I tried it with boltgun but you get so few shots it kinda feels bad
you get to use 1 mag basically then exe is over since the reload is way too long
I tried it with others, ttk was an issue
Actually got two of the completed with vigilant autogun
Exe Stance is just a DPS upgrade unless you take Enhanced Target Priority to give the team sight of elites/specials too. It's really only for helping breakpoints or squeezing out extra damage to ammo efficiency for fun LOL
Boltgun mentioned, wtf is a accurate space marine powerscaling
not a bad choice since vigilant at least kills stuff
I WILL FINISH WHAT CAPTAIN TITUS STARTED!
alternatively just like
the most efficient pathing down if you want to save as many points as possible while getting Surv Aura/Shredder Grenades
for the most part we're talkin about exe for penance
since you have to wiggle a bit and deviate
I am firmly in I love VoC territory
Anything sturdy enough to need it I can ping with yellow I’m blanking on name, or I can stealth for that 30% damage bonus
I like making everyone not die and myself not die
the flood of new players has pushed me into running VoC a bit more while in babysitter mode
It’s meant for gunners and specials, but my ttk on them is already fast
I can't tell you how many times I get teams of 3 Psykers who will fold the instant they don't have someone to hide behind LMFAO
I don't like the other two enough to use anything else anyway.
VoC to help save them + buy them breathing room
Oof. They probably heard how strong it is, but didn’t realize it has a high skill floor
Let them die we need more corpse starch
Yeah fair I just enjoy the yellow outlines telling me exactly what, how many and where are everywhere at all times. I also love running it with Enhanced Target Priority on Vent Purge/Lights Out because even if other Vets are 100% right that the team seeing highlights reduces your uptime that sight also gives team knowledge that lets players tackle encounters better
You can ping one target
the team will see that one
I wonder if they will start making class balance changes built around Havoc, or if Havoc is a special case where they're fine with some things just not being able to be run
they may not see that there are 10 more of that enemy type behind it until they're REAL CLOSE
That’s fair. I’m pretty good about pinging in succession for the extra toughness and to maintain the damage aura
I think it's just naturally the most attractive class to play. Guy with Sword, Guy with Gun, Big Guy, MAGIC
MAGIC is the most fancy and fun looking thing
everything else is some flavour of mundane
even if Vet is #1 for me
Tbf guy with sword has faith magic
yeah but someone new to 40k/new to Darktide may not see that right away
Fair
vs Psyker getting funny staffs that shoot lightning and flames and void bolts and blasts
Thankfully I haven’t had too many psykers pop their own heads in pugs
But I also try to avoid malice and below once I hit 12 on a class
I've had quite a few pop their heads in Auric Damnation QP pugs lately but usually it's right as combat is quieting down weirdly enough
like they're edging peril and try to snipe one last kill then pop
Seriously? You’d think they’d have better peril management by then
Yeah
Kinda weird but then people are speedrunning to the highest difficulties
Probably to push to be ready for Havoc ASAP
the new armour is going to make a lot of old and new players drool over it and the 4500 penance point gear probably looks harder to get for a new player too
man
Tbf that patch day, nearly every party I had was damn near suicidal. So I took a break and learned zealot so I could learn how to carry better
can you imagine being totally new 0 plasteel 0 diamantine 0 dockets 0 masteries to Darktide
Day after it too
I've seen some funny weapons in pre-lobby screens and have to remind myself that just because masteries mean you CAN change anything however you want doesn't mean a player always has the options available if they got a Melk weapon or Emperor's Gift
plus new players figuring things out
I enjoy a few offmeta picks. Long as they are good with them I’m happy to see it
Yeah really anything goes as long as it's both fun and functional and there are so few things that just genuinely do not work in Auric Damnation QP that it's generally fine
Stuff doesn't get sweaty as far as ability/weapon picks until higher Havoc ranks
You can run Shredder Autopistol in Auric Damnation and if it works for you no one cares LOL
and if you die they'll just continue on without you
QP pugs will just do whatever
now if only fatshark would buff helbore. Imo a fully charge shot should hit like a plasma gun
The swap speed is what's tripping people up on it so much imo
I think with a properly built Helbore it would feel fine in most player hands if not for the awkward switch toggle every single time you pull it out
To a point, but it’s melee has really good stagger as long as you don’t use the overhead one
Sadly my ttk is a lot quicker on most weapons
Yeah that hardest parts of adjusting are
-Awkward sights
-Awkward swap speed
-Learning click and hold to shoot
-Learning you can just bayonet your way through most small scale fights without needing to swap melee (and bosses too if you're good/confident)
bayoneting a boss to death feels so good
it's kinda just a mid tier weapon with a lot of awkward bumps in the road to get past while learning it
Helps that it does really good damage. Unironically the bayonet is better than the gun imo
but also yeah TTK on a lot of other weapons for most targets is just way, way better vs Helbore
There really isn’t any reason it doesn’t one shot on a full charge headshot
Funny boss death I have seen.
(1) Gloriana Intervoid.
(2) Opening stretch.
(3) Demonhost on platform path.
(4) Zealot activates Demonhost, then chastises(?) It into the abyss.
When I can do that with a mk 12 kantreal with no charge time
And you literally start with access to kantreal
Helbore just feels good for how ammo efficient it is with Shock Trooper and Surgical. Even better if you do some goofy Exe Stance shenanigans and either FT/RF or if you're extra silly go into MF (with optional Camo) with the right perks/blessings for breakpoints and suddenly it starts killing things surprisingly quick
I thought that got patched out? You can still push demonhosts off?
