#veteran-class

Idk why they ever nerfed Shock Trooper
Recon wasn't even OP with it prenerf
It was just
useable
something something nerf recon
for the first time in many patches
they nerfed literally everything that synergized with recons
it's so weird
nothing was spared
Shock trooper does work with recons still, it's just only on the first crit on the string. So it has massively reduced effectiveness even without factoring the crit string reductions. 1/5 as good on the 6d now.
such a headscracher man
As far as I can tell, if you use the high damage one, you can still get shock trooper to work with it
By tap firing
tap firing a recon...
sharpshooter vet not a rubic cube gimmick bs enough as it is
stand still to get damage stacks
manage volley fire manage deadshot manage marksman stacks
It works with all of them, it's just hard to see because of faster fire rates
do a tiktok dance for ammo
see here
Vet is so exhausting to play
I had a 4 man veteran squad on a maelstrom
meanwhile gunpsyker I press a button and I have damage and crit chance now
Ogryn is Ogryn
Vets gotta jump thru hoops to do what other classes do as a passive
Try the bayonet build. It is straightforward
No other class has as many "% chance you might get something" talents dawg
Guardsmen build is straight forward enough
The closest you get is Warp Charges THAT ARE GUARANTEED ON ELITE KILLS
just ignore keystone š
Bonus crit chance is good
just ignore all the nerfs that happened for keystones 4head
I crit every other shot with it
Recon lasguns should be burst fire
eww
Infantry lasguns should have select fire
Just a reminder Psykers have this talent, while Veterans have to do a Tiktok dance with their dodges for anything comparable, or suffer from arrhythmia, anemia and a stroke using Deadeye for something barely as good.
Like they do in lore
Wouldn't be any reason for recons to not be select fire as well then
give kantrael las burst fire while at it then
would be cool if Recons just became 1 gun and you could cycle thru 3 power modes
there is a burst las in lore lol
it fucks
I would love it
People would just use the best one
I really do wish we'd get a variable fire rate lasgun
I'd love some burst fire lasguns
Deadeye is nice, more accurate Mg1A or MG12
gee it's a good thing they're perfectly balanced being split into 3 different weapons then
that's certainly better
And it synergies well with the blessings I have
Idk why they have like 3 semi auto variants
swapping from single shot to burst for a heavy target?
its all samey and boring and kantrael might aswell be unusable without full auto mod
Lucius lasgun makes sense to be semi
2 hours into a session and my fingers are hurting
that cant be good for long term health
They just need to make them actually distinguished and also not dogshit. I KNOW they can do it, like with the headhunter autos or the helbores.
They're choosing not to
quick say the words
Wait until you see laspistol gameplay
immeasurably comp-
Some guns can stay bland
or lasgun shotguns
Infantry auto and Lasguns are okay with being the basic ādo nothing specialā guns
I want a hivegang lasgun that lets you set it to stutter-las mode and magdump like a boltgun
I mean, IAG's are actually finesse weapons with fairly high recoil as opposed to generic assault rifles
I agree that not all guns need specialty gimmicks though and you can have more generic stuff
The bullet magnetism is so intense the high recoil does not matter

Why does the Helbore just feel like miles better than any other ranged weapon? Even without the lasgun crit perk you like never need ammo in damnation and compared to the revolver having to constantly jam in 5 rounds it just seems way faster too
It's a very strong gun line, only downside is the swap speed
Also surgical is nuts and shock trooper with it is even better
at like level 5 i tried the helbore, felt that swap speed, and wrote it off as trash for eternity
God I love surgical, that feeling of charging up a shot and aiming for a couple seconds at the reaper or bulwark youāre about to one shot
with how bayonets are right now, helbores are lit af
been noticing some charging issues with the 2 since the new patch tho which ruins the shooting a bit for me
I assume fatshark has weapon analytics, and their only thought to the helbores having a comparatively low playrate is that they're weak. Not that they have a niche playstyle that can feel very awkward to use. Therefore they must constantly get buffs despite being much better than many other guns.
yeah i agree. my issue with the swap speed is exactly that, my issue. i know its a great weapon
just too slow
tbf the other gun options are insane rn
Well, some are. Ciag, revolver, plasma
Graia and agri iag are meh though, same with columnus and graia brauto
There's a few standouts in other lines, but it's hard to find other lines where all the guns are consistently good
just gotta wait for heavy plasma variant š
Still waiting for the hotshot volley gun
i don't know if it would make sense, but i would like to see a m1911 pistol or something like that
stub pistol lets go
Pretty sure there was a stub pistol that looked exactly like one in a codex at some point
I remember seeing a picture of it
somebody has it somewhere round here
Stub guns or slug guns are a name that refers to a wide variety of low-velocity, high-calibre pistols.
gimme gimme
the blessed 1911 as crafted by Archmagos Browning
Not sure if it has been brought up yet. But supposedly marksman focus keystone includes old camo expert threat reduction
Yep, someone mentioned as long as you have one stack
So that one talent that gives stacks is great
Yes although this is just one person's look at the code, not sure probably need more testing
any threat reduction for a vet is great
but if it's a full 90% reduction for just having a single stack, damn
how is threat generated
if it is, how has nobody noticed when playing?
feels damn good when I run it, so yeah
Can it replace confirmed kill?
