#psyker-class

oh ok
I just know they exist
Fuck mutants, you can kill monsters with that poke
Killed like 5 plogryns yesterday on a monsters Maelstrom using that, was a good time
I love wildfire. Though I use it on my fire void and fire trauma since I don't really purge much anymore
I use it on blaze trauma and purg. I don't like void so never use it.
It's just a worse bolt staff from vt2.
Fire void with quell canceled half charge m2s is just so good xP
I mean it as a specials sniping tool.
Reeeeee
It's a bit mechanically demanding but it's very fun
You can't 1 shot specials like bolt in vt2.
Nah, but you can use BB
An thats just as good, personally i find a lot of value in WnR, particularly in Maelstrom because of the special volume, you burst a few things an everything around them is giga-fucked due to WnR not having a stack cap thats reasonably reachable in-game
Your warp battery
Better than wildfire
Oh i use that aswell
What if, we get talents that focus on warp overcharge explosions.
And that would make wounds curios worthwhile
I take all the fire related stuffs except AB, because KB is just infinitely better in nearly every build
dump stat for void staff?
Quell speed ideally
But even then you dont want it to be too low
Its kind of one of those that needs as much in everything as it can get
bit of a grind to get the perfect roll on a wep for stat / perk / blessing
Indeed, but it might get a boost next week so just get a few which look decent
shhh even with me abusing a bug 🤡
Hrm AB allow warp charge replenishment though. When I use fire build I barely use bb. Only for snipers or bombers far away.
It does, but it also eats said warp charges. Mind, i guess thats a playstyle difference, when using Void you're a lot more reliant on BB than you otherwise would be, even more so with WnR because its a good portion of the output
which void is salvagable?
If you change Flurry to Nexus on the first one, that'll work, also wants Flak too
Third one is ok too, but wants flak instead of crit
Its nothing amazing, but it'll work well enough
Oh I don't use void so I have no comment there.
blazing spirit good on void?
If you're willing to quell cancel a lot, its arguably the best way you can play it
Hmm I had assumed the goto blessings was warp flurry n transfer peril?
Its the most forgiving, there isnt really anything wrong with it, but its much lower output over the course of a mission
ah I see
Yes but it takes a lot of mechanical effort
And you are living on the edge of blowing up all mission if you want the most out of it
You'll have to get really good at quell canceling
Yee, the risk of becoming a human bomb is pretty high
For me fire void is a straight upgrade over purgatus
Blaze trauma for me is also straight upgrade over purg.
only reason I wanted to try out void was so I can cc a chaos spawn to death
Faster at killing everything and longer range.
???
I still play purg occasionally just for the simplicity of it.
I also love blaze trauma
trauma needs too much brain power to use
wait I had assumed that void can stun a chaos spawn indefinitely?
grenades, bull charge?
For psyker
I also found out that rumbler can cc a chaos spawn too
I know void qc can perma stunlock everything except monstrosities and mutants. But I didn't know it had enough to stagger spawn. Then again I've never tried
Unless I was high --> I saw a void psyker stunlocked a chaos spawn indefinitely yesterday
most psykers don't bother running void
Well I know what I'm trying when I get home
People sleep on void.
It's understandable
I refuse this idea
Trauma bad.
Purge good.

Someone better drop the secret to trauma or something
Cause when I use it I just feel like it's slow and cumbersome
What feats do people even use with blaze trauma
You just play melee psyker until one of hte situations Trauma is really good at show up
Aside from knocking over crushers what can it do
and far too many psykers waste time not Illisi-ing already
Wut when I play blaze trauma I have below 100 melee kills to over 1k range kills.
Illisi and Deimos need some serious nerfs
I just spam trauma the whole map and burn.
We are talking about Auric missions right. Or whatever the new tier is called
Any mission.

Why do some psykers run guns?
Lasgun XII is also pretty silly
But other guns aren't really strong enough to steal ammo for imo
Psyker's one job is to not need ammo
Hopefully we get a laspistol viable build so force push becomes cool

Psyker is for babysitting veterans and stun stuff for them. If they take damage they flame you.
Tbf you could run any staff and use illisi 90% of the time and its perfectly effective
The worst part of the laspistol push is that it'd actually be okay if it didn't do 0 knockback to flak

Takes the whole team to ensure vets don't die every 3rd minute
The struggle
illisi itself doesn't really need a nerf lol
Just run Illisi and no ranged weapon
Yes it does
It and power sword are silly
main things that need changes is
- move infinite dodges off force sword base to dueling sword
- slaughterer
Lmao
75% power is really what pushes it into bullshit territory
i don't think illisi without mods is broken lol
You can run a gray one and outperform most weapons
Illisi needs worse single target and infinite dodges removed and slaughterer nerfed
i think it's an appropriately statted weapon for the game
???
illisi is broken. if it wasnt broken it would be called wellisi
but its called illisi
use brane
Either Illisi is OP or most melees are garbage
the single target is broken because of slaughterer mainly
ok but bear with me
same thing with PS
No stop
what if instead of doing anythging about illisi or ps we simply buff the devil claw

