You can't hit max surgical without it fully charged to begin with
Maniacs or flak
You'll still get 1-3 surgical stacks depending on your charge speed
yeah i mean can you still benefit from the faster charge rate given that you have to wait for surgical
i guess you could use uh
For whatever reason, every special except like 3 are maniacs
deadshot? i think?
Took a bit of work, but I am going to give what you are saying a try.
the 25% crit while ads
why not? Surgical stacks do go up with just holding M2
could let you get away with surgical not full stacking
You charge your thing way faster than your stacks build up
Is what I'm trying to say
They also go up while you're just holding a shot
so do you wait for the guaranteed crit every time or just rng it
So you have to hold it for more stacks
i've never actualyl seen sunder before, is that a t4 only mod?
you can't just build 10 stacks naturally
Yeah
In case you're just scanning for a target or something
from using the gun as is with no holding.
wack
Melk brought this, worth grabbing?
Opening Salvo + Deadshot + Surgical pretty much guarantees crits
i would say yes
wait does opening salvo uh
count the top 10% of the mag
Opening salvo the talent
so like if you dont go down
in the last patch hell ye lol
Pretty top tier for a 6d
gotta say its kinda wild how the psword has a couple mods that are t3-4 only and are absolutely cracked. I only have power cycler 3 right now and it's already so much better
Infiltrate is pretty good tbh, people skip over it far too much
i hated the psword until i got cycler 3
Pretty good rolls, and definitely good to go with your 2 changes, but the entire recon line is in the dumpster currently and even the 6d is just low tier. You can buy it if you want it for when (if) they get buffed, but keep in mind you're investing in a gun that's not good currently.
Infiltrate is my actual favourite. VoC is just inexcusably good tho lol
so like question related to this is infiltrate just better than volley for autoguns or
just for raking fire infantry
he also brought this and it seems tempting
it makes it soo much less clunky, you spend a lot less time charging
chain axe camera snap is a dealbreaker
I firmly believe the Transcendent = Tier 4 Blessings percentage chance thing even though I haven't seen any empirical data to support it. My own very small sample size seems to imply as much, and it's made my life a lot easier when fishing for Tier 4's.
Its a different playstyle entirely
something similar to Ogryn's Gauntlet?
wait is sunder enough cleave to go through the bulwark shield? am i crazy?
I dont know that the two are really all that comparable
Yes
yes, itll lock you in place for a moment on the swings which is a death sentence
please for the love of god FS tune down the chainaxes camera snap so it can be used
yeah i prefer to play vet as the "shoot shooters/specials/elites" person, what role does infiltrate fill instead outside of the rez clutches?
Its more for survivability. Stealth, toughness and movement speed helps clutch
Its ronseal, get behind a troublesome line an start taking it apart
Chainaxe is also generally considered to be a dumpster tier, gimping yourself weapon
which is sad because its cool as heck aesthetically
Save yourself from getting disabled at any given time, can drop aggro to leverage silly blessings, obviously the aforementioned res potential
wild. does it actually hit the bulwark or does it just let you keep swinging?
also yeah looking at that vid i can see the value of having a disgusting amount of cleave for mowing down groups even when theres enemies with huge hit mass in there
if it's fun on Malice at least then it's good enough for me to grab to grind weeklies with
Both
well yeah you can do whatever you want on malice
that tierlist is just what is more fun to you
At least that's what I took away from his vid.
I actually dont know why in this patch. It feels pretty bad to use but that sucker got some beefy output
In my experience the chainaxe feels like shit no matter what, 6d even in its current state would be perfectly fine for malice.
so lets say i take a brauto for horde thinning would it be better to take infiltrate so you can just kinda get to a position perpendicular to the horde and just brrrt given that volley wouldnt be resetting
The longer video where he is actually fighting the group that he linked.
plasma gun sword (real)
do they even do anything lol
The special action really shreds a single target but outside of that, it has no redeeming qualities. Stacking power blessings makes the heavies usable for horde clear at least, if not good at it by comparison.
they blind your team if thats useful to you?
from what I'd seen they make all rangeds run through it towards you
i saw the description and went "oh i guess you can throw it as a pseudo stun for shooter crowds"
but like i legitimately dont think they work like that
very situational
Granted ive not really used it on Vet, but at least on Zealot its made significantly less awful by the increased attack speed
Situationally they can be, but trouble is they're also fuckin inconsistent and dont work on Snipers. So whilst yes, they work, the situations youd actually want them to be good in, they are not
i thought they just didnt work on snipers period
Vet technically has melee attack speed too but, you know, there's plenty of other weapons you could take instead that benefit just as much or more because it multiplies your existing power.
If you take a super deep tree node for it.
They dont, you'd be correct
oh i misread what you said
is the 50% suppression boost talent good for something like the vraks 7 headhunter?
thought you meant they were inconsistent
Yeah, i can see that being problematic on Vet for sure
If you're taking Trench Fighter, mightaswell take Shovel tho ove Chaxe tbh
Mega griefing item
"Don't worry guys, I'll hide us from the pox hounds"
They're inconsistent vs shooters + gunners
No
On headhunter guns u want to click head
Having them consistently move around from suppression is exactly what u don’t want
3/4 scuffed, 1/4 not preferred. Flak/maniac and fire frenzy/deathspitter.
ty
Sometimes they work proper well and pull off loads of incoming fire, other times you get blasted through the cloud
Harvest terrifying barrage
(terrifying barrage is dog btw)
Yeah speedload is definitely better than barrage
I run this and like to use a MK VIII Braced Autogun with it and a shovel. Thoughts?
Still not sure what to make my second Plasma Gun perk. I am happy I can one tap Flak Gunners, but find it problematic I can't one tap Dreg Gunners.