Extra funny just sniping down a Crusher squad with the fastest firing low damage Helbore variant during Exe Stance
you can get it down to 2 shots per Crusher
and with Weight of Fire at max stacks it feels like it's firing as fast as a Kantrael Infantry Lasgun
Game coding makes it really hard to have a "flying" enemy so in all honesty the DH is as grounded as any other boss
they just have a tp move, thankfully they need to be grounded for it to work
I wish I liked marksman’s focus more than I do
At least I think that is what happened. Not sure if the Zealot was extra kill, since TBH I was out of line of sight (I saw the thing there, was occupied, DH spawned, I hear a Zealot ability and suddenly DH health bar disappeared)
I had such a fun match on the new map just after patch with another Helbore user. The other two on our team died in the first section. The two of us just went full on Helbore and cleared the way until the revive checkpoint to get them back up
FELT SO GOOD
Shared braincell Helbore user moment
the hardest hurgle to get past is staring at how short the duration of movement immunity is imo
If he was running chastise, kinda would kinda have to, chastise doesn’t have the one shot potential of stealth
it seems short but if you're clicking heads semi-consistently it builds FAST and you can move with it without dropping stacks
plus you sorta have to learn to not care about losing stacks when you NEED to move
Honestly I’ve found it’s counterintuitively best on mobile full auto rifles, and to not overthink maintaining the stacks
I just never have an instance where I can say I’d prefer it over the other two keystones
yeah it's definitely way easier to build/maintain when you can just spray head height plus Chink in their Armour + Rending Strikes feels really good on the Recon Mk VIc and it's infinitely easier to get 10+ stacks and keep it up during firefights even just hip firing into targets
Crab vets are funny tho. But after working on zealot I just can’t stay still that long
sometimes the AI director just will not let you sit still especially on Auric Damnation HiSTG, Maels or Havoc
if you've built your gun around MF stacks you're probably suffering immensely LOL
it's ease of access and helps on a lot of breakpoints for a lot of guns
Focus Target + Redirect Fire helps push a lot of weapons over the edge for the tiny bit of damage they need
and way more consistent/easier to maintain during fights
Mhm helps that the stamina and toughness regenerate is really good
I don't know if the other classes are really benefitting much from FT/RF outside of burning down bosses faster though
Where’s for marksman’s focus, sure I have spicy headshots, but I lose so much
I don't think any sane Zealot, Psyker or Ogryn is building breakpoints for "if a Vet in my squad has FT/RF"
And the weird regen toughness faster but I can never quite tell how effective it is
Target Down is very effective for squad toughness and stam gain but I don't know that other classes notice it as much as a Field Improv Vet
Funny of you to assume there's anyone sane there
telling a fire nade Zealot or frag Ogryn that Field Improv is active and to go nuts with ammo crate grenades is way more noticeable
I run field improv on every build. I’ve had it save too many ppl for me not to see the value in it
our sanity was gone the second we devoted ourselves to the emperor
It's probably one of THE best team support talents outside of VoC in the entire tree tbh
And that corruption cleanse can be a lifesaver
which bottom path do you take for havoc
it's just that Vet has SO many other things it wants depending on build and the tree is full of really good talents
Grenades for havoc
bottom path
best sleeper vet ability I've found in Havoc is the res/assist talent
Depends on what you are building on and what weapons you are using
Every grenade talent you can take
absolutely insane value from that so far
VOC with grenades
I disagree, the best support you can give is to not play the game. You're just a chill guy 🐶
I've been giving support to a friend who is trying out Darktide again
smokes have their use, shredders are absolutely going to be useful, kraks are pretty garbage the higher you go
Either go for major nodes from all three or weapon specialist. It’s pretty hard to fit focus target into a grenade build
Smokes are good in havoc but shredder spam is the main answer to melee elite ambushes
but wow I have no idea what to do for weapon masteries because I just sorta had pretty much everything maxed when it first released and most weapons were either 100% or were shoved into 100% right away LOL
Tho if you are going straight down focus target is possible, but you suffer a lot in melee
You could run them through havoc
and dumping lots of dockets/plasteel/diamantine into masteries to level up a weapon tree isn't possible for a returning/new player who doesn't have millions of dockets to throw away
I definitely want to do Havoc with him if I can but baby steps because he's had less than a handful of games since returning
plasteel isnt the issue it's dockets
we've been running some Auric Damnation QP
Not for masteries
I'd buy masteries if I didn't want all bought cosmetics
you can get to mastery level 20 with roughly 2500 plasteel and 28 weapons worth of dockets, per weapon
Tfw I only started like 2 months ago so still working on most of my masteries
it's definitely long as fuck tho
oh yeah I would just upgrade a weapon to green and then feed it to Hadron on repeat to max out masteries
it is. just from buying the things
the play
Can always dump bought greys and turn them to greens for sacrifice
but then like I don't know if he can do that for all the weapons he wants
30 or so weapons is not that much dockets
But I like actually playing the weapon to get a feel for it
30 weapons is a cosmetic set
for one weapon mastery it feels pretty cheap
probably faster that way than doing it organically
then you can just power boost one weapon at a time when u feel like mixing it up
Well
and its pretty easy to level weapons when you're just doing other penances so
ye
that's also true, Melk is dece
Most of my fastest masteries were just trying to get a good stat spread on a weapon
I think I was able to do all of the non-Vet/non-Zealot shared ranged/melee (so I guess just the force sword and staves??) on Psyker for like 1-2 mil dockets in bought greys to upgrade to green and feed to Hadron and idk how much plasteel
And sacrificing all the ones that didn’t have what I wanted
plus however much extra dockets/plasteel/diamantine to get a perfect stat roll, max upgrade to 500 orange and get the right blessings/perks
I’m fairly certain it’s more than 28, I dumped just shy of 50 on my plasma and it only got to 18 mastery
starting from 0?
Yeah
I think it also changes exp gained depending on if you sacrificed the same weapon type or not?
