knife had talents taken
Nah they'll kill him they'd just come up with a new campaign concept. Mobian regiment is doing x. There's always problems to solve in 40k.
the weapon setup and talents taken are shown at the end
I lied, not headshot
Damn nice.
but i specifically didn't take damage talents at all for chainsword to compensate for the "it's on zealot but not vet" argument
i took disdain as well as +infested damage for the knife
which is why i showed a video without wrath
"Better than average" - grumpy vet without a planet
my chainswords lacked disdain, purge the unclean, sustained assault, blazing piety, 2x +5% melee damage nodes, 10% attack speed, duellist, and the initial FotF
i hope that is enough to counteract the fact that the testing was done on zealot instead of vet just because he has better melee talents
i did it with the talent difference specifically to counteract certain talking points
also to note in the knife one, he hardly ever stacks scourge which means he isn't hitting the same targets w/ bleed
Oh yeah, scourge tracking
i don't think this is a case of UI running out of space because of his setup
No scourge means either no cleave or one-hits
i wonder what weapon would benefit really well from hitting certain pox BPs and having crit chance
Honestly easier to be one-hits
for poxwalker clear
I unironically hit so hard on knife zealot that I struggle with stacking scourge on trash
Knife, technically
DC swords
Dueling sword too
Fast weapons that kill one enemy per attack are actually a decent option for horde clear
I myself was buried on some headshot crit breakpoint for knife at one point of my life
The intention was finding the knife that would one-hit a poxwalker with a headshot without using infested
With that weapon test mod I might end up reviving the meme
I would be a much happier reject if all classes just had the same weapons except Ogryn obviously. Psyker can keep the warp stuff. Just give me all the melees for zealot on vet 😭
Psyker staves on Zealot just so you can start a match and watch the Zealot break the staff in half over his knee before swapping melee
Plasma on Psyker
I just spent the last 6 minutes clutching through progressively more horrendous spawns and didn't even get it
Set off your head to explode and your Plasma gun to explode then see which one wins the race to kill you first
The game moved teammate respawn because I had to walk a teensy bit forward past them 💀
Are the tac axes any good? Contemplating buying the cool wrapped skin
The Kasr camp
Camo
The default skin for the Tac Axe IV looks so good but yeah new paid cosmetic Tac Axe skin too
The brown taxe has more damaging lights
voidstrike staff?
voidstrike is just a more balanced plasma gun changed my mind
because of its lack of ammo usage?
I have genuinely never touched Voidstrike or Trauma staff so idk LOL
I have very little time spent played on the other classes
I mean you reach one shot break points with both, though the voidstrike is better against carapace with certain set ups
I love surge on the voidstrike
but I think the key difference is the ttk
the voidstrike is slower to get shots out
and each shot relies on actual skill to hit
it might be the only ranged weapon in darktide with a skill component
Maybe I should try Voidstrike. I usually love going Surge or Purge for staves
voidstrike is ... sorta like the surge staff
with less mobility
and worse boss damage
but better for other stuff
and also more fun
...wait so what's the upside
the upside is that it has pen
God I love 7a recon so much
So good and yummy
voidstrike is way stronger overall
or well... "one shot"
it's also stronger against bosses, if you can aim
What perks/blessings do you want? Also what stat priority?
voidstrike definitely is not stronger against bosses
I will try to make a good Voidstrike staff to toy with it when I get home
One major thing is that psyker has soulblaze stuff so the moment u start killing elites & specials with Voidstrike there’ll be DOT ramp up to meet breakpoints that you’d otherwise miss, whereas plasma is super strict with its 1 taps
Also psyker has very high finesse scaling with DD which Voidstrike basically always takes
you dont really need soul blaze?
not with disrupt destiny at least
since that just means you kill things
you still need surge to proc to kill crushers tho
Soulblaze is not necessary, it’s just extra Dmg for free
yesn't, like.. it depends, the damage only matters if it lowers the number of hits required to kill something
Yea it does
it's good with lots of enemies as you can stack a lot of stacks
but it relies on pathing down the other side of the tree
and I go crit voidstrike
rather than the alternative
Pretty sure soulblaze ramp up makes rager groups just flat out die in 1 shot from void
yeah but you can just one shot them anyway from what I'm aware
with full dd
I might be wrong on that
you definitely one shot them on crit
Crit with DD yes
I'm pretty sure they die with dd and no crit though
Surge isn’t needed for rager 1 taps, it just has DD stack requirement
mhm I know a lot of people say surge isn't the optimal build path but honestly it can't be that much worse if it isnt
its so stacked
Which isn’t hard to get anyways
Surge is a very fun blessing but it’s rly just
+200k overkill dmg
For the most part
Transfer peril is nice
Pretty sure it doesn’t have internal cooldown?
U could cleave 10 poxwalkers in the head and instantly quell 80% peril
It’s fun
I wont complain, its not a huge change
Even though flurry + nexus is prob still generally better
yeah true, though it was fun anyway and already dumb levels of strong
But the ICBM blue ball strat is very fun
honestly psyker in general is
always eating good
they have so many strong options
I dont think the class is better than vet overall but
its nice they're in a good spot
nah, they're not that good
being blue balled across continent is a bad way to go
imagine being a crusher.. literally a huge ogryn in some of the strongest armor in the setting
and a psyker comes along with a funny stick, and one shots you
arm diff
the veterans arms: unable to hold a bolt gun steady even when not firing
also the veterans arms: strong enough to chop through carapace like its nothing
they really should put a fucking stock on the boltguns if theres that much sway
Did u see the boltgun model’s firing animation
its the boltgun good?
like in third person or?
