Stratetgy is training them backwards (retreading where you have cleared). Slide crouching along with charging a blast. You also mix in one or two stabs with dueling sword to whittle them down as well.

Your first mistake is using the special attack on deimos to begin with, as it sucks. (you can kill things faster just hitting them normally)
Your second mistake is not understanding that greatswords have some obscene damage for their single target attacks. (uncanny is not necessary)

Deimos wants uncanny and either riposte or precog. Unstable power is also a choice if you find yourself edging peril as much as humanly possible.

Personally, I run unstable power for my staff builds, but that's only because I quell only as much as I need to to pull off another rmb attack, so my peril is quite high.

FGS (force great sword) is great. The movement curve takes some getting used to. Both the 6 and the 8 are pretty comparable. Pick the move set that you like the most.

FGS 8 is a little faster in getting its attacks out; well the lights are little faster. Heavy big upper thrust is after the PA (push attack).

FGS 6 has the heavy upper trust as the H2 and after the special. It can be more mechanically interesting with combos if you want, but is unga bunga friendly too.

Those are the stand outs for me.

If you don't mind combos, Obscurus has both horde and single target profiles. Caxe has better horde clear than illisi. Demois could even work since most of EK's horde clear in a meta build is shriek. LMB spam into horde is decent to thin numbers and build peril. Lacerate kinfe has faster horde clear iirc.

voidstrike ballspam is my favourite because it's super satisfying, ek needs a bit of finesse targeting specials and elites to let sb do the work, voidblast is just good allround and the most reliable

yeah voidstrike dome shield is my current go to, but also premade group of players with all time coordination over voice so that might factor into it

a lot easier to play range focused shield guy when you got an ogryn babysitting you 24/7

scriers gaze voidstrike is fun

extra crit means extra double balls plus the super cleave and you can obliterate effectively any amount of enemies... or one (1) crusher

Yeah, shield seems to get alot of love. I love it too, but I’ve heard other psyker players on here advise to avoid it so you don’t learn to use it as a crutch too much

But yes, I can see why it is good for higher difficulties. It really is a game changer

Currently I’m running an assail/melee build which has been going good. It does quite well vs everything except crushers really. And even then, if I use the blaze force sword I can usually pick one or two off

back in my day (2 updates ago maybe) there was an exploit involving quelling to animation cancel to output primary atk balls at 3x fire rate

they fixed it so primary attack builds are out of favour

Yeah the great sword is fantastic. I’ve been switching between both to see which I like more. I find great sword is a better all rounder, but normal blaze sword is good for the special attack
