lmao
I mean, my stl skills ahve improved quite a bit since leetcoding, but the actual patterns themselves seem totally irrelevant to work
Oooo nice
There is a website with all the patterns let me send it
A curated list of leetcode questions grouped by their common patterns
go through these
they are blind 75 and a bit more
then after you can crunch some random leetcode med
once you are at a comfortable level
first do grokking
to learn the patterns
Thanks a lot!!!
Yeah I feel like mine have improved a bit
Still not enough for interviews tho
Hopefully that mode kicks in soon
I am hoping to be ready by August when applications open up
You got this man good luck
fingers crossed
was hoping to hear back from siemens and cadence but they don't seem to want to respond to me =/
siemens replied 2 weeks ago that their hiring manager was reviewing resumes, then didn't hear anything back since
Damn don't worry man I believe in you. You will get something better
well I have OAs for better companies but also much harder to pass xD
I figured something like siemens I could ez it
just looking to get a couple years doing C++/distributed systems in whatever decent company I can find then move on from there
not super easy to find as a new grad since most of the jobs seem to be mobile or web
do you guys pay for educative subscription or just buy grokking for full price?
Anyone interview with rubrik for new grad position
can we work as a paid intern on F-1 OPT?
yes
you can do internships on OPT
but not advised cuz it takes away OPT time thats why most ppl do CPT
who tf is that jane street new grad
marry me and have my children so they can have at least an ounce of your intelligence in them
thank u
š
i bet if they slapped me some brain cells would transfer over
430k š«š«
good for them man
they're currently my motivation to get off my lazy ass and finish my work
thank u whoever u are
king or queen
new grad ?
Yup
damn congrats to whoever got that
100k signing holy fuck
I think FB also gives similar
Fb please hire me
Citadel is the only one which will pay more than that lol
$75k
Stytch raised $30M Series A..... and I got the L from them
Mark my words that startup finna be a š
I donāt think salary submissions are vetted
Bc I submitted before without verification
Unless things changed
is it kinda too late to apply to new grad positions in august if I'm graduating in december?
ok thanks š
we don't hard vet but we do have to approve every salary submission
and we obviously know who submitted things
!process google
You can only use this command in #2021_grad_process or #2021_intern_process
You think? Its just an authentication api
Is 30M alot for series A?
hey guys so I applied for role on LinkedIn and turns out that role for a mid level to senior level developer. But its seems like they did not had many applicants (i was only 2 on linkedin) so the recturter called me for an interview. I am meeting with him tomorrow. I am wondering what should I expect as the potion is for senior developer in there job description and I don't have that experience
You don't have experience and applied for senior level position

The recruiter will probably just ask you about your experience and qualifications
If you are only meeting with the recruiter then there is probably no technical side
Bruh I got a final interview for an experienced position and then got rejected lol
Wasnt expecting to get an offer tho lol
Sheesh you went all the way to final ?
Fang ?
How many did you have ?
Mine is more like 5+
2
and I am in negative
Probably close enough for them to ignore it
Maybe I should apply to all the 3+ years jobs too
Get some practice in OA
In my defense they posted it in entry level in linkedIn and the experience requirements was buried in wording. They were pretty vauge about it
Linkedin entry level is a joke tbh
Citadel paid 480k to a new grad he had competing offer from jane street
a lot of real entry level jobs are not tagged and there's a lot of 3+ yoe tagged entry level
Nani the fuck
š¤Æ
Is the work at citadel or js actually good for your growth as a new grad though?
It feels a little short sighted to just focus on $$$ vs long term growth
Itās a pretty sizable amount. Founded by Plaid CEO/CTO, and only has 20 ppl
Passwordless API could be hot given worries about cyber security
No wonder all these cybersec startups are announcing their findings now
What kind of growth
U mean ceo is ex-plaid
Definitely an interesting space
Yes
Technical? Like for example Iād never do citadel
Because I hear itās a lot of glued-together work
you wouldnāt take a citadel offer ?
I'd do citadel in a heart beat. but I also don't have the resume to get into citadel so it's moot
Yo does is anyone looking for a FT gig w/ experience w/ mobile using flutter or react native or swift I can refer someone its at Leidos
Bro what
I wouldnāt if I had a more engineering focused one. I think Google or fb for example are better in the long run. Thereās some engineering-focused but Iād say most arenāt
Depends what drives you, if you're a huge tech fan and not so much into finance Facebook or Google sounds way more appealing
I agree but starting at +400k is crazy
Hard to pass up on
Yeah idk Iāve kinda steered away from those places. I just think In like 4-5 years anyone at Google or fb has access to way way more opportunities
Google and fb are p team dependent imo
I had a mentor who worked 5 years at google and he said he felt growth was stagnant
Oh ya for sure but even then the opportunities you get from an external perspective are imo way better
Also from my experience while yes it can feel like youāre not learning, youāre still dealing with a metric ton of complexity
I feel like financial systems are way more complicated than your avg tech systems
100% agree, adding to that the fact that consequences for bugs can be disastrous ( you're not dealing with 'just' users, can make or break the economy, quite literally ). Security is also way more important. Makes me think that kind of TC isn't overpaying
Idk thereās a reason finance firms and unicorns poach Google and you never see citadel people go be tech leads elsewhere
They have more complex business logic but not necessarily more complex technical systems
I wouldn't take cit for 400 with 80 hour work week
for the same reason i wouldn't take amazon for 170
I mean surely that has something to do with comp as well. Like it's not even worth trying to poach someone you can't afford.