I think they should buff Crushers tbh
I dont think crushers need to be buffed as much as some weapons need to be way less good at killing them
also some weapons need to be less useless against em for sure
For an Ogryn in full body Carapace they are so non-threatening
theres just a huge disparity between weapons with good anti armor and those without
I think they're mostly meant to get in the way
You'd need to nerf half the weapon roster LOL
and be disruptive
If I’m using zarona or db with my knife, would it be worthwhile to run WS?
nah I think boltgun should be fine against carapace but
not that good
I do think hand cannon give a fun niche to the revolver its just the weapons down sides are way too easily overcome
guaranteed crits and free reloads
really?
Oh okay I think @tall torrent said it wasn’t
I guess when I think of a good weapon with ws
Maybe I’m misremembering
I want something that can generate stacks in a single swing
for the free crit on swap
This one
this one
If u shoot it in hipfire u can see the bolt carrier group physically move back (through the gun’s back)
WS knife is goateded
This is better even though it has only 7 continuous shots
I have never noticed this at all
It has better breakpoints
Revolver already has idfk like 20% crit bonus from the stat
They miss one shot from thermal resist being too low but they get high enough damage and stopping power to hit the important breakpoints
What weapon you think I should run it with? I’m basically gonna be running full commando
Vet has a base 7.5% and the 5% node
ohh yeaah
That's 32.5%
I forget vet class has higher crit chance
Okay bet
Surgical is pretty much always with one stack, so you have 42.5%
You slap one cunt with WS and it's 75.5%
idk
yeah but... slap three cunts and its 100%
its not a tiny difference over a long period of time though but not relying on surgical
I think two already guarantees a crit for you
I also dont think its base crit is 20%?
It’s more like
Knife doesnt benefit as much from the atk speed bonus as smth like a Rashad so you’re not quite getting the full benefit of the full package
though I might be wrong there
I think the best way to approach that would simply be what happened to the bulwarks, nerf spawns but buff their overall stats and HP
crushers have already had their stats buffed not too too long ago I think
if I'm being honest though I'm not a massive fan of how armor works in this game generally though
it is good?
Samesies
Oh okay I think I misinterpreted what you said then
I think it should "Stagger" in the sense of not knocking down on their asses but rather just stunning them
What should I do to this? Is it bricked?
I think elite toughness is pretty goated though
Rending is annoying and carapace is made not special by how much it's used
if you dont need blaze to make break points
you can be immortal
I think I get like 62 toughness or something every time I headshot something
One crusher should be an "oh shit" moment, not "let me do two heavies"
I remember being terrified of chaos warriors in Vermintide
though I do find ping annoying to spam for simple breakpoints
I guess if you want to run weapon specialist plasmagun but
Some people clowned on them, but it was a risky game
theres not really much point
Same
I dont mind it if theres one
The low ranged ammo meant shooting a chaos warrior had more weight
if there are two plasmaguns in my game though I'll leave
same with smite
it's just not fun
@formal lake you know if this is bricked or not?
Nah not bricked but it's not possible to get a groll, still serves the purpose of shwacking bosses
Though it might be me being traumatized of the ping-based block and dodge
Ahhhh okay
Yeah I ads but only to snipe really
at what difficulty did grail knight stop one shotting them
hillarious class
Which I don’t need to do a lot
Never lol
Crucian to surgical, sprint to maniac
crucian is good
Honestly I’d use surgical if I had surg 4
I will never abandon
Okay thanks!
yeah the mobility boost is real nice
Surgical easily stacks 20% crit chance because of waiting for the weapon to align the sights
its not very often you can take stuff like that
you dont gotta wait
Recon 6d + Infernus = diet flamethrower
the zarona makes enemy head hitboxes as big as your screen
its more impressive to miss
on god
It is, but I don't YOLO the shots
its not yolo if you literally cant miss
it has the same head hitbox properties as the voidstrike..
I'm, dare I say, quite surgical
on a hit scan weapon
the only reason I can possibly think they did this was so it wouldnt be useless on a controller
while moving
I wonder if they'd bring themselves to remove it
probably not
honestly theres not a great deal of point
people that are good already arent missing
so you'd just be nerfing lesser skilled players
which isnt really gonna be a positive change ig
for a coop game
The Mk10 laspistol is a needle and sometimes frustrating to shoot
But my hits are my hits
are there any other weapons with dumb head hitboxes
yes
its a tiny amount of effort
And it hits really hard too, but Fartshart left it like that
and you'd neer need to get a new one
maybe thats just my collector itch though
I do ultimately want a good built version of every weapon
???????????
big if true
honestly a lot of marks are just
straight up downgrades
that I'm unsure as to why you would take them
I thought it wouldn't be retroactive
Changing variants is something I've been nagging about for months ngl
Always miffed me that my character could forget how to swing an overhead if their weapon looked different
I myself would be a fan of a "make your moveset" system, but that might be asking much
gimme a tide game with omni directional attacking
Like deciding that two sweep heavies would loop, or that the push attack leads into an overhead
I would just turn the knife moveset into the ds4 lmao
mk4 heavies are the goat
overheads n thrusts, my beloved
all weapons should have em
I'm a big fan of the executioner sword
Which
Horizontal lights, vertical heavies
Wait mb
Easy to use, but a slow and deliberate moveset
Read wrong
I've not played in a year. Is there a good summary of what's new recently, and what it means for Vet?