But still not prefferred over ff/deathspitter
Can someone give me a tldr on the axes? Blessings, horde/single target, use case, etc. Haven't really messed with them before
My recommendation would be stamina>flak or maniac and barrage>ff or deathspitter
If you wanted to salvage it
You could also replace both perks for flak/maniac
I think you should shift some points to get rending strikes
Since you're right there
voice of command would also likely be better for a close ranged oriented build
Outside of taking uncanny strike to higher lvl, what should I change for this shovel
how much does this actually do? i feel like it doesnt do a lot unless you hit something 3-4 times by which time the bleed isnt going to make the difference
decimator/uncanny seem to be the consensus for best shovel blessings, perks would be elites>flak
skull -> deci and elite -> flak
I've experimented with it on a melee commissar build, didn't work that well.
Horde clear is just too inferior to the chain sword.
I'd say chaxe is the weapon most in-need of a rework.
On its own not a lot of dmg
But the bleed stacks apply onslaught brittleness effects
brauto setup thoughts?
I can only do 1 of those
Ive found having SkullCrusher/Deci' is actually more output if you already have any source of Rending
SC ofc is doing way more atm than is listed
That's because bleed stacks cap at 16 and scale exponentially, it doesn't really do much outside of bosses. Could use it for knife synergy with mercy killer without taking lacerate (which isn't very good).
Wether or not its a bug or a case of an updated blessing missing its new tooltip who can say
yes
It does help finish off non-elite/special/monstro enemies.
Otherwise it basically does nothing unless you're stacking it with Bloodletter
I run deci + skull after running uncanny + skull for a long time
Rending dont matter much when you have krak tbh
Be careful though, cleaving through a bulwark shield is only a gimmick that never matters in game
My knife doesnt want to talk to you anymore
Well it does, because Rending effects all armour types except Unarmoued/Infested now
But yeah, SC is putting in shitloads of work atm
I assume uncanny provides much more consistent rending (the stacks stay on you, more than rending strikes, no need for crits with exploit, no need for ridiculous amounts of hits with onslaught) and much higher capped rending for for hard targets.
meaning you do up to true damage to those other types or can you do beyond true damage now?
So you could easily get enough rending to full damage carapace and then some
Skullcrusher would feel immediately better however on soft targets you do full or near full damage to.
which recon lasgun is the best
They're all in the dumpster currently, 6d is the least bad but now low tier.
I kind of just like using infiltrate as a get out of jail free card and so I can do things. Tbh
Do you want really fast with least damage, fast with most damage, or the middle option?
RIP Rending Recon lasgun
Rending do be pretty good tho
Im aware, but most enemies die before the rending takes effect
Crusher/bulwark/mauler you just krak, the rest dies before you build enough rending stack
Kinda.. The TTK is actually better on a lot of enemies with SC atm purely because you dont gotta wind it up none, an if you run Onslaught + Serrated Edge, or even with Rending Strikes ontop, you're already stacking Rending bonus' so the extra alpha is more impactful overall
I've been running this very mid-statted VIIa without even touching the perks and it has been doing some work after the letest patch
I keep forgetting you can activate powersword during block
iirc this one wasn't actually touched by the patch, but it is a good weapon.
how does toughness regen work on say a curio, is it an increase to all gains, or just gains on cohesion slow regen?
how are axes on vet?
well, you see, I ran VId before the patch
Combat axes - top tier
Tactical axes - uhhhhh
Ah okay LUL
Coherency
May be worth considering that most important melee happens in extended where uptime would be consistent and the stacking becomes a near non-factor. Those talents are also a big ask depending on the build.
people recommend rashad are there any other combat axes worth trying
All 3 are good
antax. Achlys is the weakest of the 3
Is Laspistol good on Vet if you do a crit build?
Yes, make sure you aim for the head
kk ill just buy one of each to check out the move set what blessings are good on them i have not played with axes at all
mostly cuz achlys has a weak horde moveset
whatre best vet curio perks?
its insanely strong rn
We have a differing build mentality methinks, Onslaught an Rending Strikes are BiS picks i try to grab on most builds
Does ghost’s ranged attack immunity activate both duck & dive and reciprocity
What I do with my Bleed knife on Vet, is I dance around a horde hitting one part of the horde with maybe 2 attacks then moving on to next one and letting the bleedstacks finish them off.
yes
If it works like stripped down it might not proc reciprocity ?
lmao got it ty
I'm assuming for combat axes you want brutal momentum and decapitator right?
Let me test it for you to be sure since I have ghost guns
it does proc duck n dive though, unless it has been changed
So if I’m getting at it correctly
Duck & dive keeps deadshot active -> +25% crit chance
Reciprocity -> 25% crit chance (from 5 dodges)
Laspistol base crit chance 15% (?)
Veteran innate crit chance 5% (?)
I’m looking at 70% crit chance over here?
they removed guns innate chances
I grab at least one depending on the gun as well, but rending definitely doesn't feel like enough by itself and going deep into the right tree is not something ranged oriented builds will do to take advantage of bleed/onslaught in melee.
Ok but that’s still 55%?
is there some stigma to the viii autogun? Dont remember seeing another vet using one and i love the thing
average reciprocity at 10%
You won't get 25% reliably
Ok so roughly 1 in 3 shots will crit then
You sure? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2892198053 Still list guns as having crit chances.
Onslaught effects all weapons afaik, not just melee, so you can fob off running Serrated an still benifit. More i mean after a certain point, more upfront damage is better than doing miserable damage at full rending stacks because you already have the grunt to make use of it
why is "resuply allies" not tracking?
is bugged
welp, guess i can check on revolver at least
It does, rending is a buff to you generally while it lasts. It's still a big ask for effort to go and bleed things, wait for sufficient stacks, then blast them, as you noted. And then doing it for every target in something like a crusher patrol is also a bit much.
