What weapon should I use as a zealot?

All weapons can be used on zealout, some are kinda cracked though.

You follow a process of picking your melee, then a ranged choice to complement that.

If your melee doesnt deal with carapace well, you might take a revolver, bolt pistol, or boltgun.

My recommendation would be relic blade, mk3 evisc, rashad combat axe, mk2 tac axe, mk4/7 dclaw (pick your poison, they're both decent), or crusher.

Dclaw is the only one here that suffers horribly against armor.

Tac axe, with a crit build, will deal with crushers relatively easily.
