The suits who ignored l4d2 DRG and VT2
And decided this was a good idea
Probably happened after they scrapped the original system
does the base rating of a grey sword affect how good the blessing are?
Ie, if a sword has core stats of 310 instead of something juicy like 377, is it worth even gambling?
it does, but the degree to which is not clear
if you level up you feel the effect very strongly
like, 200 item level almost never roll T3s
it's very hard to know when the roll rate differences could be low, like 5-10%
i personally take the strat that yep itemlevel of all kinds helps consecrate rolls, but who knows i could be wasting plas
so, if i get a super scuffed first blessing or buy it from the store, and i know i'm never going to use it with it on, i'll replace it with the highest tier of a blessing i don't want i have available
sorta the way I do it is I go about it like I am trying to get a good weapon and not just trying to get blessings
is fire shotty a horde weapon or is it bad?
*the fire shot specifically
is the revolver blessing "trick shooter" currently working? im testing it in game and it doesnt seem to be
unless im somehow using it incorrectly
didnt crab say it isnt work
hey can someone explain the difference between primary action and the attack patterns please
Primary action just refers to what happens when you press left mouse button, so for example in the case of the antax mk v combat axe, your primary action is your vertical diagonal downwards chop, as opposed to special action which is the quick forward jab with the head of the axe that does a large amount of stagger
Attack pattern refers to the move set of X weapon, for example the antax mk v combat axe's attack pattern goes vertical diagonal downwards chop x2 repeat ad infinitum
🤨
i meant more the numbers
there's like five different weapon damage numbers in this game
yes, depending on armour category. some weapons are, for instance, good vs flak, but weak vs maniak.
dakkatran, as you can see, does straight up zero to carapace, outside of crits.
Oh sorry, couldn't tell it was about the numbers from what you asked
the long-ass table is the only way of representing this info, unfortunately.
and to make sense of it, you need to remember which enemies have which armour class.
it's not always obvious.
i get all that but there's primary/secondary actions, the attack patterns and the damage percentage multiple
Then that table represents what each thing does, how much damage to X armor type the primary does, how much damage to X armor type the special action does
not quite sure what you mean by "attack pattern" here. guns just shoot. it's a melee thing mostly.
How much damage secondary does, not all weapons have a meaningful special action of course
For example, that gun has a flashlight
as a special action
Which does not do any damage
but yeah, the system is pretty convoluted, now that you mention it like that.
for instance, you got yellow bars, which define how well rolled a weapon is. some weapons have damage percentage multiple on some of those bars, meaning you can get the very same model being more or less effective vs some armour types.
but that's just internal mechanic, the end result can still be seen at this table you got.
there are 9 different numbers for shooting an armoured near target and yet if i shoot one in the meat grinder it ranges from 39 to 100
blessings and perks can come into play, along with whether you are hitting his weakspot or not etc.
if i have two of the same guns but with different action numbers and different damage percentages which is better
the one that does more damage
even if the other one has a higher action
if they're the same guns, they're only different by yellow bar percentages.
and those are always higher = better.
now, if you have one gun with low damage roll, and another with low, say, collateral roll, then comparison gets interesting.
yea just go in meatgrinder and fire both guns and see which kills the bad guy faster, you don't really need to calculate precise numbers because it's not really applicable in a real game where the enemy you're shooting at is probably receiving at least 2 or 3 different damage sources
and waste all of my money on guns i'm not going to use
that's before taking into account that each of your teammate is hitting them at a different spot, with different blessings, with different perks and weapons and from different distances (this affects damage), whether you are affected by teammates' passives such as psykers that lets you do more elite dmg etc.
The introduction of a single extra teammate in a real game throws all your numbers out the window
because class passives will complicate all damage formulas
Just use a flamer then you don't have to worry about damage numbers because the map will be dead.
i'm not asking about that
he's a vet I think
Thanks for coming to my tedx talk
Roll zealot
Discard your chains
Abandon vet life
It's not too complicated once you understand it, the problem is Fatshark is allergic to information
You can just get more money tho
Worst case scenario you run a lower difficulty with a weapon you somehow got stuck with and buy another with the money from the mission
One thing the game could communicate better is movesets and actually allow us to see a weapon's stats from Brunt's armory by previewing a 50% roll or something
Does anyone know if there's a voice chat button for controller?
What is the best ‘best’ class at the moment? A friend asked me and I’m relatively new here so I’m not sure. I know the player and situation will always be a defining factor but just a general ‘op/good’ class. I main Psyker and I love it but not sure what is considered OP
Veteran and by a long shot
Oh okay, I’ll let him know! Guess it’s a bit easier to pick up? Point and shoot
Yes that as Vet is the most intuitive class but also because due to a combination of feats you become obscenely tanky to the point that you are able to walk forward into 30 enemies on the hardest difficulty and come out without taking any health damage whatsoever as long as you can keep shooting
Unwavering Focus + Volleyfire and the lvl 5 feat that refunds toughness on elite kill ensures you are almost always at full toughness and take less toughness damage than you are gaining making you a bullet sponge that enemy fire disappears into while you yourself gun them down with an ult that can last infinitely as long as there are enemies to shoot
Can anyone tell me what these signify if anything?
the highest difficutly you have completed the mission on
the one with the skull I think is heresy
the most frequently asked question returns. imagine if fatsharks have managed to create some sort of help screen.
Is there a help screen?
nope, which is why it's the most faq.
oh it's a faq in here, not in the faq channel.
not just in here, in all the channels i'm pretty sure. but yes.
is there a way to know how much an item will sell before bartering it?
Tbh it depends on playstyle
I'd say all classes are fairly balanced and there is no bad class
As mentioned above, vet is easiest to get in for non tide player cuz shooty things and tankiness
I'd say out of my 3 lvl 30 chars, vet is my main, for tryharding headshots and such, ogryn is when I want a smooth damnation+ run, insane tankiness and support capabilities with array of CC options, and psyker I have yet to master, it's very squishy for me in damnation
Zealot feels...werid to use, can't feel the class yet, but it's 11 lvl so can't make a conclusion
hi, should i replace one of these with lvl 2 ghost
366 ochre
Ye I'm level 21
Ive seen people use the meatgrinder with active enemies for training. So far I don't seen an option to activate this. Am I missing something?
does the stamina curio only go up to 2 or 3?
active enemies? such as them fighting you? that's a mod
creature spawner allows for AI to be enabled there
any recommendations for someone trying to get heavy weight champion penance?
just play damnation. it used to be the hardest penance in the game, but after recent changes in enemy spawns, large ogryn blobs are quite common.
Anyone know of a guide that shows how to install mods?
there is a decent step-by-step reddit guide, it has gifs that illustrate each step
anyone help me get a panacea? its just the 90% monstrocity with psyker
If you still need it, we could try to nab 2 more and do it
i can help with other stuff aswell
I also need to do that one
then we need 1 more i guess
Aight, both of you add me on Steam through the friend code I have on my nickname
i added you
need help with penance "Going out with a bang" is this the right channel to ask help ?
Can anyone verify or deny that toughness blocks all melee bleedthrough at 100 points and above. Or is it 100% and above?
melee bleedthrough is completely stopped at 100% toughness, not >100 flat toughness
you can eat a crusher hit at 100% toughness without taking a point of HP damage. But let's say that you have 150 max toughness and you currently have 100 toughness. Then, you will eat 33% of that melee damage to your HP.
idk what to say
😔 undiagnosed heart diseases can lead to the sudden death of athletes, such as our runner here
man forgot he set the tf2 killbind to w
So I been seeing people with extra details to their UI when in game. Anyone know how to do it?
probably with mods like NumericUI or CrosshairHUD
Will it get you banned now?
nah mods are fine within a certain reasonable limit
EAC is currently disabled
here's their policy on modding if you care to read https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/darktide-modding-policy/75407
e.g., stuff like healthbars in missions have been fine
Ah I see
here's a image/text guide for installing mods https://dmf-docs.darkti.de/#/installing-mods
The Darktide Mod Framework is an open-source, community-run framework of modules that provides enhanced modding capabilities and support.
