Ah yes a SUPERIOR chain axe enjoyer
Another reject of culture I see tips fedora
maybe I should try the Chainaxe IV...
once I have more diamantine to roll one
8 days to Boltpistol though
Gotta be strong
Save the dockets, diamantine and plasteel for the new toys
It’s the better chainaxe imo but it’s still a chainaxe
I wish Chainaxes didn’t have low dodge
I love the Chainaxe XII so I don't mind
It’s just that u trade so much horde clear with chainaxe, it still having low dodge is kinda awkward
Especially since the enemies chainaxes are meant to be good at killing have attacks u rly want to dodge
chaxe IV is for Zealot, XII is for Vet, is how I see them.
XII gets much more juice from finesse bonuses, IV just wants flat buffs which Zealot has loads of
Don’t both of them have pretty low finesse values
xii push attack is pretty meaty
and clubbing with the lights, head hits are important
the iv doesn't give a shit cause 50% of the damage comes from the Shredder proc on light
which you boost with flat bonuses and itll already lock down or outright kill most enemies with a single swing
so hot out i wanna fukken vomit
my entire body is underboob
What’s it looking like in C or F I guess depending which one you want to prefer saying
317 Kelvin
We love Kelvin
who’s kelvin and why is there 317 of him
39c with humidity atm
i was close
it’s the worst with humidity
was minutes away from getting the no-melee damage penance (overwatch) and a rager hit me from behind, getting through my toughness and taking off exactly -1 hp.
me personally i would’ve just dodged it
so true bro
545.6 Rankine @last parcel
I've seen that happen to someone in the jail-sassination and the extra rager/mauler horde that jumps down got the vet after we took down the boss
that is so painful
THIS is so painful
its just so damn inconsistant I have 180 toughness and like, sometimes enemies dont hit off HP? othertimes they do massive amounts
i recenty ran basicalyl jut all of the middel tree + the extra grenade slot from the right part
gotta say this shit was incredibly fun
i regened a LOT of toughness for my teamates
and kept yeeting bombbs nonstop
no survivalist, but fireteam is decent;
especialyl on high intensity since the 5% procs a lot more ofter
sometimes i throw a nade and get one back instantly
or even more in a multikill
that's demolition team
fireteam the aura
oh wrong comment
demolition team + demo stockpile + improv
all the support shbang + nades
hilariouslly fun, "this fucking vet keeps throwing grenades what the fuck"
👌
no i mean litearlly just the middle path
inspiring presence
Unironically pls don’t take +suppression or inspiring presence
Inspiring presence is a hilariously bad node
+suppression is +suppression and supepression is garbage
Don’t take everything in a specific tree
i clearly did
and it goes hard as fuck
tehcnically i didnt need to do that iu know
Well u didn’t
you'd be better off taking for the empruh and competitive urge
even if you went
middle only
suppression node and especially inspiring presence are that bad
also yeah u took +1 grenade you fucking fraud
Btw @bitter turtle check dm
Be like this. Less nerd talk
i needed it!
its just a "pimple" on my skill tree
competitive urge is funy
in the "i dont evne know when it procks or not cause everything is already getting naded/revovlered
I take back all my defense. Not a true mid lover
have u ever throw 3 nades onto a bos
and all of them got the twinned blast?
agrip revolver also goes hard (i tried using bolter but it too cloonke to work)
what do i do with this one
use it to kill heretics
Ghost -> DA
Unyielding -> unarmored
whats unarmored for
congrats
that's actually perfect
if you do what was said above
and dreg gunner 1tap with no crit
or does using that with all the other damage stacking stuff let you onehit something important
oh
maniac doesnt do anything that important, only dreg rager crit 1tap HS
you can 1tap crit flamers with enough boosts on the tree
focus target or rending strikes or w/e
Does vet really need stamina regen cooldown nodes if you already have 2 stamina curios?
xd
longshot
that's normal
you never engage them at point blank range anyway
the gun is one of the most effective long range guns in the game
oh fun
that or focus target if you really need ot kill one at close range
like <8m
otherwise longshot will gap the last bit of dmg
do nets do melee damage over time
5% crit chance or 25% maniac?
iirc
yes
they do a bit of damage over time?
sometimes
just run weapons specialist for guaranteed crit
idk i know sometimes i lie there forever and take none though
not really sure actually]
not consistent enough and only lasts 1 shot
Yes, it’s very strong
oh
did it ruin your on overwatch run
lol
No, you don't need it. Yes, many run it.
