You generally just spam as fast as you can with surge so charge rate isn't quite as important
If you just want to stun - there is no need to charge Surge. Charging is for killing Armored Ogryns

if they can actually kill stuff you are stunning quickly left it is

Good enough if you have some range on it. You can thin horde out by significant numbers with just basic LMB spam and even trigger "killing spree" voicelines from team with it
It's still better than zzaping poxwalkers anyway
First thing to learn - is to ignore existence of Crosshair for LMB bolt - it makes you waste time.

Mmmm, I'm testing it in the psykanium on heresy and it takes two bolts to kill a single groaner without a headshot, 3 for dreg bruisers. It can kill a poxwalker on one shot but that might be because I have unarmored damage on my staff

Bolt should kill any rank-and-file enemy with a single headshot - poxwalker, scab, dreg - does not matter.
Headshot being the key word, highly unreliable on the staff

Well. My average run on heresy is 150-200 plasteel and 80-120 diamantine. So it's close to double tho.

I'm more often play Malice and it's 3/1 Plasteel/Dalamantie. With occasional Heresy
My experience with malice is that you don't necessarily get more plasteel, but you do get less diamantine by comparison to heresy

Yes, but it's, as you stated, depends on how much you roll.
I also noticed that quite often spots with large clusters of materials are ignored (becuase they require quite a bit of side-tracking from fastest route)
Running herecy and damnation you get around twice the plasteel compared to diamantine, however, when you upgrade, you spend around three times the plasteel compared to diamantine.
I try my best to open everything for mats in a timely manner, even though it's a lot of effort to do all the time

There were no plasteel stravation for me even once, only dalamatine starvation

Not experienced with VT2, how is handmaiden supposed to be played?
Its an agile melee class with a charge ability, great for flanking or dodging in and out of melee to avoid damage
One of the classes unique features is that you dodge farther than other characters, too
It was bizarre, I knew they have some sort of speed boost, but I didn't expect them to pull the whole zone. I've never see that before. Two of them got too far ahead and died, and it was over at that point.

You dont need to charge ahead and aggro everything to do the under 20 mins penance but some people play like you do

25% of 100-125 damage isnt an amazing boost, especially compared to the 400-something youre dealing to Flak and like the 1-2 Carapace Armored enemies that surge contends with
Higher difficulty scabs might require more than one uncharged zap. And +20-25 vs Flak helps with it. While killing poxwalkers and dregs is alway takes too much zzaps to do despite any bonuses

The only means for it are using your ult or proccing battle meditation (10% chance to quell 10% peril on kill) after you have entered the animation.

Unstable power on a FS is good at high tier btw since it applies not only to your sword but to BB and staff. At >97% peril your BB would do +20% damage, which probably lets you hit some breakpoints with warp charges/lacerations
Honestly the only big change to psykanium i'm really wishing for is having enemies attack us, so i can test blocking and enemy damage

FS does well out of basically everything except warp res which matters a bit less
finesse is a big multiplier for FS, up to 2.3x damage on weakspot/crit at 80%
and first target is another chunk
First target a big deal for force charged attacks iirc
generally I look for damage/finesse/first target, then mobility and warp res as the least important
so would the 160 one be better?

The default for critical is 80% and extreme 97%. It is possible they changed critical from 80 to 97 because critical is actually to determine whether you blow up when using a staff
Extreme should probably just be lowered to 80, not sure if extreme threshold is used for anything else

Warp Nexxus can be interpreted as "stacks 5 times max 3%" or "3% over 5 times"

Pretty sure Ive had zealot one shot me during it.
It was the.. when you hit multiple enemies you will instantly kill one man-sized enemy, not 1:1 that wording.
And blessing could be inherited to ranged so ogryn could blow you up or shoot with stubber

I just consecrated a 17% toughness curio to yellow and it rolled 5% toughness on the new perk

I think its merit is mainly in damage reduction, thats all I see on it.

Both have cleave, other one is better suited at cleaving horde while the other will have easier time dealing with a single mauler / scab rager

There are three.
Mk II and Mk IV have cleave, Mk V has extra defence stat instead of cleave.
The defence stat gives more dodge distance wich is additive with the mobility stat. It also gives you sprint efficient allowing you to sprint faster for longer. However, it also rolls for dodge counts which overlaps with your mobility roll (you don't get mobility + defence count dodges but the one that has most of it)
Between Mk II and IV, other one has 3 slash light chain and 2 stab heavies, the other has a 4 slash light chain with 1 stab and 1 overhead heavy.
The one with 2 stabs deals more (single target) damage with the heavies (if I recall this is Mk II), especially to flak.
Mk V has a different light chain, 2 slash into 1 overhead and the heavy attack chain is 2 overhead strikes.
That would be 5 aquillas pls.

MK V is great with something like purg because of the high damage profile on its heavies and you aren't as concerned about its horde clear. so it can also depend on staff choice for sure

It's easy to miss especially in the early levels because the stat bonuses are so low.
The only thing one might notice is that the moveset is slightly different.
The difference in stats becomes more apparent at higher levels when you start to get good rolls on them.

I run mine with Purgatus as a mobility stick, so I am looking at Mk II or Mk IV with the following stat priority:
- Mobility
- Damage
- Finesse
- Penetration
- Cleave targets
- Cleave damage
And for perks, +maniac and +flak
Blessings, rampage and shred
Flak seems like a useful perk for any weapon so far
You could also go with Mk V with Purgatus, I just like to be able to cleave a bit even with melee

recon lasgun with it works nice
just lmb a special and the passive bb triggers, upping every shot by 15%
also works well against field bosses
the funny thing is you've chosen the weakest per shot of the lasguns to do that with
only issue with lacerate is the dmg only applies to non-warp attacks
triggers way more often and faster than a semi auto las

Leveling a Vet right meow. It's pretty gross. Both light and heavy chains are all cleaving horizontals. Light for damage, heavy for stagger. Cleanest head-collecting melee swings I've seen since I started the game.

Lag depends on the routing mostly. So you either can have bad or good routing to the servers and to the host. It won't solve the problems really, just different people will suffer in different scenarios. Unfortunately there are no silver bullet for this(except throw more money for the servers in different locations). You basically can lag while playing with the neighbour from apartment behind the wall if you use p2p connection.

they've been writing code for p2p servers for a decade or something like that, suddenly thrown into creating dedicated servers, im sure they are different fundamentally

they are different - writing for a "every player is a client" model is significantly easier
so dedicated servers are much more difficult?
For the first release with dedicated servers it's too decent i would say. Neither they hired a people who actually understand something or just pay for external studio to make a netcode for them. If it's 2nd case, competence will be a problem, but it's really dumb decision in a long run.

stability is a hard test, too - cause like, the game hasn't crashed much for me at all in the last ~30 days, that could be considered stable... but i get a lot of weird issues with stutters etc

There are definitely some small server issues, at least. Client taking forever to pull up the current shop rotation, weapon and curio inventories loading just as slow or sometimes showing up completely empty until you reload, etc. Just had my 3rd hard crash in the past 2 weeks an hour or so ago too.

Well, synchronising data between server and client i guess, since you are in lobby with a bunch of people.
And not registering inputs since packet losses or whatever reason why server hanging on certain operations.
And for sure people on wifi will suffer the most, since wifi is a halfduplex connection which can either send or receive info at one moment.
the biggest problem with wifi is that it's a shared medium connection, so not only are you running half-duplex, any other device on the same network is competing for bandwidth at the same time

the best trick for penance chasing is to go into it knowing you aren't going to be completing missions
find a map with the right starting area(s) and farm that
