Double barrel requires specific builds but with those builds it becomes one of the best weapons in the entire game

Weapon specialist gives 33% crit chance per stack of melee kill and always prepared always loads 1 shell as long as you have a stack cuz it rounds up
Since you can force crits with weapon specialist, manstopper now gives you infinite cleave so everything in your crosshair gets hit, and fletchette adds 6 stacks of bleed to add more total damage to the hit

The double barrel and shovel is what I bring into havoc 40, its extremely ammo efficient, super safe, and outputs so much damage you can easily pull ahead of purgatus psykers even when garden is a modifier