Or run both, since Close Order Drill is connected to CK
depends on how much you want
I've been wading into shooter rooms fairly comfortably with them together + Iron Will
too starved for points to try this unfortunately
how dumpy is mobility? š¤
Is stopping power important on a Columnus inf autogun? I wanna go for a weakspot crit build with either it or the Helbore Mk.3 and am not sure which one to go. Should I roll for a Helbore or do I keep the great Columnus I have with a 50% stopping power and everything else above 70?
you can inspect the weapon to look at the stat breakdown
stopping power's kinda important imo
that'll only BE* a problem when you're trying to dodge while shooting, so you could try playing around that limitation
replace it when you can tho
got it ty fren
You lose a Dodge at below 50% mobility but this is the bolter anyway so it shouldn't matter much
id say keep the columnus unless you want the elephant gun experience
wait, bolter player dodge ?
With the Helbore it's a must to take executioners stance, no? For that 100% headshot crit?
with the 3? only for 1 shot breakpoints on ogryns iirc
Eh
It's not a must
Honestly the instant swap is nicer than anything else for taking exec lol
executioners doesn't give you crit chance last I checked
It's just more damage
I know, it's more for the one-shot-kills
Should I instead run something like a power sword or a catachan sword for horde safety/rapid swap?
Ah, the question was a bit unclear, my bad
I run it with power sword for horde clearing
it even makes the mk3 bayonet decent
I run executioners stance because I can't make out enemies otherwise
imagine if executioner stance marking all ranged and special+ enemies for team work with middle keystone
Imagine if stance just highlighted stuff and didn't require 4 extra points lol
I mean, now it's length is tied to how many highlighted enemies you kill, no? I tested it out a bit and on some chains it recharged before the previous activation even ended
stance should highlight stuffs and modifiers should give like piercing bullets
or something
so Ogryn doesnt screw up my ability
Buffing it even slightly would kinda screw up the whole purpose of the ability, no?
It becomes more useful the more shooters and specialists there are
obviously but the frustration is the tax
If you're really all that down for critical strikes doubling down into the left tree usually gives the breakpoints. Idk what your build is or what others runs but I don't think you have to invest super heavy into left tree to get breakpoints for aurics
ok either that guy who said left keystone gives you -90% threat is lying or I'm generating 10 times more threat than my team
it should either be a targeting aid or notānot needing 4 points to give it comprehensive coverage
You might be doing it at the wrong times.
The lowered threat works consistently for me.
threat reduction is an infiltrate thing.
Idk the full range of behavior but on average I'm not getting aggro
I've been helping friends level so I've been on lower difficulties lately but when I'm popping infiltrate and getting out, I'm usually positioned inconveniently for goons to be forced to path if it doesn't work. Running weapons that excel in suppression is another thing you can try passively with stealth builds for added defense.
Assuming you're not drowning in carapace goons or something g
Or getting hit by moves that you're in the path of.
I finally got a columnus that's solid. Nothing great for the blessings by their tier alone but it works. Has suppress on close range kill iirc. In dense hordes I can just make a slowly bulging hole in hordes and the ms with it isn't bad at all.
Add that with the minus threat and weapon specialist and it's a banger.
PS silly
im just gonna assume the rest of the team was holding hands and jumping in circles

so if I wanna use the funny helbore melee
mk2
do I just grab any weapon with limp/bm?
reckon the bigger bayonet does more damage
They aren't talking about infiltrate
Supposedly marksman focus keystone has the old threat reduction effect tied to the stacks
Supposedly
According to someone who looked at the code
Anything I can do to improve this?
Do I need to place the deployable for this to work or can anyone place it?
You
It's trash, skip
it works for all
if you deployed, yes for all
if not, you can take you own anyway
Taking bad nodes...in this economy?!
As long as anybody in coherency has this upgrade, everybody benefits from it
Itās an extremely clutch node in the right circumstances
Itās good if there is the modifier that gives +2 nades and there is an Ogryn using nuke
I think it doesnt affect corruption from being downed

Its always a āfuck yeah this guy has itā node
It heals up to the nearest wound
Like zealot aura
You canāt rinse corruption beyond the current highest wound
Its such a clutch thing and dopamine producing thing to see equipped on an ally
well no wounds for me
I dont get enough free stats to casually throw wounds in my build
Field Improvisation is super trash if someone picked up a Grimoire tho
But god, refreshing grenades overshadows it hard
But in this moment, that's not a good option.