Is there a performance mod? Whenever a horde comes my fps dies
stuff like that is usually just tweaks to your user_settings.config file to remove some particles n whatnot
besides user_settings stuff, I don't think there's been stuff to tweak the graphic options directly even more than what you can
I keep finding generic copy pasted videos on youtube with in game settings change. It's just when the horde comes then the fps dies. Otherwise I'm pretty fine
there's stuff like this https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/1, which is mostly just a user_settings.config file
seems outdated though since that particular one was released right when mods were allowed
and I think the settings of most mods are stored in your user_settings.config file, so there's that when tinkering with it or especially when making it read-only
Hmm, I will look into it. Ty for the help homie
what's with the purification protocol penance? It says "kill 10 elite terrors" but the progress bar says 1/3
Right? Idk
Probably kill 10 of each crusher, bulwark, reaper
I just had the... weirdest game of dark tide i've ever played -
It felt like the games tick rate was running at 120%. All the enemy and player animations were sped up.
Am I going crazy? the rest of the team felt the same
Quick question, how do the global conditions work? What is their time turnover? I've had pox hounds for almost a week and I'm wondering if its a weekly turnover
@formal granite No, I didn't clip it. I don't have anything setup to clip with (I don't generally make clips, unfortunately). I'm gonna submit a bug report though and throw in the logs they ask for. Wish I did have a clip
And it was not just ping making your weapon animations jerk around, everything was faster?
Does anyone know, if there is a "Low"-Variant of the Grim-Weekly-Contract at Melk?
Only saw Medium (8) and High (16)
I think there is, but don’t forget you can get scriptures too, the text isn’t updated but scrips work
what you mean with text isn't updated?
the contract just reads "Grimoires picked up" but scriptures count too.
@hallow hornet can you give this another nudge? it's an easy fix
on it
thanks!
I think I've gotten a low grim weekly recently .. it was 4 iirc
<@&735928989146939404>
Thanks for letting me know
This good?
low damage roll is unfortunate but reroll sprint into something useful like flak or unyielding and it's good
Are the perks from refine item on curios strictly random or is there any limitation to what can roll?
random, as far as I know. the whole system is random all the way down.
you can't roll the same perk twice
they are random, in the sense that you will get 1/20 of the options available at random
they are correlated to item level however when it comes to determining the perk level
as in probability or as in you literally can't roll too high/low depending on ilevel?
probability. a curio with an item level that is low will mostly roll 1s and 2s, near the cap of 80 will mostly roll 3s, with the occasional 4 and very rare 2
it's easier to be confident about these if you assume perk rerolling has the same odds as rolling, which imo i do
since you can get a big sample for free
that makes sense, thanks!
Thrust IV seems broken lol
any advice on the best perks+blessings for plasma gun and which mk?
theres only 1 plasma gun
Anyone have any advice on going for the Pick N Mix psyker penance?
commsplex's midevent tends to spam a bunch of gunners and shotgunners at you; they'll spawn from the back
pray that your teammates aren't that good and snipe them
Do it with a group
yes, baross espionage is the best spot. elites spawn real far away from the team. if you position yourself between a hacking spot and an elevator entrance, near the respawn totem, you'll be able to see incoming dudes before your teammates. so just pop your ult (hopefully you took KB feat for it) and go to town.
for added safety you can scream in the ingame voice chat "don't shoot the gunners".
another option is any multidog map. small eye-burning dogs count for pick-n-mix.
The only good thing hunting grounds brought to the game
uhm... what does this do?
new patch broke alot of the feats
Yooo they buffed Plasma :)
it eats up your stamina while you're looking down sights, and grants a huge crapton of crit in return.
since vet has chronic stamina issues, it's usually not worth it.
except in some rare builds.
10% stamina per sec while aiming + 5% per shot, I think for 30% crit chance and -60% sway
can someone explain what the difference here is between these blessings?
different staves since you only have one unlocked
eh... yes... these are 2 blessings on 2 different staves
wait, you need to unlock a blessing?
so why is there a magnifying glass?
becuase you haven't sacrificed one to get it, each staff is counted as a different weapon type
when it comes to blessings
Was the axe changes nerfs/buffs or neutral?
buff
looking for some people to help with Malleous Monstronum penance
That other kill target mission in the sewers. Before you enter the big platform from the sewers just start popping heads on the other side, there's always like 10-20 specials and elites there.
Alright friends I gotta ask cause I got a new keyboard a while ago.
Are dead inputs happening frequently for other people? Weapon switching failing to work is happening a lot and is verrry annoying
for me yes, sometimes have to spam keys when switching from melee/ranged/nade during hordes
Yeah, it's a thing here
Yeah, some matches the game drops so many inputs
looking for anyone willing to help with Malleus Monstrum
Anyone want to help me as a new player
Welcome to Darktide, how can we help you?
Is there an optimal route for the finale of Excise Vault? Is it the same spots each time?
it's one of the harder finales imo
stick together, there are a few spots you can throw up but imo it's not as worthwhile as the other one with canisters
when you kill enemies, do they de-materialise?
eventually, there's a setting for the corpses iirc
Hi guys, Can someone help me with On Overwatch penence
Waiting until they fix it
I need some advice for the heavyweight penance (ram 6 ogryns as skullbreaker): which maps do you think are especially useful for that? Sadly, I likely have to get it with randoms
currently I'm only queueing for damnation high intensity, or is a regular damnation already enough? Or heresy high intensity?
high intensity is more likely, but regular damnation or even low tens has a nice chance of spawning a huge blob of ogryns. they became much more prevalent after a recent major patch.
as long as you play damnation and run an unstoppable feat, you should get it reasonably soon.
man i must be unlucky
ey guys just wondering whats the channel to ask for a team for help with a penance?
The LFG chats should be it
in terms of target and mass for combat, rather than the graphic
do they basically vanish as soon as their health hits 0?
and not block shots
for exmple
Hey, can Deamonhosts spawn behind you, is it a bug or a new feature of new update?
it's a bug; I particularly notice it on Consignment Yard where you enter the area with the catwalk a few rooms before the finale, where the Daemonhost will spawn in an area below where you just came from
It's probably been fixed long ago, but near the beginning of the map, Relay Station has this tunnel where the Daemonhost could spawn right on top of you (regardless of whether it's been fixed or not, my PTSD prevents me from walking through that tunnel ever again)
it has happened forever, yeah. my theory it is it has something to do with the players going past some sort of boss spawn trigger zone and backtracking through it
gotten better over time tho
anyone got any ideas why i can't earn some blessings on my psyker? O_o
you have it equiped?
Nah, quite a few items had it greyed out
hmm
I need to do it to
restarted game, equipped the same melee weapon on all loadouts and still ;o
Never seen that before
What does this Blessing?
Extra crit based on peril
At I, iirc, 2,4,8,10%
But I haven't looked at the T1 version in too long xD
thx
seems like the answer was: mods
why can't i get rid of the golden notification dot after equipping everything I have unlocked and why do the saved outfits have red ! on them?
Cuz game bugged
sweet, the red ! weren't there when i was last logged in
I take it you didn't alter the loadouts outside of the loadout screen, like maybe consecrating a weapon or some other crafting thing? I don't know what the exclamation is, but my guess is the game can't find the item the loadout was assigned with, though it could also be a remnant of something you already fixed, like how my psyker so far has a permanent new weapon notification for a sword I sold
@frosty crag there's a mod that can clear out the notification dot, called "nothing new".
