The act of moving had become reflexive, a quiet choreography of obligation and efficiency. Even their stillness carried motion: phones lifted, thumbs tracing loops over screens, faces illuminated by the glow of LED displays, yet dim all the same.

My movement didn’t fit in. Each step had a slight imbalance, like momentum and hesitation couldn’t agree on pace.