Couse FS just nerf max deplorable in map
basically 2 ammo box and 1 medic pack is maximum number that can be found
Not exactly
It allows u to heal back up to full 1 wound if the grimoire corruption makes u go under
at this rate shredder frags will start to heal enemies next patch
and stun your allies
Theyre still good
Whaaaaat, I think the very niche buff that sometimes helps is much better than getting a free grenade ever 60 seoncds which allows you to just delete a caprice enemy /s
they have been consistently getting nerfed
Clutch at massive hoard clearing
What if field improvisation just give you a freebie deployable instead would it be worth it
But the 1 makes them made of paper
So powersword can just cut trough them
Unpowered mind you
I think it should extend the max heal amount from medkits
Also grenade tinkerer can make the frags kill with 1 if im not mistaken
But thats a 2 point tax im not paying

I'm not taking grenade tinkerer on a sharpshooter vet
I cant even afford grenade regen if I want keystone lmao
Tinkerer is a hard 2 point justification in most builds that use frag
Just go all in shredder pick up onslaught and let the bleed proc the debuff and feel like a god!!!! For like 2 seconds then your outa grenades
Im going no keystone mk5 auto build and its rockin now
Only ogryn, zealot, and psyker are allowed blitzās that can one hit whole hoards
Screw keystones just like before

It feels weird playing other classes and having to think where to put your spare talent points
Theres a node that grants +50% supression
Add more taxe points to other classes.
Balanced
Ranged
I dont have that issue on psyker i want the goodies but sadly i miss maybe 1 node of something š¦ its a pain i never feel on my vet
I dont want to suppress my enemies I want to fucking kill them

It arguably hurts you to take that node
There is a blessing that make suppressed enemies take more damage
Because on my vet i miss out on 50% of the things i want so its less painful than missing out on one
Its only 20%
And well, ogryn aura I guess
you know what else makes enemies take more damage?
headshots
so stop fucking suppressing them
so I can hit headshots
š
We need to remove headshot stagger on gunners
We as a society need to accept that gun headshots staggering gunners is cringe
at least psyker smite stuns them in place so you can run up and butcher them saving ammo
Very rarely tho is it useful
On a ranged weapon against melee enemies, yes
On a ranged weapon against ranged enemies, no
Its useful for sharpshooter vet
very rarely do I get to trust people to watch my back for 0.2 miliseconds
First shot is a better blessing than no respite
right side keystone vet very fun have to say
Its the most consistent keystone in terms of letting you solo carry games
focus mark good and all but if your teammates are potato tier buffing them aint doing much
Paired with these weapons
I usually run marksman focus so was a nice change of pace
It works for every placeable, as long as you have it - anyone's kits will work with it. Very very strong pick, and anyone saying otherwise is doing a bit.
after hearing its pretty much camo expert on steroids
I gave it a try again
its hard mode vet imo
you have literally no defensive options other than ET
Why buff my team when I can buff myself? /s
I still think its silly that stacks are lost by moving instead of missing shots
just really bizarre but then again for the billionth time its the brain child of camo expert gamers
the thing I like about stacks is that even if the uptime isnt always there the stacks will always be useful when they are needed
aka there is enough situations where you can max stack with camouflage
2 headshots and stand still for 2 seconds
and you are at max almost
the threat reduction thingy is
more valueable
than the entire keystone
for sniper weapons anyways
whatāre the ideal revolver blessings
yea I run exe stance marksman focus so no threat reduction for me
@frank ether
build is super squishy but very rewarding if you can pilot it
keystone has it built in
apparently
if you have any stacks at all you're given %90 threat reduction
have you felt the purported threat reduction yourself
or so is the rumor anyways
The old camo expert is supposedly baked into sharpshooter keystone?
IDK about that one...
I'll have to try it out
I have never heard anyone notice it before that claim was posted
I just had this game today where trains of ragers and crushers ran past me in a tight staircase lmao
^@ Guardsman
Ragers have priority targets, like trappers and dogs.
They will ignore you if they didn't spawn 'focus' you.
they were very nice
666K damage
this is proof camo expert is evil
I have math to back up my argument
What argument, and what math?
if it's anything like classic camo expert, it should allow us to stand in front of a horde and melee with no risk by dumping all the aggro on our allies
^
I need more testing
I'm not %100 sure and I was eating that game so didnt pay much attention
I need teammates that wont run off to test it
Camo expert was for all things. Like I said, a lot of single target elites and specials will focus on people. Ragers focus people who are closer to their spawn, typically... And will only change focus after a certain amount of damage.
ragers and muties tend to obsess over you
sometimes even when invisible
and not drop focus til their attack is done
Ragers and muties will /always/ pick one person.
So using them as evidence that camo expert exists is not good evidence.
It's mostly consistent. Only times when it won't really work is if you've already hit it as something is fully committing to a swing. That's been the case for a while. Bonus points if there's someone close to you, you poof, the target switches and you haven't moved at all yet.