Just make devil claw dual wield
Easy
Im pretty sure even without slaughterer up you can one shot most maniacs with the special
I'm down for this
thats why its called the special
if it was normal damage it would be called the normal
Lmao
Like unstable lets it reach the same breakpoints as deimos minus mutant
are you just parroting this because other people are saying this or have you actually tried running it without slaught
Even if you have to do two swings that's still way too good for a horde clear weapon
Yeah if its gonna have horde clear as good at it is one shots even with the special is pretty nuts
I've ran a gray one for a long time
Esp if they leave stuff like infinite dodges
Don't need to use my sword I have blaze trauma wildfire.
That is your staff 🤨
because without slaught it actually is pretty comparable with the other weapons in the game, still strong but not overtuned
The typo!!
yar I still think the dueling sword should have it
Those are the only ones I can think of that can even compete with its horde clear
yeah if you're literally naming weapons, maybe slaught is the problem?
if literally you can only name weapons with slaughter, perhaps we can see a common trend
Yeah but two of those actually need slaughterer
Illisi and Psword does not
Just activate and swing
Vroom vroom I killed a horde
psword without slaught has some major issues fyi
I would prefer they nerf blessings before base stats and see how things look
you have major trouble fighting certain enemy types and it's slow enough that against bosses you can't really do much
Cause hsword/ap arent good without them
Yeah psword has actual downsides compared to Illisi
considering literally every "overpowered" weapon in the game is overpowered because of a 75% power blessing or a 100% power blessing
perhaps your interpretation of this needs reevaluation
I consider both Illisi and Psword to be too strong even without slaughterer, but okay
Heavy Sword and BB definitely need the blessings though.
Still pretty good without them
Iirc blessing less hsword is bad
until they buffed rampage and headtaker numbers
Heavy Sword is always going to be weird because it's damage is low but it has a stupidly high cleave damage
no
it was completely unused
until they made the blessings give you that ridiculously multiplier lmao
Yeah because no one cares about horde ttk in that way. Especially when BM combat axe was an option
Anyway I'm gonna sleep. I doubt they'll really nerf the cool psyker swords though.

tell me this doesn't look cool
warp charge buffed revolver is nasty lol
I really want it but 1400 aquila 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
worth
too late
they were all melted down to make BRAIN DEVIL CLAW MK 3 (the best)
the damage falloff is a hard cutoff
In terms of diameter, a 0.2m increase in radius is a 0.4m increase in diameter. In terms of area, a 2.3m radius circle (80% blast radius) is larger than a 2.1m radius circle (60% blast radius) by roughly 1.2x
15 seconds to clear 40 poxwalkers compared to the less-well-to-do weapons which will take around 30 seconds; and that's not accounting for the abilility to stunlock ragers/maulers repeatedly and have enough base cleave to hit two ragers/maulers
very good hordeclear, good single-target, good armour mods, and good stagger
I think a weapon thats touted as a horde clear focus weapon should do well in that regards, this is 15 seconds without slaught?
How does it compare to weapons such as ps
but it shouldn't be good in single-target as well
nor should it have insane stagger
or mobility
i didn't test the psword but i assume that a psword is going to have better raw dps
So i think that once they fix first target not applying to specials, and if they move infinite dodge off fs to dueling swords
As well as removing slaught
mhm
I think it should be ok
and give the same treatment to the psword
it already has bad mobility, so just nerf its armour mods and stagger as well
100% armour mods against every armour type except carapace (75%) goes brrr
We shall see what they do,
oh and 175% against unyielding lamayo
because clearly the illisi and psword needed help with regards to diving ranged patrols
I still think the biggest offender in the games current state is the 75-100% power blessings
yeah they're pretty busted
So i wanna see those gone first
psyker is goated
but the problem is that baseline illisi and psword are also fucking busted
im the biggest criminal because i made both the illisi and slaughterer
Psyker is the hardest to master but once you do its the most powerful class easily
Laughs in Veteran Volley Fire
like CC is kind of a meme, but that's only if you're dealing exclusively CC and no damage; with the illisi and psword, you get good enough CC to stagger ragers/maulers and are able to deal damage for free
not in the current difficulty climate
CC is really good at high diff provided you have people actually dealing damage
vet is the only other class that I've played, but I've done better numbers on my vet and with much better win rates
thats me im doing more damages
Nah I’m correct and refuse to listen to other valid opinions
perish
As the Emperor wishes
A closed mind is a good mind
I'm also okay with the class specific weapons being slightly overtuned
part of the problem is 100% the fact that all the force weapons are in the same family
Compared to the generic weapons
facts
yeha i'm fine with that too
Meanwhile Zealot has three shit unique weapons
But i still dont get why FS has infinitr dodge attribute
All the swords essential do the same thing
but in the case of force weapons, feat synergies should be the ones to make them extremely strong
It should really be on the dueling sword
trust in the emperor
which from a balance perspective is completely fucking stupid because a deimos and illisi are supposed to fill opposite roles but carry a lot of the same traits because they're in the same family
We need a whip or something cool
like peril generation is fairly important for a few things, and I do think that peril generation alone is enough to give an edge over the other weapons
Would you take a glass cannon feat if it was on the tree
hell yeah, if I had enough remaining points after taking a 2nd toughness feat
Something like do 30% more dmg but you take 30% more LOL
Some bloodborne inspired gear would be great
because I will almost certainly always take two toughness feats once the new skill tree drops
yes