Yep
If you sacrifice a different weapon it gives very little
sorry I should have specified, i meant starting from some mid level as most people would have had some mastery transferred over after Locked and Loaded
Sacrificing Plasma for Plasma weaponry is way more efficient vs just dumping random Emperor's Gift weapons into Hadron for Plasma
still worth doing the latter if it's a weapon mastery you don't care to level at the moment or you've already maxed though
Aye. I dumped 50 plasmas on it, I don’t sacrifice unrelated weapons, prefer the dockets
That's fair
Well 48 technically
I was kinda worried about the lack of things to do with dockets/plasteel/diamantine once you've got everything maxed out but like for newer players there's definitely going to be a need for it for a while
Veterans why are all guns inferior to auto pistol for havok?
My neurotic ass has a need to upgrade all the weapons, so that is a long time coming
Tbh I like doing the masteries organically, forced you to learn how to use them
It is preferable. I was just trying to get a good roll on plasma
if I could do it all over again I think it'd be fun to do it the way they intended with using weapons to gain exp for them instead of just going factory mode on Hadron's face
Ah yeah
The best one I’ve gotten so far has the charge time and heat inverted
I cant seem to get a good plasma
Shit was the biggest blue ball
shredder pistol is surprisingly fun even if it's pulling up pretty low on damage for most things
You think a mechanicus considers that flirting?
It is fun, issue is how ammo hungry it is
idk maybe if the gifts were better quality but like if someone dumped a lot of trash in front of me I'd think they were angry at me LMFAO
With braced/infantry autoguns/bpistol/bolter I wasnt picking up nearly as much ammo than for the shredder
“Varlot let us praise the machine god together”
and the low DPS/TTK it has vs a lot of other Vet weapons yeah
I vaguely remember doing a Rending Strikes/Onslaught/Exe Stance build for fun with the Shredder Autopistol just to use it to shoot Crushers in the face in Aurics LOL
I mean what’s his face with the weeklies has asked me out to drinks while we discuss contracts
Might have to uh..... swap to somwthing better and just hadron that one
I do find it funny he gets along so well with pro vet, but can’t stand zealots
like it works but it's working harder to do what other weapons can do with less effort
Probably the infantry las that I was blessed with
it's still so funny to me that the Havoc meta for Vet looks to be shaping out to be Lasguns
(except Helbore)
Tbf onslaught makes pretty much anything full auto good on carapace
Well it makes sense for when ammo is scarce
yeah but it's usually just not worth it for most Vet builds and really just for the novelty of spraying a Crusher face
Ammo effiency and dots
it's a solid but expensive choice to turn a spray and pray gun into a Crusher melter but it works on like... maybe 4 guns top?
Like
If u wanna talk ammo efficiency
Ilas is efficient
But it's not good in havoc
Cause it can't apply infernus well
So recon for havok?
and laspistol
For the infernus procs
Laspis or recon imo
When I’m running my recon I like spraying em in the face a few times for fire price before engaging in melee, surprisingly good at cutting out a hit
Right laspis has better crit?
Laspistol Mk X does some crazy work vs Flak LOL
Laspistol has ghost
Laspis is just really strong across the board
i think ilas is perfectly great for havoc
Which is heckin good
oh also yeah Laspistols have higher innate crit chance iirc?
just not against pus armor
Ghost and infernus
15% base I thiiiink? I could be wrong though
Yeah but like every game at high havoc is pus armor
It feels good until you have to shoot a hardened reaper
Isn't it still good because of its ability to kill crushers and it has ghost
I mainly alternate between a goofy Recon Mk XII build that can just spray into Crusher faces to kill them or my Recon Mk VIc build that sprays everything except for Crushers with a nice can opener melee
Woops
Same
Why did I say crushers
Ilas does not kill crushers
I meant gunners
I also keep getting gloriana
Gunnerssss
Hate gloriana

I don’t get the moebian one. It’s just slightly tankier chaff
smudgel kills crushers w/ an ilas
Try killing a hardened reaper with an ilas
everyone point and laugh
And you'll understand
More hitmass I think
So less easy to shovel
Well you'll kill every regular shooter which is also priority in high havoc
While in ghost
ilas, recon, laspistol imo are the best
Oh I mostly melee with power sword, probably why I didn't notice
ilas & pistol brings ghost, pistol & recon brings infernus, adjust loadout depending on modifiers
You can't just say oh ill kill all the gunners but I'll leave the hardened ones alive :^)
id use the pistol more if its damage fall off wasnt garbage
Vet job is to kill gunners
Whaat you can shoot those too
If they are hardened it is awful
pus hardened gunners are managable, IIb goes from 3 shots to 6-7 which sucks
pus hardened reapers, lol
If non hardened modifier then yeah ilas is strong
I haven’t run plasma in havok yet, how does it handle pus gunners?
Plasma is pretty decent from what I seen other people use
I don't play it though
I don't like plasma
i guess if someone runs plasma, they're going to be chewing through all the ammo
But I've played with other plasma vets at 40
Tbf plasma really is at its best with weapon specialist, so you’d hope they are meleeing
So I’ve just been experimenting with the Zarona stub revolver and found that Executioner stance with a high Crit set up pretty much just ignores Pus Armor in havoc.
Imo there's two main things vet brings to the table on havoc and it's dealing with gunners and grenade spam against melee elite ambushes
and indirectly ammo econ
Smokes are also good for making Shooters far less accurate, allowing the team to move through chokes if there is a large number of gunners
Oh yeah that too
bc survivalist and high ammo efficiency weapons
It helps that most of the lasguns are legitimately fun to use
ive been using the ilas since they buffed it almost a year ago
im not very good at diversifying my loadout lol
You know what I find funny? You know that YouTuber tanner? He rails against ppl using infernus, only for it to become invaluable once havoc drops like 2 weeks later
havoc just has a different meta to it, ammo econ, DoTs, and gold THP
Tanner
DoTs don't mean much in normal auric but things like brittleness and dots mean a lot in havoc where enemies have inflated hp and damage reduction
Tbf before this only recon use infernus
what else has infernus, ilas and laspistol?