i dont know if it counts as melee dmg but if you failed it ig so
Weapons Specialist+ slug
yes or I got hit by something else
i suggest
infiltrate + l ow profile + overwatch for ability
run laspistol with ghost
the moment you take a hit
press infiltrate
you have like 20 seconds of enemies ignoring you lol
you can take toughness dmg but any bleed through dmg will affect you
so at 100% toughness you can take 1 hit
and stll be ok
so just press infiltrate the moment you take a toughness hit
and it should be easy
laspistol + ghost is super mobile and makes you immune to gunners too
and look for a low intensity match
My suggestion: dont do this without a coordinated team. Just run shout + iron will to tank damage and distract enemies and be 100000% more helpful for your team with gold toughness for everyone
ah i see
i forget
xD
its literally a joke
if you have good gear you probably already do more than the rest of your team at that point
since only lowbies play malice
I got it and Untouchable unintentionally just playing the game. I believe both ended up landing in Auric Damnation runs.
Lower difficulties attract less skilled players, generally speaking.
I play malice because decent rewards, not too much stress.
So unless it's a premade, you're gambling.
malice is easily soloable as long as you dont get trapped or dogged
i would not say its easy to solo AM until dogs or trappers show up
you have to kite a ton to solo AM
malice everything is made out of paper and not too dense enemy packs
No, poor positioning can have you die to other things in higher Auric+
you can just shoot them down easy
yes, poor positioning due to trappers or dogs xD
Malice has so much lower plasteel though
DT’s difficulty balance in terms of plasteel payout is really unbalanced
honestly "pure line" specs still rule.
Yes. I've been playing on heresy, but so often people on Heresy are 15-16 and because I can't hard carry unless I'm playing tankgryn or gun-lugger, we die.
I have "pure lines" on every class and they play just dandy.
It really depends on the type of player you are and the experience you have in tide games, I played a lot of the previous tide games and really even auric maelstrom is really just a cakewalk anymore, only really dying once I go cowbunga mode
Or something really unfortunate happens
like ahem, barrel penance
if you're really experienced
AM isnt that hard no
for the avg person though
like
truly avg player
i think damnation is even a struggle
normal damnation
Do we know what the actual average player even palys?
pretty sure most of the population is not playing AM at least
you can very safely assume malice and heresy is average
i figured they’d play space marines or whatever
Well it feels like the average player is playing maelstrom
I can tell you that much
The avg player has 20 hours in the game and gets on to play malice
is that accurate tho
steam achievements sheds a lot of insight
that is the average person who bought the game
not the average player
we're speaking of different averages here
like the average person who plays the game with regularity
what frequency of regularity are you thinking as your sample population?
regularity would be like 2 times weekly I'd say
but there’s no psykers here
did sir milk cook with this one or nah
maybe pick it up for the crafting rework
the what
that's at best a 1/4 perks/blessings wise
stats are good (although you'd miss out on 1 shot in the tube)
hehehe
That is the most bricked shotgun I have ever seen
ok
Jesus hadron
... both
Good
damn it melk you finally got something okay
I only want like... surge 4 on void staff and that's pretty much it I got all the "Meta" blessings or whatever
surge trauma
Today as vet, my entire team died, i had my heavy las pistol and a chainsword, it was me and the horde, i fought surrounded for at least 30 sec, i survvived and raised the team, i feel that i am close to calling myself a god at veteran.
Yeah that's the veteran way. You gotta show them what proper soldiering looks like
They got the magic powers, the inhumane strenghts, the fury of combat. But veterans got the skills
Hence why i always respect veterans
🫡
Lore accurate veteran
I felt like everybody tought i was gonna die, but i showed them.
I was handed this precious child, what do I change on it? Groaners to Maniac, Infernus to Weight of Fire?
The least damage I've ever taken, def improving
mk2 wants unarmored for dreg shooter one taps last I checked
The 2 can also go without weight of fire if you really want to fix the perks
Ok, sounds good! Yeah I wasn't sure if it really needed weight of fire, since it fires so fast. But 25% carapace is really good too right
or nah
Swap Infernus & groaners out
Besides psykanium warrior builds, no
anything else better than weight of fire though?
fuck me this actually cant oneshot scab gunners with light
That’s not a major breakpoint u need though
No respite is primarily for the bayonet
got it lol
It only works when you hit a target that's already staggered
still have zero idea the ones i need
thanks hadron
1 light HS both shotgunner
2 (PA > L4) HS crusher, mauler, bulwark & reaper
2 light HS both rager
What perks do you aim for on the MK1 helbore? Flak maniac?