working 8-9 isn't worth
if you are good enough to get cit, you are good enough to get better wlb for less tc
So I was wondering, what makes the process at places like Citadel more difficult? Is it because they ask for more than OAs, or is it just that they're OAs are more difficult (like LC hard)?
the oa doesn't even matter
because you get resume screened after the oa
the oa is automatic
you probably wouldn't get a phone screen unless you are target or already broke into the industry
or google/fb already
I see! Because I don't know anything about fin companies and never had any interest in them, but earlier this year I participated in Stanford's Hackathon and they were sponsoring
And obviously, they sent swag, made sure they sent everyone info about their internships and new grad
the sponser bc stanford
interviews are probably also hard
but if you can't get the interview you can't do anything
Okay I see what is part of the problem now ahah
Thx for making it clearer
I'm pretty happy to be here, it changes a lot of things when we're all able to push each other to access these very highly guarded things. I wasn't even aware of all of that even like 3 months ago
i had the initial snapchat interview today and i was able to solve 2 leetcode easy problems but got stuck/ ran out of time on the 3rd one, is that enough to move onto the next step or no
Would anyone like a Clubhouse invite? Dm me if interested.
gl
gl
Redcoat?
nah not london
is there a posting for snap
when youāre getting poached for non-new grad I donāt think the money is the issue usually.
good luck
there was a new grad position posted on linkedin like 3 weeks ago i donāt see it anymore though
does your graduation timeline make a difference for full time hiring? If suppose I were to graduate in the Fall semester as opposed to spring, would most companies allow me to join as a new grad in spring?
would most companies allow me to join as a new grad in spring?
yes
If you graduated in the past year, interested in a SWE position at Cisco in Canada and you good with Python, Cpp, Sys arch. Hmu with a resume and I'll toss it to a manager there that is looking for ppl
The one in Ottawa ?
its probably ottawa
Anybody here interested in trading referrals?
anyone know whatās going on with FB intern/coop referrals? Is it just instant rejection?
I am pretty sure its that cause they just look at your resume quicker
so it seems like instant reject
Thatās crazy, I have 4 SWE internships and TA position. Not saying I deserve anything but damn.
uh
get a better referral?
ik people who got fb interviews with like 0-1 internships
what is a "better referral"
Does anyone know how seriously does Google take GPA into consideration for OA/interview? They've been asking for transcripts. Mine is 3.51 but have an F in a course. Lol.
Not too seriously p sure
Nah you good, I have a 3.3 and got to the final round
Best thing to buy using my work from home reimbursement? Given that I already have chair and table
Extra monitor, a nice mouse and keyboard, a better chair, laptop stand, etc. Depends on your needs really.
Are mechanical keyboards worth it,m
I am thinking to go for a 60 percent mechanical keyboard
In my case, I was given a MacBook pro with a shitty keyboard. I needed a better one. But I went for a regular keyboard. Mechanical keyboard personally didn't matter to me. I think getting an extra monitor can boost your productivity by a lot!
Which keyboard did you go for?
I bought an Apple keyboard because of its compatibility with MacBooks, and I generally like apple products. But if you're looking to get the most value out of your reimbursement, it may not be an ideal keyboard for you. Then better go for mechanical if you're into it!
A good monitor will make a much bigger difference than getting a mechanical keyboard
MX master mouse and MX keys from logitech are my favorite of all time
Although a little expensive
Second on mx master. Also get a couple monitors. Mechanical keyboard is optional but they are pretty cheap nowadays as well.
headphones
^ get Sennheiser 6XX highly recommend (unless you're in an office environment, I'd get the Sony wf-xm1000 or w/e the name is)
does your company cover hardware (i.e. monitor) separately? if so then go for the keyboard if not then go for a monitor, also +1 for good headphones
building a mechnical keyboard is expensive don't fall down that rabbit hole like i did
anyone got the VMware Launch program OA?
Is anyone here good at desk setups and down to have me private message them to help me w products/ buying the right desk?
Thanks!
same ^ i want a wide standing desk
Same lol
Do people actually like standing desks??
This is a legit question btw i think i would feel weird typing while standing
Yeah I think it's nice to stand for a bit after sitting for hours
https://www.autonomous.ai/standing-desks this is the one I have. Its great.
I got one because I hate sitting all day
Like yea you can take breaks and get up, but it's also nice to be able to work while standing once in a while
Cool good to know I'll consider getting one
The prices are kind of high though
Small price to pay to not ruin your back
Short term cost for long term health
which did you get?
how wide is it? would it be cramped if i wanted to put my pc and a 32 inch monitor on it?
i suppose i could get the frame and then buy my own topper
like could i slap an ikea karlby top on the frame and be gucci lol
@hard plinth phone screen is easy. They gonna ask two behavioural and two easy/medium-easy questions.
