all purpose cleaner stuff work? like how do you use it?
leave it in there for an hour?
dont give me video ideas
true and real
that's what I do
overnight generally. I also highly recommend it as an all purpose cleaning, I have a friend who cleans crime scenes and another who is the head of housekeeping at a major hotel chain that all swear by it
(I also turned them on to it)
woah
shit is actual god tier
not in my experience
awesome
First try on a Votann energy axe... still not sure if this looks ok
Looks pretty ok for a first try
Never did those effects like this before...
Not bad at all. You'll get better with practice like everyone else.
a little part done for upcoming assembling xD
Have a healthy dose of raptors.
The grav cannon demolisher arm and the melee claw arm. They'd look best on this guy.
Sorry for late response, I passed out
Carapace progress
NP, been working on another inceptor
I swear I fucking hate this model
Drying the stand like a caveman
Yeah I have the same model
Unfortunately my fugly plastic stands broke so I had to improvise with my guya
I got these fellas in the know no fear box, and I can tell after seeing your models. Guns looks so much better on yours.
To make the stumps I literally just used an oversized bush trimmer to hack up a sturdy stick
Then peeled back the top to give the impression they're blasting it apart with the jets
Deamon prince Iron Warrior of Tzeentch
do you have a magnifying glass with LED lights for your table? It's why I'm able to get the details. I can't imagine working without it.
It's a cheap one too
I work on a newspaper at the end of a dining table
I use the sun as a light
When it's gone I just improvise

There are always smaller magnifying glasses with holder clips
Like this: https://www.muco.nl/de-werkplek-hulpmiddelen/145685-derde-hand-met-vergrootglas-410329203160.html
you have to invest, or Enoch will not look as good as he should
Mine cost around 30 euros or something
It's a must, believe me
wouldn't recommend that one, it's too small and it's used mostly for welding
Get something that can be adjusted more
Most likely. But I still have to invest in his arms first. Otherwise he won't be completed.
If you still have good eyesight you're probably fine with a good light source. A cheap armature and a cold lamp (~6k Kelvin if memory serves, good cri) will serve you just fine. Two if you're fancy and want to eliminate shadows.
The sun is an excellent, albeit time gated source of light as well.
True, though I sadly know just how bad mine are due to checkups for glasses.
Im painting on black primer in deep detailed areas
I only get about 5 hours of good sun before I have to stop painting
for better or for worse, I have astigmatism
take that as you will
@queen monolith how long does 1 model take you?
roughly ofc
I usually batch paint my models, but for my normal dreadnought it took me about 9 hours in a single day
This is a black reach dread tho so its lower quality to the levi of course
I wouldn't batch paint my models. I always give them individual attention
Yeah I should, but with my adhd I have issues with having enough motivation to just sit and paint for a long time.
So the few days I can pull myself together for it, I like to go all out
so far, they've turned out not so bad.
Ofc it could be better, but Ill improve with practice
All the progress I've made so far
I've been painting since 2019, but due to financial stuff, I only get a new model like twice a year.
So more like 8 months of actual painting
Thats why Enoch remains a cripple

Is that a microtitan?
Yes it is
looks like the warhound?
they loyalist or traitor?
Heretic
What's the name of that one traitor Imperator
War Chihuahua
The big khornate one

I played a game vs friends the other day and my warlord quite literally curbed stomped a knight
Interesting portrayal of the destruction of Cadia
The only one I know of is the Dies Irae
Oh that one
WIP
Eos update
I looked into it and I found something more decent for around 40 euro, a lamp with magnifying glass is cheaper than I expected.
wip dante
Where's all the blood from his recent encounter with Angron?
Cadian heavy lascannon (WIP)
Looking good so far
Thank yoy
Don't think anyone appreciates that lascannons are just really big lasguns
Like imagine if someone made an AK-47 the size of a tank
Also post those dark angels again mothefucker I was getting to you
Another one done...
Thank you brother
thoughts on the purity seals?
I learn it by leaning my hand/ finger on anything i find comfortable to get steady hand. Usually painting with finger
The trick is cheating and using a micron pen
That's how I do names and labels lmao
Just finished assembling my whole Pathfinder unit from the Kill Team box. They look awesome together!
Won't that scrape off the paint?