I've also seen crushers run past me
do I swap out surgical to get a chance at IV or do I take it as is and keep upping
I regret not recording it now
Executors also like to focus one person. Have you seen bulwarks do it?
Like I said, most single target elites and specials will focus people
Ragers are just the most 'focus' of the elites, and dogs and trappers are the most 'focus' of the specials.
Bombers, flamers, bulwarks, gunners are the only ones who don't have a tendency to focus.
You'd be better off observing whether or not shooters or hordes focus others over you when you're right there.
and even then, it has to be a big group because sometimes they'll do it anyways.
I feel like talking will only lead to nitpick and guesswork
important what were you eating
I might aswell record a game
keep as is, don't make any changes yet
veggie spagetti with meatballs
were the meatballs also veggie
non
They wouldn't be "meat"balls at that point would they?
alright
unarmoured III and infernus III
also going overkill on garlic with the tomato sauce makes for a really good sauce
never enough garlic
That's cuz there's no such thing as garlic overkill
Lies made by big flavor
To keep you closed off
yeah and pretty healthy too
Yeah, no such thing as too much garlic.
do I swap unarmoured to +flak and infernus to onslaught?
alright Infernus has got to go to make way for Onslaught. After that you can pick either perk to change to Maniac
mk1 helbore or mk2?
mk1
Depending on your talent setup, your Unarmored would let you keep 1 headshotting dreg gunners
may i ask why?
If infernus was spicier for helbores I'd consider it tbh
i can see surgical and infernus stacking pretty well
in theory yes but in practice infernus doesnt add too much
I'm trying to do a tanith inspired build and I'm doing combat knife + infiltrate, already stacking bleeds with knife
idk im just built different
infernus would just mean another dot
more shots downrange is just more useful
especially with the gunner hordes yes
it's true, more shots at full power
infernus only racks up on like bosses
but even against like bosses or ogryns
faster refire still more useful
the burns dont affect your time to kill in the end
What gun are you running?
talking about helbore mk3
give chip damage while running for your life
and general lasgun usage
Been experimenting with a lot of infiltrate since I've been loving it since it became real.
I think the only case for infernus is... recon las?
like its low enough dps that infernus might help
good on the 1a as well
Wouldn't know. I don't run infernus yet.
I've been running overwatch modifier cause damn it's way more useful to just have it when you need it
I tried helbore 3 with no respite, infernus, onslaught
Infantry lasguns don't need it but I'm sure they feel nicer with them.
surgical is always a must have for me
but I experimented with different blessings on second slot
Is infernus proccing only on crits or something?
allows some 2 tap kills on ragers even with scuffed perks
yeah that's what it does
Flak ones or all? I usually can 2 hs them
and if u crit u can get some 1 tap body shots on most specials
Idk my breakpoints shit just happens.
Its 4 stacks of burn on crit for helbores and infantry las
would u say pinning power is mandatory here? the perks kind of suck š¦
so no crit no infernus
Gor you
typically more the default ragers not flak all that often but u can just do headshot crit body shot so on so forth
Got you.
when u proc the burn it just allows u to body shot for saftey
i'd change both perks, your blessing setup is fine
Infernus is generally not recommended on infantry las, or anything but recons and laspistol (due to its very high innate crit rate).
But my stance pops usually last minutes on higher difficulties since I'm playing cookie clicker at that point
And I'm cycling them almost constantly on better auric runs.
never us exe stance alway voc for me š
In general the only justification for it on infantry las would be if you're taking onslaught (talent) as the burn applies stacks
Couldn't be me.
maybe it should apply 6 stacks on crit for infant las* and helbores
I hate voc.
so with 2 crits you cap it
not played my 1a that much since the tree rework
I can usually tell when a wave is about to spawn behind because i've just started using exec stance
but with the new focus target u can hit all the old 2 tap breakpoints anyway
That'd make it better, but the problem with it is that those guns are usually prioritizing one shot/headshot tactics and thus even with more stacks it's a nonfactor for most things.
If I can kill in two crits anyway, that infernus isn't doing dick
I run exestance with yellow ping just because. In normal 4s and 5s I take the full highlight cuz...yeah mfkers sometimes need extra help even after all this info dumping I'm doing off of my f key
It would have its use if the burn was enough to finish off breakpoints that are just shy or if they had better penetration
i just put on collumnus and proceed to murder everything before its a problem
if they cant see a crusher nothing is saving them
Eh, relying on the burn to finish off targets will be very inconsistent. You could just take another direct damage blessing so you don't miss it altogether.
I think the dots should have better pen though
Just trying to brainstorm some ideas to put value into DoT blessing
Yeah that's fine. I clear shooters before engagements settle on average. For newer players or just ppl I'm not really trusting will be on task with stuff that matters more in the moment, I just give them the information while yellow pinging ogryns or something. Makes it a lot easier to know where the slack will get picked up by me kind of thing.
