if you just move it in the body jbeam by using node offset, you won't have to move each piece individually.
Just find suspension_R and put node offset

you shouldn't be moving any suspension jbeams in blender if your unexperienced

then you've done something wrong in that line of code.
start over with the supsension for the rear and then use the node offset

How do i properly reinforce the wheels so they dont twist from torque when engaging launch control?
It happens even on vanilla vehicles

maybe i can give you whole of this to check what's wrong.
So when you engage lc alot of pressure builds up on the rear wheels causing the hubs (i think) to twist, so the whole wheels with the brakes is turning a few degrees
You would need to add a lot more support beams and up the beam strength. But i mean in real life this would also happen you just bend the axles tho
It either squats or pushes thru the brakes but it shouldnt twist the whole suspension, also with some vanilla vehicles the car rocks a bit on its wheels when coming to a stop, but ill try and see if adding additional support beams does anything
You might wanna make the tire jbeam wider, right now only the inner half of the tire seems to have collisions
It's highly unstable if I go any wider than that.
One funny things That i attempted is Moving the rear suspension same location as Fuel Tank (blame General Motors)
Could be too springy I suppose, but the truck jumps all over the place. It's quite entertaining

Yes,Yes, and you can have quite a lot but at some point you may have mods that react with eachother and break things so its good to install mods and make sure everything works before installing another one

you would have to open the car in automation and at the end of the vehicle customization page there is an export to beam ng button click it then find the zip file in ur moods folder

We're using BeamNG.Drive as our driving simulator to allow our graduate design students to explore the possibilites for in-vehicle multimodal (digital, voice, haptic, and gesture) experiences. Kinda like paper prototyping but with real touch controls...but it won't be connected. Still pretty powerful.

Yeah, the iPad won't be connected. We have a powerful computer and a 34" curved monitor and the logitech driving wheel and pedals. The iPad will be a satellite device on an arm to mimic an in-dash touchscreen. Not connected - but we can mirror

We will mount the iPad Mini on an arm so that it's right next to the wheel. Figma prototypes with touch ability will allow us to mimic driver controls, and it isn't perfect.

Some of our designers aren't really that code savvy. We want to give them the opportunity to express ideas...but I also know that the software allows for mods.
So, want to give them the opportunity to really add an app that we can display in the dash in Beam
there might also be someone relevant from part of the team working on one of the audi mods, havent kept up with it. they were doing some pretty trick things to get "modern car stuff" working. probably a handful of others too, but not many

a lot of the "fun modern/future tech" stuff isnt performant in beam, zeit has spoken a few times about trying to get various things to work and needing to cut them due to requiring performance intensive stuff. if this goes forward, defo give the students a headsup about optimisation

Angular is legacy but I belive can still be used for the time being. You should use Vue though for LTS
There already exists an Android app to drive cars using your phone (check the settings) as well as some apps that let you show gauges from the game on your phone'
You probably would be able to send information from the car's controller over the network or bluetooth to your devices to display info
I'd reccomend seeing how other tools do so to build your utility

i was under the impression that the app was no longer supported? yeah, there is some really cool stuff you can get communicated to/from the game. stuff like actual car dashes and wiper stalk support can be done too, that might interest the students

Both are supported but currently angular is still the framework you're supposed to use for UI apps
You can use vue if you set an isVue flag in the info.json and export the module manually (aka add that to the Vue file responsible for that, beam doesn't do that automatically)

I need to use 18 XL cargo boxes in a trailer and there are only 16 unique normally, so I thought if I split it into 3 slots then I can reuse them - but it still doesnt work.
Should I just include a clone of a cargo box in my mod, like adding a cargobox_xl_90_degrees_Z box or smt?

Either base the mod on another, already existing car, or start with smaller modding projects first

Depends on how you do it. If you keep the jbeam the same and slap on a different model, yes. But if you mix and match parts from different cars, modifying the jbeam to match your project, then no (imo)
The main difference from making it all from sratch would be that you have a base to work off. Scratch making jbeam stuff is a pain if you don't have prior experience
In any case I'd recommend the other option, starting with smaller project. For example some new parts for one of the vanilla cars

As for how to make and edit them, the standard option will be in text form, as that is what a .jbeam file is. But there are tools to edit them in 3d, like the official Blender plugin

I'd say it really depends on the project, simpler mods can be quick and easy to make yeah, and then you can work your way up from there, learning more as you go :)

How do I reinstall BeamNG game files? I accidentally edited Utah in the world editor and now it doesn't show as a level to load into freeroam. When i try to play a Utah scenario, it just puts me on a random map and the scenario glitches out.
No need to reinstall anything, edits made in the world editor are saved separately from the original files
You can find them in your userfolder/0.34/levels/ - just delete the utah folder that's in there

Similar issue to the map thing - Those are probably custom configs you made for those mods, which are still saved even when the mod is deleted
For those, the location is userfolder/0.34/levels/carname/
There should be a bunch of .pc (config) files and thumbnail images in there that you can get rid of
Another possibility is that other mods add configs for those mods - for example a skin mod adding a skin (and config to go with it) to a car mod that you don't have installed

well the wight is handled by node weight in the jbeams all the node weights combined equals total wieght and stiffness is kinda up to you because there arent really any numbers i know f irl that show vehicle stiffness

Nvm i used the "Engine-Info" UI App and paid attention at which Torque the engine is getting damaged. In my case it was around 1,2-1,3k Nm. So if ill reach it once ill not floor it again next time.

if you want this to be a beamng mod you are goingto have a mnore detailed model, it seems you have no underbody, the design is also very weird
it seems like a retro car with huge rims and tiny tires thats utilitarian but luxurious, the bodylines are very weird for sure and it looks like a subdivided model (very highpoly and bad for beamng)
actually i've made some test of the body of the vehicle on beamng it worked fine even if it's quite smooth and all, yeahh also for the rims and wheels i think i went a little far on that hahahahah wait i'll try to show you more details of it cuz i've even made the suspension, the chassis, a little bit of the interior, a shitload of things but it looks like it has nothing ( it's myfault, i didnt render the rest lol )

thing is retro designs generally cant be adapted to modern cars apart from then rough shape, you basically did it the other way, the lights and trim and overall design generally straight up dont work, so you generally just take the shape and redesign the elements from scratch
take in this- even if i dont particularly like it, it looks like a renault 5, but also looks model
here it's on a first level subdivision, i can go to 2 maxi for it to work on beamng, here is the body video testing

it is reccomended to mess with already existing vanilla content instead of trying to make your own
