When I say NMS stations, I want to park in my space and then bunnyhop down the gate terminal hallway with some rando before heading to the space bar where I can mingle with players in open play, recruit NPC crewmates, or accept a mission from a nebulous terminal on a wall that lets us access the regular station services menu

Like allowing us to go full RP and walk off our ship to the bar to pick up a mission from one of the Contacts directly somewhere on station, or just opening station services and accepting straight from your cockpit if you don’t feel like walking

There's a crate with an open end in the middle of the room, if you hold up in that you can just cycle chorus/bubble/voc until you have to go touch the flare, then repeat the process. It's the easiest part of the mission, believe it or not.

People are just silly and think sitting by a gate is the better strategy when the crate actually protects you from shooters at every angle.

It completely depends on the state of progression in your account. If you're not max level, just use what you find or grab something nice from melk.

If you are max level and it's a weapon that you want to be using, you can invest a little bit into getting a nice one. But if you're a newer account (based on you asking these questions) you don't have a ton of resources to throw at the problem and should use them judiciously. Like having a weapon's mastery maxed out and only making minimal changes to it. Buying and maxing specific weapons you intend to use to carry yourself (and not just testing things)

Since we're in zealot chat, some solid weapons that do work in say, damnation or lower would be like the dueling sword mk4, the combat knife, and the rashad combat axe.

Relic sword is great, but I'm not sure how it feels early on and most of its power comes from its ability to deal with DENSE hordes, which you don't get early.

Thunder Hammer is fun, but it's not a "solves all the problems" weapon outside of making it so you don't learn how to kill crushers.

Chain axe/sword is fine, but not something I'd want to recommend.

Eviscerator is a bit outdated, but it'd also carry you up to aurics if you prefer to use that. But the faster weapons I listed above are more forgiving with movespeed and dodges, and all three of them deal with armor plenty well.

I feel like the intention was to have Zealots slowly improve as they're whittled down, only for every player to just . . . sit in a red barrel or let some groaners/gunners take their health down so that the design's generally botched.

I'd definitely use it if you didn't need so much investment into wounds when more than 3 are never going to be relevant.

Even in the Brute Conscripts modifiers I don't bother with 'em. Toughness, CDR, Stamina regen and sprint efficiency. If you sneeze too hard they're suppressed.

the arguemnt for block eff is that it helps with revives but if you aren't stupid with where and when you choose to revive, it wont matter