Turn it on once, and it basically unsticks it to work again. As much as it does, anyway.
Bug since launch, either use the mod above or keep it
yea i was guided on how to mod from someone on here yesterday, some really good ones out there like 3rd person etc
thanks tho guys
Finesse is ass but the rest of that is a hard cop
im looking a people for help to get Malleus Monstrum (psyker achiviment)
What difficulty level is best for monstrosities to spawn?
I'd think Damn but I ran 4 straight missions without getting a kill
Thx
hey sorry to bother but im new to this game. i got it on the game pass. will i be able to play with friends on steam? im on pc aswell
no crossplay atm but they are considering it in the future
there is no cross-play between gamepass and steam for darktide
thanks for letting me know
can you put a level 3 blessing on a gun that has a lvl 1 blessing currently
You can swap current blessing for blessings of any tier as long as you've earned it at Hadrons
T1 blessing can be swapped out for a T4, T4 can be swapped for T1
Also think well of the blessing you want to replace, because the one you don't replace gets locked and you can only re-replace the blessing on the slot you did first
What is the best tactical axe and how does it differ from the combat axes?
never tried one but was curious since i like rashad axe
I turn in weapons for blessings all the time, and mostly don't get the blessings saved for another weapon. poof
What am I doing wrong?
blessings are sorted by families
so if you get a blessing on a devils claw, it wont be available for a chainsword
or an axe
But should be for a devil's claw
what did you take the blessing off of and then try to equip on
unless im misunderstanding your question
mk1 taxe has the simple easy sideways sweep heavies
yeah its a little annoying
taxes in general have pretty nice dodge distance, so they're good for evasive fencing
and you spam the heavies to stunlock humanoid targets including ragers
yeah brutal momentum and decimator/headtaker
So it's not just me?
im guessing they mostly struggle with unyielding/carapace
much like the combat axes
no its just how its designed
yeah they're probably a little worse off than combat axes vs ogryns
but horde clear in turn
but their heavies wind up fast for general enemy smacking
ah ok
ill probably pair it with my plasma gun then
and stick to rashad for mk8 autogun and whatnot
a Brutal Momentum antax/rashad probably beats them at dense horde clear
since nobody really talks about Brutal Momentum taxes as much as BM antax
i do have brutal momentum 4 on my rashad
id need to get it again for a taxe lol
mostly wanna try taxe just for diversity
no yeah taxes are fun to go on a romp with
it's actually hilarious how many elites you can slug to death with them
because they flinch so hard
Tactical axes are faster and finesse-oriented axes that are pretty sweet on crit stuff like veteran's +5% or zealot's bleed crit build, and they all come with a special attack that is a bonk combo as opposed to the combat axe's single attack. They can also get brutal momentum and have some interesting variety among them, like the Mk2 taxe having two sweep heavies and the Mk4 (or whichever is the middle number) having sweeps on all lights (the Mk2 has an overhead on its third light).
They are, admittedly, not on the same level of horde clearing with BM as a combat axe is, and they also contribute a bit more towards carpal tunnel due to the faster clickies, but they're still a fun weapon to use every now and then and the only non-ogryn melee I can recall that actually has a dedicated crit chance stat to raise it about 11% more.
ok they sound neat
Flak damage followed by maniac damage
This perk combination will hold true for 90% of all melee weapons across all classes
Since majority of enemies in the game wears flak and specialists who are the most disruptive threats are mostly maniac
Outliers exist like the thunderhammer which wants 25 Unyielding for deleting bosses but that's a niche only thammer can fill so it adjust perks accordingly
How do you use the plasma gun? Ive only played it three times and I cant understand the appeal. It seems to be only viable for elites and ogryns, meaning that you need to stay far from anything and you will spend 70% of your game using your melee weapon because the gun cant handle regular flak melee mobs
I dont think its viable in T5
It’s true that the low ammo economy demands you use melee more. But the fast equip speed helps play into this a lot, because you can quickly switch from melee and disintegrate a priority target with its 100% accurate shots
I've used the plasmagun in t5
With a good statted plasma gun, you will delete any common shooter with an uncharged shot, and the minor cleave lets you get 2 for 1s occasionally
your shots also penetrate through thin walls, thicker if charged, which is excellent for easy elite kills or priority rescue shots
But yeah, do NOT waste your ammo on common melee grunts unless it’s an emergency
use it to kill two at a time sometimes
if you’re the only person on the team who can fight shooters, you’re just gonna have to bite the bullet and spend your ammo clearing them
the latest buff at least guaranteed its a one hit kill anywhere you hit them
I just dont see how its a better option than helbore2 or boltgun. They have less drawbacks and they do the same job
But better overall, offering more solutions
the only advantages plasma has to those weapons is
you can switch in and out of melee very easily
because of the big magazine and cooling down while in melee
and because it can shoot through walls
Bolter and Lucius are definitely better for people who like to avoid melee
Camo seems applicable to the plasma tho
I only really use camo for objective hacking or teammate revives
what level 30 feat are you using with plasma?
I run Counterfire because the headshot bonus lets me kill everything better with uncharged headshots, and I can kill trash shooters through walls to keep the chain going
You shoot bruisers?
No
if i extract headtaker from a TH, im assuming i cant put the extracted one onto a heavy sword since the precentages vary so much? (TH headtaker at T4 gives 5% power per stack and heavy sword at T3 gives 12,5% power)
also do loadouts work? cant figure out if theyre bugged or im stupid
blessings are shared over different marks of the same weapon, but never between two different types of weapons
so there are two THs, so you could share between them, and there are three heavy swords, and they all share, but you can't put a TH blessing on a heavy sword nor a heavy sword blessing on a devil claw sword
oki,ty
what about ordo docket curio bonuses to mission rewards? are they working since the after mission summary of all the stuff you get does not display the 30% bonus im currently using on my curios
They do work but they are inherently nerfed due to the guarantee of drops from every single mission
Then what's the problem?
Enjoy 20 blue weapons in a row instead ye faithful
Plasma works best with the optic feat that lets you see through walls because it has the best wallbang in the game being able to pierce solid walls allowing you to turn it on, track and take down specialists (biggest threat on T5) before they've even walked out of the spawn doors yet
In addition to wallbanging specialists from across the entire play area with virtually no damage falloff, you also hold the premier #1 bulwark killing ranged weapon, which is vital since the existence of even a single bulwark in mixed hordes usually changes the melee dynamics entirely and your zealot/ogryns will really appreciate you deleting it off their screen so they can swing freely into mooks without having their weapons stuck on the shield
Question on rerolling perks, Does it only Re-Roll from the same tier or can you up/down tier a perk?
Tier of replaced perk doesn't matter
the liklihood of rolling tiers is influenced by itemlevel somehow, which is very easy to notice if you pay attention to what you routinely reroll. on a level 77+ curio you mostly get T3s with somewhat rare T4s and very rare T2s. weapons seem a little harsher, you roll T2s more often on 380s
Hi, new to discord, if this isn't the right place to ask, let me know. I'm trying to do a penance for my psyker, malleous monstronum, but it seems impossible to do without a team helping. I've been told in chat to ask here for help. Is this the right channel? If other psykers are trying to do the penance, we may help each other.
