Eh, I always struggle with Ogryn, they feel weak to me but I also don't play them as much, also due to how weak they feel comparatively.
As ogryn main, there are issues, he is not near close from being the weakest or worst class in the game but lot of the people just dislike because does not play like human sized
Still a great and fun class that can leave an impact in your lobbies if you have a smart and helpful ogryn in which lot of other ogryn players do lack the mindset
Recently had an ogryn just kept rushing ahead and be mad on voice chat

i heard 3x zealot 1x vet is a good strat. rotate books and have vet snipe ranged
the cheesiest cheese strat is to stealth past everything on archivum
archivum has often been seen as the easiest map, I failed at the finale in havoc 1.0
4 health & DR stacking zealots using shroud to speedrun through a level (usually sycorax)
Sycorax is the easiest standard map in the game because the events are short and can be done solo
You also don't have to stop for anything
First time you stay in one place for more than 2 minutes is end event
The only “hard” part is pushing through the staircase descent without anyone getting ledged off the map
Do daemonhosts leave if a different player dies for unrelated reasons? Think I've seen that happen but not sure

playing ~20 havoc and noticing that a lot of the time when we wipe its while I am focusing a captain/monstrosity while my teammates that were with me left. Should I not be committing to a loop with the boss chasing me?
depends what class are you playing

i'd keep pulling back towards them if possible, try to avoid being split up. however, they also should not be abandoning you
definitely dont be committing to a loop while they're all still alive, there's not really a need to
looping is more for creating chokepoints for the chaff to be easier to kill / create distance, not fighting a monstrosity.
the only monster that really needs any kiting is a burgle, to get behind it/ avoid the vomit, and to break LOS on rodin

In havoc whenever a monster spawn you full stop and kill, backtrack a bit because if you keep moving forward it will trigger multiple spawn
tbf if you have teammates who leave you when fighting a monster on any difficulty then they're not good

It takes about 1 minute to get downed at start on Heresy. Make sure you delay at the end until you reach the 12-15 minute mark to be safe.

Looking at the wiki/GL, Havoc levels 1-10 are supposed to be comparable to Malice difficulty- if I can solo regular Malice missions with bots, will I also be able to solo those Havoc levels? Trying to get into Havoc, but the party finder only ever has LFGs for levels 25+ lol
If you do an auric maelstrom you start at 16
you can't start a havoc mission with only yourself tho

the comparable levels is only in terms of base difficulty, havoc has a lot of hidden modifiers (outside of the two possible mission modifiers that all havoc missions have) that changes things up

What do Maelstroms do exactly?
extra modifiers to a mission, if it's auric it also has a different spawning mechanics that's what havoc uses

otherwise the rest should be self-explanatory
monstrous specialists also increase the spawning frequency of full monsters and also makes it so they can spawn during mid/endgame events

May anyone recommend a strategy or video that details what is meant by weapon combos and imementing effective block and push strategy. I do not feel like i ever using block and push mostly just dodge. Do zealot with chain sword

Certain attacks on weapons have different damage types (ie the push attack on crusher has higher finesse damage then the heavy attack)
For a video on blocking it just comes with practice, I can't think of a video
But whenever you need a bit of room or to stop a light weight enemies (poxwalkers/some specials) push

Yeah all thammer has going for it is boss 1 taps
Relic can do dumb huge boss damage but also has horde clear that doesn't blow
And crusher is a really fun stagger weapon
my crusher build got me through auric storm surviror, love the big turkey baster of death

Yo guys returning player here after 2 years. With this new Weapon system whats the RNG aspect on it then? Everyone gets God Rolled weapons or you still need some RNG like idk to get a High Roll DMG stat etc
The RNG comes from the distribution of max values for stats
usually people go for 80/80/80/80/60 distribution with 60 being the "dump stat"
The max value stats will always equal to 380 and one stat cannot go over 80

now you just don't need to roll until you get the best possible roll on the active stats, you just need to get the best max stats, any one weapon can be upgraded to the max

Is there any chance if a curio having +2 Wounds, or is it only ever +1?
And how does the rating on curios work? I’d have to check, but it feels like I can put the same buffs on a 200 that I can a 390.

I don't know the scaling of hp and toughness, but they both reach max around 400 or so (21/17)
stamina reaches 3 only at 410+, at 400 it's a rounding error if it says 3 and only gives 2 instead
but the perks you give them are always the same
Siblings would i be remiss in using 3x 17 percent toughness curios as zealot martyr. Perks would be +5 health +5 toughness . Would the third perk be well served for toughness regeneration (30 percent) or gunner resists.
I like 3 wound, so that I can sit at 25% hp and still be at max martyrdom stacks
I think all my zealot curios are +toughness, +revive speed, +stamina regen

you need 2 wound curios to get full benefit from martyrdom, otherwise just run IJ for stat buffs
also toughness regen is bad, it’s never worth taking as it only applies to regen from coherency, which is a tiny amount of toughness (note that if a talent says it buffs toughness replenishment, that usually means it buffs toughness generated from all sources)
i’d also suggest taking at least 2 gunner res perks on ur curios

