in terms of optimality i'd use it if you have some anti-armor and/or weapon with degenerate amounts of stagger on your other slots

e.g., ds4/deimos as melees and purg/trauma/(or voidstrike mayhaps but i don't use it so i won't comment on it much)

it fills in a lacking niche of psyker (if not running a gun) in offering a warp weapon that comes out quickly without having to be charged first and is able to handle mobs that are spread out efficiently because of its aim assist

Its nice for hordes/elite groups cause it means you can take something like ds4 or deimos and not worry about hordes as much (deimos is more passable into hordes but still) as well as allowing you to get into melee easier with the stagger

Ngl i rarely use my gun but but is still nice for when you are out of assail/max peril (i tend to sit at 80-90 so comminish) but it can do the same thing of allowing you to get into melee as well

Massive movespeed, amazing dodges, the heavy attacks are literally 3x the damage of a combat knife, good carapace penetration

With precog/uncanny you can 2shot a crusher

AND the special attack on it has massive stagger

so heavy>special and it's effectively a free action

they cut into each other's recovery

the light attacks cleave a handful of dregs at a time which isn't bad at all

not great but it can manage hordes in a pinch

just keep in mind that it's just the ds4 that is particularly busted

cuz it has ~40% more damage than the other duellling swords on heavies for some reason

high base damage that does hit meaningful breakpoints especially when combined with other damage buffs

the combat blade is a similarly mobile weapon, but its damage relies a lot on finesse bonuses and crits
while psyker can rack up the former (albeit still not being as good as Zealot's Duellist), the latter can't be racked up much consistently like on zealot