You can gather some people in one of the LFG chats
Are Blessings earned shared amongst weapons of the same category? ie. if I get Trauma tier 4 for the Mk1 Catachan, can I in future put that on the Mk 7 Catachan?
bless you! and thank you so much 🙂
makes sense about the staves though, I appreciate the clarification as well
do higher tier blessing usually roll when upgrading to orange rarity or do i have equal chance of getting a T4 blessing when upgrading to blue
Can't be proven, there is no hard data
For plasteel economy just do upgrades to blue and trash if it's bad
rely on Big E and Melks for your T4 blessings
No more efficient way to do it atm
Hey everyone. Is anybody free atm on Game Pass to help me get some penances? 🙂 Pretty please
it sure seems that way, or is broadly reported, but yeah yvanna is absolutely right this stuff is ultimately all serverside
i personally push to blue when i'm hunting blessings as something from brunts costs 3x to bring from blue to gold as it did from white to blue (4x if you get a store green, they're great for this)
Any place I can check all the cosmetics in the game?
got T3 unstable power and deflector on my deimos and thinking of swapping one of them for slaughterer wich one should i choose?
deflector feels nice but i dont get much use out of it, someone tell me how usefull unstable power is
So is there a general meta for curios? Feel like having toughness regen is the strat so you can keep that free hit as much as possible. Maybe split main blessings between wound, health, and toughness to round thing out
unstable power stacks up to 20% at t4
even t3 is like
15%?
or something
so it's pretty good if you ride high on peril
nope it doesn't
I think they mentioned it stacking in a patch(I do know it stacks) but they never changed the description
nice
well ill swap deflector for slaughterer IV once i get it
once i get it
once i get it it it
there are several blessings like this, never trust the descriptions. just ask in this server
depends on the class, tbh. really good players can get away without running a wound curio in heresy/damnation, but it's also recommended to bring one on the human classes when you first make the jump. on the other hand, ogryn always has at least three wounds so he never has to bring one. stuff like that
toughness regen is fucking strong though so I'd recommend it on anyone
basically try to find what makes you die the least
toughness vs hp
as it is different for every player
can also mix and match'
yeah even on ogryn there are plenty of players who run 2xhp 1xtoughness just for that extra toughness buffer against a dreg stalker salvo, whereas myself and plenty of players swear by 3xhp just for the fat >500hp bar
both are viable and meta in their own ways
Do blessings work across different weapons of the same basetype?
Like, if I claim a blessing from an ironhelm thunder hammer, will it be available on the crucis thunder hammer?
yes
sick, thanks
is...there like some spot i can go to look at all the unlocked blessings I have?
the only way I know is owning a particular weapon and trying to rebless it, but i wanted to see if there was some other way
Guess not
Blessed
anyone have a link to that site that lets you check the shop via API
More exciting: the author is trying to figure out a way to let you browse the blessings from your inventory, without having the items in question. example #3,427 of modders adding functionality FS should have added lol
(unrelated to above) Does anyone know, can you only get Rank 4 blessings when upgrading at Hadron if doing Purple > Gold, or are they possible as a first Blessing slot?
they absolutely could at the launch of the crafting update, i got several power sword t4s that way
inc power cycler, eventually
is there a hidden lock saying that certain curios can't roll T4 perks? i have a solid orange curio that i'm trying to get T4 gunner resistance on and as far as I can tell it hasn't rolled any T4 perks after more than 6000 rerolls. if it has, they were a vanishingly tiny percentage.
my other curio got it after 158 rolls
I don't think that we have anything confirmed, but there's at least quite strong anecdotal evidence that if the item level is too low, you can't get t4 on it.
the perks you reroll correlate strongly to the itemlevel of the item, in particular curios
it's super obvious if you use crafting while leveling, which while now viable a lot of people still don't like doing
also i think the mod makes it less obvious since you don't really pay attention to the rolls? that's my hypothesis, it's very evident
bizarre that I have a +19% max health curio with two level 4 perks and a +18% max health curio that apparently can never have a level 4 perk, ever
well the base item level goes from 1-80
i think an 18 is well under 70, since the cap is 21
It’s at 65. Is 70 the cutoff for a level 4 perk?
no it's like 77 to get maximum utility, and to be totally clear it's just a range, extremely rarely you get outliers
when i tested a 77 i found that 3 was by far the most likely outcome, with 4 being the second most and 2 being very rare (approx 1/100 in my little informal testing)
but i've seen outliers occasionally of like, weapons with tier 1 or whatever
just a big probability table somewhere
yeah I’m getting mostly 3s here, some 2s, but really literally 0 4s. Curio crafting is very opaque
i am pretty sure all items work this way broadly, but it's very hard to test. a 380 item for sure rolls more 2s than an 80 curio
oh, on the one you are testing
roll again and watch the icon
and see if it ever hits 4
if it does, you've just been unlucky and the rare 4 star rolls have never hit gunner. there are 20 total curio perks, so assuming this is on a gold it's a 1/18 chance to see any curio perk since they are mutually exclusive
i do not know if perks contribute, i have a weird feeling they do not contribute in a purely linear fashion for sure, since a curio with several +25 perks does not roll like a 140 item or whatever, in particular you never roll t5s which are in the code
my working theory is that blessings contribute, but perks do not seem to or seem to do so as strongly for whatever reason
here's the really weird part: i have a curio with blessing level 66 that has three tier 4 perks
the curio with blessing level 65 has 0, and does not appear to be capable of rolling any
yep, it can totally happen. was that an emp or milks? those seem to have different rolling tables
don't recall lol
update: it is in fact possible to roll a T4, just very unlikely. but I got nothing going on today. I’ll just slam that button for another 3000 rolls every 15-20 minutes
what a dumb system
I’m typically a defender of FS’s crafting decisions (not unconditionally but I think I cut them more slack than average) and even I think the perk reroll system is stupid as hell
Is the 66 curio with three tier 4 perks a wounds one and the other curio some other blessing?
bon chance
there is mod on nexusmods that will reroll perk until you get what you want. I cannot imagine to do it manualy
i used it, so it only took about an hour to do the 15000 rolls necessary to get the perk i wanted
they were all %health. my ogryn is a chonky boy
it did eventually spit out the magical +20% gunner damage resistance i wanted, so now i'm rocking +60. gunners can eat my fat ogryn behind
so is there a difference and if so what is it between lets say a green curio with +1 wounds on it with a 71 gear score; and another green curio with +1 wounds at a 63 gear score?
there is absolutely no functional mechanical blessing between wound curios in terms of blessing
one from level 6 will work as good as one at 30, unlike most other blessings which respond to the blessing item level
but, itemlevel as i talk about above actually just today, heavily influences the perk levels on the perks you roll
That was a useful conversation btw, thanks for the testing and information @strange kiln
Do the feats that give enhanced coherency aura effects also affect yourself?
theres a difference for what you're likely to roll if you upgrade it
I think some of them only affect yourself. Sometimes when Fatshark writes “+##% EEEEEEE(XXXXX)” they mean “if XXXXX, then *you* get +##% EEEEEEE”, not “+##% EEEEEEE for every XXXXX”
the only instance of (Allies in Coherency) only affecting yourself that I can think of is Ogryn's Lynchpin
otherwise, Zealot's Benediction upgrades their Aura to +15% (affecting all allies in coherency), and Psyker's Psykinetic Aura gives the CDR to all allies in coherency upon the Psyker killing an elite/special
TIL
apparently Zealot's Inspiring Excoriation (+20% toughness to allies on ult) only affects allies and not themselves
It’s almost like there’s not enough space for a proper text description of what the feats do…
Based on 40k total curio perk rolls, there's no difference in perk tier distributions when rerolling a perk on a 63 rated wounds curio and on a 80 rated health curio. The perk rarity seems to in general be divided into three tiers. Ordo/curio/XP each have a roughly 10.5% chance, damage resistances are ~5.6% and the rest around 3.5%
If the blessing rating matters, it's either only when upgrading or it's less straightforward than just the numerical value. T2 chance 0.75%, T3 88.5%, T4 10.75%
its more like theyre written wrong on more occasions than not, when it comes to feats and blessings. like either they had to be translated, or they're describing intent and not technical description, or the person writing the description isnt either the person who designed or implemented it
a lot of in-game mechanics didn't work properly in the first place either so that doesn't help
the elite kill only affects yourself but the ability cooldown affects everyone
sidebar, but how does towering presence work? does it mean that both your reach to allies is improved and their reach to you?