Your code should be able to pass the given test cases
^
My interview was two years ago but i got two easies and a trie question
Trie question was final rd not cp
Heard its harder this yr tho
What did u get?
got a minimum sum path problem and an encryption problem(shorten n repeating characters recursively)
damn ecnryption problem
ive never done that before
minimum sum path dp? any LC equivalent?
but the minimum sum path wasn't in the form of a matrix, it's like they give you the bounds of the matrix, 2 ints as starting positions, and 2 ints as final position then 2 1d arrays represending cost to move right and cost to move down
i mean algorithmicly it's similar to the leetcode one but implementation totally different
if you didn't do the question before hand, I don't think you'd get it on the OA
like if you get a string abbcccb n = 3
it would get turned into abbb n first call
then just a on the 2nd call
hmm dont really qutie get the qusetion youre phrasing
but hey man, hope u get the next round
did u pass the test cases?
the string one or the minimum path sum one
wait is this kinda like 1d candy crush?
never did candy crush
first thought would be some sorta stack solution
I just append everything to a new string and have a counter
if it reaches n. delete last n characters
then put the wohle thing in a while loop
and flag if there is a deletion during the while loop, if no deletion determinate the loop
ah seems like backtrackign than dp
or is backtrackign considered dp
it's a variation of that question, not exactly the way it is in the one
in the leetcod eone you are given a matrix where M[i][j] is the value at that square
the one I got you got 2 lists representing the cost to go right or down from that square
for the string one.
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
string CompressWord(string word, int k){
while(1) {
bool erase = false;
string temp = "";
char prev = word[0];
int count = 0;
for(auto &c:word){
temp.push_back(c);
if(c == prev){
count++;
if(count == k){
temp.erase(temp.size()-k);
count = 0;
erase = true;
}
}
else{
prev = c;
count = 1;
}
}
if(!erase){
return temp;
}
else {
word = temp;
}
}
}
int main(){
string first = "aba", second = "baac", third = "abbcccb";
string firstout = "aba", secondout = "bc", thirdout = "a";
cout << firstout.compare(CompressWord(first,2)) << " " << CompressWord(first,2) << endl;
cout << secondout.compare(CompressWord(second,2)) << " " << CompressWord(second,2) << endl;
cout << thirdout.compare(CompressWord(third,3)) << " " << CompressWord(third,3) << endl;
}
the min path one seems similar to the other dp grid problem that asks to count the number of paths from top left to bottom right
but instead of dp relation being the sum of the cell to the top and the cell to the left of curr, now its the min of the two I think
I've done maybe 3-4 DP questions before. was totally not prepared for it
youre right
im an idiot i didnt se only can move down and right
was wondering why i got TLE
I just did all the ones in this list for goldmans achs https://seanprashad.com/leetcode-patterns/
A curated list of leetcode questions grouped by their common patterns
yeah only reason I could think of the solution for this one is because I did the other variation of the problem
for DP more than other types of problems the way to get better is to keep doing more problems so you can abstract any problem you encounter down to a recurrence relation
tried dijkstras lol
def minPathSum(self, grid: List[List[int]]) -> int:
rows, cols = len(grid), len(grid[0])
start, end = (0, 0), (rows-1, cols-1)
heap = [(grid[0][0], start)]
min_cost = [[math.inf for i in range(cols)] for i in range(rows)]
while heap:
cost, to_visit = heappop(heap)
r, c = to_visit
min_cost[r][c] = cost
if r == end[0] and c == end[1]:
return cost
for x, y in [(0, 1), (1, 0)]:
r2, c2 = r + x, y + c
if 0 <= r2 < rows and 0 <= c2 < cols:
if cost + grid[r2][c2] < min_cost[r2][c2]:
heappush(heap, (cost + grid[r2][c2], (r2, c2)))
return -1```
did not help one bit
the robot one right
dont worry man you'll get there
seeing this problem now can help u for the next š
I have squarepoint OA tomorrow and akuna OA tuesday
will need it
yo if u dont mind, could you drop or dm ur resume? wanna see how much I have to grind to even have a shot at passing JS resume screen
sry i dont really wna be doxxed, mentioned this before
but i did a good cover letter write up on algo trading
which i believe made me stand out
my resume is nothing special IN MY OPINON
im not a math olympiad or from T50
Sounds like this one https://leetcode.com/problems/remove-all-adjacent-duplicates-in-string-ii
oh nah its all good I understand
Hey @broken meteor i dont have a JS interview lined up or anything but im very curious as to what the questions are gna be
yeah that basically
I had that one on my bloomberg onsite
ill say it here without breaking ndas
Ah cool thanks šš
ahh. that one wasnt super hard, but I didnt find it trivial at first try
hmm
intersting problem
naive method woudl be keep checking
Yeah
im thinking if theres a SW method
What i do is i have an array that keeps track of the starting index for the current continuous substring
first comment on the solutions lol
l to be index of first letter in substring -1 and r to be +1
hmm but doesnt make sense either
HAHA
i want to be that guy
for google / fb
I just want to randomly find the winning numbers for the next powerball draw on leetcode forum
you didn't pass bloomberg?
