My best shovel is actually Thrust 4 Limbsplitter 4. The Crusher instant kill is funny and it can kill a charging mutant with a folded light instantly but otherwise Limbsplitter doesn't do too much. It's mostly funny to delete Crushers in 0.1 seconds.

I can one-shot without. What limbsplitter does is make it so it one-shots on the first tick of the folded heavy. Crusher dies instantly and you don't have to do the pull out animation. Like I said it's mostly a meme with no big benefit aside from killing one Crusher 0.2 seconds faster or something.

Hmmmm just tested in the Psykhanium and my shovel does indeed kill in one folded heavy without limbsplitter. But it needs every damage buff. 10% and 5% melee nodes, desperado, 30% weakpoint damage and both 15% elite damage and 20% ogryn/monster damage and even Rending Strikes. Could probably drop Rending Strikes if my shovel had 80 First Target instead of 77. But who knows. It's a lot of investment. With Limbsplitter this becomes the funny one-tick kill.

The above message is not considering crits btw. With a crit you probably get a good amount of leeway.

Yeah the Crusher instakill helped me a few times. Also the folded light Mutie instakill is actually the effect I noticed more. If you time it right you can kill a charging Mutie without dodging. If you have space you can use a heavy attack instead and still get the instakill but this time it does so much damage you don't even need to hit the weakspot. Mutant bodyshot instakill.

It's fine, a mix seems to be preferred but it can work fine if you play well around it.

Block efficiency is generally not used but if you struggle with dodging and need to block to stay alive you could do that. You'd preferably want to get good at dodging rather than do that though. Stam regen is generally not needed unless you're trying to optimize a deadshot setup.

Most people will just opt for a +3 stam curio rather than invest in block efficiency.

Just keep in mind that weakspot/crit damage are massively worse than they seem. The damage only applies to the bonus damage of the crit/weakspot hit, not the whole hit.

Not useless, but much more situational and always less valuable than straight damage.

If you do 100 on a normal hit, and 110 on a weakspot hit, you should do 120 with 100% weakspot.

So my friends each play an ogryn with a big boom grenade and a Psyker with the dagger things. Im usually the one that has to take out priority targets but I feel like I always have to fill in and do a lot of crowd clearing which o struggle with with my commissar bolter build

Tend to not charge anyways, when using blaze away. Get's hot is good against bosses/monstrosities.
