Presumably to prevent you from gearing up too quickly.
The armory servitor made sure that even anti-monopoly laws applied to the Emperor. He has a business to keep open.
Since Emperor's Gifts will have the possibility of giving you orange weapons/high base rating weapons.

warp charges are earned through either brain bursts or other various psyker abilities
the percentage is your peril meter
warp charges are this little symbol at the bottom of your screen after you brainburst a target
whats the max base rating on weapons?
the 58 means you've achieved 58 seconds with max warp charges on malice difficulty or higher
not sure, but i know no weapons can roll over 80% on their stats yet
380 for now, some have visual bugs that show between 381-385 on transcendent rarity but that's a bug

caring about the power rating is a mistake, focus on the actual stats that are improved by that. a 330 can be effectively as good as a 380 if the only stat that suffers is something like mobility

the power rating isn't what is being discussed, the base rating is all the stats added up
it's the number that's below the power rating

every enemy has a hit mass and when you swing with a cleaving attack it subtracts the hit mass from the weapons cleave

and when that is <0 it stops on that enemy
ignoring hit mass you'll always swing the full animation and distribute damage to the max number of enemies
it's better on some things than others, i use that blessing on the chain sword

this one is mine that i run in damnation on my vet, the blessing tier is a bit low but you'll be able to fix that eventually

if you've got currency to burn it would probably turn into a nice weapon
but consecration is essentially gambling
and since we don't know exactly how the reblessing stuff will work i'd just use it as is and see how you like it

this loadout will kill basically everything but crushers
you can sort of deal with crushers with the powered heavy on the chainsword but in damnation it doesn't really work

Would you say the typical knife + bolter build for zealot is viable at all in heresy/damnation?
i see zealots running flamer a lot but bolter is fine as well if you're ok surviving in a horde on your own with the knife, i don't have a whole lot of experience with zealot so i don't know what they usually run in terms of feats
just make sure you're killing the armored stuff if you bring the bolter
np, i'm still learning as well so if you find something that works for you take it and run with it lol
i like running flamer for hordes and thammer for elites, that way you can leave the ammo to the vets so they can do the job of keeping everyone alive enemy ranged units dead. knife also is supposed to (with the right build) be able to go through crushers and stuff via bleed etc so having a boltgun for that might just be doubling up on 1 specialty.

Prior coordination with veteran (if in group) helps in this regard. If vet is running bolter, switch to flamer if confident in player skill.
In matchmaking outside of discord coms, the coordination piece can be a shit show.
Zealots running bolters is quite noticeable for ammo count across team. No issue with the weapon choice but zealots using full auto bolter for horde clear requires a large chunk of map find ammo. This can lead to problems around half way through the map.

does the regular corruption resist help with grimoire's corruption? heard the grimoire one is bugged?
From my testing, grimoire corruption resistance is exclusive. Non specified corruption resistance in the perk line affects corruption from dogs/beasts etc but not books.
They could have changed it from last I tested. There are alot of changes that are not explicitly annotated in the patch notes unfortunately.
and the grim resistance perk was bugged so that it only affected the trickle damage, not the initial chunk.

Which somewhat defeated the purpose imo. I'd recommend rerolling that into something more generally useful.
The standard Corruption Resist perk affects the ticking damage the grimoire does. It does not affect the initial -40HP picking up the grimoire causes.

If a random team mate pisses off a daemonhost, is it RNG on if he decides to screw the rest of the squad?
I assumed it was just, as long as you didnt hit it, he shouldn't come looking for you next, but I just had someone hit the host when 2 other people needed to be rescued, and he teleported to me after killing them* -_-
i think host goes away after it kills 2 players, i don't know exactly how it picks its targets, some say it picks the lowest hp player after the first player that aggroed it dies but i can't 100% verify.
i don't think you can avoid it targeting a second player, so if you can't kill it should always expect 2 players to die
what are the mechanics that completely strip your toughness
it seems like bombs and... flamers? instantly strip all toughness even if you just barely graze it

touching fire instantly breaks your toughness, so enemy flamers, the grenadier fire grenade and fire barrels.

it doesn't seem to correlate to difficulty, modifiers, or zone
i mean, the grenade as a decent delay before the fires become active and the flamers need to run in close to fire at you.

it's the highest difficulty you completed that map on, it changes nothing for the map you queueing into, its just Tracking your progress in a way

What is the max level gear?
380 base stats rating. then blessings and perks add rating as well, i think a tier 4 blessing might add 50 or 55 rating but i have none to verify, a tier 3 gives 45 rating each , and a tier 4 perk gives 25 each so, using what i know for sure its 520 + whatever the increase of a tier 3 blessing to 4.
taking a tier 1 blessing is 25, a 2 is 35 and a 3 is 45 , i will assume a 4 is 55, and my assumed max rating for a weapon would be 540.