The Mk15 eviscerator is almost the exec sword, but unfortunately it's a zealot exclusive and a chain weapon
And its attacks have a weird lag
But mostly the first two
Ogryn fart
Ive started to use the tigrus evicerator and its been suprisingly good
I hated it before
Guess momentum really fixed it for me
its now really gone after the patch
but its still slow
I run it with the crit keystone cuz perfect strike
Which modifiers do I use on the plasma gun?
big if true big if true big if true
2h weapons got wacked the most
nor taxe but taxe by nature is a niche weapon anyway
knife on the other hand
I like the crit CDR change, but tbh I was already used to not having utterly goated CDR
it was nice
not great
after the delay buff
its fineish
still astonishes me
how 2h weaponry of zealot tends to get shafted
and optimal zealot is just some crackhead with a butterknjfe
rashad marty mixes everything up yea
more of a mincer at that point
Question: How is this for a mk 2 laspistol, for my Vet? :/
Also: Do the recon lasguns each do different amounts of damage, now, per shot? It looks like they changed the damage on all 3 of them :/
plasma gun still king, zarona weapon specialist still king, new bolt pistol is okay and fun
But man that sway
Recon Mk VIIa does the most damage per shot but has the slowest fire rate
Recon Mk VId has the lowest damage per shot but the highest fire rate
Recon Mk II sits between them
But like time to kill varies per target
yeah you gotta run dead shot or exec stance
or have crippling depression
Recon Mk II has the highest single target DPS and best ammo economy
at least with dead shot you don't need to always burn stamina
as the hipfire is accurate
Recon Mk VIIa has cleave for better horde clear and easier mixed horde clear
Recon Mk VId has the fire rate to get the best value out of Onslaught (really the only Recon who can use it properly tbh) to kill Crushers effectively
They're all good in different ways
Just pick which ever one you like because they're all fine now
So... are the 3 recon lasguns more or less like the 3 helbores, for what the basic differences are?
Sorta? But you care less about breakpoints on the Recons. It's more about DPS/TTK
Hey no need to call me out
So not much changed? How are autoguns doing?
So the 6 has the highest dps and the 7 has cleave and the highest damage per shot(but lowest rof)?
The Recon Mk II has the best ammo economy by a large margin for those who lean more heavily on ranged gameplay
It can maintain ammo throughout a mission better than the other two
Does that mean that the mk 6 recon does the best with infernus...?
Headhunter and Dum Dum but Infernus is an ok sidegrade to Dum Dum. It's less damage at most ranges but not too significant to make the weapon bricked if you get Infernus instead and would rather change perks
I'm guessing dum dum and deathspitter are the go-to blessings then?
Did the helbore lasguns ever get better? Last i remember they were made good on paper but were too tedious to use for little gain over other options.
Generally you don't go Deadshot on Recons (unless you're me LOL) so your crit chance is really poor without Headhunter
Wack or crack fellas
Headhunter synergizes with Shock Trooper to extend your ammo economy massively and improve your overall damage
So... can I work with this, for my psyker? >.>
More than just saving ammo, it extends the time between reloads
Longer volleys for more damage without needing to reload
I know the damage and ammo rolls are bad for that recon
OH PSYKER
Ok Dum Dum and Infernus
Psyker has Scriers and True Aim
You don't need Headhunter on the Recons for a Psyker
I was talking Veteran, at first. I was just asking about this one for my psyker, since she is level 30
I have t3 infernus in my blessing pool, I don't have any tier of dum dum though
Ah, oh well. Thanks for the info.
I don't have any tier of headhunter either...
Swap both blessings imo
For your Psyker go Dum Dum and Infernus for funny flamethrower memes
Dum Dum will also boost Infernus tick damage
Aim head height and burn holes through heads
So for that specific 6d should I start by switching speedloader for infernus since I don't have dum dum or headhunter in my recon blessing pool?
Yeah that would work
Deathspitter is ok but Dum Dum would be better than Deathspitter
I honestly want to try out the recon on the psyker, after the changes to the recon...
It's very fun hitting Scriers and just vomiting a fiery laser light show into enemies
Not as strong as Columnus Infantry Autogun but like nothing really is tbh. No automatic gun comes close and really only two other weapons can even compare in the same league of it
So I want scriers gaze with the recon lasgun, for crit chance?
I am only used to using venting shriek, tbh... :/
same as always, very very strong
My psyker is getting offered all the good stuff... they are being offered t4 both barrels, for the double barreled shotgun from melk as well :/
Psyker has a lot of really fun talents to synergize with the rolling crits
grab
I have enough melk bucks for both that recon and the ironhelm...
