alright so basically forever ago there was these guys called the necrontyr and their planet was a radioactive shithole and their lifespan was horribly short and they had like mega cancer so they called up these guys called the old ones who are like gods of the physical realm and asked them to fix their shitty lives, and they said "fuck off" so they teamed up with these other gods called the c'tan who gave them what they wanted so they could wage war on the old ones but also basically enslaved the necrontyr and turned them into the necrons, and then that's how the war in heaven started. so during that the aeldari and the krorks get created too in the war (krorks become orks), all the gods basically just kill eachother & then the king of the necrons (szarekh the silent king) betrayed the c'tan and then exiled himself for selling out his people to them & the necrons go into stasis sleep after spreading across the galaxy. so then a really long time later the aeldari basically "colonize" earth and our technology gets super cool & we do space travel until the aeldari have a faction split & also accidentally create slaanesh (a new chaos god) and shit goes down the drain for literally everyone in the galaxy cuz of warp storms (dont worry about it). so THEN some time later the emperor of mankind unveils himself and basically re-conquers earth, makes some dudes called the thunder warriors, kills a bunch of people and unites humanity under his banner, then he kills the thunder warriors all off & makes space marines instead, and then the horus heresy happens somewhere around the year 30000 and the emperor gets stuck in the golden throne to power the astronomicon (which lets us do warp travel so we're kind of boned if he ever dies) and humanity stagnates for like 10000 years and becomes a fascist hyper religious regime worshipping the god emperor of mankind and that's kind of it tbh