Not unless you go at it like a barbarian
Otherwise it's a felt tip pen and works a treat
Im gonna get one of those. Do you recommend any particular brand?
Do you Edge highlight your whole model or only certain parts?
i would say all
I haven't tried highlighting yet. I'll do it for my captain using the dry brush method.
dry brush is definitely faster but less precise and controllable
works really well with edges but i cant do that on flat surfaces
but then i dont think you have to edge highlight everything
GW highlights everything only because it makes them readable from every angle. Since it's their job to sell it.
My intention isn't to go crazy. But to make precise dry brush strokes over specific raised areas.
The results are good. What model is that anyway?
Amd what happened to the boots? Are they scraped on purpose.
oh yeah I scraped them by accident, still nice natural effects though
infiltrators from combat patrol box
I really like those models. Shame they don't fit my army.
I noticed some detail difference* from the official figure compared to the retail ones
once i looked closer i realized GW figures has slightly better details maybe im nitpicky haha
Not to be pedantic, but do you mean the model's left knee? In which case I say the tape masking worked well.
Which details specifically. I noticed some things too but I can't put my finger on what exactly?
Retail variant is flat, make it so much harder for me to "edge highlight" on the right knee.
I know the guy in the pic is a medic variant, the sprue in the box have the same flat knee, im just showing two photos because im too lazy to take everything out
💰
I guess because its mass production, but still i feel decieved 🥲
Because you were deceived
is the one you have the old infiltrator kit that came with the start collecting set or the newer multi part kit
Shoot them an email and ask, best case it's just an issue with some casts and they'll sort you out.
prob not old, the combat patrol is the same picture they show on my box
yeah that's the old kit, but have you checked the legs on the other dudes
Warhammer 40k featuring Dante from Devil May Cry
looks like the box art
Thanks! I tried to stay close to the box art as best I can aside from silver wings instead of white bc I cant be bothered
you could write the entire epitaph instead of just squiggles. its 100% easy and you can do it without an electron microscope
I tried with a very small brush. Made a mess instead.
have to buy an even smaller brush for that
@plush swift I it was any smaller it wouldn't exist
I actually have one that is so small you cant see the tip easily
cant find it on google, is this the size?
rent an electron microscope and do it, I believe in you
Oh I was making a joke both times
I'll have to think about it
I have one next to my left handed smoke shifter
ah really thought its a thing
Technically it can be a thing because brush sizes are not universal so a company could make that and it would just be a normal brush
This is one of the smallest brushes I own
Not the smallest, but damn close
my local store dont have alot of those pin point brushes. Even if they do, its too long for me. I prefer shorter ones.
its not long actually, and no these are artist brushes not hobby ones
superior quality, half the price
that brush is slightly longer than average but its because its designed like a vintage brush
oh nah im not talking about your brush, just me trying to get these kinds in general
i needed a brush like that
by long do you mean the handle or the bristles?
the bristle yeah
off the top of my head windsor and newton miniature are shorter, though you don't want a brush that's too small, the paint will dry before you reach the model
look for one with a really good tip on it instead, somewhere in the size 00-2 for very fine detail
(obv other brands exist as well, I just haven't done a lot of research on short bristle brushes)
if there's an art supply store near you they should be able to help, you're looking for a watercolour or acrylic brush for fine details, preferably with short bristles
and if they can't there's always the internet
or discord*
brushes aren't usually sold over discord afaik
Okay, so I'm trying to make a Lego Astra Militarium army. I'm using some knockoffs of unofficial minifig designs by Koruit as the troops, but the part that's tripping me up is how to create the war machines and such, at a size that is fieldable, but not to mention being able to be used as a toy when off the battlefield.
Any suggestions on how to perform that?
I would highly recommend never using those brushes with acrylic paint. And I mean the company goes out of their way to say do not use these brushes with acrylic paint as the acrylic paint will literally kill them incredibly quickly.
They actually post warning signs about using them with acrylic paint, a lot of this comes from hobbyist like you where they don't understand the logistics of making those brushes and the companies want them to last over a decade because they cannot be easily replaced, If the brush dies within 2 years it is not a good thing to do.
You can find synthetics that are exactly the same thing as well on that size, that work just as well as sables as well
They are called spotter brushes
Look for spotter brushes
Wip - Crimson Fist Tactical Squad (w/ few Meltas)
Spend sum time last night hanging with online friends as I'm working on these bad boys. Grabbing a few layer paints to do sum touch ups on the others later.