okay, vid is uploading now, here is my attempted proof for the hypothesis "itemlevel somehow correlates to the perks you reroll"
my methodology is as follows: i attempted to isolate the relevant variable to demonstrate the effect
to accomplish this, i took four different items which otherwise were as alike as was feasible: they hadn't had rerolls yet, they were all of the same type (HP curios) and all of the same rarity (blue)
i did not have a large enough sample to test "of the same name/icon"
My data is based on 40k or more logged rerolls. Your session console_log has all the rolls logged if you use the mod. I admit that the t2 perk chance is normally low enough (~0.75%) that if you can find a curio that very consistently rolls t2s, you don't even need a high sample to know something is up.
i tested a 31, which got all T1 perks over 100 rolls (i am not completely confident on my counting, that's why i'm uploading a vid)
sure i'm just showing my results
counting them as it plays now
Interesting, I didn't roll a single T1 I believe
I think it's not based on the blessing rating though
all i can prove is correlation, causation might be different
it might be based on the ordo cost for all i know
or have some hidden value
Maybe it's based on the name. Regardless doesn't seem intended
could it be a curio you found before you were level 30?
for a curio with a 48 (or 18 above previous) i got: 16 t1, 85 T2s
What's the name and rating?
Oh 48 blessing rating? I don't doubt that curios you can find before you are level 30 will roll lower tier perks
All curios I've regardless of rating show up as having a t4 blessing tier (based on the icon)
name and rating will be on the vid, sorry counting rn
for an itemlevel 55 perk, i got: 27 1s, 127 t2s and 2 T3s
Blessing tiers instead of ratings?
base item level, all the rest is fixed
Yes, but I want to know if the blessing tier icons are different
The icon might not be working then
I think 18% health is the lowest one I've right now, that seemed to have the same probabilities as a max rating one
https://youtu.be/xGzZ7_4j4Vo here you go, hd is processing
this is why i saved them when i was leveling my ogryn
I'm guessing you got all of these before level 30
yes, there are no low itemlevels available once you push the store so far. i gusss you could run sedition with +curio chance
My 63 rating wounds curio still rolled 10.5% t4
i can only show my results and working and make hypothesis from those results
you also have a slight advantage that none of these are milks, for sure, and i'm fairly confident none of them are emps either
You probably roll lower tier items before level 30 and it's not strictly based on the item rating
i never run +curio chance eg
or the shown blessing rating
so, that hypothesis would be "there is a correlation between itemlevel, but it disables at some point"
which is def possible
personally i consider it inelegant tho. i think itemlevel is the whole of the thing, or at least correlates with whatever logic they use somehow even if it isn't the determinant
My guess is that the actual item level is based on your level and the rating ranges can overlap. So a character level 30 item with a low rating is not the same as a character level 15 item that has the same rating
well, to support that hypothesis it is demonstratable that curio itemlevel does not make sense
routinely it winds up with a secret bonus from somewhere
if you sit and add it up it's routinely waaaay off
This is the data for a 63 rating blue wounds curio (overall, t2, t3, t4)
on a 63 item, with the caveat that it started as a t4 perk unlike the others as i had no perfect like for likes, it went: 82 t3s, 14 t4s
That's the same odds probably then
u will notice none of these add up to 100, i am very bad at counting which is why i post my results B)
Is the character with that 63 item level 30?
the character is constant
but no idea when i bought it, unforts
for the final at 75, i got: 78 t3, 18 t4
when i was levelling my alts and i was a fresh 30 for a couple weeks my 18% health curios were rolling t1/2s and sometimes 3s and never 4s
i think its level and hidden character progression
or for my full results: a 31 item rolled only T1 perks, a level 48 rolled 16 t1, 85 t2, on a level 55 i got 27 t1s, 127 t2s and 2 t3s, on a 63 item i got 82 t3, 14 t4 and 75, i got: 78 t3, 18 t4
which again small sample and could use more testing at the high end, i think supports my hypothesis more than it plays against it. again, none of this can possibly have been predicted by me, all were rolled as fresh as was possible for a test of this kind
I'll see if I can find some even lower rated curios, but so far the rating doesn't seem to matter if the character who obtained them was 30
it's exceedingly difficult to test that but if there is some hidden flag that says "is user at 30" or not you would need to run someone up from 0 to know for sure. i don't personally find it compelling, i suspect you see everything relevant on an item in the item screen
it would have to be at item generation, since obviously all of these rerolls were done at a static level
The item level being based on your character level makes perfect sense.
again, it would have to lock that quality and it is unverifable with this testing. if you wanna test it i could probably work up a test if you wanna run it
try running sedition with + curio chance? that might do it
those items would be level 30
or, generated at 30 with low stats
Do you actually get low rated curios when you play on sedition
i know you get low item level items beyond that no idea
when i wanted to test this i made a new character and retained low itemlevel items
it might be that it gives high level greens
it's clearly, trivially not linear, ie 31 is roughly half the way up to max curio but rolls nothing but t1s in this test
also, and this might just be pattern seeking brain apologies, it felt my results were very "streaky", which i am not statistically informed to meaningfully test. T3s would roll in big streaks and then T4 would get 2 in a row, once more than that, in the latter testing
For me it once took 1000 rolls to get a t4 and then the next one took 4 attempts. I think it's just us remembering patterns even when they aren't there when looking at the whole data
yeah if i was a statistician i am sure there is a way to take the raw data and say was there any meaningful correlation between the current roll and the next one that would imply streak behaviour, alas
if the sample was big enough
thinking about it, the other way you could test would be otherwise most exaggerating the bind
what's the lower limit on things you can roll at 30?
i think it's like, 40 something with curios
find the lowest you possibly can at 30, and find a like for like of the same blessing type at least at as high as a level you can get, maybe record buying them or something so you remember which is which
Maybe 60+ is already the highest tier, I'll see if I can find lower rated ones. But Blooddrunk said his +18% health curio (probably obtaind pre-30) was rolling t1/t2s and mine rolls the same as 21%
no it was post 30
yes i bought it in the store
because i wanted to get my alts toughness regen speed
they were 30 for awhile already
ok weird
well, your results were between wound and HP right?
thats why i think its their hidden character progression thing
yea and mine refused to roll t4s just constantly t1-2s
there are other variables too. it's possible the mod is somehow influencing the rolls
unlikely, but a variable
It's all served side
right, but maybe spamming a ton of requests somehow changes the logic
they were 30 for a couple weeks but i wasnt getting tons of gear for them just some usable stuff made to orange
again, longshot but it's a variable
I guess it's still possible to obtain lower tier curios as a level 30 then, but it's rare and you can't tell based on the item rating
solely on the rating anyway
I guess is that it rolls the item level and that determines the blessing rating range
so like maybe a lower tier item can still roll higher blessing rating if you get lucky
and a higher tier can still low lower
idk i dont really think so since everything that we have even low ass ratings can get t4s
its a stark contrast to my alts where i need 19%+ to be able to have a chance to roll t4s
item level -> perk probability but you can't necessarily tell the item level based on the blessing rating, just like you can't tell the item level based on the rating of the perk it currently has
high level item can still roll a lower blessing rating but it will still have a higher chance of rolling t4s
But it's possible that Blooddrunk's 18% health curio had a lower rating than mine
Ha
You said ass
also i have converted others into the cult of catfive
is there a consensus best Recon lasgun mk?