Hey quick question, I'm starting to play the game as a new player, I would like to play a class that is capable of damage but also support towards the team, got any suggestions or tips?
They can all be spec'd for a support type role
Like Vet shout ability is great for sustain. Same with book Zealot. Psyker can take bubble shield, and Ogryn can go heavy tank / crowd control.
All that is to say, pick whichever class sounds the most appealing to you. Psyker is probably hardest to start with, but if you learn on Psyker when you eventually make a vet, zealot, or ogryn, the game will feel easier
I do like the idea of psyker for the mage support, with ranged magic abilities.
What is book zealot?
Psyker is probably the most unique class in terms of abilities and mechanics
"Book" is the prayer special ability. You basically whip out a holy book that makes enemies cower and refills your teams toughness. It's like an "ok, timeout, reset" ability that can save a run multiple times
Vet "shout" is similar in that it refills toughness and knocks enemies back. Book lasts longer and has a longer cooldown to balance it.
Currently started with Vet, will continue for a level or two more, if I don't feel any better about it, I'll give a go to psyker.
Psyker can use power sword right? is it a viable thing you can actually use?
Vet is a great class though the most traditional / vanilla. Zealot was my first and I still consider it my main, but I've gotten every class including dlc to max level and kitted out.
They have "force" swords instead of power swords. It's basically the same thing but warp energy. There are both 1H and 2H variants and the 2H (force greatsword) is considered one of the best melee weapons in the game especially with a "scriers gaze" build.
One thing I'll note is that every class feels pretty boring for the first 10-15 levels until you've spent enough talent points to feel different. The real game doesn't really start until level 30 (max level) which honestly doesn't even take that much time. IIRC you get about ~1 level per round if doing quickplay with bonus xp
I really didn't like vet until recently. Once I realized vet has great tools for every situation everything clicked
Speed=/=connection. I have fast DL speeds but awful connection outside of region.
Get an oggy with taunt to help, bring flamer. Oggy aggros wave 3 of mortis while you stealth deaggro till big pile up. Throw stuns, burn everything.
im not quite sure what decides if you have bad connection outside of region other than internet speed
but it is certainly fast stable and most games don't struggle like this one
i think most games give like 20 ping or lower for me so 40 - 60 is a lot
i would say my case here is pretty.... ironclad.

Connection, so basically out of your hands is just what route it takes to the server, which can be quite spicy if it chooses to run loops or through a damaged cable. VPNs to force a path through a service's route may help but still, can get congested.

Tbh E's whole grindset is these damn thumbnails and video titles.
Realistically, the most you get is a load of statistical analysis with no prognosis.
I've been burnt many times.
I think Carapace itself is fine, however it is a chokepoint on build diversity.
A lot of weapons in the game are DREADFUL and utterly damning if you happen to be carrying them and the system spawns a crusher wave against you.
Either due to their movesets, or simply how much of their damage is attenuated by the armour.
In my experience atleast when I look at my melee weapon pick- my first question is "Am I going to regret this the minute crushers and maulers start rolling in?" And a LOT of weapons get crossed off immediately.
I try to balance this out with melee, range and blitz choices
this allows for more build diversity as usually if the range si strong againbst carapace it is not that good against waves similar theisis goes for many melee weaponbs. as for the moveset i find if you play the weapons a bit you can adjust to it. sure with some it is easier to deal with the crushers but it is possible for any weapon that is good against carapace.
as for the blitzes. most classes do have a blitz that is good/decent against crushers. albeit veteran and hive scum are king here in my opinion. ogryn falls flat btu the can stagger crushers with any melee weapon wthey have. i have yet to try the arbites remote explosion against crushers but i found that the normal arbites maul or shield and maul are good against crushers, especially when combined with breakl the line.
i see carapace as less of a problem tbh. i do agree however that some weapons could benefit greatly from a balance patch to make them less sucky against carapace. don't get me wrong its good that weapons are effective vs different things but usually weapons that are great vs carapace are great against almost any other armor as well.

is there any way to get curios above 400 with the arbites? Highes i've gotten so far is 400 with 16% toughnes. On my Vet i continiously get 420+ with 17 toughnes

the numeric Ui mod tells me i have 4 dashes on the relic blade and the spear head boltgun but the original dash bar counter shows 3 that are good dashes? what is correct?

what does melk gamble do vs brunts
the problem is that usually things that are good at horde clear are abysmal at carapace, and things that are great at carapace have at least acceptable horde clear, so you hardly lose anything taking a carapace melee
combat knife, shivs , tac axe
all single target weapons but with good enough horde clear
dclaw, hsword, whatever else
horde clear weapons with horrid carapace damage
Melk can give you RNG curios as fast as you have Ingots (weeklies currency) to burn. For the most part, weapons are just as easy to farm from Brunt since you can see the leveled caps and just spent 10K dockets of the weapon type you want until you get something decent to upgrade. Waiting on the shop RNG can get you something decent every week or two if you login every day at Melk's and more often for Brunts shop rotation. If you have time to kill just snipe curios from the Melk daily curated shop or Brunts 2 curio options that rotate every hour or so.
how do you gamble curios on melk? Is that how you get +3 stam easily?
You go to Melk, choose Mystery Acquisitions, select curios and spam buy until you have what you want. Might take 100K Ingots or more to farm a decent set of endgame curios (after you have leveled your character). For Stamina, you want a curio rating of 410 or higher as there is a bug at lower ratings that shows +3 Stamina but only gives you +2 stamina in the mission.