It certainly is, but you are seemingly more likely to roll lower tier perks if your item rating is low (as is the case here due to your blessing being only 69 rated)

It's an 8 out of 10 in my opinion.
Just bordering on the edge of ideal.
And if you don't have a power sword, it will take you far.
Their performance for horde clearing is far better than the devil's claw in my experience.
Once you learn the timing on energizing and what that lets you do, you can pretty effectively hold against anything that isn't a crusher or bulwark.

But how can you customise those weapons to better suit the demands of Atomaās gruelling war zones?
In an update after this blog post, they also reworded The Perk rerolling to cost an increasing amount and that it would lock the other perks. The end result was the Perk rerolling cost decreased and locked the other perks. So we were told about two versions and then got a third. That is why it is such a crapshoot for what to expect.
The lack of communication or clarification about the reroll cost decreasing instead of increasing was so abrupt that most people thought it was a typo too. It was just a small footnote as part of that patch's patchnotes.
I still can't believe they choose a path that doesn't allow for rerolling both perks
it is safe to say we are getting some sort of crafting, but even developers have no idea what it will be

With how little player agency this system has, how barebones it is, and how it wasn't even available at launch it reeks of a hasty cut and paste.

The player base is reacting to the 'garbage in, garbage out' development approach. Had an interesting conversation with a Vermintide 1+2 oldtimer who referenced both game launches were eerily similar to how Darktide is faring now. You'd think the third time is the charm but evidently not.

what level would yall recommend for malice? im currently level 10 on my zealot and when i get matched with other people around my level we get wiped halfway through, but if there is a single level 20+ we end up making it
it very much depends on your experience
Levels do help to a certain point, but the thing people need to know about this game, is that its all about understanding the fundamentals of combat first in order to start getting consistent on higher difficulties. I would recommend you look up some videos on basic mechanics such as dodging, blocking, push attacks, positioning, etc.. Even looking up videos on combat for Vermintide 2 can be applied to Darktide.
What is a flash mission?
I have an objective to complete 7 different types of missions, I click on the missions to see which ones I haven't done as it doesn't tell me on the actual challenge and theres one that says 0/1 Flash mission.

Kind of? If you have multiple characters, then its not reliable. If you go to the mission select terminal, you'll notice green arrows below missions with various chevrons depending on the difficulty you completed it on. That's the only way to tell what mission you completed. Keep in mind, it only shows completion for that SPECIFIC mission, not mission type

I'd say horde clearing, do I just want ignore enemy mass perkd and cleave shtuff? Also does penetration help you not get stuck on elites while swinging through a crowd?
Penetration is a damage number thing, it will not affect how far you can cleave. Cleave/ignore enemy mass are nice to have if you feel like you're not mowing down the horde enough.

Just to make sure, you're referring to this chainsword right, and not an eviscerator?
I am referring to chainsword yes
chainsword is decent at hitting multiple enemies, but it won't be as effective as a weapon that have a relentless attack pattern, like the devil's claw sword or the power sword. So you would end up having to do more pushing and dodging in combination with your chainsword heavy attacks when dealing with a horde.

Ah, it's not a necklace, it's a charm. Select a weapon, then at the bottom will be a button to let you modify your weapon appearance. Any weapon will do.

I'd equip that. Defence relates to your stamina consumption and dodge. So it shouldn't be too big of a deal on hammer since that thing staggers the crap out of everything
no, defences is your dump stat, if anything you don't even block that much with thammer compared to some other weapons because the shove attack is mid (imo)
also afaik the defences stat has a pretty small difference between 0 and 100%
agreed, its a small threshold to hit, which is pretty negligible

well the perk is shit so you'd need to land a good other perk and 2 good blessings for it to be good. your other one, in my opinion, has basically perfect blessings besides one being only t1.
although hammer blessings are debatable of course, since SnA has some room to sneak in

No, only those 3 specifically have an armor type that classifies them as unyielding. However, the Bulwark and Reaper have specific armor parts on them that are carapace/flak

Also I'm sorry I'm just tuning into this, but I only got the game a few days ago and I'm trying to catch up. I'm sure this has been asked a million times already.
It's kind of like a live service game, if you're used to playing them. It's all about patience and grinding. Your best chance at a transcendant weapon (gold) is to consecrate one yourself by grinding plasteel and diamantine. Just keep running missions and hope your team picks up the supply stashes, and you'll do it in no time.
I was able to craft my first gold weapon before I was even level 30. Just save your materials and buy a blue or purple one, then upgrade it yourself at the forge.