I have yet to find a synthetic that performs as well as the sable brushes, mine have also lasted quite a few years since I care for them. But yeah, I'm aware they're not intended for acrylics.
(Also the S7 has dipped quite a bit in quality the last decade or so, to the point where I'm actively picking up different brushes just to try and find something else that works sufficiently well.)
I have a lot, you just pay a lot for them. The cheapest ones I have are robert simmons
can't say I've seen that brand (in the EU if that matters)
It does actually. Have you tried escoda or isabey synths?
escoda, they were absolutely terrible
weird, they have been some of the best I've ever used
I even contacted support and got a replacement, that they checked specifically, and I wasn't happy with it (though it was better than the first)
when did you buy it?
Ahh, yeah that would say a lot
as of like the last 5 years they've become one of the best makers
oh really?
I need to get some for my home studio later on for testing though
I think I have a store locally that stocks them, any particular line of brushes you'd recommend?
please do, like I said, I'd love better brushes
I'd also check jackson's for simply simmons or robert simmons
especially if they're not as expensive as pure kolinsky
well I mean... the good ones tend to be very close
jacksons is uk I think, ordering from there is pain due to taxes + tariffs
Jacksons is UK
I already pay the price for kolinsky, if there's something equal/better then I definitely wanna know about it
I only check there because it means they might be in the EU
why dont people use synthetics?
they are unfortunately not, and I hate to say that
mostly it's about brush feel, but for most painting it doesn't matter
I use a 1/4" no-name flat synthetic for almost all my basecoating
because they arent as accurate as sables
im too new to actually notice a difference between the 2 i guess
but mini painters even the good ones, can do the same thing with good synths because they dont need that insane level is accuracy someone like me does on a restoration
though it definitely helps
It can, but its really not required
some blending is also weird with synthetics, since they behave differently, but that's also not an impossibility, just different
whats a restoration exactly
plus keep in mind, mini painters also swear by S7 brushes which are bad and then they swear by some hobby company that gets their brushes from RM&Co
I do art conservation for a living
so I conserve 300yo+ art pieces
S7 are bad now, sadly, though I still haven't found something that behaves as well as my old S7
and it's not even about being able to or not, it just feels comfier, y'know
yeah, I got mine just before they started going bad I think
also found some old ones by chance (still new) five or so years ago, which was lovely
thats a rarity
I cant find them at all here
But im in the US where sables are illegal
yeah, shelf that had been restocked and never completely cleaned out, hella lucky
I wish I could find that
I wouldn't be surprised if that was my one in a million
yeah probably
I found my old escoda synthetic, it's called "versatil"
im gonna ask a goofy ahh question bc you 2 were talking about acrylic paints but are the citadel paints acrylic 🗿
so what are the best brushes for acrylic paint then?
whatever gets your paint on the model in a way you enjoy
if you're new, then what ever that isnt expensive because you'll kill the brush most likely
then im glad i picked up the 7 dollar hobby lobby brush set lmaooo
the regular hobby brand brushes aren't awful, just pricey for what they are (at least GW brushes over here)
gw brushes are so over priced
but they work and they're available
but thats kinda their thing i guess is marking up stuff
and yeah, they are
well, they do charge quite a bit for their products
oh, and I hope I didn't upset you earlier @plush swift , if so I apologise
Naw. I'm only partially paying attention since I'm dealing with some dumbass in YTer discord I mod for
all good then, just wanted to make sure. Hobbies are supposed to be fun after all
plus its hard to upset me
Yes they are, I go from painting for a living to painting to relax after all
My first Warhammer mini i finished, how did i do?
Hell yeah man, just thin your coats and practice applying coats and it will look even cleaner. Also what brushes you using, I can see a lot of brush strokes.
I want to get a spray gun eventually so i can apply thinner coats, but i basically did this with some of my diarama stuff and the basic painting kit from Citadel
how long have you been painting
I used to collect flames of war back in 2014 and then i kinda stopped until last week when i finally decided to splurge and get the admech codex and combat patrol
I hope you know that you don't need a spray gun or airbrush to do that. Army painter brushes do just fine
Oh yeah i know, im going to be collecting alot of admech so i want it for like the vehicles. Might get a warhound titan to help
