You earn from play missions, but also earn ingame currency and material scavenger scatter around map in mission alternative to buy and upgrade (also can upgrade from rewarded mission gear)

You can either get gear from random Emperor's Gift drops, Melk's repositorium buys with the Melk coins from completely weekly objectives, or just buy weapons with dockets from Brunt's shop. You can buy curios from Melk's with the mystery chance but it's very RNG and unlikely to give you a maxed stat. You can also find curios from Brunt's but they're also rarely ever anything good. Emperor's Gift curios can be good but they're also rare. Tbh the curios are a side thing and don't worry about min maxing them too hard because some players with thousands of hours don't have perfect curios for all stats on all classes either

there are very few weapons that deviate from the 80/80/80/80/60 pattern but like off the top of my head Plasma wants 71% charge rate (lower delay between shots when hip firing) and 69% thermal resist (exact number needed for the maximum 8 shots before overheart when firing from 0% heat) and then 80% in all other stats

that one is a rough weapon to gamble for LOL

for most people because I got it on my third roll

Marksman's Focus got buffed a while ago and that with the new Exe Stance means Helbore is the strongest ranged weapon on Vet now for a dedicated ranged build

It does crazy damage

It also is a specific build that relies a lot on having the space to shoot

So you need a team that can give you breathing room to fire

But if you don't have a team that can give you breathing room it becomes an exercise in how well you understand movement, positioning and awareness

and I really love that exercise
