icons don't adapt because they are designed to, the theme maker makes the icon. He chooses that every app with a name will have an icon. So he basically just didn't design opera gx

It's not a theme, it's stock android (at this time Pixel Launcher). Currently in Beta but more and more apps will have this in the future. Some third party apps already do like Battery Guru or Shortcut Maker. The app developer needs to add an adaptive and monochromatic app icon.

Yes, like I said some third party apps already support it. Not many because themed icons are still in beta for now but in the near future this will get more and more popular over time.

It's pretty easy to implement and only requires a few lines of code as you can see in the documentation.

@smoky fossil By the way what you mean is an icon pack but that's something different. The theme is set by your launcher. The Samsung or Google launcher for example automatically creates different color palettes based on your wallpaper to choose from, which will be used system wide.

HBU add a youtube intigration. Just like the player its a overlay that you can also pin to the side of your screen. While watching a video you can click off the overlay to close it. If watching a video if you close the overlay a picture in picture window with the video you were playing will open. I would find this feature quite helpful for comletionists. Currently mobile Opera GX doesn't really have that feel of desktop Opera due to the absence of QoL features such as typing sounds and background music. For the typing sounds I understand that it may be difficult to implement in the browser itself, so instead I suggest pushing a keyboard app (à la the Grammarly and Typewise keyboards) that gives those satisfying sound effects whenever the user types.

That is very specific as elements as you see them may not the be the actual text or the background but the buttons or just a parent element which wouldn't make it very convenient or make sense to implement anything like this. Hey! I have a handful of suggestions for the pinboard feature, and I thought I'd share it here (Yes, I tried to use the suggestion box, but it kept closing on me whenever I got notifications). Before I get into what I think could be improved, I'd like to say that I love the idea of this feature. As someone with ADHD, the accessibility of the pinboard button is incredible. Normally, I'd tell myself that I'll get to it later, but I can just put it into a pinboard with two clicks! Organizing it is a project for when I miraculously find motivation, though.

Firstly, I think that the categories, or folders, or whatever you call them, could have a little title feature. There would be the dividing line, as there is now, but maybe a customizable title that sits above, below, or on the line would be awesome as well! As of right now, I'm using a loose pin to act as a title note.

Next, I'd like to point out that the spacious theme is a little... funky. It looks awesome, but it's pretty small. It takes up about 1/3 of the width of my screen, and I feel like it'd be preferable if it was extended outwards just a little bit more. I think that 1/2 the screen, leaving 1/4 of the screen as a margin on either side, would be a slightly better size for it!

Continuing with the spacious theme, I think it could be beneficial to continue pushing the website-like theme of it! In the description of the spacious theme, it mentions that it resembles a webpage. When I look at it, I can see where it comes from, but it isn't really that alluring for a theme. I would love to see some different types of pins to break up the stale, repeating blocks. They're great, but it just gets difficult looking at them or through them after a while. Pins such as a table of contents pin, a divider/spacer pin, and maybe even some of those fancy image + text blocks! I know that the normal pins cover that, but I think that there could be different styles of them, similar to how google sites does it! Obviously, it's not an actual website. I'd think that these website-like features could add a lot more customization options, and a lot more room for personality!

Building off of the previous idea about varying styles of pins, I think that the new pins could be transferred to the other themes as well! I don't think it'd be good to add different styles of pins to one of the themes, and not the other two. I do, however, think that there would be a different stylistic approach with some of the pins when they are in other pinboard formats. A lot of the image + text pins could take up the space of multiple normal pins, similar to how widgets work on the iPhone. Maybe some of these new pins could be the height of two pins! As for the divider/spacer pins, I think they would be pretty useful on other styles as well. Maybe a divider or spacer would take up 3/4 of the space across horizontally, so it isn't just a useless version of the dividing lines. On top of that, maybe you could add a title onto the dividers or spacers in order to help the organization within the larger categories!

Finally, the last suggestion I have for the time being is to add an option to change the spacing between pins. I feel like some of the pins are too close together, even when on the spacious or default themes. Maybe a slider, or something similar, to change the distance between pins! Nothing too crazy for this one haha!

