Adding a staff psyker does more for the team's ammo economy than adding a surv aura vet who is actively shooting a lot

Psyker is its own beast to measure; even with 2 psykers with no ammo needs if you have a rumbler oggy and plasma vet they gonna fight each other for ammo; surv helps alot in soo many low ammo count weapons and locks out of grabbing any ammo for stuff like kickback, GG, heavy stub and zealots range choices, even the flamer (cause if you flame every single horde you just waste ammo on chaf)

Almost everytime i had a vet with surv aura i did not need to grab ammo through the majority of the game (usually i took it when vet was full or just telling me to take it cause i need it more at that time)

One mission i had one ammo pickup and that was only because everyone else did not need it and i had space to fill up.

So as to not waste that pickup

Once you learn how to stretch your reserves to the limit, you will discover that you can last a long time with the ammo you have. Add Survivalist on top of that and your ammo will last even longer.

Always depends on the ranged weapon you are going to use of course.

I am new to Vet and only ran Hellbore, and have Survivalist and that node that adds 25% ammo... I run missions focusing on shooting down anything that is not chaf and still have a lot to spare without picking any up, its really fun

It improves the damage you deal vs any armour class besides unarmoured, infested or iirc maniac

The worse your performance vs armour is, the better it is; but 10% isn't enough to make a weapon that's bad vs armour become good usually

Mechanically, it adds a proportion of your unarmoured damage to your damage equal to your rending up to it equalling your unarmoured damage; after that, it continues to add damage but only at a 25% proportion

So, unarmoured damage is let's say 1000, Carapace damage is usually 500 let's say. With 10% rending, it becomes 600 damage.

With 50% rending, it would be 1000

With 100% rending, it would be, uh, 1125?