a lot of store stuff is tier 1 or 2
and it will take 9 level 2 blessings or 27 level 1 blessings to combine them all into a level 4 blessing

the locked perk is in a way more friendly as itās a guaranteed t4 perk of your choice
whereas with increasing cost you could theoretically make something perfect but it might be functionally impossible due to cost

you fight rng sure, but you know you can guarantee a good perk set on any weapon that drops with one good perk

maybe the restriction will be that adding a blessing is a special consecration you can only do from purple to ascendant

There's no need for a guide necessarily. Just understand that the map is arranged with various check points and chokes in mind. Typically when you press a button or drop down a path that doesn't have any way back up, that's a turning point in the progression of the mission. You don't want to go ahead or do that until everyone's ready.

afaik rending is armor ignore, brittleness is armor reduction (i.e rending is only for you and should apply to every hit).
brittleness is like a debuff, so first hit will apply the debuff second hit will actually benefit from the debuff and apply more if thats how the blessing happens to work

you're not applying anything though with rending i believe. i.e. you're ignoring armor with each hit. so you don't have to apply anything with the first hit.

Pick up Books just makes you rush forward so you can be the one picking up the book since it doesn't count if someone else does it
Kill 750 enemies of that half with melee or ranged is eh if you don't have the time
Complete secondaries in X mission is just bullshit when you can't pick the difficulty or even the missions if you're not lucky

Pick Up Books does count your teammates books. What it doesnāt count, is when you all only picked up 2/3 scrips or 1/2 grims

Just to be clear, the pick up grims/scriptures require the team to complete the mission. Any pickups are counted for everyone. So it's not you have to individually pick up 25 scriptures. You can get a maximum of 3 scriptures towards the weekly every mission.
In my experience, the proportions have been relatively close enough that you don't need to care about focusing one or the other.

tank with the shield then swap to twin stubba and mow everything down
then back to tanking
rinse repeat, been carrying hard on heresy missions
The ability to absorb bullets is nice and all but you can just screech at your Veteran to start shooting stuff you can't beat to death
I feel the shield suffers a bit when you need to keep yourself alive in a tight spot without immediate aid from your teammates, it's heavy attacks are ultra slow so gaining bunch of toughness can be a bit tricky if pushed into a bad spot
its not just bullets lol
And Power Maul hits pretty hard
almost nothing can hurt you
but it's pretty reliable most of the time
not even plague ogryn or daemon
damage output is a bit middling
i mean i like the shield
only flamers, dogs, muties, and beast of nurgle can stop you from shield walling
it's fine and I think it works very well for what it's designed to do
in a perfect world (aka competent teammates) it would probably be bad

The fact that dogs just jump through the shield irritates the hell out of me ngl
it's not perfect against snipers either because the sniper shot goes through it and damages teammates behind you even though you don't take damage

it's heavy 1 is so good for closing in and gaining toughness for every hit
yeah i'm just level 20 with Ogryn, so my opinion will most likely change

the existence of brutal momentum doesn't like this message. Although I'm not sure if cleave and what brutal momentum does is the exact same, combat axe (even tac axe) with the blessing will do fine against hordes
Brutal momentum essentially gives your weapon a duration of infinite cleave.
Every enemy has a hit mass value based on what type of enemy they are/what type of material you hit. This value is subtracted from your weapon's cleave value until it reaches 0 and your weapon then no longer will apply damage to further enemies for that attack.
yea the part I wasn't sure about was how damage is dealt in brutal momentum, i.e. if you hit 10 enemies would they all take damage or does it still work such that most of the damage goes to the first enemy
Damage application I believe should be applied proportionallly per cleave value.
Unless your weapon has First Target as a stat bar.

Toughness is just intended to shield you from chip damage from ranged attacks

It is how the new toughness damage mitigation mechanic works. This applies only to melee attacks. If you are at 100% of your toughness when you take a melee hit, it will absorb 100% of that melee damage. If you are at 80%, then 20% of the incoming melee damage will bleed through and apply to health instead. Etc.
Like I just noticed that aiming down sights with it makes it pinpoint accurate
So it feels "better" at rapid, high damage fire at longer ranges than Bolter

Since the most recent patch, the game tracks by account which missions you've completed on what difficulty via those chevrons/skulls that show up underneath missions on the mission terminal.
Right now its saying I have 6/7 missions completed for the penance, but it doesnt say what Im missing to finish it
Other than the method implemented in the last patch, the only option you have is to manually track them.
the toughness system works like this, toughness will completely block ranged damage, but melee damage gets blocked by the percentage of how much toughness you add when it initially hit.
So imagine the enemy deals 100 damage and you have 100% toughness, all the damage will go the toughness.
But the same attack when you only have 75% of your toughness will deal 25 Hp damage and 75 toughness damage(each would actually be 150 after melee hit modifier on toughness). so on and so forth.
Also keep in mind melee attacks have a higher damage multiplier vs toughness, if the enemy attack where to deal 50 damage, your toughness will actually take 100 damage, but if you had no toughness and took that hit, it would only deal its regulars damage of 50.
The method in the last patch only tracks missions, not mission types

