The elevation differences are so slight though. Like, we're talking quarter stairs at best. Hell, I'd probably not even remember it if it wasn't for the fact it'll spawn waves of the same enemy type and nothing else.

Right, but it would seem that the only thing being randomized is the maximum modifier potential, and not like, the base modifier. So instead of getting a 65 that you level to 100, it's like getting a 0 you have to level to 65. At least, that's the interpretation I'm worried about.

Aye, the new mace feels damn fine to use. A solid all-rounder for sure. And I like the bolt pistol as a compromise between anti-elite/specialist and anti-shooter weaponry. More bullets than a revolver with good suppression on groups, but you can still get those juicy long-range one taps on snipers and gunners with the right build and a well aimed headshot.
They did a good job with this batch of weapons in general.