I'd like to add that the pinboards feature is off to an awesome start! I wouldn't like to see too much change with what there already is. I hate when companies take something that is good, and bombard it with so many changes it isn't even recognizable anymore. The only visual changes that I am suggesting that wouldn't be completely optional would be the amount of space the spacious theme takes up horizontally, and the title for the dividing lines. Even with that, there would be the option to put no title for the dividing lines, and it'd still stay the same as it is! Sorry for the huge amount of text, though!

I would have to say the number one thing I would recommend is for the Mobile app to position the tabs buttons and all the buttons on the bottom bar to the top. I love opera gx and I use it all the time on my PC. I would use it on my phone aswell. But as it is having the top bar, the bottom bar, and the phones normal bottom bar takes up way too much screen space forcing me to use chrome instead. If there could be some way to fit those into the top bar that would be amazing and make the mobile app far more practical

Hey all I am a developer trying to make an extension that does a feature that might be better off being a browser feature, it's a bit of a struggle as an extension

I want to make a split-screenable view within the browser, as if you used the Windows feature to snap two browsers side by side, but only has one set of tabs or omnibar across the top. Essentially within a single window

This would be incredible for me as a user for all the same reasons multiple monitors have except with the conveniences that come with having a single window (readable tabs, re-arranging tabs, life time concurrency, single row of bookmarks, sidebars, etc)

If I make something complete I'll post it here. I think if Opera does it first in an official capacity, it'd be an amazing feature to put it ahead of other browsers.

Partially due to contrast issue, but also due to the fact that the text is sideways. I took me a good hard look to read what it said. Not really a suggestion, but, the browser is mainly advertised as a way of "providing a unique browsing experience for gamers that solves their issues with resource-hungry browsers and provides them with unique aesthetics that match their tastes"

If you want a browser that's more like you want, focused on productivity, multi-tasking and organization I would personally advice you look at using something like Vivaldi as its more sleek & less distracting, of course it's up to personal preference (for example, I use Chrome as a separate, more work focused browser when I'm not gaming or watching videos etc)

I've already made many suggestions before and so have other users. But I didn't see any such suggestions being implemented in all the 6 months that I've been using Opera GX. Instead, we had Widgets, Hacker-view, Gamestrip, RGX, GX Shader, etc in the recent updates. Who the hell even asked for all these?! Nobody. It's because they're totally useless.

The browser is certainly advertised as a way of providing what you said, but it actually does the opposite of what it claims. Opera GX uses more resources even with the limiters on than other browsers like Chrome, Edge. How's that really helping gamers solve their issues with resource-hogging? Obviously, running Chrome in the background while playing games is a more reasonable choice, and that's what I do. Moreover, Opera GX uses limiters which actually limit the browser functionality in some sense, but other browsers use lesser resources without even limiting their own functionalities.

As for aesthetics, sure Opera GX has a unique design in the sense that it's different from other browsers. Although, not very flexible since you can't customize the background of the tab strip besides its primary color. And because of that, it gets old pretty soon if you've been using the browser for months.

You're right about Vivaldi. It seems to be doing what Opera was supposed to do, but didn't. I've been thinking of switching to Vivaldi for real. But the only thing that's been holding me back is Opera's Pinboards and Easy files. But I don't think it'll be long before I compromise to Vivaldi's Notes feature as an alternative to Opera's pinboards if Opera continues to introduce useless features and ignore productivity and multitasking.

You can customize the wallpaper (background) using custom made ones from people, made for certain milestones in an influencer's career, etc from https://addons.opera.com/en/wallpapers/?gx&ref=page though I understand what you mean, it's true that you can't really customize the strips of color besides the range they give you (besides of course the preset ones like Ultraviolet, Sub Zero, etc)

If I'm not wrong, Vivaldi is similar/looks similar to Opera because the company was founded by a co-founder & CEO of opera software

On opera GX mobile even the top bar that shows what you searched is twice as thick as on chrome when in reality it could be much thinner and still fit the text.