depends, on my veteran i like taking at least 1 toughness curio, but i also expect getting shot a little as i work to snipe the enemy ranged, toughness is great ranged damage mitigatory, it isn't bad to have.
Note that most feats and and blessings regenerate %'s of toughness and not a set number
having more than your max toughness lets you tank at least one melee hit without getting bleedthrough damage
so while a enemy might need to deal more damage to get higher bleed through, it's not harder for you to regenerate more of it
and no, having a lot of toughness will help mitigate more damage of the second hit, while giving more ranged protection, and since most regen is % based more toughness is always better than standard, how you avoid taking damage from multiple melee hits is to regen your toughness before you get hit again, by fighting it out.
just remember the game uses you current % of max toughness to dictate how much hp damage you take, if you still have 97% toughness you will only take 3% hp damage, i don't know how they calculate damage if the bleed trough is less than 1.

I'm not even blaming the players for playing Psyker, since none of us had the ability to know that we were going to have that lineup of classes

In that game you can change classes any time while in the lobby. XP is still split between the individual classes, but currency is shared to not punish the players for adapting to the current situation inside a lobby

It's more that it's not as punishing if you make a mistake. So most people don't really get into the mindset of "I should stop losing half my health during the first horde".
nah you can brute force malice and lower and getting caught out in a bad spot rarely results in a down like in hearsy because you characters are strong enough by themselfs to fight their way out alotta times

Point being if its a flat amount then stacking more toughness doesn't affect that aspect. I mostly play preacher so stacking more toughness is still better of course for stuff like EWEW and chastise itself, which restore based on % values. I assume other classes have similar % toughness gain options so toughness is still better
ah i see, ye, i suppose that sucks, but the killing enemies in melee is the main way to get the toughness back, and that one is a percentage as well.
cohesion regen doesn't usually kick in fast enough in a pinch, but i did say all regen is % based and cohesion isn't :O

it branched out and made continuously weird design choices because it wanted to be different from left 4 dead, but also desperately wanted to market itself as left 4 dead

Heavy is horizontal swings
Power up + light attack is a no horny vertical bonk
Light attack in general is bonk down > bonk up > (I donāt remember exactlyā¦)

How fast does Surgical ramp up?
My current bolter has surgical (3% while aiming, up to 5 times) and increase crit chance but there is also a bolter with just more weak spot damage and +5% power for every enemy stagger (which is easy with Bolter)

You can inspect the power sword cleave stat and will show a number value for the number of unarmored targets it can cut through.
Power Sword estimated to cut through 8-10 targets when powered up based on the changes to the weapon from Update 6: The Signal.

but I will recommend tying out stuff to see what you like
as for ready-made builds, there are current 2 common variations
you either run forcesword for elites and flamer for horde
or you run axe/dueling sword with kinetic deflector for horde and surge staff for elites
that covers about 90% of psykers I see
surge is used mainly to stunlock packs of elites so your resident veteran can shoot them
this staff is in the shop and i manly use fire , but if it's just obsolite becouse if i wait for next refresh somthing a lot better comes along
its exactly middle of the road on base rating
for flamer staff stat order is
burn > radius > damage > everything else

reasoning behind it is simple
aoe almost doubles, dot damage almost doubles, while direct damage increases by at best 60%

what difficulty do you farm for plasteel? is it pretty clearly a higher-tier = better rewards?
Plasteel is bottlenecked. The ratio of it to diamantine doesn't increase much in higher difficulties.
Malice is the most reliable farming difficulty.
Higher difficulties don't reward much more plasteel. You generally get more diamantine instead. Purposeful design decision.
that being said damnation does, supposedly, give you more.
hmm I have a weird ratio right now (1:1) so I guess that might just be out of balance for a while

it will only continue to become more unbalanced unless they change the distribution. bunch of people at 5000+ diamantine and almost no plasteel, personally i'm sitting at ~2500 and no plasteel.

I read somewhere one of the curio's corruptiopn resistance is bugged (grimoires?) is that still true?
bugged in a sense yes. essentially grimoires have a target corruption that they apply when you pick them up, which is 40 hp. All corruption resistance does for that initial 40HP is reduce the speed of the initial rapid buildup upon grabbing them, it doesn't change the fact that its 40HP. corruption resist does work on the incremental tick afterwards though.
so if you have 2 grimoires it'll be -80 max HP even with 45% resist or 0
so does normal corruption resist help with grim ticks and all other sources of corruption? or does normal corruption resist help with everything but grims, and grim corruption is the only way to reduce those ticks

So, are bots considered to just be completely useless on heresy+? Snipers seem to just absolutely deconstruct a team if you don't have a way to kill them at long range yourself.