550
none are very good tbh
the number on the top right is the base, a 380 is max. for curios the blessing is part of the base, and 80 is the highest
does playing low int give an xp bonus for having a modifier?
or do you lose xp for playing ez mode
When you earn a blessing through the Shrine of the Omnissiah. Is that blessing permanently earned sort of like the 'cube' function in Diablo 3?
for the weapons you can use it on yes
hey, kinda new to the game, what level would you say to be for each difficulty?
From my experience id say for starters play like 1-2 lowest difficulty matches before making Uprising your regular difficulty for a bit to get some faster XP/weapons and whatnot while learning how the game works
Once you've reached Level 10 or above try to mediate between Uprising and Malice but prioritise the latter the most since its when the game starts to be a bit more "serious" with you and your team
Once you're like 20/25 or so Heresy is probably where you want to start experimenting a bit, Damnation should probably be reserved after you cap at 30
Damnation is very intense stuff and you really need to know your class/weapons you are using to get through it alongside a good team, its fun but can also become a bit of a slog/sweat-fest especially if you get asshole elitist players
@upbeat sigil probably not the most "professional" guide but thought id throw my hat in regardless

awesome! ty for this!
Its not much but hope it helps
ngl I think if weapons didn't have those random stats dictating stuff like first target damage, cleave and general damage, damnation would be a fair bit more doable on lower levels
I'm not sure a brand new player should try Heresy on a character with subpar items and an unfinished build. the jump from Malice to Heresy is the steepest one in the game. it's definitely a good place to finish levelling up your alts, but for the first time? idk.
They will need to sooner or later tbh, there isn't really a solid way of doing things and its entirely down to trial and error sometimes and the player themselves when they want to try that difficulty.
It was pretty surprising how much more intense Heresy is compared to Malice but with a good team dipping your toes in that difficulty can be really rewarding experience.
Heresy in a nutshell.
Also things can go to shit in actual seconds
I was playing a super smooth match but a single special spawn wave killed us in like 10 seconds because we seperated for an objective.
Sometimes the game is extremely punishign and you usually always realise you were the one that made the fatal mistake for a mission fail
One major difference I noticed between Malice and Heresy was that you gotta be much more careful with going into melee in the latter.
Yeah a single group of like 5 enemies can fuck you up
Or just one trapper etc.
I was doing a low-intensity damnation mission earlier this morning, 2 vets 2 zealots. no problem, smooth sailing throughout. until we made one little mistake halfway through the mission. I went too deep into enemy front lines, high on the power of unwavering focus+counterfire, while two bulwarks seemingly materialized out of thin air behind me to split the team. and then the muties came.
everyone was suddenly on the floor within 20 seconds or so
run over
In general the team dispering like a fart in a hurricane is a recipe for disaster.
Any way to try to get good curious other than hourly in the shop and occasionally as emp gift? Trying to find bases to even upgrade is a pain, let alone getting good ones. :<
Trust in the Emprah.
gotcha
Or try to divine the stars or something. It's a crap shoot.
was hoping I missed something, but oh well. I'll get them when I get them then.
technically, you can buy random curios from melk with melkbucks
but I would not advise that
at all
my melk bucks are saved for lvl IV blessings
smart man
I avoided heresy and damnation for the longest time because trying heresy always ended up in disaster
but I skipped to damnation later to step my toes in and it was much smoother
Yeah Damnation and Heresy are basically the gods flipping a coin
You get a good team
You get a bad team
damnations are normally p good from my experience
with Malice you can KINDA still slog through and finish it even with a semi-shitty team
the bad teams typically fail fast enough in damnation for it not to take much time
yeah like sometimes the literal start
I think heresy should be fairly doable with a bad team?
Doable maybe but very painful.
^
Its still easy enough to solo carry
Ehhhhh
it depends
the game can get very brutal
in my last match we had 10 chaosgryns at the fucking start of the match
if it wasnt for a plasma vet we would be fucked
sometimes you'll just get sniped by a trapper from 30m while you're dealing with a horde + ragers + shotguns + ogryn enemies
I'm starting to get pretty comfortable with Heresy, dunno when I'm gonna try Damnation, though.
Honestly Damn you should try once in awhile imo
if you can do heresy comfortably
its worth dipping your toes into
^
malice to heresy is the biggest jump
I guess I could take a new trauma into the mix.
Damnation players are also just a step up from heresy players.
Entirely up to you tho on how you constantly you wanna play it, dont get intimidated by people going "I always play Dam because im such a fucking pro"
There isn't anything wrong with sticking to a lower difficulty

I only play damn becuase I like seeing the beeg plassteel number
Your more likely to get hard-carrys in damn rather then heresy.
I'm proudly play on lower difficulties in most games but for some reason I needed some more violence challenge in DT.
The actually good players wont simply be in heresy.
There's a smaller amount of people poking daemonhosts on Heresy, though.
Levelling alts was so fun.
me in the chat: don't aggro the daemonhost
-derp aggroes the daemonhost-
me: so you have chosen death
good to just try damnation if u fail its fine u still get pretty decent mats
definitely. on my Ogryn, I can just run through a Malice mission and kill everything on sight as soon as it appears
Malice feels such a walk in the park after Heresy.
Even with high-int it's just... not the same. 😂
Yeah its more the difficulty I stick to because after a long day of studies i cannot be assed to play anything else
meanwhile when you play Sedition for Melk contracts you are pretty much Senator Armstrong
until you get pounced by a hound alone

Hounds are bullshit.
I still can't understand why they can pounce through the shield.
I can sort of understand mutants but hounds??
But now that I remember to ask, does anyone have any hidden kernels of wisdom for the Gone Bowling penance? It's the current thorn in my buttocks.
also like, I am pretty sure most "good" players would prefer to have a well meaning new or meh player to an asshole good one
pretty much yeah
Honestly pro tip
when you are alone and hear a hound
just get on a furniture/prop
their AI cant do shit
that, or sometimes I actively run at the hound
works for some reason most the time

hi-intensity damnation has the most enemies, therefore likely the highest concentration of enemies within one location, like a poxwalker horde spawning while you are also fighting a blob of gunners or something. this is what it looked like when I got Gone Bowling (I'm Gormog): https://youtu.be/jQPKhIKeLrs?t=586
Damnation - Hi-Intensity Engagement Zone
Played on patch 1.0.26
hallway completely full of enemies
Hmm, probably best to try with a premade team.

What does the red lock next to my blessing mean?
That it cannot be changed to another blessing
When you reroll a blessing or a perk, the one you didn't reroll gets locked and you're only able to reroll the slot you already rerolled
Ohhhhh ok that makes sense thank you
I thought it just liked
Like
Wasn’t activated or something
what are these markings beneath the missions?
the highest difficulty you've completed it on
I think that's either damnation or heresy
That’s Damnation. Heresy only has the one skull
this^
how do i resolve this
beacuse it comes up witha backend error when i press close
Oh lord… open the Microsoft Store, log out somehow, log in with your XBox Live deets?
Sounds like the problem I had trying to buy the Mriya in MSFlightSim 😅
get this, Im using my dads account for reasons ive been using it since i was like 13, and hes ALSO been paying for gamepass, so i thought i had to buy it with MY details and use HIs account
Hmmmm
but nahh hes also been doing it so thats why i have access to the games and IVE been payign it for no reason
Oh man. All I can say is try all the different store credentials until something works
Good luck soldier
I fixed it
does anyone have a tl;dr trick to get going out with a bang on psyker?