Only recently got a columnus
Loving it but I run it more on infiltrate builds because I just won't play titanfall.
either giving the infernus penetration or letting it proc on nearby targets when infernus debuff target dies could be interesting gameplay
or it could be overpowered/underpowered, Idk
An old idea of mine was that infernus could consume its remaining stacks on kills and do some kind of aoe explosion/dot transfer to another target.
yeah exactly what I had in mind
i guess this one is bricked?
thats a cool idea
and it could be visually expanded on
just turn enemies into red mist
Still sick over seeing posts about how yellow ping isn't worth it because "it's hard to keep pinging with high stacks".
not really u can put a close dmg perk on it and put maniac on it
and keep stripped
But then it'd be 3/4 scuffed, you can salvage it though
2nd perk on collumnus really doesnt matter tbh
Ranged spec> maniac
Probably punishing to dumdum
You could do a galaxy playstyle with weapon specialist lol
most of the time ur bursting stuff before it gets anywhere near u just those few moements a muty get close dum dum just helps u shred em
Reload after every Salvo then swap to melee.
2 of the 3 keystones for vet are strong for the reasons you won't notice by just reading the keystone description
Another simple adjustment would be to just make it apply stacks on non-crits and more stacks on crits.
I just can't be told that putting witch hunter ping on mercenary Kruber as anything but a boon. Fuck a max stack, you know? Bitch ping--PING! Always ping when you can.
Where my head was at at the time.
I'd like that, yeah. I mean I'd also like deadly accurate to apply a smaller damage buff for non crit headshots, but thats just the opportunist in me.
I guess it doesnt need any help the same way infernus does though
the amount of people i have had with left click ping this patch makes me wanna mute my game
Alright, my best overkill dmg so far is 900k+
Idk anything about that but I do think it's funny that has been a thing.
I ping what I shoot at for visibility reasons alone
the outlines makes it much easier in darker maps
playing years of fps I'm just addicted to Q spam
Oh absolutely. One of the best things is outline ping as a mechanic for specials, elites and monsters is great. Can't not see it at that point unless maybe there's vision issues or something and that's different at that point.
why does it feel like columnus mk v does more dmg than brauto? even tho it has half dmg?
just can get very annoying specially when the game sometimes overwrites the focus ping
I play helbore and things are far away sometimes
its not exactly easy to nail headshot after headshot when you're shooting at ant sized targets through cover and stuff
but one tag and the head outline is now clear
but also when people have eyes and just see a giant red skull on the enemy sometimes making it harder to kill them
just kinda wish i could disable them tbh
the pings i mean
I just exit mission when I get the vet that pings targets every millisecond
Mk5 Columbus is bis
its like they use an autoclicker
they bind it to lmb probably
That's some other shit.
easy to solve with a small cooldown added to it
i did know a few people that bound it to a mouse macro that spams it
its just people binding ping to fire button
I know what it is it doesnt make it any less annoying
Yeah no they don't need to do a cool down, just not allow it to be on primary fire bindings.
First people say no one pings enough then when people ping 300 times in 10 seconds all of a sudden its to much
then you have people putting on an autoclicker macro @spark helm
just add the damn cooldown
my ears
is when it makes a horrible noise when pings are done
There's a difference between reasonable pinging and the spammed ping. That's actually annoying and for some, that's worse than annoying for any kind of sensory shit
vet chat
occupying more audio samples a game has issues with
Idk
was it rashad
The thick one
Atrax mk 5 is considered bis
I think
Rashad is okay but weaker moveset arguably
u guys think colomnus mk or brauto is better?
I want limbsplitter&bromentum axe
Column is bis
rashad requests ur location
only one option and that is the chain axe obviously
fucking heretic
Columnus is solid.
I need it for helbore bayonet dfvkgds
Period.
It wont see a lot of use
making a weapon for a mechanic likely to get nerfed
if chaxe had bromentum I'd make one

I'll enjoy it before its gone
Chainaxe makes its own momentum
when its nerfed I plan to drop helbore altogether
With slaught and headtaker combo
I like Chainaxe but don't like the commitment on revved attacks in hot moments.
Just make a whatever axe and put bm and limbsplitter on
shovel go brrr
mk v?
this
But that's just those weapons, nothing else really to it.
Yes.
Sprint on Rev is crazy actually
If you have perks available, +2 stam and carapce
Infested unyielding for axing those beasts questions
Cuz bayonet has a hard time vs carapace
?????????
why woujld you bayonet the carapace

On the axe
Someone showed off some video that speaks to the contrary. Idr how they did it.
To show it whos boss
On helbore you put unyielding and 2nd might vary
helbore just goes based on the mk
Genuinely hilarious.
Mine is unyielding+maniac. Blessing are whatever
in case you missed it
mk1 is typically elite + flak i think it was mk2 is crit chance + mutant and mk3 why would u use mk3
tl;dr marksman focus has hidden camo expert baked in as long as you have at least 1 stack
likely a bug tho right xD
it seems to be intended, the guy who discovered it found the same exact code used by camo expert
"intended"
Could be one of those things that they just allow to be as is.