But I won't check the code
I should already be sleeping
Revolver is listed as melee crit so
Well not really, because if you're in melee in both scenarios, you have a weapon that deals fuck all damage, but has loads of rending, or you have a moderate amount of rending from your talents and then a big hit on melee, vs heavily armoued targets TTK is much the same, on everything else, the latter is pulling ahead a good bit
Onslaught is brittleness, not rending
It’s applied onto enemies
Yes, im aware, but for all intents an purposes, its the same actual impact
So u suggest skullcrusher + decimator?
im about to test it
Over uncanny strike + skullcrusher/decimator?
lol just bullied a plague ogryn and chaos spawn with devil claw parry
Thats what i landed on after playing with Uncanny/Deci' for a good while prior, i got SC4 (at last) an decided to try it over Uncanny an yeah, it ended up outperforming it in most relevant scenarios
However, i will preface it by saying if you dont already have some form of Rending support, it might not be, but if you do already have it, Uncanny becomes a lot less valuable
Deci > uncanny no question
Dont have deci + uncanny shovel atm
I mean compared to just using krak grenades or using a weapon that can just blow them up (both ranged and melee) it's a big ask.
Ehh, you dont always have Kraks depending on your build an soley relying on a grenade to kill problem targets isnt a good way of going about it imo
thx
Not most problem targets, just crushers.
yea I plan on running it with either onslaught or rending strikes
Then yeah, use SC, if you dont have that support, use Uncanny
Also why weapons that can deal with carapace well baseline are generally better
Yea so swap uncanny for decimator here and elite to flak?
Free grenades is certainly less of an investment than running both bleed on melee and onslaught
Personally i dont like putting all my eggs in single baskets, though personally i dont find Crushers that threatening anyway, its more that it makes the Shovel better at other stuff which you're more likely to be fighting in CqC
Yer
Thx
mkay sooo is the chain axe actually usable or purely a meme thing
I like it but people prefer the chainsword if u wanna try out shredder stuff
More mobility
In terms of point investment its more or less the same. You dont have to take the bleed, you can just go on Onslaught, which is the literal same point cost as any other skill, sure you have to intentionally get to it, but you have to do that with grenade regen too on a number of builds
It's against the general advice of most high tier shovel users but you can do as you like with it.
do they both suffer from not-great horde clear? can't get the same level of performance like the shovel
Horde clear’s alright but ya nothing to widen ur gaze at
Chainsword should be better than Shovel at horde clear?
Shovel is a tryhard combo-cycling weapon, Chainsword is spam heavy attacks an brrr, not to mention, Chainsword gets Rampage which is utterly cracked in this current patch
Donk here must have a cracked shovel
HA, no I'm only lvl 17 vet
Free grenades is definitely less of an investment than onslaught. If you're taking kraks, it's literally right there on the way down. Whereas if you're going voc it's a 5 point investment to nab onslaught if you just want it.
If you're not going kraks, free nades is a 2 point investment from any side.
Of course if you're going right tree anyway then of course you'd grab those 2 and it's no problem.
Hwhich CAxe are we liking more? Rashad or Antax?
so is survivalist even working, since its not tracking penences?
From what I hear that penance has been bugged for a while
If you're taking Kraks, otherwise you still have to deviate and/or give up other powerful talents to take it
its been...weird to say the least. Trying to do some sort of Commisar support build, not sure if I should focus left or middle* branch. I'm hoping to run a revolver for gun, so left branch seems to be more up my alley. However, middle branch seems to have the more support oriented talents
Some people think it works with the base aura I.e unaugmented but I think this isn’t factual
Given Vet tree is very bottom heavy when it comes to the actually strong skills, i prefer to ignore grenade regen entirely tbh
Never tried it myself cuz I was lucky enough to have the penance done before this bug showed up
You'd have to do the same to take onslaught and bleed as well, if you weren't already going down that line...
Tbh vet being a bottom is totally canon
Nobody said anything about willingness
Thats kinda the point, to get stuff you want, you have to deviate, but i dont see free regen on 'nades being as strong in this patch compared to other stuff. It is very strong, but its not something thats got the same kind of uptime over a mission as Onslaught, Rending Strikes, Precision Strikes etc
I stand corrected, seems like revolver does have crit stat correctly applied
Tooltip is still crap
Learned something new, reciprocity doesn't seem to stack with ghost dodging. dnd works as has been noticed for some time.
You can trigger Reciprocity by manually dodging gunfire, but it has to be an input
Just one of em quirks
what's the best blessings to put on a plasma gun?
But also Stripped Down would trigger everything and you'd just run up with all those bonuses lol
Blaze away (lv3 only)
Glory hunter / Gets Hot
Was about to ask regarding Stripped Down given it was changed
Gonna have to do a silly build with that an a bunch of +Stam shit
You don't even need +Stam
Yes, but you'd need to deviate more for onslaught, and it doesn't fit well on many weapons because of fire rate. So many builds will just ignore the right side entirely. You can alleviate it not working as well with, as you said, the bleed talent, but that's a massive investment for both of them.
My whole point to begin this was that with that massive investment of points down the right tree into onslaught and bleed, if you didn't want those talents anyway, you'd be better off taking that rending blessing on your shovel and putting those points to better use.
