I have a question about resetting objects or vehicles in the sky. I’ve been setting up multiple floating vehicles in the sky, and I want them to reset back to their original positions after falling or being used during gameplay.
Currently, I’m finding it quite tedious to manually set them back up every time they fall. Is there a way to automate this process so the vehicles can be reused without needing to manually reset their positions each time?

hey, does someone know how can i make a chrome material? If i make the material fully metallic and 0 roughness it just turns to black. And if i decrease the metallic value a bit it just is a glossy dark grey.
I just use the Mirror material, works good for me. If you want you can make a custom material (idk how tho) but its a lot harder
but its update-proof if they ever change the Mirror material from vanilla cars
Chrome is generally
Basecolor : white
Metallic value : 1
Roughness value 0.2-0.4 depending on how shiny you want it, if you set it to 0 it shouldn't go black, but it will look very shiny and odd

The mirror material is made to be used in mirrors so it has some normal map stuff and it's also way too shiny for chrome

by the way unless you bought a domain your IP is probably dynamic, meaning it changes every once in a while

go to your routers config, set up DCHP binding to keep your local IP from changing and forward that port to your local IP

especially since the 1.8 engine is modeled after late 90s 626 1.8 and 2.0 single and doublecam engines, and the mazda 323, has a 1.4 that looks nearly identical

you say it makes 0 sense, when it does make sense, the engine is japanese, but you cant tell by looking at it, its a lump of metal, which as "unfitting" as it might be. its easier to implement and will probably look better since your engine model looked mid. by modifying an existing engine you also get the benefit of learning how to model engines, that you can later implement into making a full on engine when you are experienced enough. and by what youve said, you dont know how to texture, which is what makes the difference between good and bad. but go on and do whatever you feel like

theres 0 block detail, theres no constrast in metalicness, it just looks like plastic, the wiring has sharp 90 degree bends in cables, the coilplugs are complete ass the alternator doesnt have atexture, the intake filter makes no sense, the engine cover makes no sense, the enginbaycrap is from the mk2 pessima, the intake manifold is too long, the throttlebody is wrong, the exhaust header iirc had a garbage texture

the transmission is mk2 pessima but without the mk2 pessima textures
the pulleys are there but they dont make any sense, theres also no ac, power steering or anything a modern car would have

this exuast manifold is taken im pretty sure from the mk1 pessima turbo manifold it has a distributor but coil packs at the same time

From a modder POV: How do yall stand the people who hate your work cause they think you made it worse, yet you made it better? I ran with a server that has my Outlaw F8 car. An they had to use -13 grivity cause the version of the mod they had had a old flipping issue i have been fixed. It disappoints me that theres people out there that dont understand the Pain, Thought, and Hours of No sleep that goes into Mod updates. How do yall deal with it?

Well generally you refer to those images as textures, and the whole setup, a material, this is a material, it's comprised of a base color, roughness and normal map, however I've adjusted the color values inside blender

Why isn’t my texture showing up? I'm trying to build a chrome plate that sits at the bottom of the bumper. The "fts" text isn't engraved, and the chrome didn't transfer from blender.

For a brand new modder usually 2-3 weeks but it depends on the depth and scope of your project.
For a well known modder its usually a week at most
Any mod updates are the next day.
Mods only get checked on workdays too ofc

Hey, so recently in my vehicles folders I have found a textdocument that says that putting car mods into content --> vehicles isn't the right way, and it's telling me to go to a website to see how it fully works, just wanted to know if it's actually the wrong way or a scam/hack website trying to get me.

The text file is right, you shouldn't be putting mods directly in your game files.
Instead, put them in your userfolder, then /0.33/mods/ here
BeamNG doesn't do anything with Blender materials. The only thing that matters, is the name of the material
That then needs to match the name of a material in a something_materials.json file, where all the textures and settings of the material are specified
Said file can be edited with a text editor, or with the materials panel in the in-game world editor

Each will ofc have different tuning options, including optional turbo setups on the 3.0 and 2.5. we shall see. im thiking 185hp 2.5na. 240hp 3.0NA. 255hp 2.0T. stock numbers of course. got some time ahead of me for that though

modify the volume of exhaust, amount of afterfire, amount of afterfire particles, volume of particles
and to change the exhaust sound you need to edit the engine since the engine and exhaust sounds are defined in that code, there you can play with highshelf,lowshelf and a few very simple eq features

the current sound system has been unchanged basically since the start, the samples just have gotten better, at some point they want to make it better, but i imagine simulating the exhaust is too much compute for such a minor detail and out of the scope of the simulation

Diffrent exhaust systems for diesel requires a certain flow and if the exhaust system is not treated it can restrict. Especially when ur loaded up this is what I was interested in but it doesn't seem like it's a property of the game so thanks

nah that would never be simulated, this is a car game in which the mayority of cars are gasoline or small european diesels, adding this kind of simulation makes no sense, if we ever get proper exhaust simulation its also probably for making sounds
Well shit everything else on a diesel is extremely accurate. I repair diesel for a living and I have yet to find any differences. Beam is an exeptionaly powerfull tool and it bugs me when my friends call it a shit video game. Witch I hate that I can't disagree completely yk

How much is involved in bringing a car into BeamNG? I'd prefer to set my own wheelbase and the like rather than a mesh slap. I'm guessing half decent Jbeams are the worst part?
Theres a lot that goes into it but im experimenting feeding a ton of data into GPT 4o and having it take some of the load off. I've used it for other development projects before with tons of success so I would suggest doing that to help out since it gets pretty complex

Ah. Jbeams are the hardest part in my opinion. I've never ventured that far into modding I dont have much experience, but I know that there's some software you can use to visually edit them, or import them into blender. Thats about the extent of my knowledge with that

Using 3rd party sites for mods is not recommended. Lots of low quality and/or stolen mods, and potentially even virusses. The only official places to get mods from are the in-game repository, the website version of that same repository (https://www.beamng.com/resources/) and the forums (https://www.beamng.com/categories/mods.23/)
Paid mods use 3rd party sites for the payment, like Ko-Fi, Gumroad, Patreon. Just make sure the mod has a forum page too, like this one for example https://www.beamng.com/threads/gavril-scout-18-24-paid.88644/
And lastly, the search function of the forums is... not great. If you're looking for something specific, try googling site:beamng.com and then whatever you are looking for behind it
Doesnt matter it's easy to add a serial number just send the mod separately instead of having a shared folder but I've sold a little over a hundred so far

I have put out like 8 updates and I do one on one support for people I put in the work because mines a passion project that I want to people to enjoy and know I'm a decent person I help so many people it isn't funny my dm's are full of helping people make mods and shit I just like what I do and am glad to do it if it keeps my mods from being leaked i also have random ass people defending me on the beam ng leaked reddit were people try and get the mod leaked
