Hello everyone! I have a question about / need help with programming in BeamNG, but I'm not sure which channel is the right one to put this in:

I spend most of my time in BeamNG with watching AI races along pre-defined routes (using the Lua command ai.driveUsingPath with a given wpTargetList)
Before I start the "normal race" where the vehicles drive at the same time, I always like to do a qualifying event. But it's quite awkward always doing it manually, so I'd like to make some kind of automation to it:

• I set up the scene using the Vehicle Group Manager to spawn a group of vehicles in a "Race Grid Alt"
• The vehicles should race along a path (using ai.driveUsingPath() with wpTargetList and noOfLaps) and measure the time separately for each lap. The fastest lap time should be stored as the qualifying time.
• Also the vehicles should automatically enter and exit the qualifying course. Or in other words, as soon as the first vehicle finishes its last qualifying lap, it should leave the course while the second car goes to the starting line. And so on.
• Finally the starting grid should be re-sorted by the qualifying time (and the vehicles should respawn accordingly).

Can someone help me writing corresponding scripts, or at least finding corresponding commands to automate the process described above?

Honestly, that's not a bad build on that body.

One point I'll give you to improve is the wiper configuration - the wipers would've been pointing towards each other on the windshield and made smaller, kinda like on the Burnside Special.

Okay so this may be hard to explain buuuut

Get a Blueprint of said Automobile you want, save as PNG or JPG

Then get a Square patch or Decal, doesnt matter, 3D it and put it next to the car like in the video.

Then go into the paints for it, and scroll until you se custom image, using that you'll be able to import your image, and there ya go, template thingy