As soon as you push into gunfire with a Stripped Down weapon you are instantly triggering duck n dive and getting the stamina back
does anyone know what the mod for weapons attachments is on nexus?
like the name of it*
You dont have to take bleed, you could probably get away with just Rending Strikes even, but we're not really debating anything here at this point lol. We both agree that if you dont have supporting talents then Uncanny is better on Shovel, if you already have supporting stuff, then SC becomes better
It's not on nexus. Try #📌communities
thanks lol
Free nades > rending strikes
You can usually take both
Rending strike and free nade are rarely mutually exclusivr
Unless you go deep in other trees
Like i said earlier, i dont see free grenades being as powerful as prior to the new skill trees, its still very strong, but its not in the "You must pick one of these talents to succeed" bracket any longer
I'm thinking that the green one is better slightly.
You technically don't need any rending to succeed either
I don't even put any points into my trees.
That too
I don't even play
Shredder frags are extremely clutch in the current patch
Way better than rending strikes
Cant lose if no play
More nades the better
Kraks still good too but way too much rager spam ATM for me to prefer them compared to patch 13
For sure, but its a much more "catch all" style effect that has near constant uptime
All in all, its one of the strongest features in the game this patch
Kinda expect it to get a nerf on some armour types in a coming patch tbh
Krak is somewhat better in scab-only maelstrom
But generally speaking frags are just so much more versatile
It certainly is strong, but don't sleep on the grenades. In a 30 minute mission, you get 30 free grenades, and that's about 15-30 potential wipes prevented.
Frags are really strong as a clutch tool especially in no ammo mod, kraks makes every build good against monstro run
Well then you're getting the rending from bleed and onslaught
Ya
Definitely not me. I am an ogryn player
You don't need rending strikes
Rending strikes is good if used with lower firerate weapons imo
Headhunter autogun kind of needs it
it feels as though im cheating with the bolter but damn the revolver feels good
I've not been sleeping on them, but i have been enjoying having variety in the Vet tree as opposed to just being an ammo disposal unit/demo' man like times of old
Though it still bugs me immensely that Scavenger works in Scab melee only
that shit needs to be forced off in those missions
Would be way less fun
It says "no ammo pickups" and "melee only", it'd be nice if that was actually enforced as much as is reasonable to expect. Obviously cant do nowt about Psykers, but yeah. Melee only is one of the modifiers that goes from actually hard, to a fucking joke the second you have free ammo
Ammo is really not the hard part on this modifier tjough
No, the hard part is you have to engage a bunch of highly stagger resistant enemies in melee, as soon as you start throwing in free usage of things like Kickback, Revolver, Grenade Gauntlet, Plasma etc, you might aswell just be playing a normal scab only mission
No ammo pickups, not no ammo regained.
Oh btw, i kinda forgot but nurgle bless also increase mass ?
Lorewise ? Yes
Can anyone attest if this guide is still current? Looking to dip my toes into the mods scene and not sure where to start. https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/11cod2i/guide_how_to_install_mods_in_darktide_w_gifs/
#📌communities got a modded discord full of like-minded broskis
try there
TYVM
Yeah, only shout can save you here
Just saying that only shout can save you against pack of green rager
Do the 2 ragers have different properties aside armor type?
Well, infiltrate works as well but longdr cd
It will hit all but not stun the green
Scab has more mass than dreg rager
You can hit 3 dreg rager with ps but only 2 scab
Which is pretty important for rampage
damn is there really nothing to do with maxed weapons with bad rolls and no new blessings other than selling em
ya
been doing it for a while but feels awful for some reason
Anyway, need to bail. Stay nice
meh milk
And this is why everyone hates the crafting system
Couldn't sleep, so decided to make a funni hehe melee build
My dingy mk3 ps can now three hit a crusher
i dont think not being able to recycle maxed weapons is why everyone hates the crafting system
Its a big part of it
They get recycled into dockets
Clearly what the omnissiah intented
Not only do you waste mats to roll these fucking items, best you can do is get dockets from them so in essence you're getting a refund on that one single weapon's base cost, not the costs of upgrading it, which further feeds the cycle of tedium
hmm
Anyone got a good shotgun/combat axe build?
is it intentional that all shotgun blessings are shared between the different variants ?
bit late to the convo but when the mission says "melee only" its referring to the types of enemy you'll be fighting. not telling you to ONLY use melee
its lying to you
it specifies "mostly melee enemies"
Not "only melee enemies"
from my experience it only tells u that when u actually look at it
the only ranged enemies you will get on mostly melee is dependant on map seeds
but overall 95% of the nemies will be melee
should i be looking for more thermal res?/ what is the dump stat on the plasma gun?
right now im using this one
meta seems to be uncanny/decimator
but someone said skullcrusher/decimator is also good
yeah hmmm
so as long as you have decimator
wonder if I should swap a perk out
or just swap blessings?
unarmored+flak seems to be the most popular melee weapon perks
My dump stat was always ammo because Im terrible for exploding
All blessings unlocks are shared for same weapon type across variants across account
I just gotta Buss sometimes man
is this recoverable?
is this worth using
or does the ammo kill it?
that's pretty god roll right?
Not for me. 304 is too low.
no
No.
somehow a slower chainaxe
damn I put a holosight on the Headhunter VII and its not zeroed LOL
are there any of the sights on the weapons modification mod that work on the headhunter VII?