They've done it before.
Positive oversight kind of thing. Idk
Throwing stuff at the wall
tried the perk a few times but more weakpoint dmg on something like a helbore or even a lasgun in general just doesnt really help it personally
Rof and headshot damage
This game doesn't have sam fisher jockeys like l4d2 they gon b fine lol
Rof?
only thing i liked about markmen is the toughness regen
rate of fire
bayonet time
honestly this sudden revelation that focus gives you camo expert is enough to make me consider it
oh yeah maybe, was thinking maybe dumdum had something to do with it too
just still lacking something to me over other nodes u can get in other trees
like iron will so on
Iron will only finds itself in my talent setup when I want to play infiltrate.
It's definitely nicer especially with exhilarating takedown working now.
isnt that still bugged xD
no more
No it got hotfixed.
fixed it in latest hotfix
about fucking time
It's stupid in combination with everything like it was before.
And again, makes middle tree builds even safer than they already are
then ye ill do marksmen helbore/lasgun again
have you tried columnus left tree ? the focus stacks give it better breakpoints on pretty much anything
You can still dip into them.
bleed nades grenade tinkerer feels much better imo
I am still not convinced that exil takedown is useful in pratice
At least for 60 nade and 5% dice on spec/elite kill
Middle tree is safer. Who cares if you need an extra hit if you survive so much better?
People that want to be even safer
born leader with all the toughness recovery in the middle tree just makes more sense
And for people playing with the talent that gives everyone toughness off your toughness generation.
That would rely on the idea that born leader is somewhat good
and with 8 stacks u get dmg bonus with focus target maxed to hit very good breakpoints
Which one is born leader again?
you ally replenish 15% of the thoughness you recover
Yeah that one is good wtf? Not as a standalone
It is trash
Okay. :^)
i find it nice tbh š
very small chance to brick, i'd say go for it
I just watch people's toughness jump up no matter that when I take it in combination with the other coherency radius friendly perks.
š
I've been looking for a good headhunter for a while and got this as a mission reward
Just turn the squad into a mistake manager
Closest thing to a combat medic in this game with how I play with it.
its more a value over time if i can avoid it i would for more nade stuff or takedown or even onslaught but i just cant with the current skill tree
so even it its a matter of 15 toughness to allies
I would say that it's not an interesting strategy though unless you like microplay
that can mean fully recovering their toughness to survive a pox burster
when my voc is active
Yeah, that's one of the goofy utilities of voc.
Mistake manager
Or director denier kind of thing.
was much stronger before tho
To me it's meaningless.
Veteran is already a cornerstone of design space for this game and middle tree just mostly focuses on providing you with things that make that passively strong presence veterans have even stronger.
They could chip away what efficacy as much as they want, the game itself as it works can't allow middle tree veteran to fail overall.
i mean thats a no diff argument with exe stance tho being able to see litterally everthing
had a few people get upset with me when i naded 4 chaos spawns 2 ogryns and shouted them all off the map
That gives it a stability that's only overcompensated and outpaced by classes that focus harder into other branching forms of play and all
but im like i could have done the same thing as ogryn
Precisely.
what do ppl run on this thing again
Ogryn is the one that's going to have on average all the means to be immediately efficient at crowd control requiring more stagger breakthroughs on average since so much of the class just has it.
That and firepower from what I've seen and been told with certain popular builds.
I think people just don't run this thing
is there a major role difference between the mkI and the mkIII helbore?
Yes
mk3 hit harder but slower
Mk1 shoots fast and hits less hard
They don't run it at all because it's TRASH
Does this really work? I didn't notice enemies running past me with Focus stacks
I want me mk2 on the mk3
I want to krieg even more
Wait, kriegs would just pick mk2
Also ladies and gentlemen
I dont know krieg, I just know how to make a silly bayonet build
Silly ah ee bayonet charge
With a shovel
Tis the krieg
I think we have different definition of silly
My definition of silly is bringing in my bayonet build into auric
Mine is making it working
weapon training for bayonet crits
Did you just finesse the entire build?
It benefits from certain blessings on your melee weapon, resulting in ridiculous damage output
Welp incoming hotfix
yeah I can see why
Wtf
You can get mediocre clear if you stack power blessings and only use heavy attacks
But it has slow heavies
It's just not a good weapon
Slow and with the range of an Axe
i love reddit misinformation spreading like wildfire and confusing people:))))
I am cheating obviously
its not even a cleave rev its just locking on a single target
it's backwards from the usual chain archetype
My favorite is still shanking a vrusher for 50 damage each

limbsplitter and brutal momentum on the melee. It apparently benefits from but does not consume the limbsplitter.
And getting that stupid crit multi that is inherent from the helbors
I remember when chaxe could ohk crushers
You would do that? Spread misinfo on the internet?