Wow... my recon blessing pool is so sadge... t3 hit and run, t3 infernus, t2 deathspitter, and t2 stripped down are all I have... 😦
alrighty, time to play
After bleeding all my melk bucks... I think I'm gonna do my 1st and 2nd zealot's weekly contracts <.<
Still I gotta say: This is, by far, probably my absolute favorite portrait... probably because of the description alone lol
how did you bleed all your melk buks
So... do I want reality anchor or precognition with scrier's gaze...?
some slaaneshi cultist shit
Getting t4 both barrels from a double barreled shotgun on my psyker and getting this recon lasgun for my psyker for later @midnight totem
I wanted it for later >.>
Currently what I got for knife + zarona, any suggestions? @formal lake
I’m working on getting a second +3 stam curio too, but I’m keeping my one that helps me up to 200 health
What would you drop?
Demo team for nades
Okay
Anything else?
Not really tbh, I have a lot of stam and I’ll have even more soon
Honestly I would but low profile is really helpful lol
You’re probably right
Might be something I should try working on without, it’s a lil bit of a cop out
I’ll fold but at least it won’t be during cowardice
But now I have an assload of buffs after my infil ends lol
Anything else you’d suggest?
Also this is my knife rn
If it helps
Right but I also have zarona for those
So something to think abt I guess
God this match, idk why the lowest scoring Zealot was playing Auric Damnation
Sorry just got home!
I can share with you the talent tree I use for Recon Psyker gameplay but I should warn I'm a much less experienced Psyker player so it's definitely not optimized LOL
someone else more familiar with Psyker could probably give more pointers on talent tree picks
Almost lvl 30 got a 29 vet what should i look for when it comes to weapons and optimal builds?
Do you have an Ogryn named gordo? If so I think I played a game w you earlier
my ogryn is named Albert lol hes 17
Oh never mind then lol
sadge
psyker talk go crazy in the vet channel
yeah it's goofy but like sometimes other classes come here to talk builds LOL
tough for new players but i understand
Vet chat just generally has people who know the ins and outs of weapons and talents available more often
Ogryns at least have the Ogrynomicon
but fr any recommendations for vet builds?
lol
or should i just go to youtube for the basics?
Depends on what weapon you're looking to use
Generally you can't go wrong picking up certain talents that nearly every build grabs though
very new to darktide so im open to options
Confirmed Kill or Out for Blood, Iron Will, at least ONE of the grenade regen options (Demo Stockpile > Demo Team)
its hard to decide after so many updates and the addition to skill trees now
ive played very casually since launch
I just got this from a Auric malestorm. I know supercharged it's the optimal perk but idk about the rest
OH WAIT NUMBERS CAT HAS THAT HP BREAKPOINT
ok so
you want to get a collective +34% HP from curios, curio perks and talents somehow
this will give you over 200 HP
lets you survive three poxburster pops
if you get at least one 20% sniper resist perk you can also take 2 sniper hits
being able to eat 3 poxbursters or 2 sniper shots without going down is a huge deal
you can do this easiest by getting 2 HP curios
your general survivability SKYROCKETS once you have that HP down
add in Voice of Command, Iron Will and Confirmed Kill and suddenly Vet becomes a very tough nut to crack in a fight
gold toughness from Voice of Command is just too good LOL
Shield on gunker lets you alleviate suppression in chokepoints, but I guess there's always assail
shields also let you play so aggressively
gunker doesn't need more damage
though I am not a massive fan of scriers anyway
I run empowered psionics gunker

best build
I love that flay benefits from the damage stacks but doesnt use one
That's just EP assail with a gun dip
DD is
I think dd + void edges it out for me as it feels a lot less squishy
DD lets void oneshot dreg gunner heads
Unless you want to run +unarmored void lol
does it not one shot with full warp stacks?
No
Well it's 1k damage on heads
I hate the idea behind using your ability gutting your damage
So you need 40%
It's not really
one psyker using it
you see scriers on almost every gun psyker
Or a proper knife build without lacerate
really?
they're not as common anymore but
there was a time where at least half of the psykers in my game were
Don't you mean monstrous specialist
daemonhosts
they get stuck in their animation its so sad
I have never seen anyone do that
sloooooooooowly standing up
dropped 1 mil damage the first time I tried DD void recently
switched over from warp charges
yeah its practically made for the void staff its so perfect
doesn't help that all the other staffs require 0 skill to use
I wish psyker had more weapons that require you to actually like... play the game
purg requires the skill of guessing what enemies are behind your blue flames
void is the only projectile huh
What is godroll on revolver. What is it's dump stat(s)
The quick draw one sorry
They're both called "quickdraw stub revolvers."
Oh
The ADS one or the fan the hammer one?
Can't answer you on that then, sorry.
What about the ads one
If you were looking for a zarona I could help.
The blessings are surgical and hand cannon.
Perks are dependent on the setup you're using.
Oops, all critical headshots on elites
Mine is carapace and elite damage so I am more effective at dropping maulers/crushers and I hit both 1tap bps for gunners.
Bps?
Breakpoints.
I.e. "I need to hit it this many times to kill it."
My revolver 1shots both types of gunners without a crit, but it requires a headshot.
As for the dump stat...
It's got both mobility and reload speed, no?
Neither of those have to be particularly high, but they help out if they're a decent %.