In this game Cleave and Rending does it mean the same thing?
cleave is when you hit someone, your attack cleaves through them and into the next person
rending is a debuff that makes an enemies armor less effective iirc
Thank you very much for your answer, it explains a lot to me.
rending is a buff, brittleness is a debuff but both apply to armor reduction iirc
so they can stack
ah my b
idea is run up to enemies while invulnerable to their bullets and then quickly kill one and suppress the rest, rinse and repeat
so that is intended huh
i am killing myself
i got so eager
to replace a blessing
i replaced the wrong one
oof
on laspistol?
just wanted to demo raking fire on infiltrate and 90% less threat
dont matter no more
i gotta fish for raking fire now
actually
it aint end of the world
had raking fire 3
i got flak 25% and elite 10%
so there's room for raking fire 4 and dum dum 4
There are also no ammo pickups, so its kinda implied you should do most of it in melee. Scavenger breaks the balancing in that mode giga-hard.
once i get them
"Oh look we have a Vet, i'll run my Handcannon crit build and shit on this whole mission like its Malice"
And what is better?
- Rampage
Hitting at least 3 enemies with an attack, increases your damage by 24-36% for 3 seconds. - Savage Sweep
Hitting at least 3 enemies with an attack, increases your cleave by 140-200% for 2 seconds.
And how is it different in combat?
I understand that this mainly works in melee combat with multiple enemies (hordes).
Rampage is better. By a fucking mile
Also, its bugged
What power sword would y'all say is the best?
And is giving Power + Damage
today i learned the infantry autoguns have the best sprint of non-pistols
and the same as the revolver
oh wait nvm
recon 6d is also speedy
6 is like
as close to objectively better
as you can get
in this game
so are you suggesting that simply because you find it makes a mission feel too easy players should be locked out of not only just an aspect of the combat but entire aspects of a players build?
If you bring a RANGED build into a MELEE only modifier, yes, you should feel heavily nerfed
yea it does require that you get the push attack down
but it has reduced block cost to make up for it
Frag grenade spam breaks that mode harder than anything else on vet
Eh, its strong, but you dont get a grenade back every single kill
So much less problematic
i see 6 as a higher risk, higher reward psword
You don't need a grenade for every lone enemy
You need it for the packs
Which certainly will refund you on avg
With demo team
Along with the 60s refund
I just dont think the modifier has any real reason to exist if they're not gonna roll with the whole "melee only" aspect
You always have one when you need it
its sounds like you'd just prefer that mission type to say "zealot class only"
Mightaswell just play normal scab only
which is odd considering this is vet chat
If thats the veiw you wanna take. But in actuality, i want difficulty and being given a team with a portable ammo dispenser in it allowing the mode to be trivialised by a couple guys with revolvers, does not add any difficulty
not to mention a lot of the enemies in that mode that could be considered dangerous, are simply not dangerous if you have an armour penning gun
queue for aurics then
dont try to tell them that i've already tried
It is now, but thats a bug which is likely to get fixed pretty quick
Or at least i hope so
When are we getting grenade only modifier
All enemies are bombers
You can only use grenades
All drops are grenades
dont try to be intellectually dishonest. Surge is getting over a 100% buff to its damage because of a broken issue with Empowered Psyonics
Damage on certain weapons needs toned down substantially.
As well as hp pools increased in a few enemies. Crushers/bulwarks are pretty meme
Which is permanent if you have the thing proc'd the staff dont eat it
my gun is my melee weapon only switching to my actual melee weapon if i need to reload mid horde
Hire me obesefeesh
I've been saying that for fucking months, way before all the buffs and new trees
nah surge without damage will get overwhelmed because of target cap
Yeah there is a massive difference, because a Psyker wont be able to drop a Crusher in a single cast anymore
And thusly the volume will get them, not the individual
turn down the volume and all the enemies simply evaporate

You do realise that Surge doesnt work like that anymore right?
Smite does.. but thats not the problem child here
Surge does massive single target damage now, its not a stunlock stick anymore
the issue is its getting the buff that Smite should be getting, only permanently after its procd
stealth zelot
Does anyone else know why the new vets are ignoring the team portion of the game
A lot of the new vets I’ve played with keep running off and dying
replace vet
with people
and the answer is
because they need their sick frags
call of duty blindset
What would you change in this Chainsword?
Bloodletter lvl 2 to lvl 4 or other Blessing.
Is there a big difference in Bloodletter between 12 and 14 Bleed Stacks from Special Attacks?
I use my special ability quite often.
That’s what I keep saying
i think the class with the lowest amount of solo heroes ive seen is psyker
but they make up for it with the ones that blow themselves up
The people I’ve noticed that are bad play like they are trying to play cod
I tried to warn ya
It’s just infuriating because the game ACTIVELY tells you to work together
Such is the life of a Jarhead
They really do eat crayons
They're nice and chewy
But I’m only complaining in the vet channel because the cod brained people gravitate to the class because it’s all they know
Speaking of this class anyone know a good method for completing the “on overwatch” penance?
VoC can come in clutch if u are to get hit by a melee when you’re at <100% toughness
get yourself a couple of ogryn bodyguards and a psyker
So it’s only if I take health damage?
But the biggest helps are probably smite Psyker & taunt shield Ogryn
yep
U can afford to take melee dmg if you have full toughness (doesn’t dmg health)
Ah ok that makes this slightly more manageable
also pays to have a high mobility melee like the mk vii tac axe
Now I just need to get good
Just practice missions where u aim to take as little melee dmg as possible while going heavy into melee fights
Gets u tuned into block & push so u can avoid a lot of the dmg
Shovel is a safer pick
I’m good with dodging aside from maulers who I swear has a larger hitbox on its swings
with maulers its good to dodge backwards on horizontal swings and sideways on the verticals
dont dodge until he starts bringing it down though because he can drag that shit hard
Its objectively the most fun melee weapon in the whole game imo
Shovel goated
Fun yes
Also probably the safest melee on vet
There’s nothing quite like hearing the bonk audio play for half the mission
anybody got a glitch where your F wouldn't work?
yeah, karking server lag eating your input but it still makes the sound
is grabbing both .25s stamina recovery time talents a noob trap? i feel like im being noob trapped by it
don't know why but i've gotten into a very bad habit of sticking by a psyker
I think you only need 1 usually, if you’re going into more of a melee build (take the one on the right tree)
The one on the left tree is so deep and point heavy that it’s generally not worth grabbing considering middle tree is full of talent taxes
you can nab the left one if the stuff there helps your build
I run the columnus IAG with this build
r8
Very good
It is indeed a trap.
