SPAWN RULES

Valid Messages are ones that:

  1. Sent 1s apart
  2. Overlapping within timer range will not reset timer (so spamming works, but only every 2nd message gets counted if you spam at 2messages/second)
  3. Whether you catch the spawned pokemon early or late does not affect the subsequent spawns.

Spawn Attempt: 1 Pokemon spawns in a server with about 10-20** valid messages**, with baseline being 10, max being 20, and count multiplied by 1.1x and rounded to whole integer every new spawn attempt made.

Spawns may be redirected to different channels, but notice that the whole server only has one clock.

Max spawn rate in solo server is 3 pokemon/min, or 180 pokemon/hr

If you find the image does not match pokemon name this is likely due to a lag spike causing an image to spawn while the bot did not receive the pokemon to send. Here are a few things you can do:

1. Make sure you're spelling the name correctly
2. Do p!h and try to figure out the pokemon based on the hint
3. Send the hint to #whos-that-pokémon to see if someone else knows the pokemon
   While these can help you catch the pokemon in the hint you can not catch the pokemon in the image if you notice the hint doesn't match

In regards to gen 8 and certain event pokemon getting moves
They’re already being planned to be added in the future. Only thing is that when moves are added they have to be double checked not to be bugged. So they should arrived when the battle fix is added to poketwo. (The fix for the most part being for status moves, pokemon having 5 moves instead of just 4, and adding moves in general).

• The shard used in your server might be in a error state.
• The bot might be rate limited by discord.
• Latency is high (Try typing @Pokétwo#8236 ping and see the ping, if its higher than 300 its mostly having a latency problem)
• The Bot might have errors in the script
• The bot might have errors on deploying.

Currently, if you guys don't know, battling is broken. However, it is an easy fix. What you do is add your team in DMs with the bot, and it will say that your not in a battle. So what you do then is go back to the server with your battle and add your team. That will fix battling for you. Just do that every battle.

If your poketwo isn't online in your server but in this server or in your friends, it might be a shard reconnecting or the shard had an error so it shut down.

What's a shard?

Shard is something that makes the bot handle command and events easier.

Example

If a bot is in 2k+ servers, discord recommends bots to shard depending on the servers they are in. So if a bot is in 10k servers, they need around 6-13 shards.

Shards Map

Shard 2 handling 1,500 servers,
Shard 3 handling 1,500 servers, etc```


So if a shard 3 is down, 1500 servers will see the bot as down but the other shards sees the bot as up

No, you cannot do anything about the shards being down. All you can do is wait and be patient because worrying about the bot being down isn't solving your problem.
You can try kicking and reinviting it again, its not guaranteed the bot would work but you can try!

We have the same on our server... we kicked the bot, reinvited and it started to respond (to p!configuration and p!help as an example). One pokemon then spawned in a channel, but when a member tried to claim it, the bot didn't respond. Now it won't respond to the commands above either... it's still showing as online, but not responding to anything at all.

We can't, and won't, just keep kicking the bot and bringing it back in the "hope" that it works... there's clearly something going on, especially noting the other individuals mentioning it, so it needs to be investigated!

In regards to gen 8 and certain event pokemon getting moves
They’re already being planned to be added in the future. Only thing is that when moves are added they have to be double checked not to be bugged. So they should arrived when the battle fix is added to poketwo. (The fix for the most part being for status moves, pokemon having 5 moves instead of just 4, and adding moves in general).
For the moment we ask you please be patient since OI¡ver can get busy

• The Bot might have errors in the script
• The bot might have errors on deploying.

I’m sorry, how does that help me? The bot has been down for days, and you’re telling me that the bot owner has no responsibility to investigate availability and, where there’s a problematic shard, to either work to resolve its availability - or remove from the shard? There are plenty of people here advising that there are issues… and all that keeps happening is a tag being thrust at people about the wrong thing.

They’re already being planned to be added in the future. Only thing is that when moves are added they have to be double checked not to be bugged. So they should arrived when the battle fix is added to poketwo. (The fix for the most part being for status moves, pokemon having 5 moves instead of just 4, and adding moves in general).
For the moment we ask you please be patient since OI¡ver can get busy

There are some stuff that might be happening to the bot:

• The bot could be restarting/rebooting
• The shard used in your server might be in a error state.
• The bot might be rate limited by discord.
• Latency is high (Try typing @Pokétwo#8236 ping and see the ping, if its higher than 300 its mostly having a latency problem)
• The Bot might have errors in the script
• The bot might have errors on deploying.

Bot down in your server but the bot in your friends' the bot is up? Try sending ?tag shard-down