Seriously though, the build breakdown is here https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9ab4625e-17ea-4457-a4bb-b7d6ad8d3e18/melee-bayonet-veteran-1212
No fucking way
why doesnt this get a rework lmao
Surgical still applies?
Next week tm
Who decided to make surgical apply for stabs
What perks do I want on a DC sword
I don't use surgival for stab
Well then... time to waste that 1k plasteel I had lying around
I already have 20% unyielding on
And itās a mk1
Because hadron bricked too many DC swords I had
The build is pretty low cost all thing considered cuz you only really need 2 locks per weapon. The rest is luxury
and limbsplitter works at any rank
would be a nice suprise but all I expect are more nerfs
Wait, does melee weapon stuff apply to the shank?
they'll nerf power sword and sell it as chaxe buff probably
This bayonet thing is getting hotfix for sure at least
Not most of them, only a few
Wrong people answered, sorry plush
You could remove powerswords from the game and I dont think I'd touch chaxe
Yes, that's the whole point
...just give me a a damn power bayonet
Anyone?
limbsplitter not expiring is silly
Flak + Maniac/Unarmored
I can only get one
bromentum on bayonet has been a thing for months I think
then flak
but you never had this many different sources of damage to stack for bayonet
Doesnt work
misinformation
That's fine, marksman focus is still crappy
Okay
my thoughts are that I sleep
Boolean set to False
same energy
Imagine checking your code live
oh good
That's like, the 2nd time someone post code on reddit saying it does something while experience shows otherwise
on the plus side I dont have to change my build to include keystone
I've run it for two whole games now
it's wild
That dude mentioned ally revive perk has stun immune
While it's active
lol
Is that part true at least
I thought it works today but turns out certain enemies just lock onto players like missiles
the rager knows where it is because it knows where it isn't
rager flailing behavior
Been running Focus with my Laspistol build
- Still gets maced in the head by heretics
ya
Yes
You donāt get knocked out of it and itās pretty silly
Yes
Tbf even here I caught some people saying taht plasma charge rate no longer affected dmg

Sounds like I'm switching from Grenadier then
what would good perks for a stamina curio be
Someone was pretty insistent about it
it's the same thing so yes
I'm taking it and never rezzing people
So yeah, I cannot trust any of you
you can trust me
You can take like 4-5 hits while reving
rn it has +8% ordo dockets, +4% max health, and +6% exp
I don't even trust myself
Isnt it active during revving only
im assuming two of those suck
Oh i thought it's active while you're running to them as well?
I already run triple Ally Revive Speed on Curios
it's active while moving to the revive and reviving them
I havenāt seen that
health is fine.
what should i replace the other two with?
Which stats are dump stats for DC swords
Back at it again asking questions as per usual
I use infil so I just go stealth and revive
Oh god Thy Teammates Be Swift era?
Cleave dmg, cleave target?
Gunner resist, sniper resist, ability regen, sprint efficiency are all good
I know mobility I want 50+
thoughness as well
+toughness good
Toughness Regen Speed, Stamina Regen Speed, Ally Revive Speed for me, 2x Toughness 1x 3 Stamina
^^
leaving your teammate netted on the ground to enjoy some stun immune
I wish stripped down also gave a bit of a swap speed bonus
That's exactly what I want to do
At least my teammates will be useful for something
It doesnāt work on rescue from my experience
Thatās based
What are the lore ramifications of a veteran being able to kill a daemon from the warp with a bayonet
is it more lore accurate when I do it with a shovel or parry the overhead of a plague ogryn with d.claw
Is it just me or does boltgun feel like the bullets arent doing very much damage
doesnt it kill a crusher in like a few hits?
I tried it and it seems inconsistent, like I see enemies go for other players more often but I don't see them flat out change direction like they used to do with camo expert
overall this seems more of a bonus if you already wanted to use focus keystone, im not changing keystone just for it
Like wowie zowie i can kill the entire horde but then i load the elite full of leads and it dont kill em
may I introduce you to the plasmagun
60 quickshots per magazine (on average) and quickshots are insanely powerful
mk3 helbore has entered the chat
capable of doming a crusher in 1 headshot with the right setup
Keep or no
Surgical + pinning fire is meta for bolter?
That is what scares me
Trying to unlock it
is it even possible to get dumdum 4 on colomnus mk v?
guys, does On Overwatch penance counts only health bar damage ?
Think so, I got that recently and took a lot of single hits to toughness during the match
deo gratias
I don't know the god roll for this or whats the best perks
power cycler and sunder/bm is the best iirc
you got something cooking here, change Supercharge to Power Cycler 4
I wish I had pc4
Excellent roll
I only gotten pc3 after a year
hell yeah!
