Adding to the other person's response which is correct, the free version of the bot we use only allows 5 different rules so I just shoved those into the offensive language mute, it's been working super well in deterring scam messages

Just be creative and you can get around that for your message

Firstly be more polite to others.
Secondly, no one of us has time to constantly be glued to the screen checking every single channel 24/7. The bot is a tool that's drastically helping us and eliminates human limitations I mentioned. It's really saving people from losing their account or possibly money and maintaining that bot is our job. Everything we have done is voluntary and we do it to keep the server as best as we possibly can while also balancing actual jobs and life.

this is a big server, alongside the fact #off-topic unfortunately does need slow mode, its only there cause 15s seems to be the best compromise between too much or too little slowmode for the majority of people using it. 15s is really nothing, its enough time to read what you want to reply to and come up with an answer with a few seconds on top

I've personally managed servers up to a quarter million users for years and participate in servers up to a million or more members.

1-2 seconds is the most that's usually needed for idle chit chat with the occasional bump up to 10-20 seconds during everyone pings.

I believe this server has 150k. There's a certain point in which the member count becomes meaningless outside of everyone pings.

Oh it's definitely chaotic for about an hour and we'd have all hands on deck from a moderation standpoint. We stopped doing them after we hit 100k members. 😄

In my experience when you have thousands of people chatting at once, increasing slow mode beyond 20 seconds doesn't make a huge difference in rate of all messages being sent. It's definitely nice to have during those bursts of high activity.

I have absolutely nothing against using slow mode and I'm not here to tell you how to run your server - you know way better than me the nuances of running this particular server. If 15 seconds is working well for you, then fantastic! I'm just giving my feedback from a member point of view and that 1-2 seconds may be a much more user friendly experience.

Yea i understand that. It's just i don't knew that as a user if that's the case. But how to improve?:
I would suggest to have a pinned message in the Discord channels for Bugs and as well as all the other feedback related channels that contains a list of all bugs or feature requests that users made you already have on the todo list or at least have read those. So every time someone wants to report a bug or suggest something. The person can click on the pinned icon and see the post if it's already have been reported. Just to know BeamNG Devs are aware of those. Or have some reaction to some post someone made like a checkmark emoji, just to know it didn't got flooded by following messages and got already seen by BeamNG Devs. Just to have a bit more organised and if possible, some moderation to prevent discussions in those channels. Maybe use the new Discord Thread option so people can discuss about these bugs in dedicated thread instead everything in just one gaint channel. Same concept applies to the actual forum too.

I've noticed toxicity in this community. Particularly with those who have been here longer than others forgetting that new people exist each and everyday, throwing insults at or making fun of people over suggestions and or needing help with something. The moderators don't seem to care. I know I'm going to be attacked by a couple fools here soon, after all, it's usually the most foolishly prideful ones with the loudest mouths. No one should be treated less for leaving a suggestion or asking why they can't send pictures, it is foolish and immature. "well they should read, use their brains and eyes" most of us are not going to scroll through 100+ messages, most of us are not always as active as others. 1. Most if not all of us have the attention span of a goldfish.

2. It is natural and actually more logical to ask why I can't do this or that, rather than check a channel. It's a natural reaction to all, and even if the bot tells me how and I see it, there can and could be other factors preventing me from doing so.

3. Most of us simply are not often active and or have notifications off.

4. There are people who will ask why they can't do this or that and may close out the app, giving a chance for the person to not see the reply. Everyone sends texts and immediately closes out the app, why? I don't know, they could be working on a task, helping out with something else, etc.

When you take these factors into consideration and quit being some arrogant and ignorant dumbass, let me know.

I still see various users that still feel comfortable with posting borderline NSFW pictures with suggestive content in #off-topic. I think the rules need to be rewritten to be more concise and explicit about ZERO TOLERANCE regarding anything NSFW or suggestive, as this is a 13+ server. In addition, I understand the very small number of staff on the mod team right now, but I still can't stress how this needs to be more strictly enforced for the protection of the children in this server.

It sounds obvious, but I've seen an incident where its been 16 and 19 and so then it was tricky because in most of Europe (where the mod and the game is based), it is 16 as age of consent, so it wasn't being a pedophile, but in the USA where the 16 yearold was and is located, it is 18. So it would be. Hence the need for proper clarifications

Hey just a quick reminder to the moderators, the guy you banned yesterday called covet_needs_parts for tagging the community guide role in a qoute.
that guy spent 12 hours a day after the update helping people fix their game so they could play again, ontop of that he was constantly in #support helping people with their issues even before i joined this server.

i already commented on how bloody stupid you guys are for making a role that half of the server has that can just be pinged by any spastic with a keyboard, and it showed again yesterday why it is a bad idea.