Elite + maniac
its strange since i can 2 light ragers without the elite
Unarmored + maniac
maybe brutal momentum i guess
But elite helps with bulwark breakpoint and shotgunner
got it, thank you
And it meets the crusher 2 hit on its own
So idk why u wouldn’t want it besides RNG limitations
seems to work without one
guess brutal momentum wp damage boosts it up further
shotgunners just kinda die
Got any tips for not getting hit in a malice mission
depends on what kind of hit
getting hit is inevitable
if you're doing the no melee damage one its just good crowd control really
you can tank one little hit
un-brick
jeez
i think the only major BP i can get
is either with group of ragers
since cleave
or mauler light head 3shot
imma put unyielding and boss meme it i guess
ty
take a sword or something with high defences and just play normally
if you're having problems getting hit its either because hordes are causing you problems or because you don't realize an enemy is hitting you
do you know what the backstab noise sounds like
spam the -90% threat infiltrate, dont get overwatch since that reduces the time you have it on
just stelf from start to finish
and know how to block/push
So basically I block a lot and take everything easy?
know how to play defensivly and not go head in melee whamma or gun blazing
you don't need to be a turtle afraid to fight
i kept playing with people trying to do that penance and every time it was people who did nothing the whole game but block and dodge slide
and never attacked
id take the frag grenade if i were you
I’ll try it, thanks for the tips. The penance was honestly driving me insane
The best I could do for 5 days of straight grinding. lol
At least hadron gave me the blessings I wanted..
Something to keep in mind it doesn't say you can take hits to your tougness as long as its not actual health dmg you're in the clear
So if you want to stack all toughness curios and build specifically around toughness that might help aswell
what are good blessings/perks to have on a hellbore lasgun?
Surgical and Weight of Fire for blessings
tyvm
melk... its almost pre bricked... but its only 1500
yeah currently going unyielding and its treating me even better against bulwakrs, not sure how im oneshotting them with PA
bosshunting is def good with VoC and middle blast frag for now
tyty
Hi I am late but Carapace is very good for breakpoints on the Mk II Helbore for dropping number of shots needed to kill. Depending on talent set up you may need 5 to 7 shots on a Mk II Helbore to kill a Crusher. With the right set up you can kill them in 2 shots. Even without Exe Stance you can comfortably kill in 3-4 shots with the right set up. It's very useful. If you use it with Exe Stance and Focus Target + Redirect Fire then you suddenly no longer need Unarmoured or Maniac perks to get 1HKO Dreg Gunner headshots and both Flamer 1HKO headshots

I'd personally keep it because being able to dome Crushers on a Mk II Helbore in no ammo Maelstrom using Surgical and Shock Trooper is a special kind of magic I adore but for normal play without Exe Stance or Focus Target/Redirect Fire you should follow Numbers Cat's advice
oooo ok
thats awesome
I haven't used the helbore in a long time so I'm just trying to figure things out, I did see you talking about it earlier haha
Voice of Command does not let the Mk II Helbore hit 1HKO Dreg Gunner heads or Flamer 1HKO heads without Exe Stance unless you invest more heavily into ranged damage to compensate
makes sense
It's more dependant on your playstyle to figure out where your usual breakpoints will be
definitely
I just wanted to have some pointers so I don't flub the rolls at least LOL
VoC Vets need those perks, Exe Stance Vets can afford to ignore them and enjoy Carapace for free ammo shots into Crusher heads killing them in 2 headshots
makes sense
While still hitting all the breakpoints that VoC Vets do
Also I just rolled this, I think this is what I needed
Unarmored to Maniac, Sustained Fire to Surgical yeah?
i Remember numbers cat said elites maniac lol
Mk I Helbore breakpoints are less familiar to me so I'd double check with Numbers Cat on that one
I main the Mk II Helbore for usual matches in Aurics and dabble in Mk III Helbore for 1HKO Crusher memes
has more damage p sure
idk why
but in korea we either prefer mk3 or mk1
mk2 gets thrown out cause "low damge"
weight of fire spam from what i know for mk1 as well which is why koreans kinda hate it
Yeah he said Maniac/Elites, so I'll stick that on, chuffed that I managed to somehow roll elites
idk why
I definitely want to try out MKII as well
Mk I has the easiest breakpoints afaik and needs less investment for general play compared to the Mk II
Mk II is just immensely faster
What do you like on the MKii, sneaky? To go with carapace?
that makes sense
I only wish mk3 had bayonet charge I couldn't care less about it being a swing or not
Especially when you get a high damage, high stopping power, high charge rate version with Surgical IV and Weight of Fire IV. The Mk II Helbore is one of the best guns in the game imo up there with Plasma, Zarona Revolver and Columnus Infantry Autogun
breaking my finger i assume
But most will never feel how strong it is because the breakpoints on it are tighter than the other guns so it needs more thought for breakpoints whether you're doing Voice of Command or Executioner's Stance
So your optimal perks change based on your chosen ability and keystone
An extra funny thing
You CAN technically achieve 1HKO Crusher breakpoint with a Mk II Helbore but it requires a Combat Stim
So it ends up being unnecessary to think about
LOL
But for those special moments in no ammo Maelstrom scab only Auric Damnation?
