haughty star

itt's nottt about edging lol

#

it's that notthing eeelse is worth giving up lol

marble crater
#

It's about edging chadgryn

hearty wolf
#

It's gotta be about edging surely because it's not that people want 60% warp res on staffs, they want even less (like 10%)

marble crater
#

If it wasn't about getting to high peril faster then people wouldn't try to get inferno staves with below 60% warp resistance

marble crater

Jealous, no power during smelter end event looks awesome

haughty star

it's mainly beecause enothing else is wortth giving up. quell is super impactfuul and thatt's the eonly othter thing on most tstaves you'd give up

marble crater

To be fair I did say it's for reaching high peril faster and then edging, I agree that it's easier with higher warp resistance and I am also not trying to get staves below 60%, because it's annoying to look at

  • battle meditation is bad bc you want more peril gen
  • kinetic flayer does nothing for you, waste of a talent point
  • wildfire is a useless broken talent you don't want
  • empyric resolve is really really bad, especially for purge
  • you don't take warp battery
#

that's the worst purge build i've ever seen in my entire life

marble crater
#

I disagree about kinetic flayer staregryn it's nice on the staff

jovial gust
#

It's a personalized version of a build from the Aethenum, so most of these complaints should go to @near wyvern

vocal fulcrum
#

it's a bad build regardless

#

kinetic flayer is bad because getting ONE bb every 15 seconds doesn't really do much for you

#

you could put that talent point towards %5 crit above kinetic deflection for more uptime on emphatic evasion

#

or kinetic resonance

cyan portal
vocal fulcrum
#

idk what the aethenum is

marble crater
#

Kinetic flayer gives the occasional one shot on something in the horde you don't see, or staggers a crusher about to do an overhead, stagger a mutie running through the horde. I get a lot of value out of it just from utility, and that's without the damage increase and faster blaze stacking in combination with perilous combustion

vocal fulcrum
#

getting one extra bb every 15 seconds is really not that good, especially since that talent point could get much more value elsewhere

summer prairie
#

assuming a more normal build, what node gets more value if you want more damage

vocal fulcrum
#

like i said, crit above kinetic deflection

summer prairie
#

a normal build would have that already

vocal fulcrum

for more uptime on emphatic evasion as well as more soulblaze stacks

marble crater

Like he said, a more normal build KEKW_ogryn

vocal fulcrum
#

send me the normal build

idk what you take for normal

but warp rider, kinetic deflection, emphatic evasion, in fire reborn, warp battery, creeping flames

#

when you take those, you have no talent points left over anyways 🤷‍♂️

marble crater

I wouldn't take empathic evasion out of those, or drop the last warp siphon for 6 charges

summer prairie
#

yes

vocal fulcrum
#

emphatic evasion is literally purge's strongest node

summer prairie
#

it is but if you want damage

vocal fulcrum

it enables you to play extremely aggressively

the dmg buff is nice to have, CDR is essential

summer prairie

#

it's 5% when it triggers every 15s

vocal fulcrum
#

summer prairie

someone else can kill it

vocal fulcrum

when you get them you get them in packs

summer prairie

vocal fulcrum

summer prairie

tight birch

The gunner res is multiplicative is all, so the second and third are worth less than the first

echo root
#

No

#

They still reduce the dmg by 20%

#

but it's 20% of 80%

#

so it's the same reduction

tight birch
#

The ability is multiplicative, so it does have some diminishing returns. 0.80 × 0.80 × 0.80 = 0.512, meaning that we end up with a total gunner resistance of 0.488, just below 50%

There’s a sweet spot where the difficulty starts to increase, but the mob density not really, that I’d argue is significantly more difficult than Havoc 1 - 20 for Psykers

radiant ice

#

Else after a few weeks there would only be 40s in PF

#

Which would be brutal for newer players who joined the game later than now

#

You could always demote yourself to 20 to help a new friend learn, knowing you’ll be bumped up to 40 at the end of week

marble crater
#

Don't you have to still beat the 40 though, else you would probably derank

radiant ice
#

Yeah, beat a 40 on Monday, your starting rank for the week next month for example

#

Demote to 20 to help your friend

#

Back up on following Monday

radiant frigate
#

not like there is any "benefit" to playing havoc more than once a week

radiant ice
#

Helping a friend climb! Especially if they are new and straight in at 40 may be a bit much

#

Could at least bump them from 16 to 20-25 by demoting yourself

marble crater
#

Maybe they add more modifiers and keep it fresh, though as long as ranged enemies don't change neither will the meta

radiant ice
#

That’s the thing

#

If they added more features, more modifiers, all that it’ll be fun

#

But 30-34 is where I found it fun and challenging without wanting to yank various hairs off my body

#

So it’ll be nice to do a quick 40 at the start of the week to secure my rank, then demote a few times to have fun

#

Knowing my rank is safe regardless

marble crater
#

For fun they would also have to change something about the ranking and party finder I guess. Sitting there for 20 minutes trying to find a team is not fun, neither is dropping in rank because your pub group lost

radiant ice
#

That’s the thing, if I was playing Havoc for pure fun I wouldn’t Party Find my team

#

Pubs are wild

Adding the non hidden modifiers to auric would be nice.

nocturne dust
# hearty wolf Q: Can you explain this a bit more? I'm pretty sure I understand what it does b...

Toughness regen speed is good because it helps coherency regen in exponential ways. It increases the amount you regen, yes, but it also reduces the delay. This means if you stack +90%, you can immediately start regenerating your toughness with just a bit of space from enemies which often can come through dodges. Furthermore, melee is rarely when you need toughness. It's trivial to block attacks, dodge, and feed with kills using melee or regen nodes like soulstealer. No, the real use of toughness regen is when enemies are scattered, times when you normally wouldn't be able to regen much at all due to low enemy counts but could still very easily be shot at by gunners and shooters.

#

The biggest point against toughness regen, and why I don't run it even though I think it is good, is that you need allies (if you're not Zealot) for it to do anything. It does absolutely nothing in a clutch scenario.

radiant ice
#

I feel in any situation it could benefit, it's useless

#

Because in any situation there is a better answer

#

It's good on paper but awful on practice

wicked hornet
nocturne dust
#

Well, yes, the better answer is don't get hit

nocturne dust
#

If you don't care about clutching, use it.

nocturne dust
#

It doesn't regen a small amount by any means when you stack it

wicked hornet
#

so what makes it not good at clutching? I haven't been able to clutch in auric damnation

nocturne dust
#

But you do want to run it on all curios or not at all

wicked hornet
#

so it doesn't matter because I just don't have the skill yet

nocturne dust
#

because everyone else is dead

wicked hornet
#

oh okay that's what you meant. I read that and couldn't connect the dots lol

#

thank you

nocturne dust
radiant ice
#

Found it awful

#

Especially as it only affect Coherency regen, not any other form of toughness

nocturne dust
radiant ice
#

Which pauses when near enemies, which you are surrounded by in Auric and Havoc

nocturne dust
radiant ice
#

The better answer is more raw toughness, or +HP

wicked hornet
#

I keep trying inferno staff and I just don't like it in some situations. I like the surge staff but the managing of peril in a hectic situation can get me in trouble.