No protection no problems
I live and die by my skills server lag
You mean by the God Emperors will brother
depends on what baseline damage that we're all going to have and how good dps-checking will be
since dps-checking is currently the name of the game
Yar hopefully with slaughterer dumpstered
Suppression and impact will be more useful
and whether specialialists will be the main threat
Blood for the God Emperor, and skulls for the Golden Throne
Mah
Nah
With counterfire removed from the game
Biggest threat is shooters for sure
LOL
ranged enemies are whatever
i know this isnt psyker related, but is anyone here familiar with files, naming files, finding them, general trouble shooting, etc?
i've never had any problems with them besides when I was playing ogryn
and was solo after my team had all died
none of the enemy types are inherently threatening on their own
ranged enemies are just basically a knowledge-check
"do you know that you get ranged i-frames?"
(they're also probably not just removing counterfire and instead removing the ability to chain vet ults into eternity)
Wait it is?
Hopefully on October 4
Not confirmed but almost certainly
If they don't hit it and unwavering
Those two are just too good
The games with Vets not running it are like night and day
When the Vet karkin runs in and eats a billion shots and regens full toughness every second and never exits ult...

Meanwhile Ogryn sits in a corner because two gunners are looking at him funny
prob ult extensions are moved off to another node or something
I just want the support builds
There'll be more op shit to play
laughs in ripper suppression
oct 4th is probably gonna introduce as much crazy busted shit as it nerfs
which is fine, honestly, so long as its mostly talents that are free and not stuff locked behind dozens of hours of grinding
tbf i only got locked down as ogryn since i made a bad choice by going into a certain spot, and it was only scab shooters which will just stay in cover and never ever push you
ogryn is so easy to stay alive on
u pretty much have to do something stupid or get memed to go down
my lvl 27 ogryn ass 😔
I always get memed on
i was on damnation with the others
never forget my 8 million iq tactical downs
Just by existing
i did a bunch of "tactical downs" to get my hp back
since I did lose a shit ton of hp all the time
were u there that one time i said "im gonna down myself intentionally for extra hp" and some pub psyker dropped a medpack
as if he was psychically linked to me
i don't think i was
or i'm getting dementia
oh my god i have dementia
Arco were you a trauma stan
ye
Josho u never answered me
How do I use trauma
When i pinged u 😿
I don't get it
when did u ping me
uhhh, i primarily play a melee build with trauma as support
Ah ok
Like a few days ago
to me, trauma's benefit is its stagger and infinite cleave
I was told that lmao
what were u asking
i wake up to like 5+ notifs all the time
microcelebrity
gonna sell my account to one of the reddit advertisers
Micro pe nis
for dense packs with melee elites mixed in, I can just unload if there's no ranged anti-armor DPS and I need to make space so that we can actually dink the elites
or avoid dying because I went into a dropdown with 10 crushers
Uhhh how would you prioritize perk/bless on a kickback
If you couldnt afford to make a perfect one
uh
Lets say a 2/4 or 3/4
i guess it depends on what you're using it for
if you're trying specifically to chunk patrols and whatnot moreso than horde clear then its perks > blessings
but for more general purpose i think grabbing blaze away + a perk if you have to run a 2/4 is what i would do
This has to be like the most ideal trauma moment tbh
3/4 i would grab BA and 2 perks always
basically
full bore/expansive are nice but also super niche
but I also prefer trauma over purg for dealing with ranged enemies
in pubs, at least
Flak maniac as always?
yep
i see trauma as a generalist, so it's why I run it
I just
inspiring barrage w/ bloodthirsty build so you can spam bash in crowds for infinite toughness and dam resist
I just don't deal with ranged enemies with purg
true
lmfao
noh