I love it
Get a combat stim and begin 1HKOing Crushers one after the other
And make the team watch me light up the kill feed in Crusher deaths
It's not just Psykanium Fluff if you're a clown who doesn't rely on and never cared about Voice of Command
stab stab stab
Yeah I love the bayonet strike on the Mk I and Mk II
Stabbing hounds, stabbing flamers, stabbing muties, stabbing bosses
i'm loving it so far lmao
It is a very fun weapon
Surgical and Shock Trooper give it such crazy ammo efficiency
If you get Surgical, Shock Trooper, Survivalist's Aura and Deadshot? You suddenly have an infinite crit machine that makes you ammo positive through engagements with specials/elites
I like using Focus Target + Target Down for the extra toughness and stamina restored in pinged kill
Helps keep the team alive by giving everyone nice chunks of toughness restored, keeps stamina high for me and my squad
And that extra stamina just keeps fueling the Deadshot crit train
do you take rending strikes?
I do not unless I am using the Mk III Helbore for 1HKO memes
I would share my build but I am at work and will be here for another 6 and a half hours
no worries lol
Also I feel like I always end up taking Determined so my aim doesn't fly around teh screen when being shot at and shooting back
am I doing something wrong lol
Sometimes I make a funny Close and Kill Aura + Infiltrate with Low Profile build to run with my Mk II Helbore
So I can just comfortably sit back and shoot threats without worrying about the hordes in my face
Stick with team and give constant fire support
Alternate bayonet stabs and shots to keep Agile Engagement buff going
Etc.
It is very funny that the Helbores are one of the few weapons that can realistically benefit from Agile Engagement without swapping to melee
headhunter
:teeth;
god pl;ease
give zealot a melee-ranged hybrid
like hellbore
a proper one not half-arsed ones like headhunters
zealot already has railgun throwing knife
doesn't need anything else tbh
that is fun
like i mean a actual ranged melee
idk
laspistol and a dclaw
on 1 slot
i just wanna fotf charge ans stick a bayonet to whoever im fighting
cuz those 2 are the ones with canonical long-term military experience
like laspistol on one hand dclaw on other sounds fun
if they implement it at all that is
fine at least give me a shield on zealot
Crusader sword and shield yes
bretonian s&s moveset would be nifty
I think what veteran needs is not exclusive weapons that are overpowered or really unique
imo what we need is talents that make veteran distinct at using said weapons
Veteran needs ranged weapons that don’t tank ur talent tree when u want to play them properly
like you could delete onslaught+skirmisher and instead put two talents that synergize with braced/hipfire playstyle, just spitballing here
Besides braced autoguns and shotguns I think this is largely already achieved
If I want for a melee/ranged hybrid thats also ''glass cannon''
I'm better off on a zealot, not on a pure strength scale (I mean its stronger on zealot too but)
its just more fun on a zealot
What exactly even is that
I don't know dog I've been playing charge zealot with any of the keystones
end up with a build thats competent with guns, melee, everything
Are you aware that zealot has like
two keystones that are really good for both melee and ranged
I am truly perplexed by this approach
so does veteran
zealot ones are up without even pressing a button
As compared to say WS or MF
thats the difference
veteran I have to deliberately know what I'm doing
its not a huge differencce
vet takes a bit more awareness
like what I tag, when I tag
or when I weapon swap
meanwhile blazing is free crit non stop
and momentum is like, up at anytime its relevant
and well, I know a lot of ppl do not like martyrdom but its a pretty good risk/reward keystone, its fine
Martyrdom’s only real risk is CDR & lower toughness than normal imo
the problem for vet is general talent offerings and ultimates
I dont think keystones are the issue
I can’t think of many talents on vet where u rly want over keystone
I think the keystones are also an issue because I subjectively don't like them compared to other classes
Put piety on vet and I will take it every time
Depends on weapon but yea
I'd even take lucky bullet from ogryn
Whereas veteran focus target (most general purpose) is just
More dmg, better breakpoints
Granted, that’s prob the most impactful thing u can add to veteran a lot of the time
Given how much u want consistent breakpoints
But you also need to ping for it, which I don't like if I can't do it automatically
I just have muscle memory for it
Every time I see a ping vet while I'm playing my zealot
Everything that gets pinged gets blown up by me first
I tag because it makes headshots easier
It's hilarious, if it's not an autoping setup the kills just get poached nonstop
Well, he doesn’t need to get the kill
It’s not like he has to be the one to get the kill to benefit
The fact that he tagged it and it resulted in the tagged enemy dying immediately is sort of the intended effect
I don’t rly see a problem here
If only Headhunter Autogun bashing did proper damage LMFAO
yea
They should probably up the damage on it and the Revolver pistol whips
it does stupid amount of stagger
but not stupid enough
like agrapina shotgun slug stupid
Revolver pistol whips getting a damage buff would even help that blessing that is currently actually useless
wasnt that supposed to be
worked for actally making melee
I forget what the name is but it shares the same tier as Falter for actually worthless blessings
falter is quite a meme
it can work
but every gun that has it has bad stagger
so it never works
or it should just make any close range kill into a crit
then it'd be possibly op
point blank
That's the one
Falter can work insofar as it can help you stagger things
But it doesn't work insofar as being generally useful, especially compared to alternatives
that means the vets bad
I demolish what I ping within like 0.1-0.2 seconds if not instantly
pinging is what I use to see outlines so I can headshot easier
The problem is more that pinging things ends up being detrimental to your individual performance if your teammates are on the ball. I was aiming for the thing anyway, but him having to ping it first then shoot means I have the advantage of blasting things.