Get people who won't shoot the enemies or just kill your own bots somehow, then leave the 3 elites low on health, charge your sword until the next charge kills you, ult and charge it all the way to blow up on enemies
Ideally do it with elites that don't shoot at you
The ult is to guarantee you won't get killed before exploding, which is a possibility and also very annoying, but also not necessary if the enemies are focusing someone else
it doesnt work on hounds does it?
anytime i seem to have a group of 3 thats weak enough, by the time i can explode my team typically kills it
I think it only specifies elites, but if it works on specialists then yes
nah just elites. unlucky
Well yeah, it's not something to do with randoms because it goes against the game's design of "kill it fast"
easiest place to get it is the comms plex map. The first data interrogation section has gunners / shotgunners spawn in groups of 3/4 at the entrance where you come in. Take a staff and charge your BB to 100% with the right click then swap to your staff and l1 the ground is an easy explosion. You can also take a deflector force sword with kinetic deflection and do similar. Easier with a group that you can talk with.
yeah the usage of the terminology is just whack
in feat descriptions, elites refers to both elites and specials
and I guess for penances, it refers specifically to elites?
unless bang is the exception
Is there any specific level that's ideal for preacher speedrun penance? Been struggling to get it for a while.
Low intensity assassination has been suggested before I believe
Yeah the magistrati oubliette mission. You can sprint to the first holdout objective and activate it without needing your whole team. Really quick with a knife. Generally as long as you've got a solid team who all have a sense of urgency, you can do it on any map.
its been a while, can t4 blessings show up in the armory or only milks
Not sure whether they still can, but previously it was possible, just extremely rare.
Not anymore, highest you'll see is T2, only melk has t3/4
you can still get them from crafting though.
You can definitely still get T3s
T4s in the armory were so rare that you could probably go through hundreds if not thousands of refreshes without seeing a single one, so might still be possible
mm ok. and how exactly do reblesses work in terms of compatible weapons, if you pull a T4 off say a crucis hammer can you put it on ironhelm? or say pulling a t4 off of a specific kantrael lasgun could it be put on any lasgun then?
It gets weirdly specific. Crucis thammer to ironhelm thammer is okay, but the infantry autoguns are different from the braced autoguns which are themselves different from the headhunter autoguns
Tactical Axes are different from Combat Axes
But within weapon families, you should be good to swap back and forth
As long as the weapon name after the mark number is identical, they share blessings
oooh good to know.
(this is why pysker staves don't share blessings, they all have unique names)
so because crucis and ironhelm both say thunder hammer i see
Yes exactly
So the infantry lasguns share blessings with each other, but not with the hellbore lasguns. Same goes for the three different autogun families as described above. Combat axes also don't share with tactical axes. Etc
ye so weapons basically are named [manufacturer] [mk] [type] and only type matters is what i'm gathering
correct
yeah, super low base see?
that's their base rating, meaning you're missing 100 points
ok. For reference, you can hold windows key, left shift, and tap S to bring up a snipping tool to take a more precise grab.
ok thanks
Otherwise, neither of those is worth getting.
oh, ok ty
oh i see thanks
Base rating (how many stat points the weapon has across its five stat bars) goes up to a max of 380 at lvl 30, with a maximum of 80 points per one stat. An ideal weapon has (close to) 80 points in all of its important stats. As such you won't be using any of these weapons when you get to lvl 30. That's the full explanation.
That said, Sire Melk can be a good source of high quality blessings that you can strip from otherwise suboptimal weapons and reuse on a better one of the same type, so read a few guides to learn what the important blessings are. For Ogryn, i recommend the 101 guide pinned in the #ogryn-class channel
ahh ok thanks that helps
Replace the first perk with +25% unarmored or Flak damage, and try to find Pinning Fire on another shredder pistol to slap on this bad boy instead of... I think sustained fire
An ideal Shredder has both Blaze Away and Pinning Fire, but out of the two, Pinning is the strongest
Ok so I want Blaze away and pinning fire
Ideally yes
But you can only replace one blessing
Doing so locks the other one permanently
This particular shredder will never have both of those blessings so you gotta pick one
Get lucky
Hadron will crush all your dreams every time.
keep consecrating shredder pistols until you get one that has either blaze away or pinning fire, then strip the blessing you're missing from another shredder autopistol using the "earn blessing" feature at the shrine. apply this blessing using the re-bless feature onto your desired shredder and voila.
welcome to the casino. it's all gambling from here.
(sire melk is also a source of weapons with high quality blessings)
so I can dismantle weapons with the blessing that I want
No. Take the weapon to hadron and choose earn blessing
and that will dismantle the weapon?
Yes and you'll earn the blessing permanently to be applied to other weapons of similar type
What you want it high base stat weapons with 1 tier 4 perk and 1 tier 4 blessing and then you turn them into good weapons by rolling the other perk and blessing
Does getting pounced on by a hound or captured by a trapper reset flawless execution progress?
Or is it exclusively being downed
damn this is wicked
why make it so hard
Welcome to Darktide where you will never get the item you want. Thanks to Fatshaks Chinese owner who demands casino mechanics
Do you have a strategy to get as many blessings and perks as possible
like to have as much control over the system as possible
I buy tier 1, 2 and 3 blessing from armoury. Tier 4 from the melk store. Just doing bingos cause that's the only endgame you have. I have over 80K plasteel and 45k diamantine which I will never use for gambling until Fatshark gets their act together.
Hoping that they actually will get their act together
technically, being down only, but the counter could be jank
How do I recognise the differance between tier 1 -4 blessings
Because Fatshark does not want you to have perfect weapons.
They have one month to change the crafting, after that I'll be playing a far better loot game.
The numeral on the icon
They are making it right now?
You can't have any control, it's 100% RNG. Sorry pal
like fixing it
Don't think so.
We don't know, all they've said is that they're talking about it
"They have one month to change the crafting" wdym
Diablo is coming, they better work fast
It's not hard to change the crafting to like what Division 1 did. That system was perfect.
Get the perks and blessing you want by rng, doesn't matter what tier - then just start upgrading the weapon with materials to bring all perks and blessing to tier 4 and base item level to 380
Thats would be grindy, but rewarding.
I don't mind a bit of grind
I just want strong probability
Right now I am drifting back to V2
I think everyone does lol
and I play like darktide 2 games a week
I just do the weeklies and be done with it. There is no way to progress your character in Darktide.
yeah, that's usually the only thing he's good for, though he sometimes sells a complete, functional weapon
high stats, good perks, good blessings
Yes. I don't have to do that luckily anymore. I've collected every blessing of every tier for my ogryn, so I just check if there is a weapon I'd like to actually use but there never is.
generally speaking though you will find t3/t4 blessings on otherwise suboptimal weapons, but you can surrender the weapon to hadron to earn one of those blessings for permanent re-use
which is how you slowly build up your library of high quality blessings
alright
time to do the other characters ^^
I have, all of them. All kitted out. But the Ogryn playstyle is my style of playing. I like to carry people.
nice job
what weapon do you like on ogryn
I feel like he is big, clunky, slow and pretty meh
but that's my experience
BB and GG is my go to set up.
Ogryn is faster than zealot even, sometimes. Depending on zealot of course
hm
should give him more tries
but his size and being ugly af is a huge turnoff
when you can be a ww1 stormtrooper
Ty
It is not an issue, you have so much health to spare to take a few bullets
Now you make me wanna play that again
I'm trying to get a better understanding of cleave as a stat.
Comparing Wrath and Brutal Momentum, one raises cleave and the other ignores hit mass. Does the increased cleave value affect the damage falloff across those additional targets hit, or does it only increase the maximum hit mass you can hit, and thus Brutal Momentum is objectively better?
bromentum is pretty much objectively better, with the stipulation that you need to get a weakspot kill to trigger it
wrath does not improve damage falloff
it only increases the cleave value of the weapon by the % stated on the blessing
i.e. how much hitmass the weapon can pass through
What is the point of letting weapons have both Brutal Momentum and Wrath/Savage Sweep then?