you can't tell me what to do
one of these days i wanna do a run where i only use rumbler/kickback bash in sedition
Okay shoot your trauma staff arco
no
i refuse to use my trauma staff except when my team is dead and i'm dead
How bout club
Flak/cara haymaker/thrust?
(I tend to be in situations where using my trauma would've been the best option but I'm too scared of the stagger and attempt to shoehorn my melee in instead)
Still hunting for haymaker 4
for mk1 yeah basically. cara is the anchor perk imo and then 2nd can be unyielding/maniac/flak
It eludes me
Trauma users: trauma is great if you use your melee 90% of the time
depending on what u wanna do better against
yeah, since the stagger of trauma can trap your teammates
but all I need is a staff that can deal with rough situations and that's what the trauma is there for
trauma lets u get outta a lot of dumb situations
that's surge
at least trauma doesn't have a target cap
and kills things
I guess. I feel like purg is the staff to avoid rough situations
you can make trauma work as a primary weapon but it also has a specific niche as a secondary
i'd put purg and trauma on the same level
the problems with people who use trauma as a primary is mostly a behavioral thing
where they try to blow up hordes you're meleeing and knock shit around
or detting bursters on you
^
i'm melee-focused, so I have an inherent bias against trauma psykers who use it for 99% of the game
Idk, to me purg feels like easy mode
honestly one of the few weapons where the rending blessing is great
While trauma is like big brain
trauma feels pretty easy to use, but I also have like 900 levels on psyker purely with trauma + force sword
but psyker is a juggling class by nature
trauma has jank to it you have to learn which makes it fun to me
once you know the spots where you can comfortably aim the trauma, then it should be smooth sailing
purg lacks enough decision making for me to use it at all
oh i love purge but that's cause I'm zealot brained
trauma feels safer to use aggressively regardless of whatever pub team that you have and on sections that don't have linear corridors
I like to traumatise the edges of the horde, funnels them towards the grinder

i can't stay on my toes cause i'm locked in place by prone poxwalkers
I mainly play trauma as an overwatch role, feels pretty good
make sure not to place the circle onto your teammates unless they're running the knife or some shit
Just sniping that one or two stray walkers that are going for a sneaky shank
me trying to avoid the trapper moments after the trauma psyker has detonated their blast
trust in the hsword/illisi/pswords/bb3
RIP crit builds
Zealot sad
me dying from full hp after being unable to dodge from having my feet stuck in poxwalkers
crits have such a cool effect for how shit they are
Just use the glorious crusher
Best weapon in the game
You'll instead die of old age
And so will the enemies
I unironically enjoy it though
Only 57 bonks
Best worst weapon
the main good crit weapon (knife) being relegated to mid-tier at best and crits being super interesting and complex mechanically but outclassed by shit that rewards you for mashing m1