Which is detrimental if you need kills (like with exe or for confirmed kill)
why can't he ping at the same time as he shoots
Or often leads to them wasting shots shooting a dead thing I blasted first
There will always be a delay if you're doing it manually
Even if you put it on a side button or something
Although in fairness it's most noticeable with plasma users
i put ping on right click
Because you ping then fire then your weapon has to charge before actually shooting
I really doubt that
seems just like bad keybind to me
people who don't instinctively tag everything usually has that problem
The difference between autoping and manual ping even if you're really good is in multiples
If autoping is like
0.01
and yea like yuri said, worst case scenario u just bind to same key as m2
Yeah, that's what I mean by autoping
it's really not that big of a deal
the purpose is to remove the tagged enemy asap
it's achieving that purpose
Someone got mad at me for going in and out of stealth constantly
As shroud zealot
Strangely it was an ogryn player who got mad about it in voice chat
LOL
And then me and the other ogryn player started mocking him for it
Yeah this guy was like 'Um why are you PINGING so much, didn't you know you have to BUILD UP YOUR STACKS, you probably watched some tryhard YOUTUBER'
I was like ????
he has a mistaken understanding of the keystone unfortunately
ur not meant to hold stacks on it, ever
yeah lol
I was just like uh ok man
and just finished the match
also
@tall torrent
and then you opened a tab to watch some tryhard youtuber
Look good now?
yes

nice
u should have told him that the keystone is meant to be used without waiting for any stacks
It wouldn't be bad for the game if confirmed kill got nuked and each ult had its own cd reduction tech baked in sorta like zealot
I was too busy hard carrying his ass
most competent QP random psyker
confirmed kill is the toughness regen, you're thinking of tactical awareness
I think at the very least the ping keystone should give you kill credit for talents
whenever a pinged target dies
Doesn't it already do that for its own subnodes?
It doesn't do it for exe stance or tac awareness but I think those two things need attention on their own
does it make bayonet stagger better
I tested Falter IV in the Psykanium on a Helbore Mk III against a Crusher and even if you blatantly ignore every single damage buff to force extra shots on target you cannot use it to stagger a Crusher ever
Even in the absolute worst case scenario of damage and the best case scenario of multiple shots aimed for the stagger threshold you never meet it on them
And on a Mk III? Anything less than an Ogryn is going to get 1HKO'd anyway
Maybe if I test Falter IV on a Helbore Mk II with 0% damage it might be able to stagger a Crusher after 7 shots
Interesting
in other words, falter sucks
try it with the heavy special
Do you mean throwing the bayonet swing into a Crusher
That sounds hilarious and you'd need Rending Strikes or it will bounce off harmlessly
That's a weird but neat use case
Bayonet swing with Falter IV can stagger a Crusher?
and you get fucked
Hidden secret of the Mk III bayonet unlocked LMFAO
also this was headhunter 3
sry not the uhhh
funny bayonet on hellbores
the bash has crazy stagger
Headhunter Autoguns have a much better blessing pool to choose from
They've got Surgical, Deadly Accurate, Headhunter, Ghost
Even Opening Salvo might have more value for certain breakpoints
The gun bash animation and audio are so satisfying
that's a strong gun butt, massive stagger?
You have to charged it to be useful huh
only bash that has a heavy variant
except that it just covers your aim
Here to say;
Shovel is love. Shovel is life.
That is all.
I loved shovel so much, I had all the blessings and trinkets.
I pray to shovel every night, thanking him for the life I’ve been given.
My dad hears me and calls me a karker. I knew he was just jealous of my devotion to shovel.