Anywho, vet has a lot of damage talents, so your perks are definitely going to be subject to your build.
Big kicker here is you want surgical and hand cannon for a zarona.
if you dont have maniac damage, you're gonna rely on getting a crit to one shot trappers and flamers
so keep in mind you'll often be wasting 2/5 bullets on them if you dont have it
I think the main changes I would make to that tree is instead of taking Mettle and Perfect Timing I would take 2 other +15 toughness talents myself... Otherwise those options after both the career skill and keystone were the ones I chose for my initial build <.<'
Eh... I might also change anticipation out for either quietude, soulstealer, or mettle/perfect timing tbh...
quietude is kind of a must take
its your biggest source of peril regen
I mean toughness
What’s high noon vet
Exe Stance fan hammer revolver?
That could be fun honestly even if that’s not it
the quell 10% peril randomly on kill talent is even worse if youre not getting toughness from it
quelling from 100% peril after scrier's gaze outpaces like several trash gunners shooting you at once
I also am using the dueling sword 4, so dodge count isn't as much of a stressing factor imo...
Doing 900 damage to crushers with each heavy is nice, when I have all 5 stacks of t2 uncanny strike... I know I want to get t4 uncanny strike for my dueling swords, but, I only have t2 available so I am making due with what I have x.x
anybody up for aurics?
What is max dodge count
its him
No
continue to never touch it
filthy noob gun
What games are you playing
Googoogaga tbh
which weapons have innate suppression resist again?
helbore hipfire
Zarona Revolver has suppression immunity on hipfire, but not when aiming down sights
Plasma and Shotgun are suppression immune
Helbores and Laspistols are so suppression resistant that at a glance they appear suppression immune (and might as well be tbh)
Ogryn guns are all immune
Psykers staves are immune
I might be missing something
could it be the scab trapper
Can we get a net gun as the next weapon
Ogryn guns and psyker staves don't have ads so checks out
Lemme shoot a net at a charging mutie and then beat it to death with a shock maul
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Shredder autopistol
Combat shotguns (all 3)
Assault shotgun
Plasma
THE SHREDDER
Laspistol & Helbore have minimal suppression (not immune but very low accuracy loss)
I knew I was forgetting one
shredder chads stay winning
Net gun a mutant and tickle their toes
that's it you're going in the net
what is high noon vet? Oo
what is the build omfg
I have never seen a pub vet do this
what happens when u mix 2 damage boosting abilities, and a fuck ton of other damage multipling addons
Besides like once
deadshot, focus target, big ones dmg, exec stance...
dont forget bout the talent node that gives u more weak spot damage
probably unyielding on the zarona and sustained fire
trickshooter maybe§
precision strikes and the 20% power node on weakspot
that's the agripina revolver but you can do it with the zarona revolver too
it'd just be slower on the fire rate
...and slower on the reload
speedloader VS manual loading
It's a meme build to party trick bosses, it's not a comparatively effective weapon outside of that one gimmick
You take all the on ult damage boosts because there's weird math
Also it has better unyielding damage for some reason
I sense recon envy
High noon vet is a skilled version of TH zealot
yeah yeah go shit in the sink again
Bait used to be believable
No baking the cat
pusheen my dick in your mouth lmao
Prove it
tier 3 subscribers only
Present it
Wth is a high noon vet
I mean, why not in 3veg
bing image search mccree sfm
Overwatch SFM
elite + maniac, surgical + hand cannon
What should I change?
mmmmm High noon Trickshot Agripinaa revolver 🤤
People not acknowledging its existence bc Zarona exists
I definitely Agrippina every night
I hate ppl that don't even make an attempt at finishing the first event on chasm station quickly
Why do they like to sit in the back instead of covering the ppl ready to do the hacking?
Stuff is just gonna spawn endlessly
Perks, shattering is useless but those are more important
Is competitive urge for in coherency or can it proc from anyone anywhere?
It doesn't say it's in coherency but I would assume it'd be
Reload to elite, shattering to blaze/gloryhunter or swap specialist to flak
It’s not perfect but it’ll do
Weapon specialist plasma got nerfed this patch, it’s not rly worth now
Won't stop me
Besides I only play vet with it and volver otherwise
I love to spam ping so no middle and I can't land headshots
Could go back to no termination

Should I change anything or keep as is?
It's great

idk I like my ammo
Is there such a thing as tier 4 headhunter for the recon Las?
Poured over 50k plasteel and diamantine but can't discover that blessing yet
browsing through the nexus mods, and found a mod which replaces the titles in russian version to their russian prison slang versions (which you would understand only if you are really into this topic), and they even dont lose the meaning if i understand correctly, pretty funny mod considering we all are prisoners of some kind in the game
So I haven't played in awhile but now my Vet feels like they're running through mud all the time and my autogun feels like its a peeshooter... So how can I get my sprinting rambo feeling again?
There's an ms aura and might (might, I don't remember) be an ms node
But you won't get anything like pre talent patch vet
Which gun are you using?
under out for blood
I do have a crackhead vet build
I know I yapped about how infil is not the best ult for doing agressive shit
but the right path tree has so many good things about it
ofb is also absurdly good lol
been kinda sleeping on it since most my builds go middle path
Probably swap one of the perks out for unarmored for dreg shooter one taps on charged shots
prolly switch elites maybe?
could you build me a talent tree for the helbore?