and ranged crits blinding you with the muzzle flash
for all the gambling addicts out there
the way crit damage interacts with stuff like uncanny is fairly complicated
yeah, it interacts with weakspots and rending
as a whole, i think it's fairly complicated since you have to consider those things when balancing crits
since crits kind of do a lot of minor things by default and then if you want to make cool stuff, you'll have to consider these baseline effects
From that PoV then kind of
Idk why crits isn't just
A damage multiplier
Since they aren't really doing much with them
And the crit bonuses are terrible on almost all weapons
Ogryn having a 15% damage boost on crits
But a bunch of crit blessings
ogryn weapons in general have absolutely god awful finesse
and random weird shit like most weapons still having bodyshot prio
or the global -2% crit chance
Ogryn is very confused
it's a crime twin stubbers can't roll cavalcade
which thematically i can understand everything except the bodyshot prio
that is fucking awful
It's a good thing
skullbreaker and psykinetic felt the most unfinished at launch
trauma staff not having a charge indicator at launch lol
Crits just dont have enough support from the rest of the game lol
You can kinda build around crits in vt
But you cant really in dt
They just need to like 10x crit damage boosts
like psyker needed a rework of a lot of feats and ogryn needed straight up fixes and it's still a very bland tree
The only building around crits in DT is just adding more chance yeah
Except maybe zealot
first thing first, they need to fix crit damage bonuses
to apply to the entire critical hit (same with weakspot)
Even then they nerfed the one part that made crit competitive on Zealot
And now no one runs it
still probably a bit short of a 25% damage perk but it's a start
Meanwhile in vt, they have stuff like bh autocrits, zealot guaranteed crits, gk instakill crits
If it was actually 10% total it'd at least be an option
What does this mean for a weapon like illisi where its one hit
what?
there are some blessing grand 100% crit chance after using weapon specials , aint that something xD
Ive never understood how crit damage is calculated wrong
right now weakspot and crit damage only applies to the bonus damage itself
which average in this game
is 40%
so you get a boost of 4% of your total hit, from the perk
it would be nice if all those weapons didn't suck
2.77%
i meant , if i used the special , most of the time the enemy is already dead
the extra crit after that just bruh
like, god chain weapons is another flop even the best one numbers wise (chaxe) is so fucking clunky even with slaught 4 headtaker 4
it still sucks
Yeah almost all crit blessings are terrible
Ive heard chaxe isnt that bad but i don't use it cause it feels like ass to use
Chainsword is tolerable
Evis is sad
all of them is bad
chaxe has perfectly fine numbers besides it's unyielding damage could be higher
chsword isn't fine it's a fancy dclaw that doesn't have shit flak damage
you still go Sweep Rampage
Eviscerator is trash
there is no room for mediocre in 40k
evi is a joke, how H1 QQ horde clear combo got approved at fatshark needs to be put on lawnmowing duty
Also
"horde clear"
Hard cap at 3 targets
Thanks fatshark
That's what a horde clear weapon needs
that's something I noticed, generally melee weapons that suck have to take savage sweep rampage
just to function
God I wish the eviscerator was good
someone who didn't trust the cleave system, apparently
It's so cool
lets not cope too hard chaxe is a weapon so bad it caan run double power blessings with slaught and nobody uses it
this lmao. it's just painful
it's not bad it's just imo clunkier and worse to use than the other 3 chain weapons
it's a truly atrocious weapon that fucks your camera and has unbelievably bad single target when you account for rev time
it also has... incredibly bad maniac damage
just surreally bad
basically, best stats (for a chain weapon), but worst moveset and mechanics
like, you have to press F on zealot AFTER your rev'd attack hits to get the bonus
Idk, chainsword has cleave at least
and fast rev
chaxe was at least kinda entertaining with the thrust bug
i put chsword in the same category as dclaw
but the last time i used it i just wanted to cry
one goes brrr one doesn't
Dclaw is way worse
kek
Chainsword actually works with certain blessings
"works"
because chainaxe has literally no purpose and u can at least cope that devil claw has minor defensive utility and if u squint maybe u killi a poxwalker
I mean we're fighting over like tenth place tbd
Tbf
It's not really a big competition
does anyone have dclaw anyway?
tbf the buff to like, the heavies? it's, not terrible now it's just a worse thunderhammer and plays like shit
But devil claw is just like a wet fish slap
dclaw has terrible flak, carapace, and maniac damage
basically a dead weapon meta wise
And chainsword can actually kill hordes
is it the worst? maybe
dclaw is love
"actually kill" where is the ttk 50 horde
dclaw has terrible maniac damage?
It doesn't
lmao
Never use it
crab can explain it since he likes to use the dclaw (deranged)
of all the things u can make up
you can block melee attacks if you time it right, doesn't work on overheads and certain attacks from monsters
that's actually very funny
the dclaw allegedly has good maniac damage iirc i can't remember because the last time i used dclaw i blacked out
The parry is a terrible attack and uses up stamina and doesn't even do enough stagger
and uhh, only parries one attack, good stagger but shit damage, and leaves you open for successive hits
thats about the only thing it can do
I think the one thing I like on dclaw is that it staggers pretty well
But that's not really worth using it for
hello what about the 450 optimal headshot dps on unyielding
i call that "pretty worth"
get with the program MAN
god mom
One shot Flamers too
huh that's pretty good
Go to your room, son
hes already in his room we cant stop him
I'll take the Internet away
i'll chew on the landline
but ye u can bring a claw when ur doing monstro maelstrom on vet and just use it as a defensive stick for boss defense and slap a poxwalker or two between firing the helbore its ok, chaxe just literally kills u and does nothing so d claw wins by default here
comes out ahead by doin nothin (but u can save stamina parrying plogryn charge and cap the block cost hell yea)
I find dclaw to be usable
would u say its one of the weapons of all time
Thats a good way to put it
I'd rather use dclaw than psword
deranged
i barely use chaxe lights
wait a second...
It's not based on effective use, I just hate the shitty dodges and special spam
every swing with chaxe is giving yourself up to gods will which is why its only for zealots
just spam heavies and a push attack if there is 2 or more bruisers
ye
still deranged
you deranged person
deranged

I'm a Zealot main
I prefer psword to dclaw but only when i dont charge it
I'm obviously deranged
cause LMAO chaxe lights are a whole other mess
psword has cool effects with the special
i prefer melee as a psword vet than an illisi psyker
Psword is so sloooow
What even is chaxe cleave limit on lights
funny story
1
if u get enough power to cleave
Cause you just get stuck on body mass
Or less
Push Attack > H2 my beloved.
if your light attacks cleave
you do about 10% damage
because the shredding is the majority of your damage
push attack > H2 to avoid using the booby trap attacks and still do nothing....
inspirational...
It's to avoid using H1 > H2 because bad.
If I take Chaxe I take it to 1 shot elites.
both push attack and heavies target capped too, its like the perfect mixture of terrible weapon properties
I havent used chaxe in forever but i think it still managed to cause me less physical pain than recon
Absolutely. It is not blessed by any means. However if I want a chain alternative to a Thammer I'll take Chaxe because it sucks for horde clear about the same and does about the same damage to non-unyielding enemies iirc.
Recon
Horrible against bosses for a few reasons, but it'll kill a Crusher in 1 hit.
"if you want a chain alternative to the thunder hammer" well you see ...
the thunder hammer is already the bad thunderhammer
u dont need to make it worse by making the self-stun also a rev