If one is objectively better and outclasses any combination of the others
the strictly better problem occurs in almost every single blessing pool fwiw
oh here's another one
you might evaluate "power" as being equal to damage, stagger and cleave, since that's roughly what it's costed like
you would be incorrect, a point of power is equal to a point of damage, stagger and cleave, since it does all three
Considering that they describe cleave and ignore hit mass differently, I expected them to be different stats
Like brittleness/rending being different takes on a similar effect
hitmass is an enemy property
cleave is a weapon property
enemy hitmass is subtracted from weapon cleave value while swinging
you reach 0 cleave, your weapon stops
Point being, the wording implies they do something different
they do what they say on the tin
But they're both just interacting directly with hit mass the same way
bromentum lets your weapon ignore hit mass, giving you effectively infinite cleave
One just does it better
extra cleave is just extra cleave
Either way, I've got a rampage 2, wrath 4 heavy sword
But if that's not making it kill anything faster, its going to be a rampage 2, headtaker 4 now
I've already got a headtaker 4, brutal momentum 4 heavy sword
So wrath is moot
on heavy sword you wanna aim for rampage headtaker, fwiw
different weapons interact with hit mass differently due to their inherent properties. hsword does not need a bunch of extra against hit mass, it already hits an absurd amount
when do weekly's reset?
do we know if blessing tiers are tied to power level?
very probably, but there is contention. i can say with certainty that itemlevel correlates to the perk you reroll at least to some degree and extremely anecdotal evidence suggests they correlate, but some people think that you hit max level and it's fixed odds
i see, i guess we cant data mine it since its all on server
i personally think itemlevel influences both the perks and blessing tier you roll
but to which degree who knows and it's impossible to test meaningfully since a large sample would require, fuck idk, tens of thousands of plasteel
yea would only work with cheating
i think the same thought maybe there was some insider knowdledge or something
once i make a weapon transcendent, is there any way to increase power?
So I sacrificed like 5 different blessing to hadron and none of them are here anymore?
are they the same weapon type, ie sacrificing a combat axe blessing for another combat axe
yeah, to collect a blessing is just to cover that one kinda item, not all the weapons that blessing can roll on. which makes sense, because two blessings can have the same name and different properties
Is there a better way to grind out the T4 blessings that I don't know about?
Because I always get shitty luck with the daily specials from Melk. Same with Emp's Gift.
basically just buy a grey from blunt, upgrade to blue, stop
not really. regular shop dockets are pretty free, especially initially. if you see something good while levelling, buy it without issues.
do NOT, however, upgrade it, because it's pure material waste, and materials are always needed.
and even more importantly, do not spend melk coins. they are really scarce.
very ineffective way of fishing for t4 blessings though, they basically never roll on the blue consecration
gotta go for gold or you might as well not bother
i wouldnt say never they do roll sometimes
its not an ultra low chance
I have no data on it other than I've rolled a few T4s on the first attempt
yeah and blue to gold is like 3x more expensive
i have like 50+ blues of many weapons without t4s
half the time i upgrade a weapon to gold to put a second blessing on it i accidentally get a t4
and then i have to make a second gold weapon so that i don't lose that blessing :^)
item rating seems to matter as well. for rolling both perks and blessings
does revive speed work on nets and ledges?
Any tips for make every shot count?
any1 wanna do psycher monstrosity penance with me?
i doubt it, you could search discord and reddit and see if anyone tested it
#veteran-class message <-- click
Either do the glitch or use a Snub revolver
Cheese it.
- Pick a mission with an easy finale, like Enclavum Baross.
- play normally as if the penance doesn't exist.
- near the end of the mission, empty your gun's ammo reserves by shooting into a wall or something, except for one bullet.
- alt+f4 to close the game.
- reboot, reconnect.
- fire your last remaining bullet into an enemy. Don't miss!
- swap to melee, don't pull out your gun again, finish the mission.
- penance complete, enjoy your drip
anyone here who would like to help me with the heavyweight ogryn penance?
or has any tips? 🙂
@twilit garden what ones that?
i need to charge 6 ogryns with one bull rush
but i heard they are nerfing it next week so i can just try then 🙂
ever since the last major patch, Crusher deathsquads of 6+ ogryns have become pretty frequent in Damnation, moreso with a Hi-Intensity modifier
I say playing that difficulty and letting it naturally happen is the best way
When gaining blessings from Hadron, are those character-specific or are they unlocked for the entire account?
For the account, and applying to the respective weapon type
Perf, thanks 😄
Are the chances of getting a IV blessing better consecrating a weapon from green to blue (redeemed to annointed), or purple to orange (exalted to transcendant)? Or is it the same?
we believe it is a better chance, but note that the plasteel cost is also much more expensive
for upgrading to gold
time to deplete my entire store of diamantine then
I’ve been struggling with the zealots just a flesh wound penance, any tips?
i just suck too bad to play t4 and 5 i think. Idk what it is. I handle specials well, i can kill guys in front of me...but im ALWAYS getting hit from behind and getting chipped or dying from some random dregs coming up behing me and just smacking me so hard. Do you just need to do 180's every 5-10 seconds on heresy+? is that just the only way
even constantly dodging keeping guys in front
someone will just be behind me, out of nowhere constantly
yeah thats just the game unfortunately
they always send flank squads behind you
Yea after a while it becomes muscle memory
Have your head on a swivel, always move forward, but move forward by turning your body behind and dodging back so that you're always in a position to hit stuff coming up behind you while still advancing through the map
Dodges are free for the most parts unless you're psyker where it is really free free, so are slides, feel free to incorporate slides and dodges into your movement repertoire so that 70% of your game is spent dodging and sliding from cover to cover and you're never in a position where you can get tapped by a guy you can't see
Yeah pretty much. The most important skill in this game is situational awareness, closely followed by positioning. Being really good at killing things is kinda secondary.
People sometimes say that Malice breeds bad habits and what they mean is that the difficulty isn't punishing enough to force people to constantly be checking behind them, listening for footsteps and doors opening behind you (not just the loud sounds of special spawns), respecting the threat posed by lesser enemies, etc.
It happens a lot that people comfortable on Malice try to move to Heresy or Damnation and get absolutely destroyed
ya, thats me
my friends never wanted to practice enough/were willing to die trying enough to learn t4
i did ok solo with groups here or there
i still do ok sometimes, carrieds a t4 match earlier iwth a dead weight teammate so that was exciting
t5 is still too hard
had this t4 match earlier
with idzuna basically dead the whole time...dunno how they did so little kills lol
so im not THAT bad, just fail t4s with randos a decent bit
and t5s elude me
question - im a psyker - people told me not to run a wound 'its a crutch' but i do SO much worse without. should i be running +1 wound?
and is +hp % of tough% curios best for someone trying to get better
"it's a crutch" means that the item is only bad if you are good enough to play optimally. If you find that you do better with that "crutch" to lean on, then just run it
Also I think it's dumb elitist talk anyway, having more than 2 wounds in T4+ is very useful. One of the best players I know runs an extra wound on all the human classes
Especially on Psyker, where the risk exists that you accidentally blow yourself up
if you do a lot worse without it sure by all means run it
thanks
i swapped to 2x toughness % curios and 1 toughness
upgraded a new sword, and learned some of the combos on deimos im really liking it
decided to try a tier 4 mission with increased hounds and heretics modifier and we actually passed
so guess im doing ok
sometimes it feels like i just die so quick tho
i still also sometimes am doing fine, then out of nowhere put myself in a bad position and take half my hp in a few seconds