Might wanna check ur breakpoints tho
I’m not sure which maniac enemy can survive a revolver crit headshot with 80% rending
if any do they deserve to live lmao
Mutant 1 tap headshot revolver seems too niche a breakpoint compared to one tapping crushers and maulers in the head
With 30% weakpoint node on left tree
Hand cannon + surgical
and exe or no?
Path through deadshot because u want crit chance
Pretty sure no X stance needed?
Crit headshot with 80% rending + 30% weakpoint dmg + 10% dmg (from pathing through deadshot)
Crusher is 3600hp
crit headshot doesnt 1tap mauler either
i have those ofc
im trying cara rn that might push it over
Marksman can definitely push the breakpoint to 1 tap crusher
I don’t think exe is that great with revolver
Would rather go marksman even though it’s super point heavy
definitely would be with +carapace on this thing
im gonna take 25% unyeilding on it actually
then i can tap reapers and do more boss dmg
Talent prob smth like this
almost always flak and maniac
does 20% brittleness and 100% rending stack?
Maximum is 100%
Past that there’s nothing left to rend lol
how does 25% dmg vs maniacs/flak etc. interact with rending?
is there a limit to the additional dmg you can do?
or can you get a whole team of ppl stacking brittleness onto a boss?
Id trade the last perk in the left tree for Kill zone
Cause 15% flat bonus damage when enemies arent close to you is way better overall
It also triggers when catch a breath is active
Marksman is specifically for maximizing revolver 1 taps
If crusher 1 tap is what he wants
Ohh thats fair then
does uncanny strike stacks apply to ranged attacks?
No
i just tested it
it does?
ok i may be dumb, i think im seeing the swap dmg amp
we're saved right? PC 3 to 4 and weak spot damage to flak or something, or does rampage NEED to be slaughterer?
Brutal momentum is kinda better
This game is being mean to me perfect run then at the very end tackled by a mutant with a tox flamer burning me so I take health damage
You can run slaughterer if you want instead. Though Brutal Momenutm is better.
eh i would need to use the 2 changes on power cycler 4 and the elite damage to maniac or flak i think. not sure i can afford to change rampage to anything else
You could try leaving power cycler at tier 3 too.
oof
Either way, yeah not great though.
i think rampage is fine right? not trash tier or anything but maybe not best in slot
i really dont want to continue farming this lol....
I know Hellbores are not used that much rn but this seems good i think?
It's in 3rd place below Slaughterer and Power Cycler/Brutal Momentum.
Seems fine so far.
That's good. Mk II already has the best charge rate out of the three.
I'm looking for surgical and what else?
I'm not that used to Hellbores blessings
Okay
Sunder feels like a utility pick to me. It increases cleave right? Which means for that scenario of wanting to apply damage through 2 bulwarks into a 3rd elite or a 3rd rager, it's helpful.

But rarely do you actually need to do that in practice.
I'd be happier with onslaught if it was a flat fixed reduction with no stacks tbh
Enemies aren't lining up so nicely, you've got squadmates also being involved in a fight, and you're still applying stagger through the enemies even if you aren't applying damage.
maybe I'm the oddball though
In mixed hordes if you're running sunder you have higher damage than brutal momentum? Assuming power cycler and the same finesse/damage stats?
Is Sunder increasing just cleave? Or is it also increasing cleave damage and cleave targets?
Sunder is better for when you’re cleaving through stuff u don’t weakpoint 1 hit kill
Yeah that was my impression.
I feel like the power sword already has strong enough anti-group capability that I'd rather increase its single target performance with brutal momentum, which also adds some anti-group power just not as much as sunder.
wonder when well get a complete tree for vet
They'll be on vacation in December.
Isn't their mandatory Swedish vacation in December?
is it the shout buffs?
vet was never op after the update idfk what kind of crack youve been smoking 💀
best solo class is oggy
you get buffs for each person down that let you solo the map
yes chance
i know
I'm not sure if a class' ability to solo maelstroms should be the benchmark by which all classes are compared to.
stealh is only really good for on overwatch idk again what kind of crack youve been smoking
me watching hadron brick a 379 power sword
Unless you're looking at a class philosophy where every class should be capable of doing everything vs relegated roles.
its the infil vet kool-aid
yes i know
just tap every enemy with plasma its not that hard
will vet fall off your tier list if they make events cancel stealth
I moreso meant that even if a class can solo under specific conditions, that may not mean its overpowered in the intended context the game was balanced around.
I don't think FS is balancing classes and talents based on "alright, let's try this in a solo damnation maelstrom".
So the results you get while notable may not be the approach they have in mind.
And so there's going to be discrepancies.
p13 infil was kinda dogwater
😉
It'd be crack tier take to imply infiltrate is overpowered
It might have its uses if you're trying to solo the game and need to do objectives
thats not overpowered in the context the game is meant to be played
so does zealot stealth, or vet shout
isnt it 6 with a talent?
Worth?
well the 6s one is op according to your logic
good statted, good upgrade rolls remain to be seen
cause you can do all the things stealth vet does, more frequently
Just got devastating strike on it
bad roll
, the weakest cleave blessing available for chainsword
It’s got better stats than my shovel. I’ll still take it lol
MAYBE i was wrong about power sword
what kind of curious do vets take, and what perks are they looking for?