I have not used a helbore in forever so it would be very generalist
Actually I haven't used them since before the bayonet spam was a thing so I'm especially out of touch
Well that's a level of cheeky-breeky I didn't except to see in Darktide
are brittleness and rendingthe same thing?
rending is a buff to you brittleness is an applied debuff
tldr brittleness buffs team wise damage
but it only works on enemy's that have armour eg make carapace equiv to flak
does nothing to bosses
well the usual three anyway it works on the twins
Let's explain this better. What brittleness and rending do is close the gap between a weapon's dmg and the dmg influenced by an armour's resistance modifier. If you weapon does 100dmg hitting a crusher might do only 60 dmg. Applying brittleness/getting rending will make you do more dmg, closer or true to 100 but never more
@idle pecan this is what i run for helbore if it helps snipe specials for nadeability regen/ to help clear horde buff your teamates hope it helps :)
That's why when getting rending or brittleness you check your weapon's stats first
^^ what they said is more accurate i was using the layman explanation poorly
thanks for the explanation, i was trying the recon las build that stacks brittleness via the 3 path talent tree
wondering if i should get the rending node too
heard this build is viable again
So this may be a dumb question, but once I hit 30 how should I proceed with gearing up? Besides relying on random drops should I just spam the armory till I get some good rolls on weapons?
correct me if i'm wrong but as far as i know you won't get a significant boost in damage out of that as you should already be approaching the 100/100 possible damage once brittle applys and would be better withone of the elite /specialist buff
i would suggest only doing it for weapons you know you will like otherwise you end up playing the game to fuel the lotto instead of enjoying the game generally anything above 360 will hold you fine even in maelstrom should you choose the weapon stats aren't as important as the blessing and perk setup (tho they are still vital for a great roll)
Max rending/brittleness combined is 40% if I'm not wrong
So even getting all the rending/brittleness from your nodes will not go over that
when farming blessings i would suggest only rolling to blue as the orange upgrade only has a slightly higher chance of rolling tier 4 and cost almost ~1000 plasteel more to achieve. weapon base level matters more to the rng calc for tier 4 anyway afaik
To clarify, rending and brittleness still give you something at over 100% adm, but it's at a 1/4 value so it's generally not worth it.
They both counter falloff damage btw
is this worth upgrading
100% is the rending cap, onslaught alone is 40 when stacked.
Oh cool
But then again i don't think it brings that much more value
So t4 uncanny gives you a useless 20% rending that doesn't benefit you for no reason
Huh

chadshark
Shouldn't it stack like crit chance
Rending strikes is very good for a fair few weapons
But onslaught is quite niche and basically just for crusher killing
Monstrosities?🤨
And boss maelstrom
Depends on the weapon, yes you will get it stacked but at 1/4 value it's only 10% damage boost.
Which I suppose is something if it's teamwide
Idk what to do on my recon lasgun stamina build
I have flak and elite perks
But I'm so tempted to get stamina and crit chance
It's the most chad vet build https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9c7ba9dc-a5d3-4534-b2c6-39296bda62df/recon-vet-2?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_button
what are your thoughts pals?
Crit chance is fine but keep in mind that the typed damage boosts will be better for ttk
taxe 4 doesn't benefit much from brutal
what should i swap out on this
Due to having a very hard time hitting bruiser breakpoints (you'd probably need multiple on ult damage boosts)
well I had to chose between bromentuml or All or Nothing
You made the right choice
Not sure how going shred vs the flak change will compare overall
All or nothing is good on weapons that have a good block attack
I said something earlier but one of the perks for unarmored so you can bodyshot one tap dreg shooters with charged shots
If you're running exe you might not need it
I'd say elite is more valuable than unyielding generally
Bulwarks/reapers/bosses are less pressing to shoot
You'd be better off taking headhunter over infernus, especially on the slowest/hardest hitting variant
You may also not hit bruiser one taps without +unarmored
But I actually want the crits to benefit more rather than just no ammo consumption talent
The value you're getting won't be very good
Also infernus is ammo positive because i often let them just burn to death
Yeah that looks like a sneaky setup
more loadouts and characters iirc
I need at least 10
i have 20 so you should be good
The crits themselves are plenty of reward, and critting more is better because shots are free and your direct damage does way more dps than infernus.
Yeah sounds good. It's annoying untangling half if your skill tree cause you want to try some stuff
MF is not the most efficient take, you're also giving up tac awareness, iron will, and rending strikes.
What about replacing dumdum, i never actually measured how close, close damage is
12.5
Meters
No, that would be a terrible idea
Close range damage works like zealots anoint in blood
Full value up to 12.5, then tapering down over distance to about 47~ or something
Oh it doesnt just cut off?
It's a large, omnipresent damage boost against every target
It does not, it's extremely good
While infernus doing things is more "memorable" due to the kill feed from the burn on a target that slipped away
Dumdum is more effective, especially on the slow/hard hitting variant
What about the brittleness burn synergy?
