Few more words how I view it:

Imho on Havoc as Zealot you use Bolter in following order of priority:
0) You don't (you fight in melee, relying on Vet to deal with regular ranged threats)

1. Against bosses (but only if there is pressure and the boss needs to die quickly)
2. Against specialists, shooters and gunners (because Vet alone sometimes can't deal with them all, while others run flamer / inferno and have little range capability - 2nd Zealot just knives, Psyker just BB)

In particular you very rarely shot into elites or crowds - you want to deal with them in melee backed by golden toughness and crowd control.

So Bolter Blessings:
Puncture - great against boss (+40%? dps), average against elites
Cavalcade - good against boss (+10% dps), good against elites (+10% dps)
Shattering Impact - meh against boss (+5% dps), great against crushers only (Bolter has good damage profile against everything but carapace)
Pinning Fire - does nothing against boss, great against elites mixed with horde (+25% dps)
Surgical - does nothing against boss, nothing against elites, but lets you save 30-50% ammo and time when shooting specialists, shooters, gunners - thus leaving you with significantly more ammo to "waste" on bosses or even elites.

My preference is Puncture + Surgical.
Purely against bosses you can do Puncture + Cavalcade.
If Crushers and other elites are a problem (imho they shouldn't be) you do Puncture + Shattering Impact or Pinning Fire.

Tl;dr bleed doesn’t hit the same elite breakpoints on havoc as it does on regular difficulties, so if you want to kill bosses use Punct. - Cava. and if you wanna kill elites do shat. impct. - pf.

Personally, and especially on the zealot class, I go puncture cavalcade as I can just pop fent (celerity stim) and magdump a boss a couple times.

Yes, it helps others a bit. Though usually there are two people damaging boss - you and someone else, while others deal with the rest of the shit.
I don't think it helps your melee much - Maccabian has full damage profile against unyielding and the Brittleness lasts only 5s.