That’s true, but recon using infernus was what he was angry about
What do you use on your ilas at 40 btw
All Las guns use Infernus
Ghost and?
i brought headhunter
I think helbore might, but why in the world would you use it on helbore
but i considered changing it
The difference is the number of Stacks they apply
I might try it if I see non pus modifier
i use IIb w/ MF but path prefers VII w/ ghost/falter
He changed his mind on falter a bit
The whole reason I was testing it myself (@25) was bc he was talking about it
But even at 25 pus reapers were

I use fucking LP2 with Inf/Ghost
my bild
hellbor can but do you really wanna?
O4b gang rise up
I ran hellbore with infernus
because hadron would not give me weight of fire
How did it go
Didnt notice it
Not like you can when you 1 or 2 shot everything
3 stacks of MF (1 headshot) will 1-tap all common shooters at 10-15m (stalkers require 6 stacks at 10m)
Nah doesn't burn do weak damage vs Cara?
so you take a few more shots on elites to deal with common gunners with greater efficiency
Yeah but basically everything else is already dead
Reapers is a 2 tap dinks, muties.... bayonet, ragers are bayonet food
Yea 1 shot everything and 2 shot crushers with mk4
i guess you could swap HH for infernus, but I havent tried since I didnt have enough crit baked into the build
I don't think infernus would be good
Nah, cant deal with the mk4 bayo
yeah i didnt bother
when i see pus hardened i either relied on someone else to deal with them (i had psyker BB and a puncture bolter/bistol in my team) or swaped weapons
Every time I play havok Im reminded of some of the nerfed eeapons and how nice they wpuld be here (kantrael, bromentum bayonet)
Honestly it's a fucking pain to use the bayonet, I just use it if I feel like doing something stupid
I have the muscle memory from when it was an unironically good melee weapon
Bromentum Mk4?
I just can’t use mk4 between the charge time and bayonet it hurts
Ay man it's not that bad once you pile up Weight of Fire
(Also fairly certain the bayonet could trigger infernus)
Hot Bayonets in your location
What do you think
About between the eyes
Still hurts from that first shot
Imagine the bayo with riposte
And drop determined
It gotta be like those aggressive counter melee riposte
its not a terrible choice but you gotta get a shot off before they start shooting back at you
which may be inconsistent
depends where you wanted the extra point
True
i could see that working w/ marksman since you're spamming VoC a lot
Dunno I just play like clockwork when it comes to it, I guess I'm more used to MK4 Bor
I cant justify the slow swap for the mk4
The bayonet attack is still unforgivable
mk4 is old mk3, mk5 is old mk2
Ah ok
id rather just accept im going to be 3-4 tapping gunner elites w/ MF stacks and 1-tapping the common gunners and be thoroughly consistent and methodical instead of trying to boost breakpoints further
i havent had enough experience yet to test all BPs in havoc 40
Mk3 might make sense tbh if it could onetap pus gunners
Havoc setting in psykarium when
Anyway to stop charging the hellbore beside weapon swapping?
Bayonet
Reload
You can unscope
you have to hold it to cancel it before the shot fires
That all feels so clunky.
Yea
It is clunky
True, but you're using the clunkiest gun in the game
I'd like the weapon but the fact you can't easily uncharge makes it feel like hell to use
Well no I'm not using it because of that lmao
Eh, never use more than 2 mags of ammo the mission typically
With survivalist+free ammo from crits
Recon Lasgun still solid?
Recon is still very solid
wot it is truth, Helbor is a damn mule when you want it to do something unless exe stance
and I hate exe stance

I feel not running VoC is rough on higher difficulty
To make those ragers bother someone else
If I got recon, what melee should I use?
Lets me play so aggressively
Shovel
I haven't used VoC since the Weapon Overhaul patch
Really? I do love my shovel but it feels like it can't clear hordes for hell most of the time
Brave. It saves me and my team so often
The mk7 can do hordes pretty well
I love MK7, but the damage feels horrid
I find that smokes do alot more than be vape gas
Mk1 is made for hordes
I onetap crushers with mine
Against hordes not elites
Ah uncanny strikes makes it doable
The way I see it is, if you have to dedicate your entire built to making a gun usable, it’s in a very bad state
And the sweeping heavies
And helbore requires that
wth is uncanny strikes
That is true, I tested folding shovels with uncanny and it does some serious end results
A blessing that lets you ignore armor on repeated weakspot hits
20% rending when hitting weakpoint
Opinion on bolter?
Which sucks because it’s cool in concept
Bolter is fine
Nice, just eats ammo if you magdump
Good on most things, very ammo hungry for havoc
I really gotta mod my shovel but my shovel is just 380. I don't know if I should waste it on that
Yeaaah that's why I swapped to recon. Bolter I felt I had to conserve super had, recon is such a good allrounder
Ngl I've been hooked on mk1 claw
Funny enough my helbore is pretty much a standard vet build, only node really out of the way is the lasgun crits (but you were going to take elite damage anyways)
Lasgun crit ain't meta anymore?
I thought it is since recon was always so good
I mean non lasgun builds dont tame it
Ahhh yeah fair. Plasma seems to have taken over from what I saw
lmao if you took it while using autogun
Helbore and recon play completely differently
True true. Helbore felt like a weird bolter
I like helbore, but it feels worse than bolter in everything
I think of it as a plasmagun but you can only charge fire
but handling is as bad as boltgun or worse
Well it’s a lot more ammo efficient than bolter
That is true. It does have so much ammo
But I waste 50% of my ammo on charges loads so lmao
Probs the only few lasguns that can defeat Carapace in few shots
Recon does melt it quite well
Are you running exe stance?
emphasis on "few"
Voc
I think VoC has animation cancel for swapping?
Laser goes brt brt brt brt
And shout
Really? How are you hitting helbores breakpoints for gunners and other elites?
by using mk4
Just stacking headshot damage?