Nah
what is EM interview
Last step in the process
oh yeah, didnt the em ask you some crazy stat questions or something?
Yeah

dang, unlucky
But then u have to keep iterating to find out how many continuous chars u have
True, only thing u can do is practice more to make rng less impactful
i just wanna get into a easier company at this point lol but easier companies wont gimme OA
Theres more easy companies than ones hiring with leetcode tbh
They just dont pay as well
im specifically looking for C++ jobs doing distributed systems so theres not as many palces hiring new grads for it
R u willing to relocate?
Yeh
like if I did web or mobile i'd have way more options but I dont do web or mobile
or know anything about web or mobile for that matter
i had an android development course where we made an uber esque app and I hated that shit so much I proptly deleted android studio off my macbook the moment the course ended
figure distributed systems or ML/Vision is my best bet, but ML/Vision are looking for ms or above
what about infra?
i dont really know what the difference between infra and distributed systems is
like if you do data platform/infra work, it's mostly distributed systems anyway is it not?
ive always thought of distributed systems as a subset of infra, like it doesnt necessarily need to be distributed
i dont really know enough about the field to differentiate it
like I wouldnt mind getting a job at EA doing the origin store content distribution platform
but they wont reply to my application š¦
applied at valve and they told me to check back in 10 years
Got a 60" version of this https://www.bdiusa.com/products/centro-6452-2-large-modern-white-height-adjustable-standing-desk
Probably spent too much on it š
Infra is much less application coding, more focus on tools like Terraform, provisioning resources for clusters,etc.
That's oddly specific. Also a lot of distributed systems work is not in C++, often in other languages like Java or Go. Why specifically C++?
i have an algo which works now except last test case
i used a doubly linked list
I dont do java tho
pseudo code here :
d --> e --> e --> e --> d--> b --> b --> c --> c --> c --> b --> d --> a --> a
d --> d --> b --> b --> c --> c --> c --> b --> d --> a --> a
prev = d
next = b
prev != b --> continue fomr next
d --> d --> b --> b --> b --> d --> a --> a
prev = b
next = b
prev == next, try to find if k == 3 can be formed by going back to the "earliest" prev that is equals to "b"
Iterate again
d --> d --> d --> a
prev = d
next = d
do same, repeat till aa
1. Construct DLL with string
2. Keep track of count state which increments when prev.val == next.val
3. When count == k, remove these characters from the array
4. Keep track of the PREVIOUS node and NEXT node of the characters that have gotten removed
5. If PREVIOUS node == NEXT node, find the earliest prev that is equal to the character and START state counting from there again
6. Do until next == none and return header
O(N) algo (i think)```
oh solution is stack lol
yea thats much easier than my stupid soln
š¤¦āāļø
same complexity but mines overly covulated
what is that for?
your string question
header, trailer = Node(None), Node(None)
# header.next = trailer
# trailer.prev = header
node = header
for ch in s:
ch_node = Node(ch)
node.next = ch_node
ch_node.prev = node
node = ch_node
trailer.prev = node
node.next = trailer
count = 0
prev, node = header, header.next
def find_deletion_point(prev):
for i in range(k):
prev = prev.prev
if prev.val == None:
break
return prev
while node:
if prev == node:
count += 1
else:
count = 1
if count == k:
# lets remove this section from earliest known prev
deletion_point = find_deletion_point(node)
deletion_point.next = node.next
deletion_point.next.prev = deletion_point
prev = deletion_point
# if the characters are the same of before and after, loop node back till u reach the earliest node that == character
while prev.prev and prev == prev.prev:
prev = prev.prev
node = prev.next
count = 1
else:
prev, node = node, node.next
head = header.next
ans = ""
while head.val:
ans += head.val
head = head.next
return ans
ahh
my code which fails cuz of trailer not being updated, but im too lazy
at least its still O(n) i guess but unneccsary
interesting stack question, thanks for sharing
kinda a hard OA for gs
definitely
discrete math for sure
I meant the gs OA
if you pick coding + math, if the coding section gets easier questions
No
what is the meaning that a company is on hold right now, although my job application is still in the process?
Did a great interview and I know they liked me, so im just waiting at this point, did a follow up with the company and they said they are on hold but the application is very much alive.
Idk if you've looked into it but a ton if Apache distributed systems projects are written in Java or JVM based languages
Just off the top of my head I know Cassandra, Solr, Spark are all written in JVM languages
Also do you actually want to build these systems (like building the databases or query engines themselves) or do you want to use them (in some kind of backend use cases)?
Being rejected after final rounds of interviews and am about to graduate without an internship. How bad is this?
Not too bad, u know ur able to get there
bro my 2 hour GM interview was actually technical wtf
Is there anyone got interview from Ford AV?
it went alright, there are some qs I couldnt answer but overall it was ok
def didnt ace it tho
Is there anyone got interview from F5 networks?
depends on company i thin, for my company they said we have 2 weeks to accept it if we get a return offer
Bruh I have not been asked leetcode in 3 straight interviews
More api based questions
build
Yea those types of jobs are super rare
Do you plan to get a master's
not in cs
So a recruiter reached out to me last Thursday asking to send him some good times to talk. I send the email late Thursday evening and i have not heard back from him. Should I email him one more time or take the hint that he might not be interested ?
