Are you using Coinbase mobile wallet by chance? There’s a known issue if so where that wallet handles redirects uniquely which causes an issue. The workaround until we can fix that is either use the desktop flow (you should see an option to continue on desktop instead of selecting a wallet) or using a different wallet app

I would review the documentation of the rules and they did a great twitter spaces that broke down how to submit from a legal perspective in relation to ip usuage

but the short answer is, if you ever wanted to monetize a mod, meaning sell it independently commercially, you should use the non-branded dunks and use no logos

and as you did above, you took the back clip and made your own front, is the way you keep those commercial rights

where if you just modify their heel or tounge pieces and add on top, it can only be for personal use

again i'm not a lawyer and def not giving you legal advice, but its worth looking into so

A) your time and effort doesnt result in being disqualified
B) If you design something cool that people like, you can legally sell it independently

yeah its that bolt, thanks for catching that in advance. the files that were provided for the challenge and the logo hidden in the clip, shouldnt be an issue if they are used as-is

not representation to the rules, but these are just some personal opinions that i've found helpful when taking part in challenges

in general - provided files are fine
adding rtfkt logos - sometimes its ok, sometimes its not. i prefer to err on the side of caution and not use them
adding other logos you do not have the rights to - solid no

Generally like to get Franco or Ferei to provide confirmation in black and white so theres no doubt

For the challenge, and personal usage, you're able to use the files that we sent as they come. Both branded and unbranded. For commercial reasons, you can't use these files as they come, since its the original form of the Mod (no matter if its branded or unbranded). However, you can take the little clips from the original Mods (also added to the files we sent) like @vital perch did above, and use it to create something new, which will be able to be attached to the Dunk. Hope that makes sense 👍

Morning brother id go for stripping the glass part> give that a new glass material>for the eyes light them up buy connecting your main color/image texture to emmisision with a value of 3/4?

Stripping the glass u can do by going edit mode deselect all. Then select a part of the glass and press L to select all linked verticies and then with “p” u seperate then

You’ll have to update the 3D textures. I don’t believe there are rules about changing the Dunk itself but the challenge is for the 3D mod assets specifically so personally I’d recommend focusing your design around that. Plus it’d give a more clear vision to others what the mod would look on a Dunk IRL.

Yo... I haven't played with Clonetools in a hot minute and I'm having some trouble with it. Do you guys just use with with blender 3.2?

For some reason when I try right clicking on an animation, I don't get the "Apply Animation" option. I remember getting it on my old computer.

Guess I'm not able to attach photos haha... it just gives me the option to apply pose, but that's only a single frame. I'm running blender version 3.6.7

I was browsing today and tried this, but I was getting some of the extra colors mixed in with the body from the image when just doing a swap in style library. So what I did to make the body match the skin tone of the head was: I went to shading after selecting the body of my clone. Then I swapped out the file in Base Color with an edited PNG of the human skin texture where I cropped out all the colors I didn't want, so that I'd only have the skin tone. Disconnected everything else, and viola. I had myself a human skin tone on the body in place of the mesh suit

you will need to:

1. delete shape keys
2. decimate mesh / delete mesh that are covered by clothes
3. reduce file size of textures

should get you to under 10 once u delete shape keys

then u can look at 2 and 3

if its still needed

i would remove the jewelry around the neck as well as they have high file size generally

Just like in Clone X the ones with Murakami traits or Murakami Editions are exempt from commercial rights but they are just a small percentage of the supply as they are considered rare

but this should give you an idea of the terms and conditions you can expect of Animus IP rights

worth a read if you plan on using the IP for commercial use

You can try selecting all the armature keyframes, right click > interpolation mode > select bezier

In graph mode you can also try to clean up some of the movements with the wxyz rotation keyframes

Navigating the graph editor isn’t too bad once you get into it. Scariest bit is probably jumping in, in my experience. But it’ll help a bunch when it come to making smoother animations, timing etc. I recommend starting off small when learning it like the bouncing ball project for example. Also recommend checking out the 12 principals of animations too. There’s a good book by Richard Williams on the topic.

Yea I really enjoy learning about it, like history of Disney animation, the development in software from movies like Toy Story to something like Encanto. Find it all fascinating tbh. But I certainly need to push myself to putting it all into practice more. No sense in knowing things if I don’t use the knowledge haha. I’ve got some small projects in mind when I get my hands on the Animus setups though.

For sure, the rigs are super complex too! Also like that they have rigs for the hair and even clothe parts. Would be neat to see some tutorials or general insights on the different controls they have and how to best use them when they release. Really like that they are optimizing for blender more this time too. I beleive the clones were more optimized for maya I think. I’ve had to use addons to get a bit better of a rig setup for mine, so I can control and pose a little more easily. Use things like lattice and soft body to get some hair movement. But lose some functions, weights and things aren’t super perfect. I had wanted to start jumping into animating but then got lost in learning about rigging and stuff haha. So excited to see the clone v2 setups come down the line.

I made a version of my clone pure with the blend files and deleted all the others; must say its fastest way of loading mine up that i found and working smooth

Also have one with optimized meshes and textures

Like you built a rig from the ground up? I have a few different setups and variations of my clone too. The rig setup I mostly use is this one with the auto rig pro addon and works fairly well overall. I should probably look into optimizing things some more also. Would probably help cut down render times.

Yea this one is from using the addon I mentioned. Got from blender market awhile back. Worth checking out. Believe they had it for free too when they had their anniversary celebration little while back. Hoping we’ll maybe get a similar full setup for blender when v2 clones come out.

Hmm 🤔 looks like it’s an error with the names attributed in the bone group, this you get rid of the original rig before doing it? Should just be the meshes only. I remember it had taken a little bit for me to get mine figured out. Also, I recommend doing it with the traits off of the character and adding them back on later where you can add automatic weights.

Also looks like you have the human armature preset (blue/red controls there), when building one you should use the empty option.