Thanky thanky
I see, stam for the real pros
5% toughness and 5% health are better over stam regen and block efficiency?
Toughness regen worth it, or not so much for vets?
How do you pull these stats?
scoreboard mod
Ah, ok
How does stamina regen work
Increases the rate u regain stamina after it starts regen?
are tier4 blessings achievable when upgrading from green to blue?
hows this
The axe only attacks single targets though, right?
Not with brutal momentum
So is the rashad axe the best vet melee weapon?
I'm very new to the game btw
Just trying to figure out what to go for while learning the ropes
Depends on what ur looking for but it’s a relatively safe weapon that deals with mostly every target in the game well
I'm currently using the power sword 6 and am liking it a lot
It’s not the most lethal or the safest but it’s one of the best all-rounders that doesn’t miss out on anything
massively
VERY
against ragers especially
Can i parry a crusher? :0
but yeah, I'm on my first character and only to level 25 so still trying to learn how stuff works
not with that attitude
clearly just not timing the 0.3 nanosecond parry window well enough
I fell off the map
what stats am i looking for on chainsword? high everything except mobility?
Just got this from a drop
Rifling thru his pockets for new content
I just got this from Melk, but I haven't really looked too much into crafting. Should I swap some stuff out for it?
You probably lose a dodge, so I actually wouldn't recommend it lol
I feel like revolver vets use about twice the ammo jsut to kill half the enemies a plasma would
Revolver gets back one bullet per kill. Plasma gets back a 1/3 per kill
but knowing how the weakspot perk works it probably doesnt matter much with the insane cleave of energized swings
What's a good recon build blessings wise?
headhunter and infernus
Dumdum + headhunter
i agree PC3, BM4 isn't a huge gain compared to lesser tiers
i need a weapon better than my chainsword any suggestions
mk IV devils claw
whats the difference between the mk 4 and the mk 7
fools
get bm4
hope got pc4
rekt everyone
MK7 has a vertical swing in the light attack combo
The horde clear combo in backwards, Heavy 1 is an overhead on the mk4 rather than horizontal, and the mk4 does more damage on heavies but is a tad slower
The main reason is the easier access to a heavy overhead for dealing with elites/specials
In my opinion at least
And the MK 1 is dumb since all it can do is horde clear or light spam for an attempt at special/elite clearing
Since it doesn't really have overheads
i just need a melee weapon for pure horde clearing
my current gun the col gets the job done for eiltes/specials and bosses
It's generally better for ammo economy to also be able to handle elites/specials with melee
Just use the MK1 since it's really dumb easy to just spam heavy for hordes
Like it's sorta a waste of ammo to dump a bunch of ammo into a lone elite that doesn't really need to spend ammo/resources on
So a melee able to handle both is nicer
what is the smoke grenade useful for?
😮
i honestly have no idea how to use it properly
memes
I only have one build with it on my plasma gun
And a lot of people still disagree lmao
It's for rushing down shooters or providing cover from shooters
Which isn't an issue for vet
And it takes fucking forever to go off
So smokes aren't that useful
i just need a good weapon for horde clearing
This worth building more or try for a 360+ base roll?
I only use it on plasma since I don't clear shooters with my plasma because that's dumb, and I'm on volley fire
the chain sword and chain axe are pretty good at dealing with hordes
at least thats what ive heard
Chain axe isn't that good for horde clear
The power sword is king once you have tier 4 power cycler.
power sword huh ok
Chain axe is sorta the weakest chain weapon at the moment
It does do dummy damage though for some reason
But only single target
whats yalls favorite ranged vet weapon my favorite is the columnus autogun i think it does crazy damage and is the most versitile the recoil is a bit higher i have been wanting to try other guns but every one i have tried is meh or really situational whereas the columnus is good at everything
laspistol
at least since patch 13
Agreed an ol reliable
"please dont bricc please dont bricc"
"fuck it bricc'd"
so wich devil claw sword should i be using
and what kind of perks/blessing sto look for?
just got the game a week or so ago and im starting to comfortably do auric stuff now, started using boltgun, then swapped to plasma since its faster, then swapped to revolver since its even faster and now i dont know if ill be able to ever use anything else
don't worry they'll nerf it to be useless again soon
IV or VII, but the IV has a generally better moveset. Perks- Flak/Maniac, Blessings- Rampage + Shred/Savage/Wrath, users choice
Rampage is pretty non-negotiable tho
Different movesets for each, highest heavy damage on the IV(?).
Mk I heavies are both horizontal slashes and reduce brain cells required for horde clear.
Nah, not highest, they're the same, the important thing about IV is that H1 is the overhead which can be looped easily, cant do that on VII because the H1 is a sweep
Like they're both super good, but IV is more versatile because of the difference in moveset
(i like vii better shrimply because i like the curved blade look more than the triangular one)
I prefer the push attack on the VII, that poke is pretty useful to stab a rager in the eye every so often
Guys is anybody here done a mission without taking any melee damage?
If there is how did you do that
Yeah ive done that
How
By being consistent.
That's pretty much it.
and i cant tell you, just by playing the game.. I did it in Damn too
i did it by going invis vet, playing with 2 ogryns (randoms) and being very, very, very aware
You play through every encounter with the goal being to not take damage.
I naturally played that way already.
block constantly and remember that it only counts if you take health damage, if you take melee damage to toucghness it doesnt count as being 'hit'
So it wasn't hard to develop the skills to look around me, dodge appropriately, position well, etc.
As you kinda should on the whole tbh
Did it pre-patch, before the Endtimes (October 4).