Alright gl then
https://talent.siemens.com/en_US/myapplications/FolderDetailPortal?folderId=197868&list=1 like this was something that i hoped i'd get into
Siemens Application Tracking Global
but no replies =/
All I get is a login portal
sec
i dont think they pay much but it's the sorta thing I want to do
cadence does similar stuff I believe but also didnt reply to me
"Effectively this job will require you to piece together in optimal and robust ways diverse components that each solve separate problems and compose a complete, high uptime solution from the individual pieces."
This sounds more like using existing systems rather than building them from scratch
Sounds like a cool job nonetheless
yeah, I mean i dont need to build completely from scratch but it's the area i wanna work in
i do want to pivot to quant dev/fintech later on if I dont get it now. hence prefer C++ experience
Yea that sounds like a reasonable plan
Hope you do find a job that aligns with your interests
fingers crossed
Anybody do Wish final interview?
Is there any Amazon housing grp for Seattle
yes $6800
yeah
Anyone applied for Palantir New Grad SE? What topics should I prepare for the assessment?
but i canāt pass codesignal or if i do then do karat š
i fr feel so unspecial rn
is this auto again
even rh didnt reach out to me....
seems loke
Wait is RH process that hard?
its not too bad
How was the final?
harder than the rest of the process for sure
Damn
first steps were just codesignal karat and recruiter
LC? Or something else?
Fuuuuck
Bro thatās so weird the resume I submitted was so ass

I even told the greylock lady I wanted to update it and she said no
Wait monke send me ur resume Iām curious
na šµļø
nope
Oh
i dont want ppl to copy my template
lmfao def not, i just like having something unique
shows me Jakeās resume
Where can I get resources on Karat interview? Any help would be helpful thanks!
Yep but itās remote so itās kinda a turn off to me :/
Do yāall get your sign on bonus when you sign or when you start?
I got mine when I started but I was curious to know if that was the case for yāall
for internship, first paycheck
Whats remote
wfh
forever
First paycheck
depends on company. but i believe most are when you get first paycheck
I guess you have to be legally employed by the company before they can pay you anything
Not 100% sure though
I'm getting 1/12 of mine every month along with my base salary
Hi, has anyone who applied to OPT online instead of using mail received the EAD?
I have
oh Nice, when did you apply?
End of March
oh I see, I applied on May 3rd I guess I need to wait a bit more
how much time did it take?
tad short of 3 months actually
oh I see
so in the website. there is no of checking how much it will take right? it just says that it was received and that's it
for me at least
you can try opttimeline.com and enter your receipt date. It will tell how many cases around your receipt date had been approved already.
may guide you on how much more time it would take for your case to get approved
Has anyone here done credit karma on-site?
wow nice! thank you
OPT online cases are generally taking about 90 days
it seems they are trying to keep up with that timeline, whereas mailed cases are more random in processing times and can be on average quicker but have more outliers
Anybody had Goldman sachs super day for Early career position?
Anyone gave jpmorgan assessment?
I completed all three Amazon oa assessments successfully. The application's status has changed to "not under consideration." What exactly does that imply?
@heavy jacinth pain
I've just accepted an offer from F5 after doing my capstone project with them
yo I heard GM gives out verbal offers, is this through email or do they just phone you?
I live in a basement with poor signal reception and I live -3 hours from the office's timezone
anyone have rubrik interview?
Anyone did project based onsite for snapchat?
Anybody interviewing with google ?
is it reasonable to ask a company to delay an interview a couple of weeks? or are they going to say no / disqualify me for asking
@jade juniper yooo, can you share the link for the job?
Me
How many? id say 2-3 weeks at most
Congrats
anyone got anything to say about Aerotek/Actalent?
Oh hell yeah bro where at?
Nvidia
Proud of you bro
yo do companies give out verbal offers first before the actual offer by phone?
im a little paranoid on missing out a verbal offer bc my phone reception is really bad
I think theyād leave a voicemail or ask you to call back?
ask to call back through email? my signal is really bad so nothing gets sent
not even voicemail
like it just doesnt connect
What the fuck, if you get a verbal offer wouldnāt you get an official one later too in email? Idk how verbal works
yeah idk im just being paranoid
might actually have to go outside for better signal š¤ š©
yup couple offers were like that for me
im hoping that they email me if I miss out on those calls
i bet u got it

We graduating in December?
December 2021 grads usually get lumped with 2022 grads
yea same the first question i tried compiling and ir said error when i jus tried to print the function params
Hey guys, did anyone give Google phone interview round?
Did anyone get amazon university role interview ?
Amazon shifted to hackerrank?
Is this onsite or?
No, the one before onsite
hi guys! I am nearing the end of my internship and will be applying for a new grad role as i graduate this Dec. I was just curious, what the difference is for interview process between a New Grad vs Intern position ??
same difficulty, less forgiving
!process JS reject
You can only use this command in #2021_grad_process or #2021_intern_process
how hard was OA
Is there a list of companies with new grad roles?