I called him a psword deep throater.
He hits me and sends me to sleep.
I'm crying now and my face hurts.
I lay in bed, really cold. I feel something warm...
It's shovel! I was so happy.
He whispers in my ear "This is my munitorum."
He grabs me with his sapper handle, and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready.
I spread my standard issue field pack open.
He engages the folding action.
huh
i like pressing fold shovel special in the elevator in intervals. it's like a fidget toy
Opening salvo is great on vraks VII. On the other hh autos only the first bullet gets the bonus if i'm not mistaken.
(btw would love to have as fast opening salvo on lasguns as it is on headhunters...)
it be like this on the daily
Darktide is a dood game
Numbers Cat recommended Opening Salvo on the Kantrael Mk XII for an easier and more consistent time hitting a breakpoint but I can't remember which
"Dead game" is gamer speak for "I don't want to play this today"
I have seen 2 conditions to be met for an actual dead game
1 servers are kaput, can't host anymore
2 it's a struggle to get a lobby going
1 game I had to refund because it met the second criteria was Spacehulk Deathwing
It was a massive struggle to find 3 other players
People get so full of themselves they think they can define when a game is dead. WoW players have been calling it dead for years and even the travesty that was Shadowlands didn't kill it. The only time I see a game as dead is when it literally gets shut down like City of Heroes or Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. Even then those games get revivals in the way of either private servers or a company buying up the IP to restore the game years later
The hardest thing for people to admit is that they have no idea what they're talking about
The game didn't die
Your love for it did
Just move on
It's a game not an ex. There's no need to treat it like one
look on the bright side
it saves you the time of thinking about whether the opinion goes onto the trash or not
This is sponsored by Raid Shadowlegends
see key phrase, into the trash it goes
dead games are stored in the balls
does every curio effect have diminishing returns btw
or is it just the damage resist ones
probably
if you can wade through here, then you can figure what's additive and multiplicative https://github.com/Aussiemon/Darktide-Source-Code/blob/c26228b23b962cb4986350b25e39d6cbdb1d3c73/scripts/settings/buff/buff_settings.lua#L434
it's a good bet that they made reductive effects multiplicative and positive effects additive though
I'd really like to use OS on Mk XII because the damage boost is indeed great but the reset time between shots is twice (or worse) as long vs the headhunters 😖 you have to wait for it unlike on for example vraks VII it doesn't really slow down your RoF. But you know, balance in all things. Mk XII would most likely be too powerful with faster opening salvo 😅
Opening Salvo Helbores please
Make my Helbore Mk III even funnier
🤣
probably broken lmfao
At least give helbore III the the melee of I and II
if we ever get longlas there better be opening salvo
give like caxe damage
so it oneshots most to head
and give brutal momentum on helbores
Or ruthless backstab 🤔
that sounds fun
like aside from nerfing rending blessings
they should give it to more weapons
backstab on other weapons sound fun
infiltrate and helbore charge the crusher back
even if its not really that great
it's about sendind a message
instead of 1-2 shotting your head i choose to stab you in the back 4-5 times
Manstopper Helbores
imagine
uncanny strike thammers
headhunter voidstrike
Any way to make a meta build with Las guns?
I think bullets are a bit out of fashion by 41k
if the sights on lasguns that weren't infantry didn't sit so low on the gun I'd probably use them more
and I simply can't be bothered to use the weapon customization mod
which one
ilas?
laspistol?
and what do you mean by meta
no they wont beat plasma/revolver/ciag
they're pretty good though
Infantry MG La one
ghost/headhunter
Why?
what do you mean by why
as in
how little do you understand the suggestion
and how much do i need to explain
Why those talents?
headhunter blessing gives you crit chance for literally just using the gun the way you're supposed to use it
ghost - makes you immune to gunners so you're excellent at countersniping other gunners
and ghost is just nice
headhunter = its just a somewhat dmg boost in consistency
other ption is headhunter/DA but i dont really think its as good as it sounds
what does max headhunter stack up to again
headhunter is consistent but not reliable when you absolutely need it
25%?
so you cant crit on demand
half the time the DA dmg boost is wasted on a shot that overkills anyway
becoming immune to gunners is a lot better imo
oh right
25% max is the recon one
HH gives big crit bonus and ghost gives immunity when popping heads, which is what you'll be doing a lot with an iLas
What about Mk13?
others like DA or opening salvo arent useful on 1a
The other semi auto las gun
Difference?
mk12 can reliably 1 tap many things with exe stance, 1a will do that a lot but with some exceptions like scab gunners
generally id argue 1a is better than 12
you could use the mk12 without exe stance if you bring opening salvo and use marksmans focus
but generally for all the ilas the safest blessings are HH and Ghost
So keep 1a?
yeah 1a or 4 are the two best picks
perks go for flak + elite
or flak + unarmored I guess works too
I wonder how the red paint job looks like on the las gun
I got weak green vision so the base green paintjob looks more washed to me
Is it a good idea to dump shots into a boss? @serene bough
With infernus yes
Ilas isn't great on bosses or flak body shots
Meleeing a beast of nurgle isn't ideal either
You'd best pair it with a melee weapon that can chip armor
Which are?
