And btw, the mods here are doing this voluntarily and are spending their free time, so it's just fair to disable the DC server links, to not bother the mods with deleting these invites from every single channel every hour or so, until there is a better way of sorting links.

currently this is the best we can do for preventing scam servers, it was a huge issue and disabling invites has prevented hundreds of server invites, and even more importantly protected vulnerable people from falling for those from our server.

we know it isn't ideal, and the mute is handled automatically by a bot and does not count towards any of your warning history.

we cannot have eyes here 24/7, not when we have jobs/studies/life to handle, no matter the amount of moderators we could have

This is probably stuff moderators haven't seen or had attention directed at since we rely on reports and pings to catch out this stuff

Generally if people aren't aware of the issues with modland etc, they need to be taught it, many people just don't know what's wrong with using third party sites

It shouldn't be a warn or mute unless it's intentionally spreading malicious software or otherwise paid mods for free

I see lots of discussions around JBeam editing and general vehicle modding in #mods-discussion but not much about level making or guidance. I really don't know since when you've been active here, but a lot of this server has been shaped around feedback from the community using it. Loads of channel additions and changes to how certain channels are used, language chats, rule changes even.

We've fucked up before whether you've seen that or not and every time that happens it gets a big discussion going for us. I also even said it last time it will happen again because of the human factor. Ultimately I personally really want the mod team to have a good image, but any position with any authority will always have negativity surrounding it too but we wanna do our best

I think the slowmo is fine because for a config channel I think it'd be nice to have less messages otherwise configs will just end up being lost. What could be handy is having a config share channel and a config discussion channel, just so they don't get buried by conversation. However that's my 2 cents lol. Love the channel idea, but just so configs aren't lost and people can talk about them, a discussion channel on configs would be nice.

Sorry guys but threads won't work for moderation reasons, the forums alone are already an issue for that. Bots also don't work in those last I recall checking.

As for the slowmode, discussion is okay but it's not intended for a full length conversation hence the slow mode

I would like to talk about some of the distinctions between language channels.
At the moment, the rules are written in such a way that #off-topic the only channel, and also the channel that is subject to off-topic, and communication in it in English, not taking into account that some people, including me, know English not only in spoken and written form, but also use it, I would like to see the possibility of off-topic in language areas brought up for discussion channels without any restrictions by rules, because if we are honest, audiences of different ages ≠ the same level of knowledge of English, and standard add-ons YAGPDB it is quite enough to be able to stop some violations (which it copes with quite well). I agree, ignorance of the rules does not exempt from responsibility, but the absurdity of fixing a single channel and introducing it in English partly ruins not only the discussion specifically about the game, but and loses the opportunity to find like-minded people even within the game, because in fact, every dialogue has the possibility of going off-topic for a while.
Bottom line: Guys, without basic English, or using a translator (without violating Discord TOS) for each message, still have to grasp the essence, have time to respond, or, in fact, violate the rules and be sanctioned for their violations