Eww
Mk1 just does on weakspot hits
Wood grips and stockis superior
Now mind you this isnt pushardened
Also run falter, so if it doesnt die its still on its ass
Speaking of different versions, which recon version is best? Anyone know?
Also has superior Irons, personally would even say better than helbor skin
Hmm hadn’t considered falter. By the time a charge shot has gone off I want my target to have already died
Fairly certain the only thing my hellbore doesnt onetap (aside from the obvious) are dreg ragers
That's odd, usually it one taps if headshot
Maulers are a 3 shot, crushers take a minute
? Odd puts it lightly
Oneshots scab ragers
You sure you aren’t mixing up the two?
Maybe cuz Im running elites flak
Ahh maybe
And not flakamaniac
Either way dreg ragers are bayonet stunlock fuel
Also dont take longshot
With longshot it should kill dreg ragers
One thing I find funny is how MK4 helbor is how it sorta matters what build you use because if you spec to carapace, you can focus had for 2 shot, or 2 shot body crit
I think flakamaniac mk1 with infernus might oneshot dreg and scab ragers
But havent tested
Ey you lot, when is my vet ready for what havoc, anyone able to tell?
Malice is moreso just being comfortable with the base mechanics of the game
I tried using the ingame system and people keep leaving and shouting random numbers.
I've completed two 20s but I have no idea what the difference is between those ranks
Are you talking about havok?
your malice is heresy and will lead to your damnation
Are you good enough to not die frequently
Yeah, I do fine.
Most of the time we lost was just cause someone left instantly
And it's kinda hard as 3
Does early portrait count?
Just put them on
I don't no-life the game
Reject
So without those i'm outta luck? Lmao
I get kicked because I am under level 100 sometimes
kool with a k
No but some peoplenlook for accomplishments at higher level
Well thanks for the answers
Ove mostly seen level based ones
Other option is join groups in this discord
Oh get 500s
I am of 50/50 opinion on some of the flex titles.
If only because I know the AI is a murderous fuck, and absolutely can and will strive to make an Auric Storm Suevivor die looking like an idiot.
100000% do that first
I am using Havoc forged worried
Fearful
I'm gonna die stupidly
As of my ranged masteries done (hellbore, bolt things, autogun, bauto) the bauto is my least favorite
Now, ambiguous or generic flexes like "Budding Interrogator" ...sign me up
Same for the gold portrait frame for not leaving anyone behind or something.
What about the stim junky frame
ngl I think people using that title already look kinda silly
because 90% of the people with it save scummed to ge tit
maybe they're that 1 in 10 but, I aint gon hold my breath
Fair enough an opinion
Ring master that's a title with some chest hair
it wouldnt be so bad if they fixed the save scumming then just removed the title from everyone
yeah some people would be mad but
anyone that got it before will get it again without much difficulty
I do wish there was more flexibility with wargear.
I see everyone using plasma guns, and that's fine, but I'd also like my preferred gear to be a bit more effective
Budding Interrogator is just nicely generic, and you don't have to answer for shit if you go down.
Ironically, same for the medal you get for a single game of Auric without anyone being downed.
You can actually earn that in full honesty, and dying isn't embrmarassing in the sense that it only shows you don't die in ONE mission
I still yearn for a Long-Las...
Plasma Pistol when lol
Power fist I'm pretty sure we can do this all day
Enemy captains have Plasma Pistol.
I want to just say “Fuck mobility I am gun”
And even then Gunners can walk with hellguns nowadays
Also gotta love those guys who have no Havoc clearance who join Havoc squads and waste everyone’s time
Lol
I doubt we'll ever see the Power Fist in the game, which is sad
Why?
That’s essentially a Space Marine only weapon unfortunately
I can see them leaving it out just cause it doesn't work lore wise to constantly switch between a powerfist and any two-handed gun
Fair enough
Here's the weapon I actually think we're getting.
Since canonically everyone is right handed
Which one's that? I don't recognize it
These are the new tempestus aquilion models
Honestly, as for weapons to be added to the game, would be nice to see maybe a heavy bolter for the Ogryns (even if it’s totally not lore accurate but meh not the first time.)
Hellgun without cables is, indeed, quite likely if we ever get hellguns
Since designers then don't need to think about the power backpack for rejects
My crackhead theory is we were going to get a hellgun with a backpack and then GW released these models so Fatshark is reworking the gun to the mag version hence the delay
Honestly less crackhead theory and pretty sound.
My only counter to that is that they already have the hellgun with pack in the cultist models
A more realistic theory is that Fatshark asked GW if Hellguns can work without backpacks.
Then GW designers went "hang on, wait and let us make it Canon first"
I'd be more likely to believe this
Combi weapons when
I mean maybe we'll finally get a full tempestus scion set
Instead of it sitting there unfinished
Even if we don't get new weapons though, all I ask for is a lasgun buff
Honestly I would like to see a combi weapon system that allows you to basically merge guns together to make a Compatible combi gun, so like a bolter and Plasma gun
Granted to come with its own downsides but be interesting to watch zealots run with a bolter Flamer combi
Recall that in Necromunda even las weapons can be Combi weapons
Yea just going with the bolter since that’s something familiar with just about everyone
TBH the bolter scale right now looks a bit too big for combi to look like our rejects can carry one
Scale wise Las combi should be alright.
I'll be honest, I don't like the boltguns in Darktide...
Oh?
Every now and then it feels like they just...don't work. Against the same enemies, I mean
They don't feel as consistent as other guns
how do i get a havoc-ready recon?
Like, there'll be a group of enemies, all the same type, and it'll be like... "One shot - one shot - one shot - three shots - wait, what?"
Head hunter, Infernus, go for Crit chance and flak armor damage.
My best set up was using Executioner stance and marksman keystones, but honestly the keystone is optional
And I'm talking about non-elite enemies, by the way
I just use it for Fully Loaded and Shock Trooper, that way you can keep ammo topped up for your crits
dump stat mobility or stability? mark?
