I very much enjoy the game regardless of whether I’m frustrated or not, or else I wouldn’t be playing it
The gameplay loop of Darktide always brings me back

Something about just weaving through horde of enemies and then to quickly pull out your range weapon to pop a incoming special and then back to melee combat
For me it’s going on hard difficulties that spawn a lot of enemies then it’s getting builds that can solo hordes
Right like I love the getting better in every facet

If it gets to difficult just bum it down a notch until it’s good

So i had an idea might be uttery busted but its a indea regardless so in borderlands 3 theirs a character you can play named zane and each character has 4 perk tree and an ability that goes w the tree and they get a grenade slot except zane he has the ability to forgo his grenade slot in place of having two different activation abilities maybe could implement for vet or other classes
psyker's blitzes are close to "activation ult" for the matter

You can already get really funny grenade spam moments with Ogryn if you play Vet and grab Field Improvisation to let ammo crates refill grenades
Then get an Ogryn friend with frag grenade and let him spam it 5 times in a row
9 times in a row if you have both ammo crates and are willing to feed all the rations to the Ogryn
but that's more for like coordinating with friends for goofy moments
quickplay pugs will get mad if someone takes extra charges of an ammo crate
need to nerf zealot movement speed before vet movement speed aura goes up (but I am in favour of it)
Vet movespeed aura need to speed up dogs and muties by 20%
zealot mvmt speed is 90% the momentum keystone

eh I mean, zealots are probably losing movement speed overall by operating within aura distance given they could just zoom off themself, I guess it depends on vet comp too. I don't really mind optimising for movement speed anyway given currently there's already so much that anyone who is gonna use it to run off to the end and abandon teams is already doing that
currently the amount of move speed that can be generated is pretty insane anyway
I do think the knife and some other weapons should have their mobility toned down a bit as team abandoners suckkk

also swift helps with that: Gain up to 15 stacks of Momentum by moving; sprinting generates stacks twice as fast.
after much experimentation, I have found a way to make all of the shotguns really fuckign good actually
they drink ammo like a fish but they actually kind of do so much its nuts
the key, I think, its to ignore the keystones cuz none of them particularly do well for shotguns. Marksmans focus (ironically) got the most mileage just cuz of how easy it is to sweep a poxxer horde with the lawbringer and get tons of headshot kills, with the spread of the shotgun making it very easy to keep very high uptime on weakspot hits. But ultimately that was alot of work and setup for a mediocre damage bonus since shotgun crits aren't incredible except on the agri which is basically just a slower headhunter.
What I landed on was instead spreading wide and picking up all 3 of the +damage for 10s abilities while using commanding shout and tac awareness to hyperspam and get really high uptime on that bonus, and picking up a significant amount of the utility talents besides like krak regen and competitive urge.
Of the 4 shotguns my favorite is the lawbringer, but all of them are good for different things.
The Lawbringer is a very consistent hordeclearing option even in open areas thanks to the uber-wide spread special shell that also comes with enough stagger force to knock ragers on their ass and stun or knock down carapace enemies. Its incredible crowd control with decent enough damage and range to kill stuff, its wide shell for some reason has insane crit damage so I like taking scattershot with it and nuking enemy groups.
The Agri is a prolific elite/special killer. The slug's damage isn't really enough to out compete just shooting normals shells, but it has high pen and is precise so the agri can actually snipe out distance targets or use the slug to nuke and stagger crushers/marauders. But its high accuracy is its biggest weakness, because enemies have to be very densely packed or lined up in order to get the most out of each shell, but it also has the best general range and so its very easy to get most or all of its juice.
The Kantrael is the highest raw damage of the three, but has the worst range and accuracy so its only good at very close quarters. Its special shell has shitty damage cuz its applying fire stacks and needs at least 2 shots for that damage to be appreciable- for most targets they die faster doing anything else. What the special shell is really really good for is DPS against bosses, or very thick bundles of enemies because it has extremely high penetration and will hit just about anything in the shotgun's cone of death. So if you get a big pack of heavy armor enemies you can just start nailing napalm round after round and burn them all down at a consistent pace no matter how many of them there are. Same concept for huge hordes of any enemy type, since the innate penetration of its normal shells is meh you basically want to use the fire shell when shooting at thicc groups.
The double-barrel is basically just a baby kickback shotty like the Ogryn's, but a bit more precise and not quite as nukey. Way more ammo efficient than the kickback, though, since it can fire individual shells. Save the wham trigger for really beefy targets like muties, bosses, carapce, etc. Range and the constantly reloading is its biggest weakness, but it does pump out insane amounts of damage besides
All shotguns excell at one thing in particular- and that's hordes. Of any kind, really. Sometimes you just run into an uber-dense pack of enemies that normal guns could take a long time to chew through and the shotguns really just don't give a shit. They'll assblast through tight packs of anything just as quickly or only very slightly slower than individuals. Meaning that they're incredible when you suddenly run into a herd of Ragers/Crushers/Maulers
and of course when a diarrhea of poxers/dregs starts spilling out of the nearest monster closet, they obviously excel there as well (granted basically all guns do so that's not really special). They love staircases and tight hallways since those are chokepoints that tend to make enemies bunch up
They also all share a critical weakness as well, and that's their absolutely awful ammo reserves
You forgot stuff
They just get so little relative to how quickly you use it and how much they do with it, you end up having to drink like half the drops on the map
all 3 of the normal shotty's do dramatically increased overall damage when ADSing- both because of a tighter choke focusing more damage in a smaller cone, but also yeah cuz they just get more damage. For some reason
double barrel is kinda less precise than a kickback in my experience, the kickback has access to surgical and the number of pellets is so large that you can countersnipe with it
so basically don't hipfire them unless you very explicitly need the wider spread to hit a pack of dudes