I only find recon unfun because when i really desperately need to kill the bomber in the back i cant
And theres 8 of them
and the thammer is bad in like, cool and unique ways
like the 0 armour mod on the flak cleave
Yes but no chain not cool.
now thats innovation
like i love real jank dogshit in this game im a known dogshit enjoyer
but the chainaxe is just not even funny, its like getting naked and rolling around in a pile of thumb tacks
Why would I want chnvvvv vwooom followed by lightning noises when I could get KRRRVVVVVROOOOOOOOM and chain saw noises
how many buffs to make chaxe usable is the question
unlike other slaught weapons its terrible with slaught right
so what ungodly CRANKAGE does that poor lad need
You gotta die every time you swing
I tend to only use Headtaker + Thrust. Gives exactly the output I'm looking for. Of course, I use it on Zealot so I get extra melee stuff but I don't spec into it any harder than other weapons.
I wouldn't recommend it on say, Veteran, because my current understanding of the best horde clear combo is stamina dependent and it isn't worth it to clear hordes with a Chaxe.
It's like the downsides of Deadshot but without anything nearly as beneficial.
if you are spending stamina
to do a 3-target capped puish attack
ur in trouble
if a horde clear combo does not in fact clear a horde
what should one call it
philosophical question
end of the day , the prb with Chaxe , is Chaxe
However I use it because fun and can almost pull it's weight. Not by any means do I use it to outclass a different weapon. All I am is a chain weapon enjoyer but not really a stan for them, as they are reasonably malnourished.
big patch better buff them or we riot
We evidently have different tastes regarding using poorly balanced weapons Mr. Crab, but I will stand by and say that despite it being bad it's still fun to use for me. Similar to how people partake in bull riding for fun (weirdos).
i hate the chainaxe because it is a chainsaw axe in a game that does melee combat very well and it's one of the most upsetting weapons to use in the entire game
it's just a cosmic tragedy
with the evis u can see they tried something with the mechanics at least
the insane jank of the rev heavy and so on
but with chaxe it really does feel like they gave up
i already know that the blessings are almost all first pass stuff with little revision but yea
Yeah, again, I'd say it's pretty malnourished. Zero QoL is present with the Chaxe. Only redeeming feature is the single target damage and it's outclassed by a more fleshed out weapon. But I think that's why it's fun for me to use, jumping through hoops to use the thing keeps my rot-consumed brain happy.
it's wild that they slapped all that +power on it but never considered the cleave + rev interaction and how it instantly breaks
u need to go back tot he stop and demand a refund
nad they have to give u a second one
AT LEAST
I'd still probably use my MkVII Dclaw more, but I'll always keep my Chaxe around just in case I'm ever feeling it.
somewhere out there is the mirror universe
and they have Good Chaxe
and they're laughing...
Good chain weapons in general for that matter.
Warp resistance as a dump stat on the illisi?
Mobility
Warp res doesnt need to be 80 but you dont want it super low since your spamming specials ideally
Low warp res isnt the end of the world though
Im using one till i roll a better one
Just got bloodthirsty, didn't know it was on force swords.
man car car
But just pulled deflector 4 off my 368 force sword put it on my 377 with 60 warp resist
How do you feel about me being an official zealot main
psword dodge is so short, even with 80 mobility you can't dodge chaos spawn grab with a normal dodge
need to do dodge slide
I use thrust chainaxe just to see the animation more often
you can dodge the grab if you're near the center and go to the right instead of left or backwards
yeah thats what im saying, most weapons can dodge the grab by going left but not powersword
DIE
eh, even with the other weapons
not as great against the chaos spawn but you can also spot dodge a bunch of things anyways
besides for diving ranged patrols, I don't really count dodge distance for anything
since I'm used to dodging with BB while channeling anyways
High dodge distance is how you ledge yourself
i tried to fight chaos spawn a few times in the psykanium, with caxe/taxe/shovel you only need 1 stamina curio to 1v1 the spawn as vet
with the psword you need 2 stamina curio, and even that is cutting it close
so it kinda seems like the new talent system really isnt gonna solve the porblem of blessings and weapons defining if your pulling your weight or not, according to jtclive and other folks who got to playtest
as long as there is a clear power difference between weapons/blessings that will always be the case IMO
Yea, doesn't surprise me at all
yeah it's not as good as the other weapons and whatnot, esp when compounded with vet's longer dodge cooldown
though my build is always anti-boss so I don't care for soloing bosses too much
Do those hidden mechanics stay? Like the stupid vet stam Regen delay
whaddya mean stay
do you mean in like the playtest or whatnot, cuz I'm not a playtester
or the zealot 100% thoughness damage reduction while sliding
Yea like are they tied to the character
vets getting oneshot by scap captain because they dodge the overhead too early and can't dodge again for nearly 2 seconds
though if they nerf the blessings and don't nerf the feats, then that'll move strength away from our weapons and to our base kit