If not then we should start one and all of us can contribute when we find openings
anyone done the google oa ?
oh i see. So no Design questions for new grad? just leetcode?
OOD questions instead of system design
e.g.
- Design the game of blackjack. Explain what data structures you would use to implement a deck of cards.
2.Design a chat server. Provide details about the various back-end components, classes and methods? What would be the hardest problem to solve?
3.Design a parking lot using object-oriented principles. Outline what classes and methods you would create
These types of question are meant to test ur understanding of object-oriented programming .
CTCI has good chapter that cover them - chapter 7
Microsoft gave me "Design a kitchen for a blind person" - not sure how I would categorize a question like that
difficulty is comparable - new grad tend to be slightly harder - but usually have more rounds
@heady kindle thank you
Hello, I'm a new grad as of june 2021. I've been kind of spraying and praying for almost a month now and have had very little luck. Where do I start?
Are you getting responses or?
Occasionally.
Usually it's the typical "not what we're looking for"
Maybe you need to take a look at your resume and see if it's good.
I would start there then just keep applying to positions as they open up
What's the general consensus on revature?
Seems like glorified training program that keeps you locked in for couple years
But they pay you during the whole process rather than the other way around
Still absolutely not worth it
GM has called or emailed me about my 2 hour interview since Monday, I'm so fucking anxious bro
they did mention 2-3 days though thats the thing
at least I have some other interviews lined up rn but getting an offer now would be pog
the posting mentioned 3+ yoe though so I dont know how I stack up as a new grad
yup shitty phone reception made me miss out on a recruiter call
no this is for another company
Is google still actively hiring?
anybody else also unable to access the amazon university jobs portal ?
i try to reset my password but the email is never sent
Wait for a while. You might have entered the wrong password 3 or more times.
Should take around 6 hours to be available again.
I see, so wait 6 hours then just try to reset the password ?
Yes
thanks iāll give it a shot!
I have the Google Onsite interview coming up for Software Engineering, University Graduate, 2021. Does anyone have any pointers as to what to expect other than LC?
Thereās going to be a behavioural
Has anyone interviewed with SailPoint ?
hahaha, yeah, I know that š
But I was wondering more about the 'Types' of concept related questions
Mine were lots of graphs. Nothing too hard imo
I think other than doing lc just communicate well and youāre grand š
Hey guys did anyone receive invite for Goldman Sachs super day interview, 28th of this month

Has anyone interviewed with Nutanix ?
Is google having actual onsite interviews these days or just virtual?
Virtual
No
o
has anyone attended msft hiring day event?
Whatās the hiring day event?
Can someone ping the link to grokking the coding interview pattern unlocked link?
lucky for you i have the link for grokking the coding interview @river gust
such a thing exist?
Can u please send?
Coding interviews are getting harder every day. A few years back, brushing up on key data structures and going through 50-75 coding interview questions was more than enough prep for an interview. Today, everyone has access to massive sets of coding problems, and they've gotten more difficult to account for that. The process has gotten more compe...
@river gust
You have to pay 80 for it i think
Lol...thanks
im just kidding hahaha pm ill send link
idk about posting it here since theres 1.6k
Hi all, Is there a site/platform/crack where I can get Leetcode premium solutions for free?
Would be immensely helpful
Yes

i had a friend get 0/7 and didnt get OA 2 lol
Has anyone done Mulesoft SE for New Grads interview?
Ok but if you get 0/7 did you really program in java
can i get dat link too
@river gust leetfree has all leetcode premium problems
@solid crag if you want to paste it here go for it
there anyone that wants it
Does anyone have a similar link for sys design?
Hirevue coding challenges always trip me up bc of the io stuff
@uneven charm think I can get it for you. I'll check when I'm home
if you can sauce me that as well, that would be so clutch
got a sys des interview on friday
Folks, is it true that Facebook only accepts H-1B transfers?
Does this mean that students with F-1 OPT won't be able to work/interview with Facebook as a new grad?
not true
where did you get that from
I know multiple people working on OPT for facebook
For your friends, did they get a full-time offer in 2021 when they just graduated? Were your friends on initial OPT (1 year) or STEM OPT (2 additional years)?
they got a return offer upon graduation from an internship
so that could be different
but I really don't think if you are directly applying for a new grade position it should be a problem
https://github.com/sharanyaa/grok_sdi_educative/blob/master/grok_system_design_interview.pdf
This all i can find right now @uneven charm @unborn pebble
Thanks for sharing this
Thanks
!process Company
You can only use this command in #2021_grad_process or #2021_intern_process
Anyone have experience w VMware technicals? Final round is in September
I doubt they ask too many hards right?
mostly easies/mediums
Has anyone negotiated a return offer before?
