So, weird stuff happening with my incense. Poketwo wasn't responding to my catch or incense pause. I kicked poketwo and brought it back. Things seemed normal but it skipped one of the pokemon in my incense and it appeared later, out of order and uncatchable.

If you find the image does not match pokemon name this is likely due to a lag spike causing an image to spawn while the bot did not receive the pokemon to send. Here are a few things you can do:

1. Make sure you're spelling the name correctly
2. Do @Pokétwo#8236 hint and try to figure out the pokemon based on the hint
3. Send the hint to #whos-that-pokémon to see if someone else knows the pokemon
   While these can help you catch the pokemon in the hint you can not catch the pokemon in the image if you notice the hint doesn't match

You will know when it has caught back up when the bot starts responding with "That's the wrong pokemon!" multiple times. You may also experience "phantom pokemon" that don't appear but a hint suggests that a new mon has spawned contradicting the previous image. This happens after bot outages because the servers are likely overloaded as a result of surge activity.

Now, if you don't know, "n" or "next" is a filter used to view the next page without deleting the previous one (assuming you were trying to use the command @Pokétwo#8236 p --name zacian)

Yes so actually, when issues cause a bot (or servers) to reach a critical state and essentially failure, the effects can linger after it being fixed. The bot was rushed to be brought back online, while many members had been waiting 2-3 days to play. At which point when the bot resumed functionality many things came back online with that. Auctions, charms, incenses that stopped during the shutdown, reports flooding in, etc. along with a ton of users and user based commands. Not to mention the recent event playing a role. All of this creates major strain, on an already strained server. That strain results in lag and many issues. Things are likely still being handled and fixed. I’d remind you that this discord server has 260k+ users and Pokétwo having far more than that. The lag is very typical and expected behavior after a major outage like the one that occurred. Things will resume normally over the course of a few days maybe even a week or so.

Try and be appreciative that the bot is even online, as if truly desired the dev could have kept it down to fix all the small issues that have shown up. Many of which are not essential to the bots function. It’s better to get the bot working at 75% than keeping it off to fix small things like speed and phantom Pokemon, things that can be fixed while online.

No, there's definitely less commands happening
The tickets stopped spawning so more people would stop catching as that's when the bot is used the most so less commands are happening compared to before, so there's no surge in activity.

And the bot runs on multiple shards, if each shard is giving the same outcome, it's definitely an issue even after multiple days, you wouldn't expect it, especially since the code should be able to handle it as it has before with more commands being used.

I'm aware of the issues, but the outages doesn't explain it, more so the outage brought the issues to light to be looked into and a temp fix was found whilst the rest is still being looked into.

What's a shard?

Shard is something that makes the bot handle command and events easier.

Example

If a bot is in 2k+ servers, discord recommends bots to shard depending on the servers they are in. So if a bot is in 10k servers, they need around 6-13 shards.

Voting may or may not work right now, however it was definitely not functional during the total outage, it was recommended here not to use the vote function during that outage: #bot-outages message
Master boxes were distributed as compensation (and likely more will be after this instability period resolves, but don't hold me to that I'm not in charge 🫣).

Trading could also be affected by the current partial outage, sorry for the inconvenience. If when the outage is resolved the problem persists, please let us know.

Yeah, voting is very sketchy right now. You might be able to send a valid vote through on top gg, but it probably will not show up as a box in your inventory.
That's what's happening to me most of the time anyway.