G i t g u d
being able to take >2 toughness feats will prob alleviate people's concerns with ranged combat
vets being able to get enough toughness to tank a crusher overhead (260)
and also overheads being extremely lenient to dodge in general
Vet being able to tank several sniper shots
vets can get enough thoughness to tank a sniper round during volley fire (306.25)
actually vets can tank sniper and overhead for same reason
306.25 innit
Vet more like veg
i do take a single sniper res
and just slapped combat ability regen, block eff, and whatever elsewhere
Comb-
i'm not a counterfire vet so i can't reliably extend my ult
shaving off 3 seconds off of what is essentially a 20-second cooldown is pretty good
and that's in the minimum case
vet's ult is essentially gives them god mode
with auto reload and thoughness recharge, getting shorter cooldown basically gives you more thoughness / second
for stuff like monstrosity maelstroms, I won't be able to extend anyways
and having that sweet 2.625x bonus against monstrosities more frequently will be real nice
This is the worst
1 sharpshooter vs 300 scab gunners, who wins ?
graia brauto with pinning fire
People don't actually run sprint efficiency?
Nice
i used to be a 3x stam with all of the stamina perks on my vet and psyker early on
back when i was still poking into damnation for the first time i had three +3 (but actually +1) stam curios lul
but now it's like
i can multiply my stamina bar by a factor instead of using up a curio slot to do it
even if that multiplication is use dependant