I covered this earlier, one second
Onslaught doesn't apply on dots anymore and hasn't for a very long time, if that's what you meant
You can choose between performance or a funny visual that doesn't really do much
send out the cauliflower signal
personally i would swap the perks blessings are great would suggest flak and carapace to make breakpoints easier to achieve and you can swap out later as need be for the threats you struggle with most tho i am not the most familar with the damage chart for the hellbore so someone else more knowledgable should speak up if i'm wrong
afaik weight of fire is best in slot tho
You cant kite with psword
And too much shit at once will overwhelm the time needed to activate special
And, you know, zealot gets freaking invulnerability and damage reduction out their ass
And crit builds
And more
vets also gets a fuckton of damage reduction to be fair
It’s like so easy to kite with combat knife and it’s made it like really fun to almost fence with crushers and spawns
33% from drill sergeant
50% from iron will
Big dodge back, sprint up and jab in the chrome dome
I think overall, vet is more busted simply due to shout pee toughness. But movement speed and passive invuln of zealot makes them better for truly shit hits the fan scenarios
Lol pee toughness
Can't tag right now, I'm making piss
VoC
GET IN THERE
MAKE THEM PEE
or
PEE IN THERE
MAKE THEM SCREAM
I like the bolt pistol
well youre WRONG
Boltpistol is fun and the silly candle isn't in the way anymore
But it was really funny when it was
puncture is really cool, wish more weps had that idea
also i miss the candle
like genuinely lmao
The emperor guides my aim
you cant tell me that shit aint kino
Can we get a helmet with candles glued to the face and our view is literally just fire
the emperors light will guid your aim ( probs less jank than reg bolter irons
New map modifier: Lights On
I also like the Bistol, on someone else's hand
Played with a vet yesterday and he definitely min maxxed that
I like to have the bolt pistol and chain axe and pretend I’m Bail sharr
I like to take a bolt pistol and shoot all 8 shots at a team mate whenever they go down to RP a Commissar
I didn't execute them but they know I would have
King shit I just tried it out recently so I’ma figure out the best min max stuff for it
King shif
like other than the difference in blessings
it really is just a quickdraw bolter
and when you think about it, its not like bolter blessings are that great to begin with
so bistol is pretty dope
sadly there's not a bunch of tech for me to practice/abuse with it but that's alright
only a gremlin like me would see that as a downside
Power Sword Mk VI
oh man,,,,
Push attack is a strong thrust that combos into light swings very well for easy combos to kill Crushers
It also does diagonal lights for charged strikes into hordes
Power Sword Mk III does horizontal heavies for a very satisfying head height swing carving off heads but the slower swing means the Power Sword Mk VI is generally safer for horde clear
GIVE THEM THE KASRKIN DOUBLE PEE
They're both good but the VI is just all around better
penetration is a dump stat on this?
eh
youre only missing 10% damage against armor types vs. an 80% roll
so i wouldnt lose sleep over it
the absolute bulk of the damage is the actual damage + shredder stat
(Its not even 10% btw its closer to 5-8 but it varies per armor type and attack)
if there is smoke, will trappers have to get closer to shoot their net?
Good question. I know it reduces their range, but I don’t know if the trapper ai is aware of that
Trappers get confused
That being said I’ve never seen anyone get trapped in smoke
will test
i think their range is shortened
and that this effect ends immediately when they leave the smoke cloud proper
is my understanding
What are you guys using on the Ironhelm shotgun atm?
haha now ur sights are unusable
the bigget problem with smoke is just throwing a shredder frag is usually better
Did you find that trappers will have to hug you inside the smoke?
Or that flamers will move around a lot
smokes would be much better if they didnt have to cook for so lon
Personally just want a screen indicator that I'm inside the smoke
Because the buff bar is not doing a good job rn
thats fair
mr milk decided to give me a kiss on the lips this morning
Yes
What a kind food he fed you
Rest of us get slops food
whatd you for him to become your sugarmelky?
This makes me sad. Milk has never given me a kiss on the lips.
Anyone ever try running exe Stance with fan hammer revolver? Very Wild West stand-off vibes
As a HHA enjoyer I am extremely jealous
Is the reload on that MK fast enough to keep the chain going?
I could also see it working with the talent that highlights Ogryns since it has killer unyielding damage
I think so, since it’s the full cylinder at once
Could be fun
I'll have to add that to my TODO list
Lemme know how it goes, I’m at work rn
Pay to lose is my fav mechanic LOL
A shame they fixed it
P2L warriors 💪💪💪
def not, mobility and defenses are dump stats
At least it's the fastest one to throw in the game to my knowledge
Hey guys I am looking for a veteran build/builds that use krak grenade, infiltrate, marksman focus & smoke grenade
Penances is the reason I want other builds
Maybe I should just put my own builds onto games lantern
So far, it's REALLY good at killing Ogryns. I took out like 6 reapers, a bulwark and a crusher with relative ease. Also good for batches of crushers. Reminds me of old Chastize+Revolver. Good times.
This leaves you with 3 more points to spend as you like
If you prefer Vanguard and Out for Blood you can swap the top tree to the right side and skip Confirmed Kill but generally Confirmed Kill is going to be better for survivability
If you're not a fan of Low Profile you could swap that to Hunter's Resolve
The three points give you some leeway to build for whatever your weapons need
Could grab Determined if your ranged weapon needs the suppression immunity, can comfortably reach Bring It Down if you need an Ogryn breakpoint, etc.