You can melee BoN as long as he doesn't puke on you
probably not assasination targets, as their void shields do a ton of damage reduction and prevent things like burn stacks.
for monstrosities and big'uns it tends to be situational but doing some damage is always better than no damage.
He won't eat if you don't have debuff
PS mk6, Rashad, and the combat knives are good options
PS mk6? What's that?
Power sword
ideally if you can smack them with melee that's a good plan. if you're not in a safe spot to do so? shoot away
Its a safe pick
If you value mobility more then try the knife w/ uncanny strikes
Powerswords have poor mobility
A middle ground between the two is the Rashad axe w/ brutal momentum, but im personally not a fan
When it's generally safe to reload?
Are body shots that bad? Usually a moving target is hard to nail in the head so I go for upper torso
Fot example if a boom boom holder comes towards me I go for torso shots since head moves around
make a laspistol melee vet
use your melee for like %80 of the game
put the funny blessing that makes you immune to ranged dmg
I think this also works for psyker
tide games are challenging and require a lot of skill 🤡
Ye that’s what I use
Depends on the gun
Look at the weapon's attack tables and see how big a difference weakspot hits make
On an infantry lasgun it's very significant iirc
Laspistols even more so?
While a recon lasgun (spit) doesn't have that much of a weakspot bonus
Same with ogryn ranged weapons
Also consider that often the head has weaker armour than the body. Often, not always. Maulers are the biggest exception to that rule
But like dreg gunners have Flak body, unarmoured heads
Same on Scab bombers I wanna say?
ye, i can confirm that for sure since i was in meat grinder last darktide session
Flak on scab bomber body, unarmored on their bald heads
noticed it a lil quick cuz alot of my guns got +flak damage
So suppression is a load of crap
Never affects the enemy but always does the player
It does affect them I think, but it's not so noticable
Since usually you kill them before they can realise they're being suppressed
If you try something like the ogryn kickback you can see it in action more
Melee enemies don't care, stalkers don't care, gunners that are shooting don't care
Groaners do a little dance and then proceeds to run at you
Funny
I feel like scabs will take off running but it has to be a pretty big group to notice.
Get a Brauto, use exec to highlight and shoot at them, see how they react
Lasguns smell bad, 1/5 wouldn’t touch
Lasgun Ia can kick some solid ass.
To be fair, I have a crit build for it so +100 weak spot critical damage would of course lead to some good damage
do you guys call that lasgun 1a, or lasgun la, or lasgun Ia
I use I
la cause it sounds funny
La lasgun huh
Never!
For a poster weapon (and backbone of the guard) the lasgun does drain a lot of stamina when sprinting
Besides, if you know how to use it, it can feel like a Zarona
Or, well, as efficient as one
It's I as in the roman numeral for the number one
so it's 1a using arabic numerals
lasguns are good
apart from being stopped by 1mm of organic material
idk why people think infantry las are somehow lacking theyre solid and dependable
they have some clear weakness but overall a solid weapon
Who needs cleave
Cleave is for cowards who wants to take out a conga line of ragers or shotgunner
COWARDS, I SAY
The BIG cleave machines is zarona and plasma
dr robotniks big cleave machine
pushma
i have a decent one
insert Hadron complaining about whiny rejects
-unplugs hadrons AIO from her power supply-
@tall torrent this appears to be false on infiltrate from my experience
going invis DOES drop DH aggro
it shouldnt be
i've killed a couple teammates accidentally that way already
ya it shouldnt considerin that caused alot of tomfoolery via redirecting agro
i swear i read on a patch note where they said they "fixed" that
But DH was buffed to detect invisible
exactly
What the hell
DH does detect nearby invis rejects, yes. but when aggroed already, going invis makes it change aggro from you to sb else
Patch 14
interesting
i swear to all that's holy that i've killed teammates by going invis
like if I'm just playing yknow
and i accidentally bump a demonhost and i have stealth
... im gonna use it lmao
not to run but because its my ability
its a toughness refresh and whatever else
same here. it was never intentional on my end. but it did happen and i felt bad
so anyway i totally have stealthed and let someone else die for my mistake
but i did try to kill it
its mostly annoying that being attacked by the dh is the best way to fight it
bitch is so flighty and pushy otherwise
very obnoxious
constantly feels like you're swimming up a current to land hits
i swear on all that is divine, ive survived many times
hence invis into hitting it
because it does drop aggro and switches to sb else
first chance i get i'm running it into a dh
Good, more data
Are there patch notes? I dont see any on r/darktide. Infiltrate got a buff?
this was months ago
but it seems it got bugged somewhere along the way
Aww. I should have known better than to expect guns or bugfixes.