Trying to see if itās worth trying to squeak out more signing bonus
Definitely negotiate lol as long as youāre respectful nothing bad can come from it
@knotty basin
iām working there dm if you want
i feel like this is pretty reasonable to finesse if you phrase it nicely like āi loved working here this past summer and i learned so much but i am in the process with several other companies is it possible to get a signing bonus of x amount <insert justification for asking if you want>ā
is it ok to ask for salary range during initial recruiter call
like is there a good chance theyll tell me or will they tell me to f off
Bet. I heard that typically bigger companies donāt budge on salary but they will on bonus. Is that true you think? Obviously higher salary would be better
if they ask you (whatās your expected salary), then you can shoot back with āmarket rateā or you can use that as a springboard to ask āwhatās the expected range for this positionā
i donāt know if iād come right out and ask the expected range because then it gives them an opening to ask your expected range
and you donāt wanna play that card
of course you can always just say āmarket avgā or āgoing rateā or something along those lines but they may push you
idk up to you tho
i mean i got an 8k salary bump just because i asked for it and a 17.5k signing just because i asked for it lol
they will most likely budge as long as you donāt ask for a 20k bump
especially if you can drop the āwell iām interviewing at other companies and have final interviews coming up this weekā lmao
Bro š fuck it lmao
I extended my internship by a month, so Iāll also be like yeah, Iāve had extra experience with the company so Iāll be up to speed faster or something like that
na like
if theyre only considering 100k for example
i might as well just hang up and not interview
not really negotiating, just want to hear their standard package
if they ask expected range ill probably just throw them a minimum id be willing to interview for
like say 200k
i just feel like its kind of a turn off asking so early
but also dont want to waste time
yeah i know, i just mean you donāt want to price yourself by accident is all
but fair
i think you can ask then
Hey is it common for PagerDuty interns to get converted full time? Have any of you guys interned there and got a return offer
Just so for more money, canāt hurt
Like the cost of recruiting a successful candidate is like
Pretty high
You'll need at least 24 month left on your OPT/H1B for FB.
Has anyone interviewed with Yext?
Yes
Like a final?
Wtf
That's just rude
How can u not reject someone after atleast a final
Did it go well?
Yep
More of them telling me about their team and culture
And me asking them Qs
Lol companies that ghost after finals are the worst
Western Digital ghosted me for like a month before I sent like 3 emails to them
2
Oooo dam
For people who are under initial OPT (the first 1 year) who hasnāt started the STEM OPT (additional 2 years), are they eligible to apply for Facebook full time SDE role even though the initial OPT expiration date is in 2022?
Yes, it's 24 out of 36 (initial + STEM)
Western Digital is the worst. They interviewed me for 3 hours and then recruiter gets back to me and says they would like to interview me again
I did 3 interviews with them that actually went really really good
I didnāt hear back for 2 weeks so I hit them up. No response. Ended up sending 3 emails before I heard back and this is what I got:
They āupleveledā the position, meaning they didnāt want to hire a new grad š¤¦āāļø
What a waste of time
Why would they even waste my time
Omg LOL
Yeah exactly lol
Never applying to Western Digital again
Dying company anyway
I'd reply back "thanks, but given how unprofessional this interview and communication has been handled, I'll be taking my talents elsewhere"
Out of spite
Lol it wasnāt even worth my response honestly
Yeah ur right lmao
what a bunch of assholes
Lol I did the same thing
Anybody from Seattle? Is the "Seattle Freeze" a real thing? Thinking about an offer for an Amazon SDE position up there sooo
I have rubrik interview in 2 days. Im nervous
I'm not sure
Also, by the Seattle freeze you're referring to people in Seattle giving outsiders the cold shoulder right?
Or are you referring to how cold it gets?
Yeah
The cold shoulder
Has anyone ever received a linkedlist problem in a technical? In my experience ive only been asked some sort of string manipulation questions, dp, or a dfs/bfs type of problem
Did anyone gave interview for Nvidia- Full Stack Web developer?
I have been asked twice , Amazon and Interactive Brokers
I guess it really depends
This is an inside perspective so I'm not sure about how life really is for outsiders, but most of the people are semi-reserved. I believe it mostly has to do with COVID but everyone normally has an attitude that they don't want to be involved with others. I don't think anyone is explicitly cold though
Although a few of my friends have told me that they've been the target of discrimination in Seattle (food vendors ignoring them because they're Asian, random people yelling out towards them) but they've also said it rarely happens
I'm not sure what your ethnicity is so just as a heads up
Is it that they just hate tech people? Like if you looked like you didn't work in tech, would they be less apprehensive?
i donāt think itās a tech thing no @torn ferry
i mean that probably doesnāt help
but in general seattle is known for that
imo, I think it's in general. There's general hate, stereotyping, degrading, hard in general in society being Asian. Like all the stuff in news of attacks in San Francisco, or in general liberal cities (to my surprise seeing on youtube all the incidence videos even though I would have thought they would not happen to that degree of severity.) have a lot of attacks on Asians. Just being you, you have chance of getting attacked.
Me personally, I haven't experienced these stuff yet in Seattle. But, I just try to avoid getting in those situations.
