Assassination is either a complete beat down 90% of the time or the rare times it becomes a cluster fuck with monstrous specials

btw if you weren't already aware, good method to do this is to do a Malice run when you ring the bells for the first time - that 'unlocks' the teleport bells which will then appear at the start of the level every time, on every difficulty.
so you don't have to trudge through the whole 15 min. level or whatever every time you attempt hard mode
(you have to do the bells, then WIN the fight to unlock teleport)

I would say dumdum. Ghost can be good too. It isn't that it's slow that Infernus isn't great. It's that it kills the enemy quickly so the stacks don't do much.

I'd recommend changing both perks to flak/maniac instead. Terrifying barrage is useless garbage, but you already have dumdum and the second blessing will be less useful than having optimal perks.

Rending/Brittleness adjusts your armor damage modifier.
Armor Damage Modifier is the damage you do to: Flak, Maniac, Unyielding, and Carapace.
Say a weapon does 200 damage to unarmored but only 100 to flak. That is an ADM of .50 on flak. +15% rending gives you .15 on top of that .50 making it .65
200x.65=130 or a 30% damage buff on flak.