Dump stat is always Mobility, I tend to use the Mk XII
I dunno if anyone else has experienced that on boltguns, but that's my experience
It's not often, but it feels...weird
How do you tend to set up your Boltgun?
I can't recall the blessing names... But I do always take the point-blank aoe one
Take Puncture and Shattering Impact. Or replace Puncture with Surgical
And then I usually swap between the penetration bleed or Surgical
Yea, those
We did technically
The final scion helmet got released
What does Shattering Impact do again?
That blue iss scion isn't it?
There's the green scion helmet
There's an unfinished chest piece that's been in the files for a yeat
Oh yeah
Target takes stacks of 2.5 brittleness. Which reduces armor effectiveness from EVERYONES attacks
I thought we technically got that, but it's the green camo version
The one that was datamined was like olive
I'll give that a shot
That’s what I use for my specialist set up but it does melt into Hordes
Of course the Zarona is still stupid as hell.
can this be converted to a +3 stam Curio with the new update or do i need to find one with +3 in the shop
A Boltgun can’t one shot an Armored Ogryn, but with execution stance and a revolver with max Crit damage and such, you can one shot anything that isn’t a boss as long as it’s a headshot.
You gotta buy a new curio
We all do.
I wish you could change the type of curio. Not the stats but the aesthetic. I NEED a full set of guardian of the hateful on all characters
Havent played with vet for a long time, did they change the recon lasgun?
Is it any good anymore? I just used one on a low level havoc run (14 i think?)
It seems to be barely doing any damage
For a year and a half yeah
Less than that it was bad from patch... 14?
I mean, i used that one.
But i used it before during the machine god release, it was fine.
Now it feels like im putting headshots in both gunners and shotgunners and it just does nothing...
Nope. Recon died in December 22
To June of next year that's around 6 months lol
Give it to vet please
P14 was big balance sweep and recon got shafted again
It was nerfed?
When was this?
Wait what they do to the recon this time?
I still use the recon on Havoc, it does its job
Infernus was nerfedm. It stacked infinitely
I thought it was always capped
Wait? Are you guys talking about the hot fix today?
Not for a few weeks around release
Also it's definitely capped currently, it's very consistent in the testing room
P14 was end of 2023. Recon did not improve.
Oh
The big changes were a few months ago
Yeah that was before I played
Yeah, recon has still been going well for me even with the cap
IDK about today but i got and used a recon around the time they released the forge map
It was fine, now i went into Havoc and gunners and shotgunners seem to be going down insanely slow even if i hit their heads.
Is that with the modifier for tougher enemies?
Recon is in good place now. Auto pistol is the disgraced king now
They werent green
Interesting
There's hidden modifiers
Well, guess im going back to the Hellbore then
Maybe try infernus dumdum on the fast firing one (former 6d)
XII
6c has my vote as the best
Thanks. And fuck you obesefish for changing the names.
although I believe ppl have been going for the slightly slower one in havoc since it cleaves
Everything in havok is tankier
Yeah, I've been using the one with cleave
Except players
Regardless, onslaught seems like a must have
Yeah fair
Depends on the build imo
Onslaught is costly
No, onslaught is a bait talent tbh
lol lmao even
Yes
Have you tested it?
Lmao indead
My dude we have had this discussion like 12 times for the past 4 months
Baitleness
🪤
My recon build doesn't use onslaught and I'm still holding up in havoc
Onslaught is good if your build is focused on dealing with crushers and bosses
Yeah, exactly
Other than that, other builds for recon are better for most other enemies in the game, even maulers
My build is focused for crowd control and dealing with anything less than bulwarks, crushers, and bosses
Does onslaught affect the bleed from the puncture blessing?
Maybe someday infantry lasguns will get a buff
Yes it effects everything
That's why it's good with bosses
Wait bleed affects onslaught? Holy
No
Onslaught doesn’t really make a big difference for bosses last time I checked
Onslaught affects bleed
But the problem is that the point cost to get to onslaught is hard to justify when it is really only for 5% of all enemies in the game
Dots don't proce onslaught
Mag dump crushers, oooor... Poke'em in the head with the pointy end of your melee weapon once or twice
Yes it does
I wish we could test havoc bps in the psyk
It has an interesting interaction with Infernus
Wasn't it fixed?
The other problem with onslaught is that it can only proc on one target at a time
What they fixed was the dots of multiple targets or setting the stacks
@tall torrent
Still worth it on an autogun for that usecase alone in my opinion
I've heard people complaining about the Powersword, how is it right now?
Waste of ammo and you’re fucking your build with tax nodes. Not worth it imo.
Yeah tbh, even with onslaught u shouldn't be magdumping crushers
You should never mag dump anything... Except bosses
Or if you have a group of gunners all really packed together
Ok that's the setting the stacks part that is confusing mw
U are not going to kill a pack of crushers with one clip
A group of crushers is just two shredder grenades and lotsa melee
Save the ammo
This is also true
taste the blood 😋
If onslaught proceed on multiple targets, then yeah it would be one of the best talents in the entire tree
It doesnt?
A crusher is also 4 bolter rounds with shat puncture
No, it never did
If you cleave thru multiple targets, only one of them will receive the stacks.
Nobody else
I almost never shoot at Crushers or Maulers. They're always melee and grenades. Just a waste of ammo otherwise
I see
Damn, that's rough
In fact, if you switch targets too often then none of them will receive the stacks
Is there a site to check the effective stat differences between stats at 60 and at 80?
Because it keeps reseting
Good to know thats like 3 points I can save
Looks like I'll be sticking to my Deadshot crowd control build then
AAAAAAAAAAAA
infernus has an interesting interaction tho
let me see if I can test it in the psykanium to show yall
If infernus does what I think youre saying it does you best keep it to yourself. We had a similar funny interaction on ogryn. Had.

Infernus has friendly fire...?
