You'd be surprised how many folk really don't even want the hoes for the sex alone, they want actual connection with another human, or to actually understand something intimate about themselves that those people literally can train themselves to draw out from someone. Some people deadass utilize certain spaces as a therapeutic experience that just happens to coincide with the carnal. It's a matter of the command and capability that people in that line of work are often spoken of poorly with what their skills can actually do. And this all before the dangers that come with moving in that line of work, or being in a tough enough spot where you really got only so many more options to stave off the worst of what being impoverished can offer. The harm that can come from an intentional refusal of pay, let alone theft of content in this case can have cascading dangerous consequences for the people performing the labor. That pay that could've gone to their own health needs, screening practices, personal upkeep and so on all play a role into why someone intentionally skipping out on paying is no different than a craftsman being ripped off after completing a work.

The difference there is that one is seen in a way that can guarantee systemically sustained abuses and whatnot, with familiar societal ills always lurking to reproduce themselves for such a vulnerable kind of worker.