I happen to like the columnus autogun (braced and not braced) before this update, because i liked the high rate of fire and the very decent damage capability, also it didnt have much spread before but now thats kinda worse
I also happen to be holding onto a chainsword because it felt like those can smash a crowd but still deal highish dmg to elites and specialists

what weapons are good and why, dumbest way possible (ex: This gun good becuase it stacks with x, y, z to make big boom)

in actual fights you have to wait for stacks (purposefully not tag enemies) to get all 8 stacks on 1 enemy, which is bad because ur not supposed to wait for stacks
and if u don't wait for stacks, it's practically just a 4.5% dmg boost for redirect fire
it can stack from multiple veterans up to 8
yeah its rare to hit 8 actual stacks for the tag
its basically only ever at the start of a fight, and for monsters when you are deliberate about waiting it out
you should only really expect FT to give you two stacks (8%) + whatever redirect fire will cap at
which is usually 8% + 7.5% and thats pretty good

if u have higher stacks than the already-tagged enemy does, u can override that by tagging
successfully overriding a tag also refreshes its duration back to full 25s

Currently, I feel like the only "bad" weapons on Vet are the standard infantry lasguns and even then they aren't necessarily bad they're just not as good as the other options. IIRC peeps are saying boltgun is bad rn but honestly I don't feel it.

If you like columnus autos you'll probably like Accatran recon lasgun too, just remember to build it right (you want the marksman focus keystone and the Onslaught talent on the far right. Its a bit tight on points)

I've tried it, its a sprint tap when the number changes but that isn't enough. The remaining chunk of reload after the number shifts is like barely 5-10% of the overall animation and just pulling the gun back up from the sprint takes very nearly as long so it doesn't really seem like any time is actually saved

Boltgun’s problem is not rly dps, it’s the fact that it wants u to put all 30 points into middle & left side talent branches to make it be good
Boltguns biggest strength IMO is that it doesn't need alot of talents to work. It just kind of hits hard enough to onetap most smallstuff and twotap most medium stuff
you could just slap it into a basic shout build and do fine

but you'll be spending like 80% of your time not firing the weapon just cuz that slow reload makes it unusable into very large groups

I don't think you need all of that. For breakpoint purposes it only needs a very small boost to onetap ranged elites, and its not worth bothering to try and onetap melee elites/muties. Just fire the extra shots for them.