Idk how but I just got the Deadeye penance done and I had the shout skill
Depends on the situation. Your team. Your stock of nades.
Well I ain’t shootin if I can take them down faster with two heavy melee attacks
What if Im not using a dueling sword
ok looks like they fixed onslaught it does work on multiple targets now
but u were right, the dots no longer stack it anymore
as you can see they both have brittle:
a bit hard to see
In other words, not a bad node but the funny kantrael shotty method no longer wirks
whats interesting about infernus is that it continues the burn with the brittle proc
so you get max value from brittle even if you stop firing on the target
no
Considering taking the Shock Maul. What should I know about it? What is the difference between the marks?
yeah I already corrected myself
It sucks but go ahead
The one that looks like a medieval mace is the better one
They both look like a mediaval mace
It gets skullcrusher so not reason not to take that
Use Knoife
it's only real weakness is bosses and it is mediocre into multiple ragers
Idk why but the range feels off for me
Boy I sure do love getting amazing rolls first try
But being able to straight up negate bullwalks is extremely useful at times
They both look like Mediaval Maces, so which one do you mean?
the flanged one
The spiked one?
🤦♂️
Im just happy they fixed their hitboxes
Hitting one from the side and getting blocked sucked
Yep exactly.
When is flanged ever used? How are you expecting a random guy on the internet to know what flanged means?

go on internet explorer and search flanged mace
Maces bro
What if want/need horde clear? (Don't answer Rashad
)
rashad
Chainsword
Achlys

Just special attack it like 50 times
Man of culture here
Used the achlys, never clicked... rashad clicked
In seriousness, are the chainswords dead now?
Used to see tons of chainsword peepz in quickplay, now I dont see any
Mk1 (spikey) more strikedown attacks diagonal heavies for horde clear
Mk3 (flanged) more horizontal stuff better horde clear slightly worse single target (though has a looping overhead heavy for all your police brutality needs)
Achlys is just a funny Axe. It's Rashad but "oops all vertical" and it has a funny heavy strike
trash wave clearing is not the problem in higher difficulties
it's mixed waves
having to wait 2 seconds for an animation to finish and being unable to block or dodge in the entire duration just to hit one mauler is not going to cut it
Grenade!
best vet melee for mixed wave clear?
Grenade solve many problem
Rashad and PS
rashad is dogwater for mixed waves, im always hitting ragers or maulers
PS it is
any tips for playing havoc as vet? Been playing ogryn for a while
actually wait the DS is a bit wrong
agile is better for havoc for survival
ok i fixed it
Ooo thank you 🤘🤘
there is another build where u stack stamina and stamina regen to then use deadshot and have unlimited ammo
but this one is not that
Oh wow!
in high havocs tho, the most important thing is being as ammo efficient as possible
u want to give ammo to the rest of your team because zealots can take flamer
or bolt guns
Ahh okay!
at havoc 40, the ammo drops are only 25%
Survivalist however doesn't count
so you give 1% ammo to the entire team
Yeah, can confirm, stacking stamina and Deadshot is fun. And also with the Target Down on keystone you can refill stamina while shooting
Holy toledo! I'm only around 25 right now 😱 survilast sounds pretty killer for havoc
frags are also very valuable in havoc to stun the nasty ragers and crushers
i honestly wish I could use more points for grenade talents but there are too little points
smokes are also very strong, unfortunately it costs too many points to use
Yeah because you need survivalist + voc
That's the fun in Darktide, no? Always gotta play that ruthless game of calculus
u can maybe make something like this work, but not having those crit nodes really hurts your ammo econ
u loose damage here but u get the crits
Getting this 90% accuracy penance is gonna be the death of me
Literally never used a Plasma Gun before, what blessings do you shooty boys go for?
Gets hot, glory hunterr
Double barrel shotgun on the train mission, ezpz
Gets hot and rising heat are a good combo too
Just spam left clicks don't charge it
Hmm good to know
Flak and elite are good perks
Is there ever a case to charge or always spam?
No
Gets Hot Rising Heat
Spam M1 ad infinitum
Which gender of Loose Cannon does mProfessional kiss the most do you guys reckon
Charge Rate dump then I'd guess?
Short answer is yes
Ideally you want 69 thermal and 71 charge
Hm
I shall give it a go
Once I get me a good double barrel
Huh good to know
So get as close to 69 thermal as you can without dipping under, rest into charge rate. But if you do 80 TR and 60 CR you'll be fine still
Is this a decent enough build to start grasping Vet with a plasma gun?
Drop longshot, it's not very good. But yeah that'll do fine
If you drop longshot and the 8 stacks keystone buff node you can afford to get reciprocity on the lower right, which is amazing
Ahh yeah that's a good shout
Words can't express how much of a fish out of water I feel with Vet
2 years of playtime
Mine is level 24
Heh. It's how I felt about zealot for a while, my first 200 hours were straight into vet
Imo you can drop like
Grenadier too
You already got the skill that gives you a grenade every minute
Disagree, taking both is 🤌
Imo unless you're doing bistol it ain't for me
Shredders completely destroy whole rooms, I want as many as possible
You could find a few points when you move the 2 points from the two extra nodes from focus target, 1 point from grenadier
And take tinkerer
if you're taking grenadier you may as well also upgrade your grenades
I didn't take grenadier did I?
That confused me XD
Throw 2 into a stack of maulers and earn one back so you can double throw another pile of elites
If it was me I might drop field improv and just have a naked keystone with no buffs, and then I can afford to get desperado
Sigh, u screenshotted this from the Squad Leader build didn't u?
😔
No XD
I was just following general advice then came here for refining XD
this is what I would do for plasma if you also want FT:
the last 4 points are up to you
Tinkerer doesn't boost shredder dmg
Isn't the explosion damage worth it or no?