Warhammer 40,000 Dawn Of War Unit Quote belonging to the Space Marine Librarian.
"Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment."
More sage wisdom from the Librarian.
meh, not always
We literally had bug fixes last patch
But okaaayy
Also why does infiltrate need a buff?
Kinda stinks compared to the other two
The people that say it’s bad aren’t good at the game
Honestly needs a rework
Something like that payday 2 shout revive
I like Infil but I don’t like that both zealot and veteran have stealth - would rather have unique abilities between classes
true, i like them all,
There's only so much you can really do as abilities without getting too op
Or keeping it in lore
I think the poor balancing comes from cd balancing lol
VoC with all the stuff attached to it should be a 40 not a 30
Yeah I have 3 CD buffs and "on elite kill reduce CD" trait and I spam the bajesus out of VOC. just use it when its up
tfw
You press exe
for 5 seconds
on a boss
With a lasgun

It's not bad
It's situational™️
Which is the truth
exe & infiltrate both seem viable & fun. but voc is probably higher winrate
I mean
Infiltrate is actually good
It's the issue of trying to compare
The most POWERFUL BLITZ
With anything else
I once saved someone who was in the middle of dying to a Daemonhost by popping Exe Stance and firing as fast as I could with my Mk II Helbore directly into a Daemonhost face
I think they are both good and fun and if I see a teammate running them it makes me happy
infiltrate the one gotcha is it gets your weaker teammates killed with the aggro dump
I dont run infiltrate but lots of time I suddenly see shitloads of things coming to me when teammate running it. I like the extra aggro as its fun, I'll just hit VOC and kill them.
doesnt make other ults more attractive
the de-aggro is something you need to leverage to give them more advantage than the disadvantage of more enemies on less people
doesn't make yellow toughness more balanced either
if you can't leverage the disadvantage into it actually being an advantage it will always be worse than voc
dropping aggro is the opposite of being useful to your team
its conceptually flawed even if your goal is to shoot enemies, now you stare at their backs instead of their face
why would you shoot with infiltration?
It actually does lol, by making one option worse the other options become more attractive
If VoC had a 2 min cooldown
plush have you ever used infiltrate to a point you knew what to do and when to use it?
I would guarantee you nobody would use it
Please stop acting like its some rocket science ult that only you know how to use
Its literally common sense bro
it's fucking not
If you have to pick between x options
If one option becomes worse the others become better
just because you cant use infiltration right, does not mean you have to spread misinformation
Its not complicated. Its a game use the one you find fun.
I mean
Then you could say Shroudfield is the same
And please stop acting like a sanctimonious fuck and speak properly. Dont be an asshat
Dropped aggro
practical applications for infiltrate:
- play gameboy
- play ''combat medic'' as you revive people that died over the aggro you dumped on them
- pretend that it lets you setup ambushes or whatever aka larping
You just have to know how to use it
Why would I use infiltrate
Soley to play for revive
And not for the damage portion
Or the Toughness refill
I mean people use infiltrate for one shot big numbers fun -- who doesnt love that? -- and hero res moments
Infiltration run
People playing video games how they enjoy? How dare they.
shroudfield is used to nuke bosses and the like
This isnt allowed
No this isnt allowed
No fun
You can't play the ''don't touch my fun'' card after playing the ''you don't know how to use it'' card bruv.
pick a fucking side
Feel free to quote anything i said
You're literally making shit up now
who gives a shit if anybody larps an infiltrator? roleplaying is the most fun you can have in a game by far and wide (else we wouldn't have cadian personalities)
LOL
Playing darktide is better than being a toilet servitor
you clearly fall in to both category
Depends on how someone uses it. If you use the time with low aggro to dump your ranged damage into threats without fear you can clear the room and make it much safer. Instead of needing to kite ragers and find a moment swap to your ranged weapon while still kiting those ragers to shoot at the three snipers and the incoming trapper across the room you can infiltrate stealth, kill the trapper, kill the snipers and then line up shots on the ragers to wipe them all out ASAP. If someone just hits infiltrate and hides then they're failing to use the opportunity to help the team
Anyone got a good Infiltrator build?
i was the one who said to not use infiltrate if you don't know how to
lemme hop to vet

well shit
