yes, the reality is people will have predetermined biases that you just can't get past. some people are prejudiced based on race, culture, gender etc. best you can do is try your best and believe that your skills will speak for themselves. in all seriousness regarding looks: whenever you have your camera on in a video call make sure you are facing a window that has sunlight coming through it. It is in 30 minute blocks, each with a different engineer and I got one 30 minute block for a break, and then a 15 minute chat with the recruiter. Should I just keep grinding leetcode? Hey Guys I posted a similar question a day or two ago but I wanted add some context cause I wanna make sure I go about this the right way.

I just had an interview with a Unicorn for a systems admin internship interview this past Thursday. The interview went great he liked my projects, he liked my passion for the product, and my past leadership skills and all that. In the job requirements it said I needed a certification that is required for the internship. I didn’t have this completed before the interview but I mentioned in the beginning of the interview I started it and would get the certification done this weekend. At the end of the interview I asked him “based on anything we said today do you have any hesitation in hiring me”. He said no not really the only thing that would give him hesitation is I don’t have the certification yet. He said it wasn’t that big of a deal. Then he asked me to make my case as to why I should get hired without certification. Made a pretty good case. Then he said he’ll let me know of the next steps. He said Hell let my know if I move on on Monday. My plan was to grind out the certification and send a follow up email thanking him for his time in the interview and also letting him know I’ve completed the certification with a screenshot of the completed certification attached. Before the decision on Monday plan on sending it tomorrow afternoon.

Just want to see what you guys think if this a good or bad idea will this hurt my chances?