Imo if you're taking alot of like grenade talents you should take it
the majority of the shred grenades damage is the bleed
Aoe of bleed increases
But if it's that bad urgh
Oh that's worth it
But I don't think that's worth 2 points
It’s worth for the radius on a grenade meme build
In the context of havoc i think it's a waste of points
Whatever you're throwing it at is generally right in your face
in all honesty this is prob better
Yes
Oh this is a build for a friend, who hasn't played since launch month, wanting to get back into it with their Vet
Grenadier is better if you can afford it
and this:
For nade build
And I am pretty bad at helping cause I don't know Vet XD
So definitely not Havoc XD
unfor this is kinda being a gambling addict
This is more questionable but it says a lot that I have genuinely considered it starting from around havoc 35+
Ye
this is what I would do for max grenade damage:
this also goes well with recon
well other than no reci 😔
i would rather take an autogun here tbh
Idk I've heard some people use it but I haven't actually played w/ anyone using it on 35+
Anyone have any suggestions for videos of someone playing veteran at a high level? I just hit 30 and want some visuals of how a higher end veterans play style may look. I do fine on damnation but am not highly confident in it.
what level if any should i feel comfortable as a veteran infilling into heresy with randoms
Whenever you are clearing Malice without taking much damage or being downed, probably.
Just heresey level 4?
Probably just 20
And yeess
If you're comfortable
But also the only way to get comfortable with high difficulties is to play em
Yeah I've seen people in there in the teens but they weren't doing well. 😄
i dont have full matches but i can offer these
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KOcgQzt0JA&feature=youtu.be
Others moved on to Space Marine 2, but I'm still clutchin'
If you're really comfortable frankly you could play a diff 4 as soon as you're eligible to do so but if you're more new being higher doesn't hurt
Much obliged.
What is the best ranged gun against Carapace?
I'm just trying to get a better idea of if my play style is working for the team well, as well as any specific movement or positioning, flow, etc. behaviors Im not noticing I may want to change
This aint a bad roll right? Prolly promisin later?
You want max power and ammo
zamn
crazy me too. i probably have a 1/3 chance of extracting from those the past few days im lvl 25 usually my team has been close to the same level but seems like the same thing keeps happening things go smooth for a few minutes then next second one person is left alive, but with 5% health and a pox hound chewing on them
me 😎
around the mid 20s is when things spike from heresy to damnation, so it is around the same difficulty as an auric mael
You should play around to see potentially where you couuuld find improvement
Like ahh
Watching someone is valid
you know dump stat for columnus? just got an 80 everything 60 mobility one (3 dodges)
this becomes a wake up call for a lot of people who cant consistently carry in auric maels
tbh a good psyker makes havoc runs 1000 times easier
but then again
that is the same in aurics 💀
Got a link?
oh i was shitposting
honestly psyker has been the hero lately in any match im thinking since update right?
nah it always has been
psyker in a team oriented game is just giga broken
zealots have that solo clutch potentional, but having a psyker stun and infinite cleave everything just makes everyone's lives easier
Guess youre right maybe im just seeing a lot more people using them proper
Not like the playing will stop :p but good to see things outside of my own behavior.
yea 4 sure zealots are dominant reliable killers but when i run my zealot first one i want on my team is a psyker with shield and elctric
That's truuue
i don't have any suggestions however lmao
Secrets of the Machine God Update for Warhammer 40k Darktide introduces new weapons and a new map. Let's show the power of this Double Barreled Shotgun beast with a Weapon Specialist Veteran build.
Warhammer 40k Darktide Double Barrel Super Shotgun from DOOM
0:00 Intro and Build
3:16 Super Shotgun highlights
8:26 Full Clandestium Gloriana New ...
I don't think MaC is bad
Tanner is a vet main, so if you just mute his gameplay videos you can get some value from them
Why does this Penance have a progress bar?
I probably shouldnt even be thinking about this penance but since i saw it cant stop wondering how hard it will be.. On overwatch? (malice, take no melee) ik lots of u probably did it by now. just looking for opinions
just a guess did u beat it on sedition ?
So you can get it if you take melee damage, just not to your Health. If you get melee hit at 100% Toughness none bleeds through. Also if you have golden Toughness from Voice of Command or elsewhere there's no bleed.
Could someone give me a good build for a stealth veteran
Yep. Odd for it to even track that though! I'd expect it to be 0/1.
this is a meme build tbh https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9d67f64e-5960-41d8-bb1f-6e991d65ea76/main-character-syndrome-vet?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_button
Is it any good?
thats wild i didnt watch the whole video but the 5 minutes i did watch dude didnt take a single melee i just dont have that level of chill in me
what gun/melee
im going to guess auric
not havocs
Just gotta practice your positioning and like horde control stuf
If you know what you are doing then yes
Dunno thinking either helbore lasgun, Bolton pistol or the revolver
helbore doesnt really fit stealth playstyle
i can give you one for boltpistol/revolver though yeah
its pretty similar to what orcka posted
ill just give m y take though
Yhyh sure
If u use a revolver I would take Rashad over knife
U also don't need those stamina nodes I posted
Yhyh
if you are using knife i would adjust it slightly more but
for any melee that doesnt rely on push attacking (costs stamina) this works
Yhyh thanks it looks pretty good to me so I'll give em bothw a rry
You know it's juicy when the honey and juices pool up
Thankfully I haven’t had to get that old for my cooking
Made some nice mashed potatoes to go with it
I just learned of a build idea. Use Conditioning to spam Deadshot
invigorated should be enough
What's Invigorated
restore 20% of stamina on swap
But you need a kill to proc Invigorated
i would hope you are killing
I'm a little off of Shock Maul mastery 7 to switch marks
Good thing I got a random Shredder Autopistol drop
ofc trash would give trash EXP
You get crap XP for sacrificing guns outside the family. If you sacrifice the same type of gun as what you're building mastery for you get like 5x+
Is a guy not allowed to make jokes in peace?
Like a green of the same family is 9300xp or somesuch
In the grimdark future there are no jokes
