You could also try running Gunner Resist on your curios. With Iron Will, a Toughness curio or two and Determined you can just sorta tank Gunners at a distance and keep shooting them down. Ghost (for Laspistol, Infantry Lasguns and Headhunter Autoguns) is also really good for just standing out in the open Stormtrooper style and ignoring shots like you've got the plot armour of a named character