Sunder is one of the 2 best options besides power cycler
wow great roll
Sunder is valued by some people, it lets you cleave through crushers and heavy elite packs without stopping
meaning: zero resistance swinging to stunlock them
sunder is my goat
power swords have one mandatory blessing imo (any many others) Power Cycler III or IV
I need that because I love dunking on crushers
Sunder is arguably the best defensive option VS brutal momentum being overall better offesnsively
Sunder is specifically better against group of melee elite
Is there a way to unbind just the brace function for brace autoguns?
The number of times that fucking "special" attack has killed me is unreal
it's just the aim input
can I unbind it without breaking blocking? It's just bound as "secondary action"
you can't, but why are you bracing on accident
The problem being that swapping weapons, not having them swap due to a dropped input, then instead bracing instead of blocking with the weapon that I thought I'd pulled out. The brace animation takes time and leaves me wide open
I never use brace, so the only time I'm right-clicking on a brauto build is when I've already switched to melee. It's infuriating to have that repeatedly start the animation for while trying to switch weapons, just locking me into low mobility, no dodge, and wide open for damage.
unfortunately i think you are at a loss for this scenario
unrelated but is the Agripinaa Mk1 autogun any good or nah? trynna find a good autogun to dump into
yeah they're all good, people gravitate towards Columnus because it builds Dumdum stacks the fastest though
agri mk1 is nice for longer range plinking
guys does dumdum 4 exist?
definitely, i have it
thank you
i know at least 4 dumbdumb
u sure?
its not a huge step up from tier 3, don't bust yourself trying to get it
I am almost certain that transcendent has better odd for t4
i know thats not alot but list is long
and yeah upgrade to gold to get a better chance of tier 4
yeah did some of that too
i like that some blessings aren't very punishing if you can't get t4
stares at power cycler 4
prioritize dumdum yeah, fire frenzy is nice but no big deal if you can't
raking fire ain't half bad either
MK V autogun just feels amazing whatever

Raking fire and infiltrate is a nice bosskilling combo
Most sane Veteran player.
what should i do with this? obviously change out dmg to groaners and poxwalkers but anything else?
ive had worse episodes
surgical
Crucian to Surgical imo
you should bring those to orange if you're hunting IVs
yeah i did most of them
glad i have a bolter that had surgical
now just gotta wait for it to pop up before i can actually use it idk whats up with hadron
more like shardon
@umbral scaffold crucian - surgical - groaners - flak
I have gloryhunter IV on mine, didnt bother changing it
I can just pop an elite for easy toughness gain, handy
lights out modifier
Currently losing my mind trying to do the make every shot count penance. Any tips to deal with it?
Yeah, plasma, revolver or shotgun should help
preferably with low ammo roll
get a revolver, take out survivalist and dump your ammo into a monstrosity
or ogryns
thats it
Also, you can pick an assassination mission and dump your ammo into the shield of the boss at the end
that'd work too
Does anyone still use the boltgun? I never seem to see it.
I just finished a T5 auric mission with it
plasma is meta but I dont care about the meta
bolter works fine
Fucking right. The bolter goes chunk chunk chunk. It's cooler than plasma whump-whumps.
Yes pls
ye
very strong
been running it with exe stance marksman focus
yaknow, here i was thinking you didnt have to aim too well to use the shotgun
and then i was spectating a vet that straight up could not aim
probably far from meta but this is what I run on my bolter setup
controller moment
you can swap exhilarating for reload speed btw
user
its fine where it is
added requirement to yell into the mic to activate shout
certain weapons are a little silly (plasma)
when they make the toughness not regeneable
and remove boss stagger
yes
maybe
whats wrong with boss stagger
its up every 10 seconds if you can keep up special kills
let me push bosses off the map
what is wrong with it is that the other 2 abilities are not comparable
Stealth do be powerful (when used right)
I prefer shout because its more efficiently placed, closer to stuff I want on this build
stagger anything you want every 10 seconds, 200 group toughness, toughness that can be regened

ty vetbro
I'm not gonna take survivalist and then go all the way right for infiltrate
can i get the NVG sight from infiltrate without the cooldown attached
yeah because you're killing a special every second that makes so much sense
are you doubting the director's density in aurics ?
Problem with VF is I have to be taxed 1 extra node compared to shout to have it be barely functional, but even then it's still inferior and I dont get grenade regen for free
that game up there is t5 auric
I had 3x as many ranged elites than specialists
sometimes its the opposite
dang
when its a dog/mutie train you get to spam shout yeah
I dont think dog train gives ammo/cdr anymore
Who's that?
post the resulting brick
š¦
Lookin pretty scuffed
slim chance at greatness
Hadron takes victims left and right
Saw a dude in qp, he was popping off with his build
Sadly, couldnt get a look at it
I think he was running the stealth with some smg
Probably ciag
Really annoyed dt doesnt have a thing to show teammates gear and talents
Revolver mains
I am tempted to run Revolver in my Zealot
Which mod
but also, I want to avoid that overtuned bs
I NEED this mod bruh
loadout monitor, also in conjunction with scoreboard.
running bolter + ps like its release
might aswell abuse it