Is there a decline in the new grad / entry level positions at Google and Facebook?
yo General Motors is scheduling another interview with the hiring manager after my 2 hour technical
wtf does this mean
I thought 2 hour was the final one bruh
That means u got it bro@
what?????? the lady on the phone didnt say anything
also Im waiting for the email confirmation
bc that was just a phone call
ok so this interview is 1 hour
instead of 2
what does this mean
Hiring manager after a final
Most likely means u got the offer
And they wanna discuss what ur actually gonna do
Well you can still fail it at this point. i have lol
oh ok so still holding my breathe then
I'm an international student too so I got papers to take care of
ic so they sent me a pdf with info about interview tips so there is a lot of STAR stuff
so its gonna be a behavorial
tfw recruiter left a voicemail to call back but its going to be an international call šø
An hour at 2$/min is gonna be a costly interview ahah
You got this tho
not for new grad
No but u might have OOD questions or going thru a code review
Has anyone interviewed with Nutanix for MTS role?
Has anyone worked with or interviewed for mthree?
Depends on the team but generally just algo or maybe OOP
My intern manager said they liked OOP questions
Interviewers at Amazon get a lot of freedom
Me
Are these like design a parking lot etc?
Did anyone hear back from IMC regarding Graduate Quant/ Research role?
What was the phone screen like?
Implement x from y data structure
LC Medium for me
Hi there, I am a 2021 grad, already got a job and working. Do you think Investment banks (and especially Goldman) accept applications for 2022 grad jobs?
Idk if it doesn't say "2022 grads only" then I would apply
Usually a year after you graduate, they consider you a new grad. I would check for specific companies youāre looking at though. Iāve also seen companies make exceptions in the past year or so for 1 year+ grads because of the pandemic
Are you planning on putting your current job on your resume when applying for new jobs?
I got an interview for a financial company tomorrow and an interview with google in two weeks and im definitely not ready lmao
Got out my phone screen for rubrik
How was it ?
Has anyone given the Amazon OA
yes lots
What type of question do they mostly ask
I had a LC med and a LC hard
it's on coder rank
it's RNG tbh
some might argue the hard was a med but i thought it was hard
Has anyone interviewed with Servicenow or Lucid Software?
Hi
servicenow or lucid ?
anyone has interview for IBM?
Service now
I had one
For those who have been interviewing recently, what topics have you been asked?
Mostly
depends on the position
Anyone interview with apple
Q1: come up with an algorithm to resurrect jobs
I'm getting tons of interviews now out of nowhere lol
Graduated from UC but a bad one. I have side projects and my capstone involved building something for a company. In my case built an ios app. Also have flutter listed and side projects I'm working on for Android and ios
Lol
thats better than my resume
I just got email like 19min ago
The recruiter just did a ritual and rolled a dice and was probably drunk when he decided to reach out to me
He did the goblin dance
just gotta ace dat interview
Heard they're extremely hard so have doubts
wouldnt know, never interviewed with fang before
I also dislike apple so I'ma just tell them not interested
/s ?
I just don't like how they have their ecosystem closed from every other device. They're a monopoly
but it makes $
I'm not qualified š
F it I'll just take the opportunity and see where it ends up.
Everyone really this faang sexual over apple?š
i mean it's ur choice
but
not everyone just gets reached out to by apple recruiters
so it'd be a dumb idea to not at least try
yeah i have 4 yrs of internship experience
no apple
lol
granted not great company
but
not small
Iāll one up you, mine were at p well known companies and even one had Apple as a customer
And still no looks
It really is RNG
Even no name startups reject me.
Past like 1 or 2, i would say itās diminishing returns
Literally recruiter just get drunk and roll a dice lol
I would think so @worthy spear
Hi does anyone have interviews with Microsoft Graduate SDE 1
Have had in the past ^
Could you tell me about your experience and how did you prepare for it and experience thank you @ornate charm
You can probably message the recruiter saying you applied for another job and ask if you could also put interest in this one
I asked a sourcing recruiter on LinkedIn and she said that it won't affect my interview process so fingers crossed
anyone interview with bolt?
Yeah I had a tech screen and then a final round with 4 interviews. I found the leetcode explore module to be pretty helpful tbh. Feel like they like asking about binary search and stuff a lot
@ornate charm Thank you I will be sure to checkout
How is the final round for amazon this year?
I have 3x 45min
Anyone finished Snap Final Project based onsite?
2021 ?
Rubrik recruiter is ass
Agreed. Very stupid technical phone screen. The recruiter said it would be an algorithm based interview, but turned out it was a network protocol problem. The interviewer talked for more than 45 mins, lol
Yes sir
U had an interview with rubrik?
Mines went pretty well but since the very beginning the recruiter has always lagged on replying to me and I usually just email them saying thank you for reaching out etc. Thank you for opportunity to interview etc.
@jade juniper
All they care about is there bonus lol
Agreed with this lol
Yeah man not a very great exp. hope you get to the next round. I heard the culture is great there. Just not my lucky day. :/
So your problem wasn't something along the lines of " given there exists a network flow..." @jade juniper
It was my lucky day. Brain went dead for a few seconds until I started asking them questions such as hmmm Im thinking of using a hashmap
Me
No he was pseudo coding a server for post/get request for 30 mins and ask a string problem, he assumed that i know deeply all the āpseudoā functions that he wrote.
Smart guy but not a great interviewer