You could even drop 2 of the 3 points down the right path to get Trench Fighter Drill for the increased melee attack speed
Up to you
Oh damn sick lol, it sounded like fun
thx! what weapons should I use? that works for auric. I am tired of plasma & power sword
I would change out for the emperor because that only takes effect once infiltrate breaks.
Does Deadshot still activates even if you have no stamina left ?
No.
that's th eonly one that doesn't lol
Crit bonuses only apply when you have stamina.
Really? Interesting. I take back what I said, then.
damn
If deadshot worked when you didn't have stamina it would probably be a must-have take for all ranged builds outside of weapon specialist ones.
It would literally be superiority complex of you have to take or you’re actually throwing
It would have some gimmick such as infinite ammo recon 6d 10 stacks
did they fix this? mine isn't lit
They temporarily patched it (removed flame on candle) so your ADS view isn’t obstructed
It’ll be patched further at a later date
gotcha
i wish i liked the bolt pistol
i really want to like it
it just...feels pretty bad to use
the recoil is insane, the stagger isnt high enough (it can't self-proc execution on elites by just shooting, which sucks. At least in my testing in the meat grinder. Maulers etc you have to stagger them another way like shout or grenade, you can trigger it on maulers with the weapon push, but doesnt work on crushers) and the dmg is meh at best.
is there some secret to unlocking its potential im not trying?
ive tried it on both vet and zealot and both times felt like it was a handicap lol
It's not meant to be a sniper pistol like the revolver is.
You want to use it at mid range or, if you have lethal proximity, point blank.
I like using it on weapon specialist builds with puncture and lethal proximity just so I can quick swap to it and crit something at point blank.
Also, aiming it isn't necessarily what you want to do. The hipfire is really accurate.
that's also how many times i shot to kill a poxhound
I really wanted to test if I could shoot the cover and have the shooters stand up due to explosion stagger
I had like 3 games with it lmao
its not plasma gun generous about it is the thing
And forgot to test that
so sometimes you shoot a box from a slightly different angle and it doesnt do shit
when it worked the last time
i usually just dont do it
not worth the ammo
I've been enjoying it with Surgical, Deadly Accurate, Deadshot, Bring it Down and Focus Target. It's pretty good for hunting Oggies, and with good aim you can still deal with gunners at mid range, and if necessary you can wait for 100% crit with surgical.
It also is pretty good at anti-shooter, which is something I wouldn't waste ammo on with the revolver, usually.
best results are thin railings
me watching my team of three zealots vaccum up all the ammo as my reserves get lower and lower
and now theyre dead
unironically wouldnt have happened if i was able to shoot the shotgunner horde smh
literally the ONE ROUND i decide i dont feel like using an ammo efficient gun lmao
actually now i think on it more, bistol probs doesnt pen geometry
ive gotten hitmarkers but thats gotta be from the explosive round
bistol does not
cause i cannot recall doming a gunner dead that way
for some reason i actually like the bolt pistol but yeah its tough to use
its real nice
i killed a scab shooter through one of the sheet metal railings but it might've had its head clipping through lol
as vet its exactly as efficient but easier to handle than the bigboi
its just better to whip out when things are getting tough which was my major gripe with the locke
(You have less ammo to start but with always prepared you hit 100 reserve so survivalist goes exaxtly as far)
you can quickdraw the bolter btw
if you love breaking your head in with tech
but obviously bistol just does that innately and better lol
the only tech my brain is wrinkly enough to pull off is the plasma gun reload
ye same principle
wait thats not it
forgor where i had that
mmm, just lost a QP match mid-Valkyrie intro speech
classic quickplay
My second match had 4 vets with Executioner Stance. We did not last long.
lol get executed
I died last, so I take that as a personal victory.
How is "accuracy" for the penance measured? 90% is just every 9 out of 10 bolts hit the target, or is there something else to it?
mmmh an okay bolt gun from melk
oh wait no ,the bleed does not trigger on the splash 😦
It’s exactly that
Still you can work with it
Just change LP to something else
It’s bricked
Hi sorry! I am at work so I'm bouncing back and forth a lot. That build should be fine for most weapons tbh. Desperado will help immensely if you go Knife. Personally I really enjoy the Fold Shovels, Chainswords and Combat Knives. The only awkward choice to avoid is the Devil Claw Catachan Swords. The parry is fun but they struggle as soon as flak bruisers, ragers or really anything above groaners/poxwalkers enter the horde. Kraks will at least offset DC Sword weakness to Crushers though. Also if you use one of the ranged weapons without suppression immunity I would recommend grabbing Determined on the left tree beside Precision Strikes. But you can safely ignore Determined if you grab Shotgun, Helbore or Laspistol. This talent tree should be good for Auric Damnation and Maelstroms since it grabs all the must haves for your standard Vet build minus Voice of Command and gold toughness (though you requested Infiltrate so you still have a good response personal survivability)
Yeah the candle was fixed recently
No more pay to lose candle sadly
wow thank you! I'll be making something out of this tomorrow
I actually like Lethal proximity for the bolt pistol
lethal proximity and run and gun makes it "I wanna hug you gunner wall" kind of gun
I just feel like there are so many other better choices than lethal prox