I wouldn't take up people on those kind of offers, they just carry you at the highest rank and kinda destroys the whole notion of ppl having the clearance means they're competent
just farm resources at your own pace, if you can complete weekly havoc missions by your own without being carried then it's a good supplement

There is a setting in gameplay to change stamina from percentage to actual number of stamina bars.
edit: Options > Interface and turning off "Show Stamina with 25% dividers"

melee is always going to be your primary horde clear due to needing ammo and not every horde needing a flamer to be used
however flamer can very easily clear a screen

id suggest flamer to be used against dense packs of elites
the only thing a flamer wont kill is bosses and crushers

maybe you are pushing them too late? Some movement in the game is kind of slow with weapons so it could be a combination of those things
also if you have high ping you might need to be pushing even earlier
if youre mid havoc, its a lost cause. otherwise, steam name ( who are you mod ), or if theres a mod to view friend codes just keep track of those in the future, idk if it exists tho)

Is there any good resource on the AI director? Both in general and also maybe havoc specifically. I think my gameplay mechanics are pretty good now, but my lack of game knowledge is hurting my havoc climb in the low 30s. I don't really know when or where I can safely push, boss trigger points, what type of enemies spawn infinitely if I turtle / run backwards, etc.

auric is just the next level up from damnation. the only thing to note is that it doesn't increase enemy health or dmg iirc. just spawn rates and enemy group compositions

literally any sound effect generated by the psyker
peril is 0 but i doubt they coded it to be fully disabled

It would be nice if the Sniper audio cue was a bit louder. I only learned that they had one from today. And I've got two level 30s. So, I'm not insanely new, but not really a veteran either. I think that Night Mode audio helps with cues.

if you're learning, stick with one and get competent if you want to work up to playing higher difficulties

yea arbites is very strong in terms of resilience so you can get far while still making mistakes that would get you downed on another class
scum is very strong in terms of damage and is pretty unforgiving in terms squishiness
Both the ranged and melee ults give you full toughness reset on Scum. Stim can also restore a lot of toughness. It doesn't have as many get out of jail free abilities as other classes but can be solid at surviving once you get the hang of things to prioritize avoiding and movement tech. Ranged immunity ult with cooldown reduction buffs and melee immunity slide is solid. You just can't depend on tanking hits or get reckless out in the open.

The thing is, often with hive scum, the best defense is being evasive
Depends if you want to go melee or ranged or full chem. Every "tree" can be tweaked to be good at dmg and defense.
Your best defense as scum will be mobility and knowing where to be in which situation, weaving in and out of enemies.

It's difficult to specialize in every path. The result will be a weaker build overall
I would recommend making multiple builds and trying them in matches to see what feels best for you
Personally I find focusing on melee and evasion to be useful. The needle gun can take care of armoured enemies fairly easily, without requiring a lot of talent points

Whatever you personally enjoy most. The balancing is good enough that most weapons can work well if the talent tree is built around it. Personally though, I prefer shivs, so I can apply bleed and whatever the chemical DoT is called, then quickly dodge out of harm's way

It's not cost efficient but if you're sitting on a ton of funds you can purchase crappy white items from Brunt's armory until you get the perfect roll and then upgrade that.

if you get a damage bonus against a certain armor class, does it apply to all enemies that have that class of armor or only when you hit that armor directly
Damage increases to armor types only effect damage to parts of the body hit
Carapace will increase damage to mauler head since its cara but not the rest of its body since its flak
DoTs and explosion work differently btw
they hit something called "body mass" iirc
'25% damage to carapace armor' would therefore be a lot more clear than 'carapace armored enemies'

My enemy is Auric Crusher, this is my weapon, it is Power Maul with 106 damage on light attack swing towards carapace armour. Im intrested on about the 25% rending blessing but mechanically and mathematically its so hard to figure out what "rending" means ?

you can do the puzzle on a lower difficulty then do hardmode without needing to do the puzzle each attempt

and get the puzzle penance through just beating them
unless they changed the penance you only get the hard mode penance from beating hard mode on Damnation (maybe auric now?). The puzzle penance could be done on any difficulty but wasn't unlocked by using the skip bell to hard mode at least at launch.

They nerfed the fight around the time Havoc dropped. Used to be you could not be revived because the respawn area was locked off (in hard mode). Pretty sure they decreased the enemy spam in Hard Mode a bit as well.
The explosive enemies when they die have a chance to refill your grenades.

My auric event runs so far have been all in the same scheme where I go in with 3 randoms of which two will go down and disconnect in the first encounter and some others will take their place until the end of the run
if i had my way id get rid of poxbursters and being knocked off the map, two most goofy and punishing things in the game that end runs very unsatisfyingly