personal preference, but i'd dump mobility
I got Slaughter and Bloodthirsty and even if it's not optimal Bloodthirsty looks so fun.
Considering I spam the special.
i run warp absorption so I don't care for peril generation for quietitude, and being able to spam the special is worth more than having a damage bonus from peril
surge/trauma for melee builds
Which I am sorta going for.
Slashy Psyker.
Ideal blessings / traits for surge staff?
The crit one and charge reduction ones?
Illisi is also the best to pair with guns, since you can spam the special without having to discharge it to build peril
nexus flurry perks flak+your choice of unarmored, maniac or unyielding
I would def pair illisi with shredder
Also, I'm running two health curios should I just run a third or get +3 stamina in the third slot instead 🤔
Definitely coming around on not bringing bonus wounds
You only need +1 wound imo for higher difficulties
Ugh. Why is the psyker armor from the commissary so much more expensive than the other classes 😡
I really rarely go down and then get back up in auric personally lol
With Illisi, it's really easy to get % Toughness procs with Warp Absorption. Alternatively, since you're running Gunker, Essence Harvest is also an option since you cannot generate peril enough to use Quietitude. Because of this, +Toughness scales really well, giving extra safety from ranged damage. My Psyker runs 2x Toughness 1x Stamina (I use a Deimos with Deflector running KD). I'd recommend a mix of Health/Toughness, and a +Stamina only if you're running a Force Sword with Deflector.
I am running deflector, which is a big part of why I'm considering +stam. Will consider toughness though. Appreciate the cushion vs gunners but it feels like 90% of the time I'm clenched in auric is when the stuff that strips toughness start firing.
Really shouldnt even need that if you're comfortable in higher settings
More HP or Toughness is nearly always preferable
I am not comfortable enough in higher difficulties for only 2 wounds
Honestly since I started paying attention to it I have not gone down twice between med stations at all. If things are going that poorly I'm usually dead lol
Thats fair, you'll get there though, does take time
I bring zero wounds on everyone
wounds bad
dont plan around failing
He's right tbh^
don't be that player
The extra value from just one HP curio in its place does outweigh the usefulness of a wound by quite a margin it must be said
For the longest time I've been running 2 hp curious and never regretted it. Plenty of times I'm running around at <20% health and thank goodness for their existence
i have a build with 3 wound curios so i can troll my friends and be the grenade
The biggest brain psyker imo
I mean, i guess by radius due to the distance you're splattering your brains 😄
It is funny to be the human bomb tho
i also like to overcharge my plasma at the end of missions and claim to be the psyker now
perils of the warp does like 2k damage so there's some utilty there lol
Guess it's settled I'm going all wounds then
perils does like 600 damage up close
At least theoretically I am not comfortable.
In practice I don't own wound curios and if I do I don't use them because my HP curios are stupidly strong
Still makes me laugh that i got the old version of "Out with a bang" from saving a Vet from a Mauler squad by exploding myself 😄
Totally on accident, but it was a win nonetheless 😄
I got the old Out With a Bang by trolling my IRL friends while playing the game
"YOU STAY RIGHT THE F THERE DON'T YOU DARE HELP ME" I shout, I as I run into a berserker patrol with a trauma staff, then start shouting triumphantly when I go down
They didn't understand at first but once they started trying to do the veteran 'don't get hit' triumph they knew my tribulations
it'll chunk reapers for about half their health on damnation if you're right next to them
they should both count as unyielding 😂
Imagine if it had ogryn Heavy Stub blessings
fucking babysitting trauma psykers are the worst
fuckers will see me with a psword and decide to put their circle directly on or in front of me
and in a power outage mission
To be fair Arco, AoEs in the hands of anyone who doesnt know how to use them is annoying, Ogryns with Rumbler, Vets throwing grenades at the feet of people in melee an Psykers with Trauma doing the same
yeah, I've expressed my discontentment with rumbler ogryns as well
but I don't see them enough to rant about them too often
but maybe when I have one of the best hordeclear melee weapons, they should put their circle elsewhere
or not put their circle on me when i'm fighting a horde or diving a ranged patrol
You'd think, but alas
annoying little shits
Its one of the top 5 most irritating habits a Darktide player can have
They're such useful weapons and yet I see them misused frequently.
and this was in a power outage mission so I was getting legitimately blinded
e.g., when I'm aiming my bolter with my ult up and they decide to blast their circle
psykers who've never played other classes are the most infuriating of the bunch
shit playstyles
shit opinions
Again, true in the case of all classes tbh
but even more infuriating as a psyker main
seeing dumb little shits remark on brainburst having good single-target DPS
If someone only plays one, then they dont know how to work with others properly
Meanwhile ogryn with the box
Only things Box kills in one hit that brainburst cant be made to is Reapers an Muties tbf
I guess bulwarks too, but thats harder to pull off with box
Still
Brainburst is better cause its basically infinite
And you dont need to aim or anything
I like that brainburst explodes heads
Oh dont get me wrong, i love brainburst, as a Void player you end up heavily reliant on it, but its far from a DPS tool. Merely burst damage, clue in the the name an what not
I like the audible crunch of it
I feel like a real psychic monster when I make a poxburster’s head turn into applesauce
Just dont pop them in someones face
Too late
Its fuckung annoying
Only way to make it a DPS tool is abuse WnR not having a stack cap thats actually achieveable in-mission, but then thats not single target DPS either
I mean it works
Ye for sure, it gets a lot of undeserved hate because you have to set it up to be effective an that takes time, but it gains a lot more value the higher up the difficulty ladder you go
Especially if the team isnt exactly balanced
Well thats why Psyker is so valuable with its kit, you can do a bit of pretty much everything all in one build ey
Which is almost always
Can work pretty well if everyone is competant
I mean it worked
UR annoying
Not for me as a professional ball washer you just send em flying
I've still yet to find one T4 Warp Flurry on a Trauma Staff since Launch
Why is my luck like this?
Buy a rabbit's foot 😄
grots foot
Or aquire one through other means
I dont like that they made blessings in this way overall
Its just way too complicated to get into
I thought ill be good after hundreds of hours in vermintide, i was wrong
It took me a good bit of time to even get how items work
With their gear score
T4 Warp Flurry is the ONLY Blessing I don't have for Trauma Staffs
Pls FS
Give it to me
i have hopium for a tutorial for crafting
I was looking for best gear score possible in google and still not sure.
I got it that base best for weapon is 380
But for curious there is no info
80 max for the main perk and 75 for the side perks (25 each)
however, curios currently have a bugged ass rating
which popped up in the patch when they allowed you to mix-n-match your perk and blessing modifications
and before that patch, t4 side perks were bugged to contribute 5 extra rating to the total
so people didn't really bother to talk about the rating of curios cuz they're fairly whack
making 80 + 75 = 155 is a really hard task to do
The fact that game itself doesnt tell you this, is kinda a problem too
FINALLY
I just spent 200k, along with recycling Dockets from dismantled Staves, into Consecrating
and on the very last one
I finally got it
Emperor be praised
trash it
Ive never even seen a t4 less so t5 but ive only played for maybe 5 6 days
I hope we get to use Inner Tranquillity with Warp Unleashed with the October 4th update
It'd go hard with Trauma Staff
Fun fact rending shockwave doesn't increase your own damage.
So just don't even bother to run it.
I like it cause it makes ogryn #44441 who blasts his heavy stubber into carapace kill slightly quickly
tru