Taking damage bad, dealing damage, good
@dense fog but I'd recommend trying to do it on Enclavum Baross
What ability did you use at least
i played super duper passive and since it was on a malice difficulty it wasnt too bad
I earned it back when Executioner's Stance was called Volley Fire. Nowadays you've got an extra cushion via Voice of Command you can use as an oh shit button.
yeah voice gives 100 extra tough and pushes enemies back
Read what @minor iron said.
Do you mean your toughness? Yes if it's a melee attack
Yeah, thoughtness
Okay
This pattern of boltgun does not have one.
why would a massive gun with insane kick need a stock /s
It only counts if you take hp damage
if you soak completely into your toughness, you'll be ok
Anyone actually put corruption resistence ont their curiors?
I run one perk of that.
Melee damage will always give you at least a tick of HP damage, unless you're blocking it.
Corruption is as bad if you're taking grimoires or harassed by dogs
The way this works is that if you are at 100% toughness, there will be no melee damage bleedthrough.
If you are at less than 100% toughness, damage will also apply to your health.
Certain attacks ignore this.
Such as crusher and mauler overheads.
Bc toughness mitigates based on toughness %
ah ic
Those will eat all your toughness and apply health damage.
Overheads insta kills for vets kek
hey rending strikes combo with onslaught yay or nay
i said rending strikes not weakness exploit
so rending strikes and onslaught stack?
Yr
Yeah, I have at least 12% on each one.
Build up far less corruption than the rest of the team usually.
If it didnt it would suck
I know it aint common but zealots with corruption healing is rather nice
Or field provisions vet
corruption resist is lowkey nice but it's hard competition
gunner and sniper resist usually take prio
and some people really just like their stam regen (or coherency regen on ogryn)
oh and so does flat 5% toughness and HP
honestly field improvisation isnt worth the sac to get rending strikes
think i'll stick with onslaught only
Kind of a friend teamup niche I guess
i've got 2 points now that i dont know what to do with
was gonna do hunter's resolve since i do sometimes pop stealth than reengage
mid horde
Is plasma gun bugged
And diff in stopping power or perks?
should i get nade tinker?
What nade you using
which nade you using, frags and kraks yes, smoke not really
If krak heck nah
only nade that should be used krak nades
Krak is dependant on if you wanna nuke but tbh
do auras stack? Does two vets running survivalist get 2% ammo per enemy killed?
ehh frags have their uses
no auras stack with the same aura
Krak has no blast radius
krak is an insta kill to any non boss level enemy
not a lot of ogryns run that tbh but i get what your thinking
and if you slap tinkerer on it, you can absolutely demolish monsters
Wym right after delight is dominate giving big rending boofs
trying but the grind is slow so is the dockets
ya got ordo gain on yer curios?
nope dont use that
would do auric but that shit is a plain nightmare on Oceania
does anyone have thoughts on the current rager situation? Im finding there's far too many of them
do hordes move faster when i have my back turned to them or something? i swear to god i have 80 mobility on my sword but i still get caught by enemies i definitely shouldve outran
plus no one even does it on Oceania servers anyways
Dum dum 4 isn't worth it, it's only 2.5% additive
Nah hoardes are slightly faster than you can flee
Close and Kill value?
so you can run away?
i swear some youtubers say that if i have a certain mob stat i should be able to outrun them
who let you out of the kitchen?
Retreat means abandonmemt of duty
Abandonment of duty means execution
You can take it to the commissar
Good if you hate big enemies
25% boost is no slouch
It also help with power sword mk4 push power combo on crushers to 2 tap
If Ogryns were more threatening that skill would be dope, but alas, they are not unless they pin you in a corner
It is, but it shares a tier with the 10% vs all Elite enemies
Which is way more valuable because a lot of the humanoid elites are actually dangerous
True
But if you can take it you should
If it does make breakpoints
Which it can for powersword apparently
Yeah if you need a certain breakpoint its deffo a good pick
Hellbore and plasma would like that imo in general
ugh guys give me a suggestion to work with here
who in the world, actually uses this talent?
Me
does this even proc
Ye in a hoarde
how often does it go up
You dont need to be in coherency to activate it
imma find u, and throw a cat at you
Good luck
Have a friend throw a grenade in a horde to guarantee procs
these
2.5% somehow activates more often than 10% but thats bc its easier to kill enemies than throw grenades en masses
i expect 2.5% any kill to proc more than 5% only elite/spec tbh
its why old demo team was so good
10% any kill for nade back
suggestions?
Is there a guide to the weapon variants, I'm digging autoguns but I want to know what the kinda "best" is for sustained fire
I know it's probably a braced autogun
IAGs give you thr best bang for buck when it comes to sustained fire
Especially Agripinaa
Dunno much about Graia
Braced imo just sprays bullets than shoot em anyway
everyone i ever heard talk about it says it is very good and comes up constantly
you playing damnation without low intensity?
it makes you better if you arent doing all the carrying
You'll know you have the urge if your screen has the funny yellow
Anyone have experience with Graia? Still dont understand
no brautos want FF DS
Columnus Infantry Autogun is the best for the fastest shooting gun
Agripinna Braced Autogun is the best for ammo efficiency and damage per shot. It also staggers ragers, which is really good.
so they can blast through a hordes to get to specials
OHH i thought you meant sustained fire the blessing
woops
I don't know what these mean
what melee weapon compliments a helbore lasgun well?
Fire frenzy Death spitter
Shovel
for sustained fire as in shooting a lot, I'd say the infantry auto guns and braced autoguns all fit the bill
fast swap speed and good horde clear, i'd say chsword or dclaw
Infantry is imo better if you wanna actually engage mid range
shovel if you wanna do the krieger larp
